I had a wonderful vegetable lasagne there tonight and last week, cooked when ordered and absolutely delicious. I ate this surrounded by friendly and helpful staff. Very enjoyable

Fabulous food and great service. It's so good to have well cooked mixed, fresh vegetables instead of the usual chips and a bit of salad.

Found restaurant online and it was my wife's birthday so we wanted to go somewhere nice. We were warmly welcomed and there was a great atmosphere as it was busy. We were well looked after and service was great! We had tempura prawns, soup, salmon in filo pastry and a 12oz fillet steak cooked to perfection. The chef came round all the tables to see how our meals were which was a nice touch. Reasonably priced wine and a few complimentary caramel vodkas rounded off the meal. We had a lovely night out and if we are back in Caleta we will definitely be back!

Exceeded expectations! Service very friendly and professional. Food was outstanding! We had the soup of the day (lentils and bacon), then chicken breast was very soft and juicy, the pork loin was very tasty, and the Beef strips with Dianne sauce was generous and full of flavours. Would give it 10 stars. Very nice touch from the Chef who came to each table to ask how was the food. It shows much care and love. Not something we see often these days and it was very much appreciated. Highly recommend and would come back. Thank you!

We have just eaten at Ascension - chosen based on its reviews. It's every bit as good as we read it was. The atmosphere is just the right level to enjoy, but also not smother your conversation. The staff - super friendly. The food - just delicious. Hot, fresh, full of flavour, and plentiful. A perfect meal to see off a perfect holiday. There are lots of nice places to eat in the resort, but this place is just that bit more.

I made a very late booking at Ascension for tonight. Saw the good reviews on google.Although they were fully booked, Rob kindly squeezed myself and my friend in at 6pm. It was my friend's birthday and it was a fabulous evening. Unexpected birthday decorations at the table were a nice touch. The food was exquisite. The Moroccan lamb and duck were fabulous main courses. Tempura Prawns to start and apple and pear tarte to finish. Service and ambience were superb. Lovely experience. Would thoroughly recommend.

Wanted somewhere to have a nice meal on our last night and wasn't disappointed, we both had the sirloin steak it was cooked to perfection, best steak I've had in years. Staff are so lovely made us feel very welcome. Will be coming back soon

Lovely restaurant and service isn't rushed. We had to book a table but, from what we could tell, each table is only booked out once, so there's plenty of time to enjoy your food. Lots of choice on the menu and reasonably priced. Homemade desserts and one of the best Mojito's I've had. Well worth a visit and we will return if we visit the area again.

Food was delicious - nachos for shared starter, venison/quai and cod for mains (came with a bowl of yummy veggies to share) and ice cream for dessert. Chef came out to speak to us which was a lovely touch. At the of the meal we received a little drink each on the house. Dinner plus jug of sangria = €67. Would recommend 100%. Tried to visit on a Thursday night - booked out. Got a table for the next night. Booking in advance is strongly advised. 👍🏼

Fabulous hosts and food. Everyone should try it but make sure to book as its very popular. I left my glasses there and they kept them safe for me. My partner pre booked the rabbit which was delicious (there is a separate menu of specials that you phone in 1 day in advance) Saying that the "standard" menu which is not "standard" was Superb!!. Highly recommended

Incredible food and service it isn't as cheap as many places to eat but it's also not expensive. The menu is very good for adults with a clever naming strategy for the children's menu. There's lots to choose from on the menu and it's in a busy little square with plenty of indoor and outdoor dining. It does get busy so I'd recommend you book a table. They're closed Sundays.

My husband and I ate here last night. I had their fish of the day when I ask for a sauce the waitress suggested it was best with a light garlic and white wine sauce as the fish has a delicate flavour I'm glad Iisten to her my fish was perfectly cooked husband had the filled steak wrapped in bacon his meal was delicious too the portions are a good size so we didn't have starters bit desert we couldn't miss we shared the trio which was 3 large portions of desert between 2 of us. We will definitely return.

The best restaruant in caleta de fuste. So glad i booked. The food was delicious, quality ingredients cooked beautifully. Fine dining in a relaxed small and friendly atmosphere. Excellent / varied selection on the menu, all the food I saw was beautifully presented. The staff were wonderful. Don't miss this little gem its slightly hidden away near the town centre.

One of those small hidden away gems that you love to come across when travelling. Very pleasant staff. There was a mixup with our order due to linguistic issues but that was swiftly managed with professional and delightful hospitality. Whilst I will still rate 5/5, the "wild berries" I ordered with the Mississippi Mud Pie should have contained, well, more wild berries than just raspberries. Other than that, a perfectly pleasant meal with an unexpected eclectic music selection to complement. We will come back again.

Really welcoming soon as you walk in, the prawns are literally to die for we love the IRN BRU and salt and pepper prawns, been 3 times in last 4 days and will be going tonight as its our last meal so that should say something! All the main courses we have had have been nice, braised rabbit, sea bream, the chicken with an amazing apricot sauce, the lamb which I have quite literally fell in love with. Hands down beats any other red meat I have ever had. I went to bed dreaming about it. The cheesecake is really nice one of the best we also had the Mississippi mud pie which was nice and the brandy case. 120% would recommend this place the chef came out every time and asked us about our food, the servers would stop and talk too us too. Best restaurant by far on this island

Food was delicious! We had the asparagus and broccoli starters, the baked cod and Morrocan lamb mains and the Trio of puds (brandy snap basket of fruit and ice cream, chocolate brownie and white chocolate ice cream and toffee and banana cheesecake). Would definitely recommend!!

This is an English owned restaurant. We skipped appetizers since the couple at thi table next to us had some very tempting desserts. We chose the catch of the day. It was superb! And yes, the desserts were very good. To top it all off, the owner left her hard rock playing list running as background music (instead of standard restaurant background music). Going once more since one can pre-order special dishes (meat looks tempting).

Incredible. We pre ordered the beef Wellington after reading excellent reviews... they weren't wrong! Garlic bread with chorizo and sundried tomatoes as well as the battered Prawns to start, wellingtons for mains then we decided we would try and squeeze in dessert despite being full and dosnt regret that either. Oh My God what a meal. The Scottish chef is a genius with his ingredients. I tried the duck dish with plum sauce mmmmmmmmmm. Make sure you go here at least once while in Caleta! Booking is essential. We booked on FB messenger.

Well what can I say... We have been here for ten days...Then we found Ascension Just wow wow wow. ..food to die for..we had the mixed meat platter for 2....it can feed 4 ..deserts are amazing The Staff are the best on the island by far.... The Chef comes out he lookes like an old sea dog but he is just wonderful. Well done to you all

Even though under current restrictions dining is only permitted outside, that is no problem at Ascension, the food is exquisite the staff so friendly and helpful and with the evenings being so warm, outside Ascension is the Best place to be for Good dining and a Happy atmosphere. I feasted on a starter of iron-bru prawns 😋followed by steak Dianne , Beautiful tender steak in a Creamy full of flavour sauce 😋😁, washed down with a lovely glass of Red and finished with a Gaelic coffee and all at a very reasonable price , I cannot recommend the experience enough

Visited 2nd Nov 2024, with my partner. We had broccoli starter, croquettes, steak tornados, fish of the day, fried dorada. All dishes were great. Service excellent. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant too. Thank you

What a lovely meal! We’ve been here many times and always have a great experience. Beautiful food and lovely staff! I myself had venison and it was cooked perfectly, my partner had the lamb and loved how it was set out on the plate and said it was cooked very well. Definitely recommend! ❤️

We had to make reservations to get a table and we now know why...delicious food! If you visit CDF, this is a real treat. We had fish of the day and the stuffed chicken with fresh veggies, all superb. Very friendly staff and great service.

Excellent food and lovely staff. Orders take a while because they cook them right then and there for you. Had the vegetable lasagna - brilliant. And a banana cheesecake to top it off that was out of this world. I would probably not recommend this place if you're vegetarian since they have very non meat options.

Best rated restaurant in the area for a reason. Great place to enjoy locally sourced, super tasty food. It's located on a little artifical square were live music was played. The square for me is a little cheap with plastic chairs fir the restaurants around it but it's a place where many little restaurants are located, also the Ascension. Inside the restaurant it looked very comfy but we preferred outside was it was pretty loud and crowed inside. We were served quickly and very friendly by the English native service and got explained the different food options. Everything got served pretty fast and was super tasty. Dedintly a go in this area if you want tocescape your buffet dinner or fancy some really good food

Like everyone else during this pandemic, I miss the ambience of eating at a restaurant. After a long hike in the south, I just felt like eating out. This restaurant satisfied and exceeded my expectation in deliciousness and atmosphere. I had the shrimp for an appetizer, the market fish for main, and mud pie for dessert (a must). The owners were very friendly, and they take a lot of pride in their food. If you have a chance, I would definitely come back again!

Credit where credit is due!!... ate here twice during our stay in the region and took my father here for his 70th Birthday, it was a large table but as others have reflected, beautiful ambience within the resturant, attentive service, food outstanding. Staff are very polite and hard working we hadn't booked but they fitted us in. The baked cod with lemongrass was well cooked and tasted lovely. Two of us had the sea bass and one the lamb all cooked to perfection and served with an accompaniment of lovely vegetables. We are going back tonight it was so nice.

We recently dined at a Ascension restaurant to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and were thoroughly impressed. Recommended by our neighbours, the restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. I ordered the salmon, while my wife chose the lamb, and both dishes were exceptional. For dessert, we enjoyed an apple-based dish, which was beautifully presented and delicious. The ambiance was perfect, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service, provided by a waitress who we believe was the owner, was impeccable. Overall, we couldn't fault any aspect of the experience and highly recommend this restaurant.

Really lovely local restaurant with delicious food and very welcoming staff. We arrived as a party of 8 without reservation and they managed to squeeze us in. The kids menu was brilliant with the names of the different dishes - very clever. The selection of vegetables that came with the main meal were superb. Worth hunting out off the main square area and made a welcome change to the pizza and burgers that are all you can get everywhere else. Cheesecake was amazing 🤩

We also had the Pork loin with apple and chestnut which was delicious as well. A bottle of Protos Ribiera rounded out our meal. All in, a very nice meal accompanied with a visit from a friendly black cat who apparently arrives nightly for a bite to eat from the kitchen. Highly recommended for a nice meal out.

On y est allé, suite à la note de Google et juste pour ça. Surprise de découvrir, sur place, que c’était un restaurant très anglais, nous qui apprécions manger local… Nous aimons tester donc go : atmosphère intérieure anglaise, accueil tout en anglais et plats, sur le menu, très anglais aussi. Ces plats étaient goutus, pas insipides du tout, pas mal de sauce, ça change de deux semaines de cuisine canarienne. Nos plats : poitrine de dinde aux cranberries et couscous revisité, celui ci avait un très bon agneau mais il manquait un « liant » entre tout cela genre un jus de viande. Eau gratuite ! Grand verre de vin généreux ! L’addition était un peu haute (80€) mais nous ne nous sommes pas privés. Service souriant et disponible, un restaurant anglais qui fait de bons petits plats.

Nice restaurant but the portions were small. I had the Salmon in fillo pastry and it was similar in size to a small sausage roll. Then we were given 1 small bowl of mixed vegetables and a few potatoes for three people. This is oK if you are not hungry but we were. Staff were pleasant and atmosphere was nice. Our first time at this restaurant.

Great place that try's very hard to serve fine dining , and nearly succeeds, but and there is a but , the side portions that accompany the main dish are very very small , and are really not enough for on average two people. The main courses are Devine and there is something for all tastes , but as stated if let down with the side dishes that need to be with the main course. There are many places around this area that are trying to attract customers with fine dining ,and the prices eco this , but i feel they are forgetting that this is a holiday destination and if we are to pay top prices then we expect a little bit extra, and my my disappointment with this nice place that i will try again, is that we booked a table at 7.30 and it took over an hour to get our starters , although in saying that , they did apologise and took the wine off the bill. All in all we enjoyed the food and hope that feedback will improve the side portions .nothing wrong with some constructive criticism.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Caleta de Fuste, where good food is difficult to come by. Most food in this area is bland, luckily you have duck ravioli and venison steak in this restaurant, so your tongue gets to taste something. Drinks are in generous portions. The older male waiter was grumpy from the start, but one of the 2 owners is also doing service and Mandy is great! She is very attentive and with her at the helm and her partner in the kitchen it should be a mainstay for a long time. Ps. The rosti is not their strong suit. Make sure to ask for a crispy one.

A average good restaurant with some interesting food choices. Worthy of a visit and to eat here. However I have marked down a star for some slight weirdness. Firstly, I called up to make a booking, asking for 8pm. The lady said they were fully booked for the week, and we were leaving on Thursday. Shame, but we wanted to try, I asked if there was any other day, but she said they were fully booked for the week. So a day or two later we tried again, this time another lady said we could come before 8pm and book us in for 7pm. So we did, and I don't understand why the first lady didn't offer us a table. I know restaurant bookings come and go, but it just felt like she didn't want to bother booking us in for any other table sitting. I took it that they are really exclusive to turn people away and their food must be really good.... Sadly not really, ok not great. Some of the dishes are really hit and miss. My wife's starter the chicken liver pate was great, and really enjoyed it. But her main, the baked cod was over baked, and the sauce was very bland. I don't know what it is about Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura but some restaurants over cook fish until rubber. This was not a good dish at all. My starter the Duck Ravioli was again a little bland, and the sauce felt watered down. I couldn't taste anything. But my main course the Morrcan Lamb Fillets was juicy and delicious, and really paired well with the Cous Cous. So we came out loving half our meal and the other half really brought it down. It was ok and perhaps this was our fault as based on previous reviews on the place we were expecting something more. And yet I can't say we had a bad experience, just a little disappointing. The staff was friendly and very chatty. Not sure, but English Expat living over here. So the language barrier not an issue and she was very nice.

We pre booked this in the UK on Facebook as the restaurant does not have a website and they do not answer the phone. Our table was ready for us on arrival and menus were given. We ordered 3 mains, lamb, pork chops and duck. Each table is given a bowl of piping hot mixed vegetables for the table to accompany. The only slight disappointment was the flavour of the cherry sauce with the duck dish- it needed a bit more ooomff! We ordered the delicious cheeseboard with port for dessert and the bill was ‘served’ with obligatory caramel vodka! Delicious! Well done to all the team and good luck in the future!

Kleines, unscheinbares Restaurant was ein wenig abseits des Zentrums liegt. Aber ein Besuch ist es definitiv wert. Gutes Essen zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Und wenn man Glück hat und richtig sitzt besucht einen auch eine Katze!

We booked on advise from others and ordered 2 steaks. We had the fillet with peppercorn sauce and another with Bernaise. Both were lovely but some or the veg was overly salty which I left. The service was great from both ladies waiting on. I have given this a 4 because of the saltiness.

We pre booked this in the UK on Facebook as the restaurant does not have a website and they do not answer the phone. Our table was ready for us on arrival and menus were given. We ordered 3 mains, lamb, pork chops and duck. Each table is given a bowl of piping hot mixed vegetables for the table to accompany. The only slight disappointment was the flavour of the cherry sauce with the duck dish- it needed a bit more ooomff! We ordered the delicious cheeseboard with port for dessert and the bill was ‘served’ with obligatory caramel vodka! Delicious! Well done to all the team and good luck in the future!

A average good restaurant with some interesting food choices. Worthy of a visit and to eat here. However I have marked down a star for some slight weirdness. Firstly, I called up to make a booking, asking for 8pm. The lady said they were fully booked for the week, and we were leaving on Thursday. Shame, but we wanted to try, I asked if there was any other day, but she said they were fully booked for the week. So a day or two later we tried again, this time another lady said we could come before 8pm and book us in for 7pm. So we did, and I don't understand why the first lady didn't offer us a table. I know restaurant bookings come and go, but it just felt like she didn't want to bother booking us in for any other table sitting. I took it that they are really exclusive to turn people away and their food must be really good.... Sadly not really, ok not great. Some of the dishes are really hit and miss. My wife's starter the chicken liver pate was great, and really enjoyed it. But her main, the baked cod was over baked, and the sauce was very bland. I don't know what it is about Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura but some restaurants over cook fish until rubber. This was not a good dish at all. My starter the Duck Ravioli was again a little bland, and the sauce felt watered down. I couldn't taste anything. But my main course the Morrcan Lamb Fillets was juicy and delicious, and really paired well with the Cous Cous. So we came out loving half our meal and the other half really brought it down. It was ok and perhaps this was our fault as based on previous reviews on the place we were expecting something more. And yet I can't say we had a bad experience, just a little disappointing. The staff was friendly and very chatty. Not sure, but English Expat living over here. So the language barrier not an issue and she was very nice.

Piacevole sorpresa. Ho mangiato gli asparagi avvolti col bacon e il pollo ripieno di pistacchio con salsa di albicocche e devo dire che era tutto buono. Molto buona anche la torta di queso con banana e caramello. Nota negativa…i tavoli e i muri erano rovinati(più in stile pub che ristorante) e faceva un caldo terribile.

Staff are lovely but the place is too hot and stuffy, food just OK, hubby had the pork served with apple and chestnut compote, he got a slice of raw apple and not a chestnut in sight, apple looked like it shouldn't have been there. My duck looked plentiful and delicious but it was deceiving as I could only eat a small part of it which was tender but the rest was fatty and chewy as skin wasn't rendered to make it crisp, i had to keep spitting it out.. yuk...veg very nice, can't say its much more than mediocre.

Food excellent. Service terribile. I won't go there any more. And furthermore only cash! No credit cards

The place is overrated for sure. Google location in not accurate, so we spinned around for 15 minutes. Second impression was the heavy smell of old rotten house. On the toilet is even more dominant, but your focus should be a continuous movement, otherwise you'll be left in darkness by the motion sensor, who turns off way too fast. All that, before ordering. No way Ascension deserves more than 3 stars.

Purtroppo nonostante fosse indicato l’orario di chiusura alle 22.00, alle 21 non ci hanno fatto accomodare perché la cucina era chiusa! Trovo assurdo che un ristorante non rispetti gli orari indicati sul sito! Servizio pessimo

Christmas day lunch spoilt,awful food,long wait, everything cold,no apology ! I felt so sorry for everyone who had dressed up for this special occasion,never ever again is what most people where saying,we only went because we thought Rob would be cooking,we all should of been told and then we could of made other arrangements. Everyone that went to both sittings that day should be given a refund ,what a shame.

No hablan castellano, un día nos dijeron que la cocina estaba cerrada a las 21h, y al día siguiente fuimos una hora antes , ( el restaurante estaba medio vacío) y nos dijeron que no había mesas hasta dentro de tres días. Todo en un fabuloso inglés.

Si no eres de fuera no te atienden si quiera.!!A las 20:30 nos dicen que tienen la cocina cerrada y los camareros ni papa de hablar castellano…

Si eres español no vayas, a no ser que quieras sentirte extranjero en tu propio pais.

Llegamos a las 20.50 y nos dicen que no tienen mesa con el restaurante vacío. Le hablamos en español y sólo nos responde en inglés. Un poco de respeto por la gente local.
