Celebrated Halloween here and it was such a friendly, fun vibe. They held a costume contest, hosted by Thorgy Thor that was super entertaining. Cover was $15/person. Space was large with multiple bars, including an outdoor area with tables/seats.
We had the best time during drag brunch while visiting from Arizona, everyone was so welcoming & ate it up with the performances!! Our server Carlos was the BEST, and there couldn’t have been a better host than Batty Davis, she definitely set the vibes for a fun time!🩷
Roscoe’s is always a fun time! Friday Night Lights is always a good show, and Drag Brunch is great too. We love all the queens!!!
Great food! Fun atmosphere. Super nice people working here. I was told to come visit this place by several of my friends and it didn’t disappoint!
We went for the early dinner. We had the watermelon salad and the gouda burger. Both were outstanding! The burger had a savory sweetness to it. So good. The side of fries come seasoned and don't need anything else as they are perfect.
Roscoe’s is my favorite spot in Chicago! The food is so good and they have a nice full menu for a bar! Their Friday Night Lights drag show and Served drag brunch are always an amazing time, and all of the queens and staff are super friendly and welcoming! I feel so at home there! 💖
This iconic LBGTQ+ bar is a must stop for anyone visiting Chicago. We arrived early on Friday (around 7pm) for the Rupaul's Drag Race watch party. There were 3 special guests from Canada's Drag Race and it was an intimate chat with the queens while we watched an episode of the Down Under version. I was honestly surprised there weren't more people for this event but they arrived later in the evening for the Drag performances. During the watch party you were able to grab a seat to watch comfortably and there was staff to take your drink and food orders. I wish I would've taken more pictures of the food, the corn bites were my favorite. After the watch party you can stay there until the evening for the Drag performances or you can also leave and come back. If you do leave make sure you get your hand stamped for faster re- entry. When we came back for the Drag performances the venue was PACKED! They have a patio but strict no smoking rules, you will get kick out. Overall this place was amazing, you can get everything from food, drinks, bingo, enterTAINTment, and great service. I highly recommend anyone who is a fan of Drag Race to stop by on Friday for the watch party which also streams on YouTube.
Came here on a Tuesday evening while visiting Chicago. Really lovely spot. Service was friendly, vibe felt very inclusive, and drinks were really good and abundant. The space itself is large, clean, and really pretty, and the music and videos were on point. There's a dancefloor near the back, which was relatively quiet during the earlier hours of a Tuesday night but there were still folks there - my kind of scene for sure if I was local. Plenty of space for us to spread out a little bit and the music level in the main area was quiet enough to have a conversation but still a vibe. Really liked it and would absolutely come back.
In Chicago for a week so thought we'd check out Roscoes Tavern in boys town. We only popped in on a Wednesday afternoon, so it wasn't busy. Great selection of alcohol and bar snacks/food. The place is really welcoming with friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. We plan go try over the weekend. So will update:) Popped in several more times since my original review. It's a cool place with great music. Would definitely recommend visiting
Roscoe’s nails the neighborhood bar vibe—welcoming staff, upbeat crowd, and a space that walks the line between casual hangout and polished service. But let’s cut to the highlight: the Blackberry Sidecar. Hands down, this cocktail is the showstopper. Perfectly balanced—smooth, just the right amount of tart, and not overly sweet. You can tell it’s crafted with intention, not just thrown together. If you’re into cocktails that hit with flavor and class, this one alone is worth the visit.
Had an amazing Friday Night Lights with my friends at Roscoe’s. We got amazing last minute seats to sit in the front row and got to chat with the awesome Naysha Lopez during breaks from the streaming of season 16 of Rupaul’s Drag Race . The service was super quick and friendly. Also super spacious and clean. Would love to come back and try the food.
SO Impressed!! Cool bar up front, Serious Disco in the back. The Energy and Vibe was LITTT!!
We made a reservation at 2 PM on Saturday for Drag Brunch. Our server Korra was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. I had the bottomless mimosas and the Hangover Bruschetta. We also had the loaded fries which were delicious but a bit ambitious. I could not finish my bruschetta because I was already so full. One thing I would do differently is choose to sit inside. We missed out on much of the show sitting outside unfortunately.
I love love love, did i say love? I LOVE ROSCOES ! first of all, i was able to meet the lovely banana 🍌 queen Nymphia Wind (she’s a pleasure) thanks to Roscoes i was able to meet one of my favorite drag queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race! the viewing party and Friday Night Lights are an absolute MUST to go to!! it gets very crazy but everything about these events are absolutely worth it !! and can i just say the food is absolutely delicious, and drinks are so refreshing here. Roscoes is my go to for a lovely night out! It does get expensive during these big events so just know you’ll have to pay a door fee, but for a regular good time at the bar is also a must ✨ thank you Roscoes Tavern !
Roscoe’s is by far my favourite bar in Boystown! You can find everything from great food to delicious drinks and a lively atmosphere at this establishment. Decided to do some bar hopping with an acquaintance and found myself enjoying all that came with the experience. If you’re looking for a dope place to let loose and have fun at, Roscoe’s is the bar for you!
Fun place! We watched the new episode of rupaul's drag race, we saw a Q&A with Megami and even met her and bought her a drink. The drinks were great, bartenders were nice, and the loaded fries are amazing and a great sharable size.
Visited with my best friend and some of her friends for Disney Bingo Night and it was so much fun! Service was great, vibes were fun, such a great experience! I tried the Paloma and sliders and both were good! We also got complimentary shots throughout the night🫶🏾 definitely would come back!
I went there for the taste of North Halsted had their barbacoa taco was amazing will go to order it next time.
The drag shows are excellent and thr host is a gem, love you Batty!
Excellent place for small bites and happy hour. My Manhattan was one of the best I've had in the city. They also have a full menu, but we were there before dinner at a nearby restaurant. Very good and extra points for presentation!
Marco was a great bartender! Roscoe’s is a relaxed gay bar with good drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. I am excited to return!
Went to watch Rupauls Drag Race for the night and wound up having the best night I had in a long time. Monique Heart and Mercedes were there to chat during commercials and had a Q&A after. It was so fun and love being able to go somewhere I feel welcome. The bartenders are super nice and they have $3 draught nights so it's hard to have a bad night there. Will be coming back many times in hopes to see more of my favorite Queens from drag race.
I cannot say enough about the fun we had at Roscoes for drag brunch on a Saturday! The bloody was a bit more spicy than we expected, so I'd suggest passing that if you order the unlimited mimosa brunch. The mimosas were great and our server was fantastic at making sure they showed up quickly after ordering. We had a larger party and once the food came out we did have one order missing. Our server and the manager did and awesome job making it right for the person with the missing food. I wish I would have got their names. The bird's the word sandwich was delicious. I'd highly recommend it. Also a quick note for anyone with the cilantro taste like soup issue, sadly the sunrise tacos had way too much cilantro sprinkled on top. Overall a wonderful place
Roscoe's is the quintessential neighborhood bar, which is "turbocharged" deep into weekend evenings. This is a great place for a drink, bite to eat, and conversation until the evening crowd grows. And once the crowd grows, the atmosphere changes, is charged, and fun! The small dance floor is packed, and the energy is high. Overall, it's just a solid, fun place.
Visiting Chicago with a group of friends after our plans were canceled last minute. Roscoe’s saved the day with their incredible drag brunch. A few of my friends attended their first one and we loved every single minute. Thank you for the warm welcome and for making our sad hearts a little happier.
Firstly, I just have to say that Kimberly Summer is the absolute PERFECT host. She keeps the energy high, engages the audience, and encourages everyone to have a good time. On top of that, the food has never disappointed, and the drinks always make the night!
Picante de la casa with Mescal at Roscoe's is on the level of Soho House! Thank you Brandon! 🤯
I genuinely wish I could give this bar more than 5 stars. There was a worker tonight (idk who he is) who protected me and my friends tonight in ways I’ve never seen before in my life.
Roscoe’s is a full-on gay nightlife staple in Boystown. From the RuPaul’s Drag Race queens performing live to the themed dance parties and karaoke nights, it’s unapologetically queer and fabulous. The crowd is super diverse—guys in harnesses, twinks in crop tops, drag queens serving looks, and everything in between. Bartenders are flirty, fun, and easy on the eyes. Whether you’re there to cruise, dance, or just soak up the gay energy, Roscoe’s delivers every time.
First time at Roscoe's Tavern, I was surprised in the big food portion with good food pricing, and quality is great. I kept it simple with chicken tenders with fries and BBQ sauce. I received my food quickly. My bartender Shawn is great and knowledgeable with drinks and area.
I always go to Roscoe’s on either Thursdays or Sundays. And I always have a wonderful experience. Jell-O shots are amazing. Food is 10/10. Especially the R burger. With fries? So delicious.
This LGBTQ+ bar is absolutely adorable and full of positive vibes! The atmosphere is lively, fun, and welcoming, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends. The staff are super friendly and charming, always making sure everyone feels comfortable and happy. The drinks are great, the music is lively, and the overall experience is just so enjoyable. I definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a fun and inclusive night out!
Great place. Great vibes. Girl bought me drinks. Took me home. Great songs playing. Good lighting. Good drinks. Had a coat check. Nice venue. There are multiple bar areas to get drinks from. Would reccomend.
Really only went inside to check it out and get a drink. They were playing good music and we ended up staying the entire afternoon/evening. The drinks were good and we also ordered quesadillas and chicken tenders for dinner which were good portions and had good taste.
Great music great people love the vibes!!! 10/10 also me and my friend lost our coats and wallets and they were safely returned to us omg thank you!!! Steven the manager is the best ✨
The bar is really nice and overall I felt comfortable. The service was friendly, but I had the impression that some of the waiters seemed a bit disinterested. Maybe I didn’t fully understand their role, but at times the friendliness felt somewhat forced. A pity, because the overall atmosphere is otherwise very pleasant.
Fun club in the back and nice staff. Love that they show music videos on the TVs, and the disney bingo is fun!!
I heard it's a big party bar with good food. We stopped by for a quiet, early dinner on a Monday. Recommend trying out their wraps.
Went there for the Drag Brunch and LOVED the show. Had a blast. The food was ok, but you don’t go there for that 😅 Just enjoy the show and tip the performers! (You can get change at the venue)
Much love from Michigan Noon brunch started on time AND ended on time! Guest participation was the best. Good performers. Had a bad waitress on first visit, so I'm glad everything else worked out. I'm usually patient with the waitstaff but we had to get up multiple times to ask either the bar or door person for various items such as change, napkins, more mimosas... The seats are set in a line, so this should be easily waiting service so we were irritated cuz of that. That's all. Highly recommend this place for brunch, would love to come back for a drag showing
Epic vibes, drag, dance & drinks! 🍸💃 Classic Boystown bar with DJs, drag shows, patio socializing and bottomless brunch energy. Drinks and bites hit the spot and the crowd is friendly most nights 🎉. Can get crowded and service is mixed, but overall a fun, lively destination! 🌈🥂
Cocktails were ok. Service is alright. Chips and Guacamole not so good. Garden patio is cute.
gay tgi fridays (derogatory) but one of the only places in boystown with decent dancing now that berlin is gone.
I came here, looking to have a good meal, unwind, and enjoy the atmosphere. But instead, I was greeted halfheartedly at the door, and then I was placed on the far side of the bar where no one else was sitting. The service was mediocre. The food was OK, though just not what I expected.
I and about 10 friends stopped by Roscoe’s recently while visiting Chicago for a friend’s birthday. It was quiet inside—just seven or eight other patrons—so we figured it would be a chill and enjoyable stop. Unfortunately, from the moment we approached the bar, the energy was off. When we tried ordering drinks and asked a simple question about their bourbon selection, the bartender responded with noticeable attitude—short, dismissive, and condescending, like we were wasting his time just by being curious. It was surprising and unnecessary, especially given how slow the bar was at the time. Already feeling uncomfortable, we couldn’t ignore that we were the only people of color in the bar. While we can’t say for certain that race played a role in how we were treated, the tone and overall vibe made it hard not to wonder. We decided to speak with the manager, Kyle, to share how the interaction made us feel. Unfortunately, that conversation only added to our disappointment. Kyle seemed uninterested in our concern, offered no apology, and gave off the impression that he just wanted to move on. It felt like our experience didn’t matter. All in all, what should’ve been a fun and friendly stop turned into a frustrating and unfortunate experience. Roscoe’s might be a staple for some, but for us, it was a sad reminder that not every space feels safe or inclusive. Hopefully, the management takes a closer look at how basic hospitality is extended—or withheld—from all patrons.
My friends and I came to Roscoe’s to celebrate Pride on Saturday night and had an awful experience. My wallet was stolen out of my zipped purse, which I had around my shoulder the entire time. Two of my friends also had their phones stolen from their zipped bags—this was not carelessness on our part. These thefts happened inside the bar, in a space that should feel safe and secure. When we went outside, shaken up and trying to get home, we spoke to at least five other groups of people who also had phones, wallets, or both stolen inside Roscoe’s that same night. This wasn’t an isolated incident—it was a clear and coordinated effort by pickpockets. We informed the bouncer, who admitted someone had been kicked out for pickpocketing earlier in the night, but nothing else was being done to protect patrons or alert others. There was no staff communication, no security follow-up, and no support offered after the fact. It felt like they just didn’t care. Pride is supposed to be a celebration of community and safety—this experience was the opposite. We left feeling violated, unsupported, and incredibly frustrated. I hope Roscoe’s takes this seriously and improves their security and staff responsiveness going forward, because right now, it’s not a safe place to party.
Bartender Nick was rude and petty, and avoiding people waiting to be served. They served me a drink with no alcohol and I waited and was ignored trying to get it fixed... the bar was relatively empty. I understand bartending is a hard job and it gets busy, I just wish I was treated with some kindness.
We came in excited to enjoy our time here, but unfortunately the service was disappointing. We waited over 25 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. Eventually, we decided to leave. I hope they can improve the attentiveness and speed of service, because the atmosphere seemed promising.
Warning: review contains sexual assault stories. I am a gay man writing this with probable lifelong PTSD from bars that were like this and allowed my sexual assault. Absolutely not a safe bar for men or women. Obviously a bit worse for men in this area, but so many women have told me stories as an advocate for the subject. I’ve witnessed tonight a women being forcefully made out with whom was clearly just too drunk to say no. This was right in the door, by the security guard. I’ve heard stories of roofies, sexual assault in terms of inappropriate, forced touching, and so on too much about this place for me not to get the word out. When I mentioned it to the manager and security guard, they waved me off/hung up on me on the phone when I tried to place my complaint, 100% soberly, as I was protesting. Not drinking. This is what I would define as a bars job. Public safety in their areas. Being forced to make out with someone while the security guard is inches away, is not how you enforce public safety. This is not a safe bar to go to for anyone male or female. They borderline approve of sexual assault. Be careful if you go there, and know they did not do you a service. Tip lightly.
There's one particular bartender who we've had continuous bad experiences with. I went on the 12th and he was working a corner miniature bar. It was a bit busy so I was trying to be understanding about how long it would take to get my drink but people would walk up after me (maybe a bit more aggressively) and get served before me... consistently. The first couple times I tried to not let it get to me but after the 5th time I started questioning why I was being passed up? I very clearly was ready to order and it seemed to be a conscious decision. Later found out this same bartender would purposefully skip over women to serve men so I'm guessing I was getting skipped over because I wasn't his type which is just odd behavior for an "inclusive" bar.
