I ADORE the atmosphere of Beatrix!🤩 It is SO cute! We stopped in to get coffee as we walked around the city but if we had more time I would have loved to stay a while. Their lattes were fantastic. It was very busy when we went but there were tons of people hanging out while playing games and just chatting. I absolutely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
Coffee is fantastic. Food was perfectly prepared. I had the Chimichurri Steak and eggs... (drool). Our server, Brittany was quick to respond, accommodating, humorous, and an overall delight.
This place never disappoints! The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Britany was our server today and she was so warm and welcoming. I love coming here for girls brunches or when friends and family visit from out of town.
I love the vibes here. The lighting, atmosphere, music, furniture. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a nicer meal. I came here for dinner and got the vodka pasta and it was great! Perfect portion for me. My friend got the salmon and the presentation was so elegant and the quality was amazing. We got the tall, dark, and handsome chocolate cake for dessert and it was rich and decadent in flavor. This place is perfect for a date. They also have a cute cafe at the front with amazing looking pasties and unique drink options. Although it was on the pricier side (around $100 for 2 people and a dessert) it’s a great place for celebrating an occasion.
This place is so aesthetically pleasing, I'm loving The Vibes. The menu is very healthy and delicious, unfortunately I cannot eat everything I wanted to eat in one visit so I will be back! Definitely a nice place to chill for brunch 💖💖 everything tasted fresh and they have fresh squeezed juices as well!!! If you're a health nut I feel like you'll love this place !!
Okay, couple things. Top marks for Lilly, my server who was energetic and happy to be at work. Said she was normally behind the bar, but she’s a natural server as well. Great presence. Coffee here is on point. And just look at that omelette! Protip for the eggwhite omelette order - ask for the cooks to go easy on the butter. Definitely stop here and grab breakfast. Update: came by a second time and got something different. Erin helped me this time and I highly recommend the yogurt with the “orange chia honey.” Quite unique!
Every visit to Chicago, Beatrix is on the list. Stellar service. Eclectic playlist. Extensive menu. Branched out today to try the chilaquiles. On point with a little kick. Eggshell was a wonderful server. Vibrant energy and conversational.
An excellent upscale eatery with a wide selection of wines, a good variety of cocktails and beers, and a nice side menu of cafe offerings (tea and coffee lattes). Very attentive and friendly service with a great atmosphere.
A relaxed ambiance, delectable cuisine, and exceptional service characterize this establishment. Eggs were made exactly as requested, pancakes very fluffy and soft, and hash browns were crispy. Would definitely come back again!
had an amazing brunch here at Beatrix. The service is really good and the food is awesome. The lemon pancakes are ridiculously good and the eggs. The waffles were all great. It was a bit too much salt on the avocado toast, but not that big a deal. Will definitely come back again really had a good time.
Solid showing with a modern Caesar. Great atmosphere and super nice staff. The fries were a bit overboard, but I still ate too many.
went for valentines dinner and service was excellent! our starters were great, whipped feta (swapped the crackers for pita), spicy tuna rice delicious, and entrees satiating. short rib tender and savory. good portion sizes for the price. clean environment and the music was perfect noise level. server was very helpful and personable. will definitely go again maybe for brunch!
Beatrix is a great brunch spot in Chicago, it’s pricey but it’s also does tastes good. Came here for the first time with my friends for brunch and it was great. Great experience, service, and also been in the matcha game lately, and the matcha was great.
Food was amazing, service was also amazing but suffered from a slow kitchen with it being a busy day. This was our new year’s brunch.
Fantastic Belgian waffles! They were dense, fluffy, and tasty! Very filling and reasonably priced. The chai latte was also very good and pleased my palette. Friendly service and urban atmosphere. Would recommend and go back for more!
Stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning. While brunch technically only runs on the weekends, cocktails are available during their weekday breakfast service. The espresso martinis are amazing - they use real espresso, which can be hard to find these days. Breakfast burrito is full of flavor and not too spicy.
Good Old fashioned hearty comfort food. They are delicious! And the portion is quite generous. They're desserts are delicious, but leaning a bit on the sweeter side (too sweet for me, but probably okay for most). The vibe is very good, with upbeat music to energize your day. And the service is excellent. Our waiter gave very good recommendations.
Lovely brunch/ lunch spot. Mondays half off wine. Had Cava Rosé. Reserved via Open Table and had a wonderful time!
Went here for a Galentine’s Day brunch with friends and it also happened to be restaurant week and tried that menu. Really loved what I got and enjoyed my meal and my experience here. Food was great and appreciated my experience here. The place was super busy when we walked in so definitely recommend having a reservation.
Food was excellent waitress was very nice and helpful. Clean and safe environment right in the heart of everything definitely will be coming back . Prices are excellent too.
Amazing healthy options! great service, they squeezed us in as a walk in even though they were busy. The buffalo cauliflower was SO GOOD. I got a dirty chai and the straight a salad
Definitely a hot spot in the Fulton Market neighborhood. The baked goods at the coffee shop in front taste as good as they look. The apple oatmeal cookie was stellar and tied us over while we waited for our table. The shakshouka was the best! All food was good and the portions generous. Popular place, so recommend reservations if you don’t want a long wait for a weekend brunch.
We had a fantastic breakfast/brunch at Beatrix in Fulton Market! It was very convenient as it's one of the few upscale brunch spots that opens on the earlier side. We were seated promptly, had wonderful service, everything was super clean, food arrived hot...I can't wait to return! Here are a few of my suggestions: the Lemon Pancakes were as good as I was hoping - very light and fluffy, and very flavorful. If you are looking for a delicious coffee, the Cinnamon Bun Latte is the perfect start to the morning. The ham and cheese croissant and the breakfast sandwich also got high marks from my family. And I never miss dessert and I'm still dreaming about the Caramel Pie. If you love caramel, this is a winner! Thanks to Beatrix for a wonderful Sunday brunch - we'll be back!
Great food and wonderful service! Our server Alex was amazing, so make sure to ask for him!! 🩷🩷
One of my all time favorite spots for breakfast/brunch in Chicago. Recommend the Steak and Eggs, Avocado Toast and Yogurt Parfait
Stopped in for a date night with my wife. The food was AMAZING! Our server, Chelsea was attentive with a personable attitude. There was a concern for my wife and I. We shared this concern with our server, Chelsea and a manager, Andres. That concern was handled with care from both parties! Thank you for your great customer service!
Beatrix Fulton Market: Culinary Highs and a Minor Misstep Beatrix in Fulton Market effortlessly blends a chic, modern atmosphere with a welcoming neighborhood vibe, making it a popular spot in one of Chicago’s trendiest districts. The spacious interior, filled with natural light and stylish touches, creates an ideal setting for anything from a casual brunch to an evening meal. The culinary offerings at Beatrix largely impress, showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful execution. The food, for the most part, was undeniably great, a testament to the kitchen's skill. A particular standout, and a definite must-try, were the lemon pancakes. These fluffy, zesty delights were truly delicious, striking a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and easily a highlight of the meal. They alone are reason enough for a return visit. However, not every dish hit the mark. While the majority of our selections were excellent, the chimichurri steak unfortunately fell short. It lacked the vibrant punch and tenderness expected from a well-prepared steak with this classic sauce, proving to be the only minor disappointment among an otherwise stellar lineup. Service at Beatrix was commendably good. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, contributing positively to the overall dining experience without being intrusive. Combined with the appealing atmosphere, the service ensured a comfortable and enjoyable visit. In essence, Beatrix Fulton Market offers a generally excellent dining experience. While the chimichurri steak was a slight miss, the overall quality of the food, especially those delightful lemon pancakes, coupled with good service and a fantastic atmosphere, makes it a highly recommendable destination in Chicago.
Loved our breakfast at Beatrix! The pastries were amazing, and the shakshouka was a standout—so flavorful. The avocado dish was fresh and satisfying. The kids enjoyed everything, and the coffee hit the spot. Cozy vibe, great service—highly recommend!
My fiancée has a Gluten allergy and they were really accommodating and making sure she was able to have gluten-free options! They have a whole dedicated gluten-free menu with a ton of options! I even got gluten-free toast with my meal and it was the best gluten-free toast I’ve ever tried. The service here was great, and the food was phenomenal! 10/10!
The chilaquiles and lemon pancakes are very good. The service is great. The prices competitive. Thank you for a wonderful brunch. 06-08-2025 well things change , the service is very bad the hostess staff does not seem to care their version of a few minutes after we have a reservation is 30-45 minutes of waiting, the staff need to be reminded that they are an expense and customers are a source of revenue. After waiting for almost one hour we went to Stan Cafe 522 n Milwaukee avenue, the staff is friendly and professional quick service. We also found bugs in Beatrix floor while waiting if there are bugs there what’s in the kitchen.
Chilaquiles, lemon pancakes and bloody Mary’s for brunch. All delicious. I recommend getting the eggs over easy or over medium rather than the scrambled offered on the menu. Super cute patio for girls brunch!
Beatrix is one of those spots that nails the vibe every time, laid-back yet polished, perfect for anything from brunch to a casual nightcap. The highlight for me? Hands down the best Old Fashioned in Chicago. Their take on the classic is next-level, infused with chai spice for a warm, aromatic kick, balanced perfectly with bright orange notes and a deep cherry finish. It’s smooth, flavorful, and honestly worth coming back for on its own. And then there are the cookies. Don’t leave without grabbing one (or three). The monster cookie is the real MVP…it’s basically everything you’ve ever loved about cookies rolled into one: peanut butter, chocolate, oats… you name it, it’s probably in there. It’s chewy, salty-sweet perfection, and pairs ridiculously well with a coffee or that chai Old Fashioned. Between the drinks, the cookies, and the relaxed but lively Fulton Market energy, Beatrix keeps earning a spot on my must-return list.
Eggshell was truly one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had, she was so patient when I couldn’t decide what to eat and talked me thru multiple dish options, brought me the recipe to my favorite drink on the menu, and just truly went above an beyond. I’ve always loved it here, their food and handmade juices never disappoint, but today was truly an incredible experience! Thx eggshell!
My 1st time here and it was great. We had several appetizers ( turkey meatballs, jalapeño cornbread and fries). I had beef short ribs and tasted a little of what everyone had and everything was delicious. The service and atmosphere were also impressive. We enjoyed dinner and I'd love to come back.
What a great place! Got some coffee and baked good while I was waiting to go to a meeting Saturday morning. The hostess and barista were very friendly. The specialty latte I got was fantastic! The lemon muffin was delicious! Highly recommend their cafe in front. I will definitely come back for brunch when I’m back in town!
This is one of our faves for coffee and a pastry on weekend mornings. We enjoyed drinks and fries tonight too. We’ll be back! Plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and allergy friendly dishes. Also lots of non alcoholic drinks at the bar. We loved everything.
Absolutely love this place, in this location is stellar! I've been here for every meal - breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner! Their cafe is always busy, and sometimes they are sold out of certain pastries if you go after like 10:30, but the drinks are fantastic! Perfect for first dates, family meals, And even events! My family hosted a graduation brunch here when I received my Masters, and everybody was super impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere of the location. The event prices were fair for the area, the food selection was awesome, and the drink package was great. The entire booking process for the event was super quick and easy, and the team was very communicative. Would HIGHLY recommend this location for everyone and everything! PS, if you love Coffee, ask for Alex!
What a nice find. Was near Fulton market and rare to find a coffee shop with decent Joe open this late. Was pleasantly surprised to find and learn about Beatrix, she is my new friend in downtown 😅 Good coffee! Good pastries. I just didn’t like the nonchalant attitude of the server/barista who got our order drinks. Ambience and the cafe lounge sitting area was VIP! Will definitely be back and try more!
Went here to try accommodating a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters, and was not disappointed. The brussel sprouts tasted like caramel corn, buffalo cauliflower was fantastic. The kennenec fries were ok, through I liked the inclusion of lemon and chilies. The meat eaters raved about their dishes and dessert. Downsides: a little pricey relative to the amount of food, but not terribly out of line with mid tier Chicago restaurants. Also, they have the best check splitting interface I've seen anywhere.
A few friends and I dined in on a Monday evening to celebrate a Graduate. We chose to dine inside. It was moderately busy so there was somewhat of a tight squeeze between each table. Hostess and Server were welcoming. Enjoyed the whipped feta with crackers I hadn't seen before. There's an appetizer with sweet and spicy mushrooms that was also devoured within minutes. Had a nice cocktail with jalapeno flakes. I chose chicken enchiladas for the entree and the presentation looked like a soupy salsa but it was actually good and flavorful. I think my friends had some "special" type of hamburger and fries......😳 You can get hamburgers and fries at steak and shake, try something different. Anyways, it must have been excellent because we all cleaned our plates. Pretty cool atmosphere and nice place to just wine and dine and chatter.
We ordered a wonderful egg white omelet, pastry platter, and coffee. It’s so delicious ! Our family and friends enjoyed their brunch as well. Service was nice but it’s very delayed serving, even to add coffee.
Great service, it is a friendly place to take a nice brunch.
Always a lovely place to visit in the market districts especially for a cookie and a coffee. Service on the other hand isn’t the best. We arrived at opening time and we weren’t allowed to sit outside as he was setting up for brunch. As a paying customer we couldn’t sit at one of the 20 tables outside that were empty at 8am. Educate your staff as it ruins the experience.
We enjoyed the food. Everything was well prepared and delivered in a timely manner. The servers were friendly and professional. We loved that we could sit, chat, and eat without feeling rushed. Looking forward to going back. The only thing we wouldn't order again is the kombucha. It was presented in a can... No glass... Just the can 😲. After a while, the chairs are very uncomfortable. The stars of our dinner were chicken bebe, fries, chopped salad, and the whitefish.
Came for happy hour, sat at the interior bar. Had apps, the turkey meatballs-so good I ordered 2, whipped feta-ok and sticky cauliflower too sticky for me. Attentive service, multiple seating areas dining and coffee shop style, Market during the day.
The juiciest burger I’ve ever had. Must try, and I think it’s half off during happy hour. We did wait a while to get our drinks started, but once we got taken care of, our server did a great job in making sure we were doing good. The Brussels sprouts were good: flavor was great but could have been a bit crispier. The chicken sandwich was crispy, but a little dry - it needed more sauce. The pancakes were so so fluffy and amazing! I would come back just for that! Drinks were ok. Dessert menu didn’t have anything that caught my attention. Bathrooms were clean.
The chicken tasted like it was grocery store breaded, with an extra thick layer of Parmesan that had been sitting under a heat lamp. I was not impressed, and it didn’t even come with a carb. Wouldn’t recommend. The Tall, Dark, and Handsome chocolate cake? A+…rich and absolutely worth ordering. The vibe is scene-y and trendy. We sat outside, which was nice, and Fulton Market is always a lively spot. UPDATE - I reached out to my establishment per their comment to send an email to the GM, and they ignored my email.
I was really looking forward to trying Beatrix, but the experience was disappointing. Even though I didn’t end up eating, I was put on a 45-minute waitlist, which felt excessive and poorly managed. The staff didn’t provide clear updates, and it didn’t seem worth the wait, so I left. I’ve heard good things about the food, but the long wait and lack of communication made for a frustrating experience. Probably won’t be back unless the wait times improve.
A group of 4 of us arrived on a Thursday night at 7:30pm. Despite being sat immediately, we waited like 15-20 minutes before a waitress even addressed us. When she finally shows up and asks for our drink order, we tell her we’re ready to order everything, so she takes our order. She recommends the Brussels sprouts telling us they’re one of their most popular so we get those and 2 more appetizers, plus our entries. Fifteen minutes pass before we get our drinks. Ten more minutes for appetizers— 2 appetizers never come— including the famous Brussels sprouts. At this point, we’re finished with our drinks—someone brings out our entrees— we ask about getting water/sodas. Those never come. We eat our entire meal without drinks and without ever being checked up on. One of us orders dessert and the others order dessert to go— they bring out a bag and the wrong dessert to eat at the table. We finally left at 10pm. Two and a half hours and the restaurant was not full at all. Nobody was sitting at any table around us. The food was delicious which is why I gave two stars, but the service was terrible and that really makes or breaks a restaurant for me.
I really wanted to like this place, but it was our biggest disappointment during our weekend trip to Chicago. We saw the thousands of great reviews and decided to give Beatrix a shot. We ordered the steak and eggs and the prime burger. The burger was okay, nothing too amazing. It definitely did not deserve what it was priced at. Honestly, you are better off going to Portillo's to satisfy your burger craving. The steak and eggs however, were a very different story. We asked for medium rare and it was leaning on medium to well done. Everything was unbearably salty, even the eggs and hashbrowns. Every bite was quite terrible. As for the service, it was alright. Our server was really kind but didn't check up on us while we were eating which was understandable since it was so busy. I had high hopes for this place. Maybe we went at an off time or the chef was not in a good mood that day. I don't recommend coming here to spend $70 on two mediocre meals and salt bombs.
