Best pizza in Sheepshead Bay and one of my favorite slices in all of NYC. Everytime I pass by this place I always stop to get the vodka slice and something else. The dough is thin, the sause is rich and flavorful, the ingredients are fresh and the basil left on every slide is just such a simple but cute touch. Everytime I smell basil I think of Lucia. This block has amazing food and nightlife, and Lucia on Ave X is an institution.
This place is spectacular. 1. The Pizza is phenomenal. Very crispy, nice and hot, so flavorful. Of all my time being in New York , this is easily a top 3 pizza place! Garlic knots are great as well. 2. The employees are very nice and professional. In fact, one time they gave me 2 free slices because it was nearly closing time. If that doesn’t tell you how friendly the staff are at this place, I don’t know what will. 3. 100% recommend to everyone. Lots of families and people come by to eat here, so it can be very busy at times. Make sure to go at the right time that’s all!
This is genuinely the best pizza spot i’ve ever had and I didn’t even know this place was viral. I’ve been ordering from them years ago and i’ve tried hundreds of other pizza spots to the point where I started not liking pizza. But this store genuinely brought my love back for pizza. The crisp, the freshness and flavor of the tomato sauce, everything was amazing. Thank you lucia’s for changing my life and view on pizza!
Pizza Lover. Wow. This place was great. The Slices had No Flop. Crispy thin crust. Nice color on bottom. Great sauce and mozzarella. Great ratio. The fresh basil leaves is a tasty touch. I had a plain slice and a pepperoni slice. We'll worth the trip from over the VZ bridge. Ill be back. The place is quaint. Bout 15 seats. It's been there a while. Nice.
Tough contender for the best regular slice in NYC!!! I love trying out all the “best” pizza spots and those that aren’t as popular, and I do have to say, IMO Lucia has the best regular slice. Thin and crispy crust, the sauce tastes natural, clean and homemade. They also add a little basil for presentation and you can tell the guys behind the counter love and are proud of what they do. The atmosphere feels like stepping back in time, like nothing’s ever changed from when they opened and that makes it perfect.
Checked this place out because of Pizza Wars on First We Feast YouTube channel. We got the plain, margherita, and clam pies to eat at in-laws (10 minutes away). Loved the crust on the pizzas. Kids loved the plain. Family thought the clam pie tasted a bit salty if you didn't use the provided lemons. The fried mozzarella was the best I've ever had. The garlic knots were nothing special (compared to any other pizza joint), but they did taste good. I definitely want to return and get some slices to try some of the other pizzas where I wasn't sure enough of the flavor to order a whole pie. Hope this place sticks around for a long time.
Lucia's is fine, but l've still had better. The prices at their Bklyn location were pretty standard for the area. Their online menus don't include tax, FYI. I really liked the addition of the basil leaves on top of their pies for a fresh taste! The Margherita Pie was good, but could've used more garlic. The Pepperoni slice was tasty, as the oil from the pepperoni helped with the drier bread. Highly recommend the Salsiccia pie - the spiciness wasn't overpowering and the ricotta + sausage was so good!! **TIP: Add hot honey on your slice for another layer of yumminess! Small portion of salad - do not recommend. The pasta is nothing special for the price.
I came here because of bozo influencers overhyping everything. My buddy and I first ordered a vodka slice and a plain cheese. We were both disappointed, considering all the over promising, and almost left to go someplace else. Pizza Time and Krispy Pizza both make better vodka sauce in my opinion, but we wanted to try the Piccanti. Those same influencers said it was an off menu item and we had to ask, like it’s a big secret. Wrong, it’s on the menu and has been for years. This isn’t Lucia’s fault at all. Here is the issue though; the Piccanti ($27) has a vodka sauce base, and has pepperoni and hot cherry peppers. I asked for the Piccanti but with regular tomato sauce and one side just pepperoni. Apparently that’s not an option so I had to order a pepperoni pie ($26) which has a tomato base and then add the Piccanti toppings on the other half. Okay I thought, same outcome but it wasn’t until I went to pay that I found out it cost an additional $5 which came out to $31 plus tax. So basically I had to pay $4 more than a full Piccanti costs and received half the toppings just cause I wanted a tomato base. Mind you, everywhere you go a vodka pie is more expensive than a plain cheese. If anything it should have been less than $27 but I would never assume that. Just seems like a weird system they have in place if you want to customize an order. Anyway, the Piccanti redeemed the experience. We both agreed it was very good 9/10. We had a third buddy who was at work and we brought him the pepperoni slices. He can’t handle spicy peppers at all which is the reason we needed one side half pep only. He gave it an 8.7. Would I come back here? Probably not, unless I was in the area. L’Industrie, Pizza Time, Luigi’s, and Krispy are tastier Brooklyn options. I’m glad I got to try another Brooklyn hot spot though.
Pretty good slice shop in south Brooklyn. The standout slice is definitely the hot pepperoni, with the hot honey drizzle on top. Not in the conversation to be the best slice ever as some claim and I’m hesitant to say it lives up to its almost legendary status, but definitely a very good spot that’s worth checking out. Good music, too and great vibes as well.
Pretty cutie pizza shop with seating inside and outside. We got a few slices to share plus the Saturday shrimp pizza. A few hit and misses for the table. I personally prefer the crust with the big air bubbles with a fluffy and light chew with a crisp bottom (not to be mistaken with the thick crust kind). The crust here is super thin and crispy. I couldn’t eat the crust at the end because it was so hard and burnt. The shrimp had the aroma and taste with very little shrimp and could use a touch of salt. The Grandmother was OK. Our favorite was the Salsiccia and vodka.
I especially enjoyed the pepperoni pizza — it’s the best option on the menu and I definitely recommend it 🍕 However, there is one major downside. I’ve been here multiple times, and the tables are always dirty. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to be cleaned, which really affects the overall dining experience. The pizza itself is good, but the cleanliness seriously needs improvement.
First off, have the decency to tell people what comes on top of certain slices. They gave me basically some garlic water sauce all over my mushroom slice and it's not needed and was put on horribly... that sauce literally taste like garlic flavored water. It's disgusting and needs maybe some salt? Def needs salt in the very least. Maybe today's batch was off. Second, and this is just based off my visit today(9/17) but the vibe inside is dead. The folks working today were miserable. The guys preparing slices just slid mine across small counter area and found it no issue to give me my slices in a ripped bag. I even pre-tipped lol and was kind and smiled. I will say the guy behind register did thank me as I walked out, so that was appreciated. I just felt like customers were a bother to the man preparing slices and pies.. which, after reading other reviews, def seems like the normal here. Customers feeling more like a bother than an actual paying customer. Would also be great to see the owner be proactive with the negative reviews because it seems like things haven't changed.
used to be my favorite pizza place now the food is always cold and dry, the mozz sticks were always my favorite and now they are just rubber and burnt. very sad. wish it was better, gave them a few try’s after not having it for a couple years but the quality has just went down.
This place went way downhill over the years. They used be great but now they give worse pizza than I had anywhere else. Pizza is dry, mozzarella sticks are bland and somehow cold annd burnt and they constantly forget items we order online. I don’t know what happened to this place but they are REALLY BAD now. You are better off getting N&D any day.
My husband and I decided to give this place a try today because of the good Google reviews, but unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. The slices we got were dry, tasteless, and barely had any cheese or sauce. The crust was burned and stale, and honestly the pizza had zero flavor — not even “bad,” just no taste at all. If they don’t have many customers buying slices, they should consider making smaller, fresher pies instead of letting slices sit out, and they definitely need to stop being so limited with the cheese and sauce. The service didn’t help either. The girl at the front looked exhausted and upset, didn’t say hello, didn’t smile, and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere right away. We’ll be sticking to Sheepshead Bay’s Delmar Pizza, which is still the best in the area. Hopefully this place improves in the future. Good luck to them.
I ordered a pizza with sausage and garlic. Nowhere on the menu did it say that the sausage was going to be hot and spicy. It was way too spicy for me to eat if I wanted it like that I would have put Tabasco sauce on it. In addition to the sausage being too hot to eat the pie wasn't well done it was literally burnt. When my first order with a place is that bad I know I will never be ordering from them again.
I had high expectations from what I read on their website. I went for my first regular cheese slice yesterday, it was overcooked with three leaves of fresh basil placed on top. I didn’t ask for the basil leaves. I ate half and threw away half. I’m on a hunt for a real Old School slice of Brooklyn pizza. It’s not at this spot.
Unfortunately I’ve given this place 2 try’s . The first they delivered a pepperoni and I ordered a plain. The second time, I ordered a plain and this time it arrived cold, stale, and late. Unfortunately this is the last time I’ll be ordering from here. U can’t even eat this without sipping on a drink. Truly disappointed. Btw I’m literally 6 mins away from this place. It’s like this was premade and then just tossed into the oven.
Gave This place 2 try’s to redeem itself due to the first issue. The first time, I ordered a plain pie for delivery and received a pepperoni, the second time the pizza arrived late, stale and cold. It’s like they had it premade and just threw it in the oven. You can’t even chew and swallow this pizza unless u take a sip of a drink with every bite. Unfortunately this will be the last time. Btw…it’s a 5 min drive from me.
