The Original Steak38 Cherry Hill

Went to Steak38 for the first time last night, but I can confidently say it will not be our last. We love trying new places but Steak38 far exceeded our expectations! From the atmosphere to the service everything was impeccable! Our waiter Rob was fantastic and the food was perfectly prepared. In addition to the carrot cake they also brought out tiramisu to celebrate my birthday! Thank you Steak38 for the best celebration! We look forward to dining with you again soon!

We have heard great things about Steak38 and decided to give it a try. We went here on Christmas Eve. They have valet parking which is a plus. We enjoyed the great customer service and the attention to details that the staff displayed. They were so professional and very polite. It is something that we don't see much anymore when dining out; however, Steak38's staff were exceptional! We loved the food and the outstanding treatment we received. The inside decor is also outstanding. We'll definitely come back to Steak38 again. Thank you for the wonderful service.

After many years of saying “I want to try that place” Finally did! Steak 38 = Excellent!

We had an amazing time! We started off with the Calamari and it was so tasty. My husband had the NY strip with the expresso rub and it was one of the best steaks he’s ever had. My fillet mignon was delicious. Drinks were excellent and the dessert was sooo good!

This was a great dining experience from start to finish with excellent food! Our server Sam was truly the star of the night. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and offered great recommendations. Not to mention we had the pleasure of hearing him sing a few tunes throughout the night. The food came out at a great pace that did not make the dining experience feel rushed which was appreciated. Overall 10/10 experience and will be back!

Dawn is such an amazing bartender and always has the best recommendations! We went for happy hour but also got the prime rib and ribeye, both were cooked perfectly and so yummy!! We also got some of the happy hour apps & drinks and everything was absolutely delicious!

Excellent experience. The location is a little strange being attached to an old motel but don't let that fool you. The ambiance inside is excellent and the decor is cozy and comfortable. The waiter and all employees are super friendly and attentive to all of your needs. The most important part of any review is the food and this is where they shine. My steak was done perfectly and was very juicy. The entrees are somewhat on the pricy side but the quality and flavor are what you are paying for.

We had a party of 5 in February at the Cherryhill location. First time there and we DEFINITELY will be back. Everything we all ordered from appetizers to soup to dinner and cocktails was fantastic. We had no room for dessert sadly but we will be back.

Had a fantastic work dinner here. The place is right out of the movie Good fellas. It has a super retro looking, cozy bar. And the oysters Rockefeller were amazing during happy hour! Drinks were nice and stiff too. For dinner I had the porterhouse which was huge. Overall I had a wonderful night! Thanks and we’ll be back!

My husband and I dined here for the first time tonight. It won't be our last. We were greeted by a very nice hostess. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and very clean and spacious. We had an above and beyond server named Dan. He was very polite and attentive. Extremely personable. He took the time to go over all the dinner specials and answer all of our questions. The food was very hot and fresh. My husband ordered the filet mignon topped with jumbo crab special. The filet was cooked perfect. I enjoyed the chicken parmesan. It was a very large portion. The bread was made fresh and brought out warm from the oven. We topped it off with very good chocolate cake a la mode. We look forward to going back .

Great Steak House... a little in the cut, we almost drove passed it. Small in the inside but intimate... the food, service & drinks are phenomenal! Our waiter Sam, is a beast! He's polite, courteous, patient & he sings!!! The banana Foster is great & they cook it right at your table! The seafood is fresh...one of the best lobster tails I had...so was the shrimp cocktail! Will definitely recommend & will be back! Thanks for accommodating us on my Birthday Sam! We had a blast!

This was our first visit. We had a wonderful meal great experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Must try the Caesar salad for two and the prime rib. Highly recommend it.

This might not seem like your ordinary steakhouse looking from at the outside. Once you are inside you will be more than pleased with the service, food and ATMOSPHERE! Cocktail Drinks we all incredible. The food was amazing. We got bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer this were very tasty. The Mac and cheese as a side. It doesn’t disappoint at all especially when it come to the cheese. The ribeye as my entrée melt in you mouth delicious steak. I wanted the Prime Rib but apparently they sell out early in the even. So if you are looking for that get an early reservation and expect a wait even if you made a reservation. We made a 7PM RESERVATION got there early not knowing what this place was. We had to wait until 7:30 to get seated. As soon as I had their bread and the herb butter I knew I was in for a nice treat. Last but not least we got the Banana Foster for dessert everyone was getting and it absolutely fills the room with its aroma so you know I couldn’t pass that up!! Definitely check it out. Don’t judge it as it’s connected to a Motel.

Do not let the outside fool you! I found this restaurant on a whim a few years back. Finally went for NYE celebration and now I’m a huge fan. Expresso rubbed rib-eye immaculate taste. The table side made banana foster absolutely delicious. This place is a must visit. I think the prices were very reasonable.

We were so excited when Steak 38 opened after the building had been closed for so long. We were not disappointed. We go at least every other week and sit at the bar after work on a sat night. Not only is the food consistently amazing, but our favorite bartender Alex is simply the best. Friendly, funny and the bright spot of our visit. I can only assume she is a manager because she runs the bar meticulously. Eugino (Gino) is newer to us but is a friendly, courteous bartender as well. They make our visit fun and treat us like family! Order the Daou Cabernet with the prime rib flatbread (you won’t be disappointed) and tell Alex we said hi!

We had the best night ever with Joey and Ro. They were outstanding. It was impressive how the two of them were able to work as a team to take care of an entire room from drinks to dessert on a busy night and somehow made it look effortless. Joey has a great personality. Ro was very genuine and kind and worked hard to make sure everyone was having a great dinner. They made our special event extra special. Thank you Joey and Ro! We'll be back to see you both soon!

Amazing steak house! Our NY strip and filet were cooked to perfection. The honey chipotle butter on the NY strip was delicious! The drinks were top notch as well! Highly recommend if you're celebrating or just want a phenomenal steak.

We celebrated my husband's birthday last night at Steak38 in Cherry Hill. The atmosphere is very old school Rat Pack steakhouse and was great. We were greeted very warmly by staff, and were led right to our table. I had let them know we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation, and they mentioned it right away and had a card made for my husband, which was a nice touch. I had also included information that for his last 3 birthday dinners, we have been to steakhouses that have not cooked his steak correctly (medium rare - it's not weird or anything) and asked to please please break the string of unfortunate steak dinners. They went above and beyond. We got the steak for two - salad was made tableside by Joe, who was a delight, and then Pete brought out beautiful filets that were cooked to perfection. It was a great meal and a perfect night, and we will definitely come back. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

The food was awesome and the service was awesome. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Great experience overall.I’ll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful time at Steak 38. The entire staff was incredibly warm and inviting, and servers like Joe, Pete, Kira, Michelle, Gino, Robbie, and Aneli made the experience even better. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

One of the best meals I’ve had. Anniversary dinner for my wife and I. Waitress checked on us just the right amount. Steaks cooked and seasoned to perfection. A gentleman was playing beautiful solo guitar Spanish and jazz for the perfect mood. Definitely will be returning next year for our anniversary, or even just stop by the bar to have some perfect cocktails.

I enjoyed everything about the experience here and the food was delicious. The lobster bisque was flavorful and full of lobster. The steak was cooked perfectly. The crab cake was huge and had little filler. The lobster ravioli was delicious. Try the butter cake and espresso martini too. And our waiter Rob was outstanding.

All around a great place. Food was awesome, the server Rob knocked it out the park. They did over cook my wife's steak, but we're super quick to correct it. Old school sinatra vibe to the place. Good drink menu.

Me, my friend and her fiancé celebrated my promotion to a new job site for purpose and opportunity. We had a reservation ahead of time and upon arrival, we were met with such courtesy from the hostess. Our waiter Rob was a native from the state: knowledgeable on so many cultural idiosyncrasies; he certainly added value to our service. Our experience with him was humorous, memorable. It was impactful and inspirational. His acumen on each menu item was astounding. You would almost think he was the actual chef that created the menu. We felt welcomed, as though we have gone there many times before, and it was personally my first time. When I come back in the local area, this place is well worth returning for more fond memories. Had an amazing dinner here for my fiancées birthday. We had the Caesar salad made by Rob right at our table and I wouldn’t change a thing they were phenomenal. We then got steak and crab cake (recommended by our server Sam) and the crab cake was filled to the brim with fresh crab meat. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The service provided by Sam and Rob was the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We felt like family. If you’re lucky enough to catch Sam singing at your table you’re in for a treat!

Never had a bad meal here. Calamari is so good. I wish they offered some more sides like a thick slab of bacon or something. Love the live music and old school vibe. Must try.

The entire staff here was phenomenal. A special shout out to the server team Pete & Joe. They made the night very special and enjoyable for our family. Overall a great place to eat

Visited Steak 38 in Cherry Hill during the holiday season. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller as our appetizer. Honestly, these were underwhelming. The flavor just didn’t hit right, I’d rate them around 3/10. For the main course, I had the Seafood Fra Diablo with a white wine sauce — absolutely phenomenal. It came loaded with lobster and whole pieces of crab meat, and everything blended perfectly. This dish was hands down a 10/10 and something I’d definitely order again. Others at the table had the Ribeye with garlic topping, asparagus, and a side of mac and cheese. The ribeye was described as “good”— a well-cooked steak but nothing that stood out. The mac and cheese, however, was creamy, 7.5/10. For drinks, we went with 38 Cosmos, which were strong, well-balanced, and delicious — perfect if you like your cocktails with a little kick.

The food was absolutely amazing. We loved the goat cheese crostini, and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the ribeye. The cheesecake was also very good. The drinks were also so yummy. I loved the lemon drop that our server, Peter, recommended. Peter was very attentive, we even received some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. The atmosphere is nice and romantic with good music. My only complaint was the complimentary valet parking was not valet parking at all. The attendants were on their phone did not give us any direction besides waving us back. When we parked they told us we had to move and park along the motel which did not set the mood at all and was a further distance from the restaurant. I saw them do the same for other guests, not once did I see the attendant get off his phone to actually assist.

The place is a small place. However, the ambiance was awesome. Great music played softly in the background. The food was good. I had crab cakes. Although delicious, I wouldn't say best in New Jersey. The place was a bit on the pricey side, but the service and ambiance made up for it. I loved the warm seeded dinner bread and butter. The chocolate martini was huge and delicious at the same time. Moira, the waitress, was very attentive and provided exceptionally great service. Valet parking was included. Overall, I would recommend this place.

It was a surprisingly good meal. We asked for a virgin drink and was brought a passion fruit martini. It was delicious. The food for the price was good. The truffle French fries were delicious. The steak is ok, I got the filet and again, for the price it was a good steak. What made this a great meal was the service, and funky atmosphere.

The food was good, service was good too. The place was dim lit. Perfect for a date night. My steak was cooked just like I asked. Overall, I would definitely return.

Had to come to the original after loving the tabernacle location! This location is much smaller but high class don’t let the curb appeal fool you. 2 of the 6 of us were 10 mins late due to traffic and waited over an hr past our reservation time. Nevertheless check out the amazing fair from this high end steak house.

Food was pretty good. Caesar Salad 5*, Bananas Foster 5*, Ribeye 4*, Chicken 3*. It was hot and loud. Are server was very helpful and actually comp’d dessert because food was slow coming out. But they were also very busy. Finally - this is a nice place for a decent steak dinner. Definitely recommend the table side Caesar and table side bananas foster!

Delicious.. decided to come here based on recommendations for my birthday dinner and couldn’t be more impressed. I don’t normally eat beef but wanted a steak and was blown away by this place. The table side Caesar salad was so fresh and yummy. The steak was tender and for my first time having bananas foster , wow! To top it off, our server, Robert gave us a backstory on the location and we were so intrigued. I would recommend to anybody for a date night, dinner, any night

Went here for hubby's bday and had a great experience. The place looks sketchy and we almost left but don't let that deter you. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome. The waitress was also very nice and took time to explain the menu. We ordered oysters, tableside ceasar salad, seafood Diablo, crab cakes, macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes fries. All of the food was delicious. The drinks were decent. We also ordered the bananas foster and chocolate lava cake which were also good. We will be back and recommend for a nice dinner.

Overall a fairly mediocre experience. Looks outside are super sketchy but inside is a fairly inviting old school steakhouse. Reception and drinks at the bar were great. Our actual server however was dull and lifeless, explaining nothing with no pleasantries. Just an order taker. Tableside caesar again was lifeless, the server looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but there while "performing". The actual salad was meh. The romaine was old with a bad texture. 4/10 caesar. Bread came late but was a highlight, warm and delicious. The lobster bisque was the star of the meal, excellent flavor and preparation. Surf and turf looked amazing, but was quite bland. The filet was cooked perfectly but tasted unseasoned (too light on the salt), not much flavor. Lobster was good Banana's foster desert - was OKAY. Pet peeve when the dump the piping hot bananas right on top of the ice cream so it instantly turns into a melted soup. Much better to prepare and serve with a little spacing so the ice cream doesn't instantly melt. Overall, not terrible, but not great. Will stick with the steakhouses in the city.

Underwhelming exterior, but it was during the snow and cold. Inside, not much better. Not a place that makes one think about spending serious amounts. Everyone friendly and courteous, but the food is supposed to be the star, and it wasn't where it needed to be. At a restaurant charging this amount, the expectation should be for perfection from start to finish. Sadly, the bread was nothing special, the seats small and uncomfortable. The steak though was the real letdown. Was there some compromise that had to be made because of the outside temperature? Don't know, but the steaks were at best, average. I ordered a ribeye at medium, it was more medium well. It was swimming in butter, along with the sides. The steak didn't taste as though it came off a grill. It didn't taste fresh. The desert was the only bright point, but that ended up being one expensive bill to get one satisfactory item. Every business has an off night, and maybe this was the case for my visit. Still, it was an expensive miss for me.

My server Peter C, checked on when the food came. I had to send a search party for him when I was ready to leave. I wanted to spend more money even though I already spent $50 on 2 drinks from the bar. I'm the scout team as we look for a steakhouse to eat at when we're in town. We'll generally drop $300-$400 a night at a good steakhouse. The service here fell way short of expectation. I don't believe I'll be returning.
