The new owners have done a great job upleveling this place, making it a beautiful gem. Amazing food, gorgeous patio garden with a ton of flowers and plants. We love it here! Even the bathroom is immaculate and beautiful. Also very kid-friendly with a spacious patio and lots of space between the tables.

Really great sushi and good prices. The dining area is in an outdoor courtyard and while we were there, a very talented live one-woman-show played the piano and sang. Fresh, flavorful, and excellently priced sushi!

We arrived at Mika Sushi to have dinner. They have seating in an open courtyard with string lights above. We definitely came to dinner with an appetite. We shared a large Sapporo with our meal and ordered a Giant California Roll, the Carnal Roll, and the Vegetable Udon. All of these were incredible and my wife and I kept saying: this might be the best sushi and Udon we've ever had. The friendliness of the staff, the freshness of the food, and the serving sizes were right on. We cannot wait to come back here again and would recommend it to anyone, locals and vacationers alike.

A must try! Salmon skin roll is amazing! And if you like sake they have a perfect flight.

Amazing! First sushi place I have ever been to that has a patio area for dogs and with the heaters it was perfect temperature. Let's talk about the food though, it was phenomenal with large portions. We had a 6 long rolls and an assortment of nigiri and it was more than enough for 2 of us. The service was so incredible too! The nicest people you will meet in Carmel Valley.

Great options, delicious food, comfy & welcoming atmosphere - Mika Sushi had it all! My husband, two dogs, and I enjoyed dinner on the beautiful covered patio space. The food was extremely fresh and well-balanced, and great portions. Cannot recommend enough - we will definitely be coming back!

Visited on 7/3/25 with my family. We were seated promptly in the covered courtyard once we arrived (very dog-friendly!). There is also seating available indoors with a cozier vibe. The service here is impeccable, and the food is delicious, fresh, and authentic. The menu contains a great mixture of Japanese and Korean cuisine. I highly recommend the sashimi combination; the quality is amazing, and the price too! Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious Japanese and Korean food in Carmel!

Beautiful atrium/courtyard area is bright, spacious and the acoustics are quiet even with all the tables full. The sushi is, well let's say: "Amazing sushi" phonetically in Japanese, you could say: Sugoi (すごい) = amazing, incredible "Yabai! Osushi!" (やばい)is slang and context-dependent, but in this case, it means something like "insanely good!" or "crazy delicious!" The service is kind courteous and attentive and the owners are friendly and welcoming. We moved nearby recently and this is one of our new favorite places. Also the prices are very reasonable, great starters and a good selection of local 🍷. 5 stars all around.

Exceptional. Tasty fresh fish on the sushi. First time having the Hamachi Kama (fish collar), definitely recommend it. We were seated right away, very warm welcome. The server was prompt and knowledgeable. All in all the hospitality and quality of food was amazing. We will be back.

We ordered Poke bowl and Chirashi. The fish and vegetables were all fresh and delicious. It was good to put Spicy Sauce (Korean chilly paste based sauce) in the Poke bowl. Fried vegetables were crunchy. The restaurant was neat, well organized and the atmosphere was really good. We all had a great time 💕

If you’re craving Korean food and solid sushi I recommend! AUTHENTIC KOREAN FLAVOR! I’m born and raised in Korea, vacationing here in Carmel Valley Ranch. I was craving some Asian food. Surprised to find nagasaki jjampong on the menu and I was expecting the white broth one that I see at pochas in Korea, but it actually was the red Korean jjampong. I was slightly sad but that took a quick turn and I was very happy with it because it was so authentic, so good with lots of seafood in it. Sushi was also great and overall super great price! Highly recommend.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Monterey County! Had dinner with my family at Mika and everything we ordered was delicious. This restaurant has the best tempura I’ve ever had because it was lightly battered and fried to perfection. I had the chirashi as the main course and the fish was so fresh. The owners are very friendly and obviously care about the quality of service and food. I can’t wait to go back!

Amazing, amazing service and truly mind-blowing food. What really made the night for us, though, was the owners and the way they run the place. We were dining with our 10-month-old son who was definitely causing a little ruckus, and the owner came by, checked in on us, and somehow made us feel completely at ease instead of embarrassed. That kind of warmth and kindness is rare—and it instantly turned our evening around. On top of that, the service was attentive, patient, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. And the food absolutely delivered: the yellowtail with jalapeño is a must, and we loved trying some of the specialty sushi as well—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. If you’re looking for a spot in Carmel with standout sushi and people who treat you like they’re truly glad you came in, Mika Sushi is it.

In general, the food is on par with most sushi restaurants in the Monterey area. I was a little disappointed, however, with the Chirashi as it has limited selection of ordinary sushi, definitely not Chef's Choice.

If you never had sushi before, you might enjoy the meal. We got the $145 sushi platter - the cuts of fish did not taste fresh, and the assortment was lackluster. The presentation made me lose my appetite, and was not worth what we paid. 1/5 stars. The rolls were marginally better, but Mika tends to try too hard to make them special, like adding a misplaced WHOLE carrot or nuts in the sushi. The tempura was overbreaded, the ginger slices were the size of apple slices. Save your money and go elsewhere.
