I loved everything about this cute cafe. I was able to get some work done while I had my omurice and taro latte. The omurice is perfectly cooked with the egg still a little runny on the inside. The rice was good as well.

I m sad I dint discover this incredible place before, i felt like i was transported to a cafe in Japan, the food was phenomenal, cooked to perfection and the best part is Fuji the owners pet, she is just a wonderful blessed presence here. I was so happy being here and will be back. The coffee is also exceptionally crafter.

Okay, I am so impressed with coffee and sandos that I now want to try every single item on their menu. The flat white was so delicious—perfectly made and the beans are very good quality. The grilled cheese sandwich was absolutely out of this world!!! The fluffy milk bread, melty cheese combined perfectly with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes are marinated in yummy herbs. I just want to have this sando every day for the rest of my life. The Greek yogurt sando was super good too—not overly sweet, ripe, sweet berries, and again, delicious milk bread with a nice little char on it. Other pastries were coming out as they are being made, made freshly in house. I love this place and I want to take it home with me 🥺

I chatted with the barista here for a few minutes, their coffee was phenomenal. Had a flat white that had really good flavor and was nice and creamy. The ambience of the cafe is perfect for a chill hangout with one or two friends, not much space for more. They also serve small bites - we saw some really tasty looking waffles being served to the people next to us.

I think this is one of the best coffee places in the neighborhood. In our 6 day stay in CDMX, we went back multiple times for their coffee. Their baked goods are very good: hojicha bread was soft and moist inside and outer layer was not too sweet. We tried their food menu. Oyakodon was on point: the temperature was right, the consistency of the rice with runny egg was amazing. The owner worked as a chef in Tokyo for many years so the food and his attention to detail for his coffee were exceptional.

Anyone rating this place below 5 stars is just wrong. My partner and I were fortunate enough to stay just across the street from Raku, making it an almost daily go-to during our trip. The coffee is the best I tried in the city, by far. The food is as authentic as it gets outside of actually being in Japan. The bonus is the owners dog, Fuji, a Japanese Akita inu who blesses the space with her presence daily. Everything here appears to be made in house, with the majority of food being made-to-order, so don’t be surprised if it takes a bit longer than usual to arrive at your table.

Great atmosphere for work. Free water available. I bought the yogurt w/ fruit & nuts and a chicken sando. The food can definitely be improved. And the kitchen closes at (3pm)? I'd rate this cafe 5 stars because of the atmosphere and location.

I had wanted to come to this place for a while, and it definitely did not disappoint! I really love everything I had: the food and drinks were great, but also the stylising of the place was very minimalist and cute, very consistent with the theme. I ordered an omurice, which I found to be as good as the ones I tasted when travelling in Japan; and my companion ordered a cheese toast, and also said it was great. The place is mostly on the pricey side, but I would really recommend to check it out, specially if you’re as fond of Japanese cuisine as I am~ I will definitely be back, since I’m dying to try many more things 🤍🍵

One of the best espresso drinks in the neighborhood with some coworking space inside. Staff speak english (Mauricio is fluent). They are also one of the very few places that have oat milk option (and do a great latte art with it too). Each day, they have a different type of pastry. I have tried the donut and fried danish. Donut was amazing and fried danish was really good but super oily and heavy. I’ve also had their fruit bowl which is really good.

La comida es rica, la carne del katsu kare es muy suave y el curry tiene buen sabor. Como postre pedí un anko pan, es sabroso y está bien servido. Creo que si pudiera cambiar algo sería disminuir la cantidad de crema pues esta hace que el sabor del anko se pierda. Finalmente, y esto es tan sólo mi opinión el espresso tonic y el espresso orange no son muy buenos, la naranja es muy ácida lo que hace una combinación poco agradable. El servicio fue muy bueno y por el horario en el que fui había muy poca gente.

Buen café y el desayuno bastante bien. Mi sugerencia es probar o el sándwich de queso o el omelette. Me esperaba un huevo estilo japonés (fluffy).

Muy bonito el lugar. Se nota que le pusieron mucho empeño en sus detalles. El katsu kare tenía muy buen sabor pero la carne estaba un poquito dura y también el arroz.

Excelente café, con muy buen sabor y presentación. Probé una concha (o como sea que se llame acá), algo cara pero deliciosa. Aún no pruebo el resto del menú, aunque sin duda volveré. El único punto a mejorar es el espacio: el lugar es pequeño y puede resultar algo incómodo cuando hay varias personas.

La comida es excelente, especialmente el tonkatsu, que realmente se lleva los aplausos. La primera vez que fui (un domingo), ya no alcancé nada de comida, pero volví un lunes y pude comer sin problema. El servicio puede ser un poco lento, pero es comprensible considerando que todo lo preparan al momento y con buena calidad. Las mesas exteriores no son muy cómodas, pero adentro tienen una barra con un estilo súper japonés que hace la experiencia mucho más agradable. El café sí me quedó un poco a deber. No es malo, pero definitivamente tiene margen de mejora en aspectos como la textura del cremado y la extracción. En cuanto al pan dulce, en general no me pareció tan especial, aunque destaco el Kare Pan y el Meron Pan (concha) de matcha, que sí valen la pena. En resumen, es un lugar que vale la pena visitar. Yo seguro volveré.

Es un café ubicado en una zona accesible, ideal para desayunar o comer. La mayoría de los asientos están distribuidos a lo largo de una barra, por lo que se presta más para ir solo o en pareja. Una curiosidad del lugar es el sanitario: está limpio, bien acondicionado y cuenta con un inodoro inteligente que se controla mediante botones, lo cual hace que incluso esta parte sea una experiencia diferente. El café de especialidad está bien preparado, servido a una temperatura que permite apreciar correctamente sus notas de cata. Además, lo acompañan con un vaso de agua, lo cual siempre se agradece. Probé el chicken sandwich y realmente valió la pena, tanto por el sabor como por la porción. Si bien los precios pueden parecer elevados, en mi opinión están justificados por la calidad y cantidad de lo que ofrecen. Eso sí, vale la pena considerar que el lugar cierra a las 17:00, así que es mejor planear la visita con anticipación.

Vine por recomendación con una amiga y la persona que estaba ese día nos explicó un poco del concepto. La verdad me encantó La comida 10/10 Ya había probado galletas y pedí un platillo y me encantó, pero… la atención me falló y mucho Hoy vine y pues la atención muy regular, la persona que me atendió apenas y me habló, su actitud nada servicial y sobre todo con poca amabilidad a la hora de responder algunas preguntas que hice sobre el café o la comida Vine para trabajar un rato, pero estaba ocupada la parte de adentro así que estuve afuera y pues le pedí el favor a la persona que me atendió que por favor me avisara si un lugar se liberaba y nunca me avisó, varias personas salieron y hasta me asomé y ya habían espacios, pero no me moví porque tenía mi comida en la mesa Terminé mis alimentos y me el chico solo me veía desde la barra, estaba en su cel, nunca se acercó a preguntar si estaba bien, ni para preguntarme si quería la cuenta En comparación con la persona que me atendió la primer vez a esta si hay mucha diferencia En fin, no se pierdan la experiencia del café, pero mi experiencia es mejor pedir para llevar

El servicio es bueno, El lugar es super lindo, buena decoración , muchísima paz , los chicos de la barra de enfrente super amables , la comida super rica . Entiendo que el concepto es japonés , por eso las dimensiones del lugar son pequeñas . Lo recomiendo para beber algo (café , té , un pan y listo). :) El café es muy bueno, también sus tés ,(aún que no había mucha variedad de tés ).

One of the best matcha lattes I’ve tried in Mexico. After having this café at the top of my list for the longest time, I finally decided to try this spot out. Upon entering the café, we were acknowledged by a barista who didn’t have the best attitude. We ordered a latte and a matcha latte and took a seat outside. Our drinks took a bit of time to arrive, but they were very well presented. The matcha latte was amazing, one of the best I’ve ever tried. The matcha tasted rich and authentic, and I was in love with its flavor. The outside seating was nice, though the inside seating consisted mostly of bar seats. A Japanese café isn’t complete without a Japanese toilet, which is always a nice touch. The concept and the overall taste of our drinks were amazing, but where Raku Café falls short is in its service. When we went to pay, the staff’s arrogant and indifferent attitude soured the experience a bit, which is such a shame because this café has so much potential!

Solo puedo decir que la comida es buena, pero esperar 1 hora para comer es un tiempo excesivo, el dueño directamente se disculpó por ello pero fuimos nosotros quienes nos acercamos a pedir información sobre nuestros alimentos ya que comensales que llegaron después que nosotros recibieron antes sus alimentos, ojalá mejoren ese aspecto. La bebida pedí té verde pero nunca me especificaron ni pregunté si era de bolsa o no porque sabía amargo quizá el tiempo de infusión fue largo, la culpa fue mía por no preguntar si era de bolsa u hoja suelta. Mis acompañantes pidieron café y la textura de la leche estaba sobre espumada, quizá había mucha gente y por ello no prestaron suficiente atención a ese detalle.

Aunque es tanto cafetería como restaurante, yo solo fui a probar el cafe. Pedi un latte, estaba muy caliente y la leche muy mal cremada, era espuma. El sabor no estaba mal, pero si no lo consideraría un buen latte, además de que es caro para la porción y calidad ($70). Es un lugar pequeño y no tiene lugares cómodos para sentarse, ni tomas de corriente ni wifi.

Esta es mi cuarta vista, me había aguantado escribir una mala reseña porque me gusta mucho la comida que sirven, pero siempre que he venido nos han tratado pésimo, nos dejan a fuera y dejan pasar a extranjeros y personas que simplemente se meten sin importar si hay fila para entrar. Los alimentos tardan, no esperes que te traigan cosas como servilletas o servicios. Ven sólo si estás dispuestx a esperar en el frío 40 minutos y tener que pararte para pedir cualquier cosa que necesites, o si vas a pedir para llevar.

I hate to say this, but as a long-time patron and regular over the years, I will no longer be going to Raku. My past several visits have been awful. I never thought I'd have a bad cup of coffee here, as it's always been my favorite brew in the city. But today, it was one of the worst I've had. Burned and watery. Then the food. Ive ordered the cheese sandwich and tomato soup at least 20 times. Then, most recently, mine was delivered without a spoon. When I asked for one, the waiter brought one reluctantly, saying in an annoyed tone that the idea was that the "sauce" is for dipping and it didn't need a spoon. Service here has consistently declined, and has in recent months, been outright rude. The laptop policy is also ridiculous, with the waiter demanding that only certain seats inside be for laptops, but the seats are not marked with anything other than "Reservado" signs. If laptops are forbidden, just create a sign that says so. I know the owner is serious about his restaurant/cafe, so i hope this review brings awareness to the issues that are happening when he is not around so they can be fixed.

La comida es deliciosa pero todo lo arruina por cómo nos atendieron. Sinceramente nos hicieron sentir no bienvenidos y los meseros solo se dirigían a gente conocida de ellos que llegaba al lugar o extranjeros . Ni siquiera se acercaron a preguntarnos la orden a comparación de las otras mesas. Tuvimos que levantarnos y pedir la orden con respuesta una mala cara del servicio. Lamentable porque su comida está muy deliciosa. Sinceramente por esta razón , no regresaré .

They claim to have WiFi and let you order food but then WiFi cuts off after 1 hour and is flaky. Owner’s dog barks constantly inside cafe without any trigger and is badly behaved. I’ve come here several times and each time the dog is barking at random things outside the cafe. When I left, I mentioned that they should post something about the WiFi limit. This is so folks don’t buy food drinks etc, only to discover that they can’t stay and work. The staff became very aggravated and rude and wouldn’t let me pay — I repeated multiple times that I would still like to pay for my food and that I was just hoping they would let other customers know about the WiFi policy. I was neither rude nor loud, but I was firm that it’s bad practice to not inform customers about the WiFi and working rules. The staff very aggressively told me that he wouldn’t accept payment and to just leave immediately. It was overall an incredibly negative experience and the staff became hostile quickly — I understand now why there are so many reviews about staff with attitude problems. Then, they responded to this review with a response that was dishonest and factually incorrect. I didn’t yell at anyone, not by any stretch of the imagination. And they literally wouldn’t let me pay, despite me repeatedly asking to pay them for the food, since I was only trying to give feedback and my goal was never to avoid paying. This place disgusts me — so unethical and rude.

The taro latte I ordered was way too sweet. I had to throw it away. The staff also had a bad attitude and seemed like they did not want to be there. Response to owner: I visited last year. Sharing an honest experience isn’t “destroying your reputation.” Sweetness is subjective, and for me, the drink was too sweet to enjoy and I wasted my money. Also, it’s telling that you didn’t address my comment about the staff’s attitude, especially since many other reviews mention the same issue.

The drinks were ok, got 2 vietnamitas . My friend enjoyed hers with a good ratio of sweetness and strength of the coffee. Mine didn’t taste like hers. The ratio was off. Another friend ordered matcha and was happy with it despite it being hot instead of the iced she wanted but was never asked. The place and area is really pretty and lively, but we felt too uncomfortable to stay. The problem is this place needs to work on their attitude as a whole. From previous comments it seems like they’re judgmental towards certain people. The male working at the bar didn’t even want to acknowledge us and the female looked upset at us the whole time. The whole experience was weirdly uncomfortable.

The coffee was good. However, the male staff member at the bar had a terrible attitude. From the moment we walked in and ordered, he had a poker face and spoke to us in a cold and indifferent tone, which made us feel so uncomfortable that we didn’t want to stay inside to enjoy our coffee. The café is located in a great spot—within a lively yet peaceful neighborhood—but this staff member’s behavior ruined the entire experience. Very disappointing.
