Opinions de Buvette Ciudad De México
We came here for breakfast! We ordered the Belgian Waffle, Waffle Sandwich, Cappuccinos, and Tartine with Prosciutto, Fig Crostini, Goat Cheese, and Honey. Everything was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh! We also wanted to try the Chocolate Mousse, but that’s for another time. That’s why we’re coming back! They have both indoor and outdoor seating which a very small, cute patio. The service was excellent! Highly recommend it!
I don't live in NYC, but I try to eat as well as possible when I'm in town. Buvette has been on my list forever, and I finally left myself enough time to come wait in line. In a party of two, I'd say we waited around 30 minutes. I don't know if it's normal, but parties of three seemed to go in sooner. Maybe it's the "visitor" mentally, but there was a certain magic to lining up on the sidewalk with a bunch of other patrons, watching all the different NYC people walking by. I got lots of outfit inspiration while waiting!! Getting your table feels kind of like winning the lottery. They asked if we'd be willing to sit at the bar, and we said OF COURSE!! We got a front row seat to all the pastries and steam wands. The service was amazing, every single thing we ordered was delicious (cocktails, coffee, appetizers, savory, sweet), and the vibe was so fresh and French. Listen, I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Wait in line. Enjoy your petitel déjeuner. It's worth it.
The waffle sandwich was spot-on delicious The Salmon Fumé was also really good — fluffy scrambled eggs loaded with generous smoked salmon, a creamy dollop, and capers on toasted bread. Fresh, elegant, and packed with flavor.
Excellent food, good service. Tables a bit squished together. The candles really wanted to light my miniskirt on fire when gettting in, getting out. Brought my partner here for his birthday last night. Coq au vin was delicious, albeit very hard to eat from a tiny serving bowl. Carrot side was okay, bit too vinegar-y for me. Gratin potatoes to die for. We ordered crème brûlée and it was YUM! Came with a spoonful of their mousse that we almost ordered and it was soooo good. The only half point I would knock off is they don’t look after your water level in your glasses. Dry! Bill for two around $120
Buvette is more than just a restaurant; it’s a delightful escape that effortlessly transports you to a quiet corner of Paris. Nestled on the beautiful, tree-lined Grove Street, Chef captures the essence of le bon vivant—the pleasure of good food, drink, and simple enjoyment—at any hour of the day. The ambiance is simply unmatched. The space is small, intimate, and meticulously curated, filled with antique keepsakes, marble accents, and a general air of timeless European charm. While the seating is cozy and close-knit (part of its signature appeal), the atmosphere is warm, tranquil during off-peak hours, and wonderfully bustling during prime brunch and dinner times. Whether you snag a tiny table, squeeze into a seat at the bar, or enjoy the charming outdoor patio, the setting is instantly captivating. The food, committed to simplicity and high-quality ingredients, consistently receives rave reviews. For breakfast and brunch, the signature dishes are a must-try. The Waffle Sandwich, made with a light-as-air buttermilk waffle, smoked bacon, gruyère, and a drizzle of maple syrup, is legendary for its sweet and savory perfection. Other standouts include the various Croques (Monsieur, Madame, or Forestier with mushrooms) and the perfectly moist steamed eggs, often served with prosciutto or chèvre. For dinner and late-night snacks, the small plates shine, with classics like the decadent Aligot (a must-have cheesy, mashed potato fondue), excellent house-made pâtés, and the flavorful Coq Au Vin served in a small Staub pot. Don't leave without trying one of their simple, classic desserts like the fabulous Tarte Tatin or the perfect Chocolate Mousse. From the meticulously crafted cocktails to the thoughtfully selected French wines, Buvette truly is a beloved mainstay for savoring high-quality food and drink made with care. It's an excellent choice for a romantic date, an intimate catch-up with friends, or just finding a quiet moment of pure, culinary enjoyment.
The brunch was so good it almost made me emotional. The vibe here is incredible — warm, lively, and perfect for a weekend brunch.
Had breakfast here this morning and it was absolutely worth it! The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the coffee—just perfect. I was alone, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and ended up taking pictures of almost every order that came out. Couldn’t resist! Posting some of my favorite shots below. Highly recommend this spot!! French toast is to die for!!!
The food is amazing, everything tastes fresh and plated very well. My wife and I came here on a whim and we are so happy we did. Highly recommend it. We had a Latte and Capuccino, smoked salmon with eggs and toast, the elixir green juice, and French toast. If you have not been here, you need to try it.
A step into a Parisian cafe in SoHo area. Get there early but so worth it. Loved the chocolate croissants, decadent and comes with 3 which is perfect for sharing. Tried the raved about brioche French toast with berries and it was so yummy. Loved the CRQ Madame which was topped with an egg and definitely big enough to share. Once you leave there don’t miss the FRIENDS apartment down the street. (Where they filmed the show for ever)
Live this place. Perfect perching spot at the bar to watch the well-oiled team maintain the pace of service. The food is simple but luxurious with that ‘extra touch’ of tasty ingredients. Seating is cheek by jowl, service is brisk and friendly, but you don’t feel rushed there. Queue management is clear and charming and the 10 minute wait passed quickly. I recommend everything on the menu. A special place in my heart goes to the pain perdu but honestly you’re not going to be unhappy with anything. Unlike so many faux-brasserie clones, Buvette has a level of solidity and verity. Best in a pair or small group, but also an ideal place for a solo brunch or off-time pit stop.
Walked in. Line looked really long (>10 groups ahead), but we were still seated in ~20 mins. The avocado toast, eggs and salmon were all excellent. I thought the orange juice was just okay. Our table was a bit cramped / close to the group beside us (they really cram as many people as possible into their space). Overall happy and would like to come back.
Great food and service! Do not expect American oversized portions. The servings are typical of what you would get in France. Freshly squeezed orange juice with lotsa pulp. The Belgian Waffle didn't need any syrup at all. The fruits and toppings added enough flavor. The tap (still) water tastes very decent. Couldn't smell or taste any chlorine. Definitely will go back!
We had a lovely Saturday brunch at Buvette, a charming little French spot. It was busy around 11 AM, and we waited about 40 minutes, but it was worth it! The helpful staff managing the line checked in often with updates, and the servers were all very attentive. Just a heads up, your whole party needs to be physically present before you can be seated. The space is a bit tight, but the food made up for it. We had cappuccinos one with oat milk and one with regular milk, ginger tea (which I really enjoyed), freshly squeezed OJ so good, chevre the steamed eggs that were so fluffy and light, pain perdu that wasn't too sweet, croque madame, waffle sandwich, and almond croissants. Everything was delicious! FYI-No reservations, walk-in only.
This is one of those rare places that feels like a true escape, like stepping into a world where you’re not rushed, and kindness isn’t rare. The staff here are beyond amazing: attentive without hovering, genuinely welcoming, and honestly some of the most beautiful humans (inside and out) I’ve encountered in a long time. There’s something so refreshing about coming to a spot that isn’t New York City but doesn’t try to imitate that NYC hustle vibe either. It has its own rhythm…slower, warmer, more grounded. It’s clear the team takes pride not just in the food (which is always on point), but in the experience they create. This place reminds me why I love NYC in the first place: good food, great people, and a space that just feels right. Can’t wait to come back. Just a rare gem with gems of a staff too.
I came here for the first time and I highly recommend trying this restaurant! The food comes in good portions — not too big, not too small — and everything is so delicious and satisfying. The server seemed a bit confused about the reservation list, and there wasn’t a clear queue, which was a little frustrating. Also, the tables are quite small, which made the space feel a bit cramped. That said, I still really enjoyed it and would definitely come back. I especially recommend the French toast called Pain Perdu and the hot chocolate — you should definitely try them!

People line up for breakfast and brunch to this place for a reason — they serve good food. My wife and I tried their house specials of waffle and french toast and they’re just delicious. A big letdown on this cafe though is they cramped the place just to accommodate more and more customers. The food price is a bit on the high side too and service is just above average.
If you’re looking for something a bit different in the West Village. It’s one of a few locations globally which makes it feel extra special. We came for brunch and were glad we arrived early—it gets busy quickly (long wait line). The cappuccino was great, and the pastries were perfect. The breakfast offerings are on the lighter side, but everything was fresh and simple. Seating is a bit tight, but the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Love the ambiance! Service was perfect. Food was delicious but I wish there were a few more options.
Enjoyed the fresh-squeezed orange juice and scrambled egg dishes. Waiter forgot several things, and we never did get one thing we ordered.... Fun, crowded ambiance.

This place was highly recommended but unfortunately we found the food to be overly salted and extremely small portions for the price. It's also so so small and it was uncomfortable eating in large coats with someone just behind me. I understand the location but we paid over $60 for 2 small plates, cappuccino and OJ...
This was a nice place just a bit overpriced. The portions were good for someone with a small appetite. But for the price and portion definitely overpriced. The croissants were a big disappointment. Costco croissants were better than this. I guess I had high expectations and Buvette just didn’t meet it. The place was pretty loud. Since we sat at the bar it was easier to talk to each other but if you were sitting at a table indoors I feel like it would be harder. I would recommend this but would not be the first on the list for brunch options.
Food was good but not excellent, don’t get your expectations too high. I got the salmon fume, the scrambled eggs were really good but the portion was too small - just a little piece of bread and salmon - not worth the price at all. The other dish I got was the Croque Forestier, and here I could taste the real French vibes that I was expecting - very flavorful and well cooked, i definitely recommend it. What is bringing down the overall judgement is the very long line that shows how this place is very well marketed and in fact was not that good as the expectation are. Service was ok, quick and efficient - but again, nothing exceptional.
We were meeting some friends for lunch at soho. They recommended this place. You can’t make a reservation so some waiting is inevitable. Our host was so great. She was super accommodating and patient. We were waiting outside for our party to arrive. She made a table available to us to sit down and wait inside. However our issue with the service started here. Our waiter, who was a different person than our host was completely opposite. He wanted us to order as soon as we sat down so we can eat and go. I had to explain to him more than once our party hadn’t arrived yet. The guy rolled his eyes on my apologies. Once everyone was finally here they same guy was super annoyed at our request to go over what we ordered. We did this because there was some back and forth white we were ordering. We didn’t want to make a mistake. Oh well I guess he didn’t feel that was necessary. The food was fine. It’s some standard “French” fare. It was quite tasty but nothing to write home about tbh. I would recommend this place for its location the food quality and our interaction with our host. But! Be aware you might end up with a waiter that lacks patience. The atmosphere is cozy. But since the place is pretty compact noise level could be an issue if you are looking for a quieter place. So be aware.
I was super excited to go to this place because of so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't that good. I had managed to get a reservation, but we ended up moving our plans forward and arriving at the restaurant early. We managed to get a table after waiting a while. The problem was when we got there and saw how cramped the space was. You're generally crammed into the tables next to you, and there's no way to avoid hearing conversations, and I also found the noise intense. We went with our 1-year-old baby, and it was also difficult to eat because there are no high chairs (and even if there were, they wouldn't fit in the area), she could reach the entire table, and we had to make a reservation to eat. The food is okay, but the presentation is very simple, with okay service (nothing surprising). You also feel pressured to eat and leave because there are always people waiting.
