Very nice & friendly staff, with an amazing setting right next to the lake. All open air covered eating area, with picnic tables spread out around the main part, and chairs to sit & relax in. They have an old pontoon boat as their stage for when they are having live music. They have docks you can pull your boat up to, to stop an eat while on the lake. The food was great, very tasty, of good portion size, and not too badly priced as well. Good little date night place.

GREAT FOOD! Good quick service and friendly family atmosphere. Serve drinks from the bar, reasonable prices. Got the sliders and they were amazing!! BBQ restaurant

The food and drinks aren't the greatest thing about this place. The atmosphere and accessibility by boat and vehicle are! I'd go back for a beer but not for food or mixed drinks. The atmosphere carries this place! I recommend it for a casual stop and maybe some chips and queso.

We are here just for convenience when we were putting our boat in. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was great. Our food was good & reasonably priced. I would have given them 5 stars on food but the mahi in the tacos was a little overcooked. My bushwhacker was one of the best I've ever had. Great views of the lake. We will definitely be back.

Great little place! Been trying to get here since we moved out this way, it was worth the wait. Had the fish and shrimp tacos, the tropical and island sliders, and the potato salad. Yum! Not bad for a side-of-the-road on-the-lake kinda place. Bloody Mary was excellent, good beer choices. Excellent view of the lake, tunes overhead, people watching, what more can you want?

I would give you 5 stars if you had given me a fork and some napkins to eat my to go salad with. Pay attention to detail especially on a rainy day. So now I'm eating a salad with my hands in my car in the rain. Also non locals do not know to make their own drink what am I tipping for if you can't even get my drink Fun times...

Nice little stop on the way to Huntsville from Atlanta... BBQ nachos were good, grits and fish tacos 👍 and the mahi with bacon sandwich was good (a bit too salty). No AC but lots of shade in and out. Right on the lake, would be nice for boaters.

Loved the atmosphere but it was over a hour for our food and it was cold when we got it. The other people we ate with had hot food at the same time we got ours. It was a pretty simple order just sampler slider, quesadilla burger and grilled chicken sandwich. I understand made to order but don't make half the table and let everything get cold while serving the other half hot food.

Stopped by today (Sunday 10/19) and they were closed - phone message says ‘closed for the winter’ Plan to remove the 1 star once they update their hours

Just went to fish. No luck. Edit: After a snappy response from the owner when I made it clear I was only reviewing the fishing, in retrospect I will also never visit the restaurant now. That's for sure.

Jake's advertises a pet friendly patio. I even called and asked if they discriminated against any pet? I told them I have a pet ball python, and that I take him everywhere with me. I was told to bring him and have a good time. I drove over an hour, looking forward to enjoying my evening. When I arrived, I was confronted with a very, hateful lady. I explained that I had called and received permission, but she wouldn't allow it. She wouldn't listen, and demanded that I take "that nasty thing" away immediately!!!!! Needless to say, even without my snake, I will NEVER give Jake's By the Lake, another chance!!!!!!
