We booked this stay from home – not realizing where it was – or more precisely how remote it was. There was nothing around but this small village – and there was to places open – whereof one was this small place with a bar/café/restaurant and 4-6 rooms. The staff was a young couple and a older couple – none of them spoke English but we got along so well with body language and single words they or we know in each other’s language. To me it is always stunning how much we can get along – we humans – without sharing a verbal language. Also it seems (also from the reviews here) that the customers here are mainly locals, not international – but I do recommend that you try it – if you’re in for an extraordinaire experience of local atmosphere… We came in at the afternoon and got the room, which was clean, small and had everything you need. Good beds, small but nice shower, no aircon, view to the mountain next door with some cows grassing. Cows are walking freely – sometimes on the road, mostly in the fields on the mountainside, friendly and calm animals – never hostile or threatening. So we spend a late afternoon there – hanging out, drinking fabulous coffee and taking a slow walk around the entire village, taking a closer look at the dogs laying around, the church up the hill and the historic buildings. The silence of the city was absolute – expect from the sound of the cows bells – cows grassing up the hills wear bells that has this calming sound… Dinner wasn’t served until 9 pm which is a bit late for me, but that’s the way to dine in Spain, and until then the bar hosted the whole village watching some football game on the huge screen in the room. Suddenly the silence was broken, shouting, chatting, talking, laughing and drinking filled the room, the street – the whole village. When entering the dining room (which was different from the bar with the football audience, luckily, but then again they seem to really like big tv screens next to their dining, so here another tv was on – with a dating program. In Spanish. No texting.) the young hostess showed us a small notebook with the dinner written in English. Wauw – we didn’t expect that – and also the dishes we could choose between was a surprise. I’d thought that we would have THE dinner – meaning 2-3 courses readymade - but we had a choice between 4 different starters, main courses and desserts – or a burger-dinner (the safe choice). We went with some “cheeks” which was a pork dish and the one named “veal” – both with fries. Nice and tasty meat – fries are not crunchy in Spain, but spongy – and so were these. My starter was called Asparagus – so I expected the vegetable by that name – but got instead a salad with mayo, potatoes, carrots and some asparagus. Tasted very delicate – a nice surprise I’d say. The dessert was a coffee pudding with cream – a bit on the heavy side, but very well (home)made. Breakfast was average – lots of spongecake as the like it here in Spain (I don’t!) and some toasted bread with butter/jam. Lovely coffee – again, again – we had lots of it by now. The smell of fried eggs and onions that we noticed in the early morning was not for the breakfast (unfortunately) but for the tapas that the older man was about to make for the display in the bar. Looked nice, though, also there were some ham and bread in there. All in all we felt very happy to have found this little extraordinaire place that I won’t hesitate to go back to – even it’s a bit of the beaten track. Go there if you get the chance – enjoy the calmness and friendliness and some good food.

Si buscas escaparte de la vida de la ciudad , es el mejor sitio ! Trato increíble por parte de los dueños Jorge y Valentina , todo impecable , en cuanto al cocinero Carlos , inmejorable ! Son pet friendly y a los que tenemos animales nos facilita la vida , te dan todo tipo de comodidades para ellos . Creo que no tengo mas palabras que decir que ha sido una experiencia de 10. Lo recomiendo 100%.

Lunch - Good rustic €11 menu del dia (usual three courses and a bottle of wine/water/beer). Food isn't 'fancy' but good home cooking and plenty of it. Lunch service seemed to start at the usual Spanish lunch time of 13.30.
Had a lovely time in the restaurant, rested for a while and had a beer.

Un sitio agradable. Las habitaciones son amplias y están muy limpias. Los que regentan el establecimiento, nos han cuidado muy bien. Por el trato recibido y el entorno, merece la pena.
Tania, Pilar y Talal nos han cuidado de manera excepcional. En su hotel, recién reformado y súper acogedor, no nos ha faltado de nada: tienen habitaciones cómodas y equipadas, buena comida, buena ubicación y todas las facilidades para hacer el viaje una experiencia de 10!
Hemos pasado un fin de semana espectacular gracias a Talal, Tania y Pilar que nos han tratado de 10 y nos hemos sentido como en casa. La comida buenisima, el trato inmejorable y las habitaciones muy bien equipadas
La atención ha sido perfecta. Los nuevos dueños han estado pendientes para que todo fuera fenomenal. Hemos ido por trabajo, pero repetiría por vacaciones.
Lo mejor que podamos encontrar para desconectar. Buena comida. Buenas habitaciones, buena cafetería. Personal muy profesional, muy agradable y un Gran ambiente tanto para uno que vaya sólo o en familia. La gente de ese pueblo es lo mejor que se pueda encontrar, desde el ciudadano de a pie hasta el Alcalde. Son todos una Gran Familia. Y los dueños muy malos y serviciales, pocos sitios como este.

Estuvimos comiendo un grupo de amigos y la atención y el menú fueron exquisitos. El pueblo es precioso y vale mucho la pena visitarlo tanto en invierno como el verano. Por supuesto, después de la visita hay que pasar por el bar y disfrutar de la simpatía y amabilidad de estos dos jóvenes emprendedores y probar su excelente menú.
Muy buena experiencia. Alojamiento muy confortable. Trato excepcional por parte de los dueños y servicio. Comida excelente. Totalmente recomendable si quieres tranquilidad y un entorno rural. Repetiremos seguro.
Pasamos una noche allí, íbamos de paso pero sin duda volveremos. Valentina y Jorge son los que llevan este lugar, una pareja encantadora que evidentemente llevan años dedicándose a la hostelería. Amables, profesionales y con muchas ganas de hacerlo bien. El personal de cocina maravilloso, comida muy casera y con mucho cariño, lastimosamente no sabemos el nombre de el personal de cocina, pero sin duda se merecen unas felicitaciones y aplausos!!! Gracias, por ser gente que quiere hacerlo bien. Felicidades por la nena linda que los llevo a dónde están! :)
Un lugar increíble! Hemos pasado un fin de semana perfecto! La atención de los dueños Valentina y Jorge espectacular, da gusto! pendientes de todos los detalles, la estancia en el hostal fenomenal, recomiendo comer/ cenar ahí, todo está riquísimo! Por la zona hay varias rutas a las que acceder andando o en coche. Zona muy bonita y agradable para desconexión, además son petfriendly! Repetimos seguro!
Hemos estado muy bien. Admiten mascotas, y el entorno , es bonito. Volveremos.

La atención ha sido perfecta. Los nuevos dueños han estado pendientes para que todo fuera fenomenal. Hemos ido por trabajo, pero repetiría por vacaciones.

Estuvimos de paso desde la Laguna de Neila al País Vasco. La habitación es muy sencilla. Sin televisor. Con unas cortinas para tapar la entrada de luz porque no hay persianas, pero feas no, lo siguiente. El bar estaba abierto y tuvimos la suerte que tenían pinchos recién hechos. Vino la gente del pueblo y fue el mejor momento de la visita. A la mañana siguiente, el bar abría a las 9. Café y tostadas para desayunar. Es una lástima que no se pueda aprovechar más dedicando un poco más de interés. Sobre todo porque no apetece volver y estos sitios son la última esperanza para la despoblación.
Reservamos para cenar diciendo que queríamos hamburguesa, pero no nos tomaron nota y nos trajeron directamente las hamburguesas sin preguntar nada, y como no tienen personal tardaron casi 1h. La comida es normal pero falta el detalle de preguntar. Y a diferencia de otras veces no nos han dejado separar la cuenta.

Comimos menú y la verdad que no nos gustó nada. Él primer plato mal, pero el segundo peor dejamos todo el plato entero y nos fuimos sin comer, todo esto por un precio de 36€ para dos personas. No lo recomiendo. Eso si el pueblo es muy bonito.
No es el sitio mas idóneo para descansar y relajarse, el bar del local, que está bajo la habitación a media tarde se llena de gente tomando copas y haciendo la tertulia con el consiguiente ruido que eso genera. Posteriormente empieza la fiesta con música moderna hasta altas horas de la madrugada. Eso sí, si te va la marcha es el sitio ideal, no era mi caso.
We don't recommend it at all. The service was horrible, not profesional at all, expensive and the hostel room was dirty and had a bad smell in the toilet. The indian guy was so disrespectful with us

Puerta del bar abierta aunque no parece haber nadie, subo al comedor, luz cocina encendida pero nadie responde. Al final llamo por telefono, mi sensacion es que estaban dentro, me contesta una chica que estan cerrados.........ni se disculpa. Resumen, 50 km y estoy durmiendo en Burgos.......increible.
No puedo opinar de las instalaciones,comida y pueblo. Lo que si puedo es contar mi experiencia. Dos habitaciones reservadas con muchísima antelación para el día 15 de agosto,vamos desde Jaén al norte dos matrimonios y queríamos pasar concretamente por ese punto. A las 10 de la mañana ya de camino me llama la propietaria diciendo que me tiene que cancelar la reserva de una de las habitaciones porque tiene un problema en la fontanería. Era tal la película que me estaba contando que no sé la creía ni ella,a mí parecer puede ser que se confundiera y no viera que eran dos habitaciones. En fin ,son las seis de la tarde a 40 grados y estamos en un área de servicio,hemos tenido que cambiar la ruta pues no hay ningún hotel en la zona. Escribo esto al menos para desahogarme La chica me dice que hasta el 19 no se arreglan las tuberías y no hay disponibilidad Miro por curiosidad en este momento y el 17 de agosto ya ofrece varias habitaciones Y nada...aquí estamos 4 adultos los únicos 4 días de vacaciones que tenemos buscando donde dormir,a no menos de 400 euros lo que queda vacío A la chica que me atendió le diré una cosa. Si el problema es suyo no lo tenemos que pagar nosotros,al menos ofrezcame una solución como si me tiene que poner una dormitorio en la recepción. Siento el tostón
