Visited for my significant others birthday dinner, was not disappointed! The service was prompt and affable, and made sure we had everything we needed. Lots of wine options, and the calamari appetizer was delicious. Our servers, Clancy and Jesus were attentive, knowledgeable, and very kind. The 60 South Salmon was delicious and well portioned. My partner was treated to a complementary birthday dessert. Great night, great restaurant, will definitely come back.

Beautiful restaurant downtown. Extremely classy and modern interior with big windows and high cielings. Staff was incredible and made us feel like we were special even though it was early. Food was amazing, fantastic Cesar Salad, octopus was the best I've ever had and the veal Parmesan was insane. They make all the pasta fresh and you can tell. Beautiful texture and it really holds the sauce. Some of the best italian I've had in the city.

Thanks to Il Venetian for making my birthday dinner so special. Everything about the restaurant was fantastic. The food, the service and the atmosphere. Special thanks to our server Parker for making the night extra special. Truly an amazing guy. Overall very nice experience. Loved every bit of it. Would definitely go again 🫶🏻

Found this place on OpenTable as I looking for an Italian restaurant with a nicer ambiance and was happy to find IL Venetian just across the street from the convention center. Wasn't able to make a resy so took my chance with a walk-in since I was solo and was actually sat at a nice table by the manager. Beautiful white tablecloths and fine dining touches at the table, staff is very attentive to the small details all the way down to cutlery placement and menu suggestions. They have an extensive wine menu & the food menu is very planned out with a good amount of options without being overwhelming. Nice touch of anchovies on my Ceasar salad, LOVED the puree and chili oil(?) on the charred octopus and the ravioli with sauce was DELICIOUS with so much lobster inside & lovely crab vodka sauce. A meal like this in L.A. would be so overpriced but with wine my meal onlu came to about $85. I recommend a reservation for sure. The dining room is really beautiful but they do have a very nice enclosed patio right next to the front door. Would absolutely come back here again when I'm in town.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Il Venetian, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — warm, attentive, and truly made us feel like royalty. The food was outstanding. The restaurant itself is stunning, with an elegant atmosphere that made our night even more memorable. Il Venetian went above and beyond, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for a special occasion or an unforgettable night out.

We decided on IL Venetian in Cleveland for ou wedding anniversary because we wanted Italian in an upscale setting. IL Venetian did not disappoint! Very nice bar and the restaurant itself is beatifully decorated. The menu offers housemade pasta and enough variety for any pallette. Great cocktail and wine selection. We particularly enjoyed the ravioli stuffed with lobster and crab. I had the veal parmesan for my entree and it was delicious! Our waiter, Nick, provided a perfectly timed service for our table, never rushed, allowing the dishes to flow to make for a relaxing evening. The manager came to visit our table and we had a nice chat about the restaurant. I highly recommend IL Venetian.

Hands down one of my favorite Italian Restaurants. Fresh pasta, a diverse menu and impeccable service. The veal chop is incredible and the portion is generous. The calamari is the best in Cleveland. We always try to visit Il Venetian when we are in Cleveland.

When both friends and Open Table recommends a restaurant, it’s worth checking out. In this case, 100% worth it. Located in a hotel, it is much more than a hotel restaurant. World-class chef, warm and professional staff, and beautiful decor make it a must. If you are a mescal drinker, be sure to try the Vesuvius. My husband said it it was the best cocktail he’s ever had. The presentation of their tiramisu was off the charts. Spoiler alert: photo included.

What a wonderful place to dine! My girlfriend and I came in to celebrate my birthday. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. It’s set in the downstairs of the Key Bank building. My gps was a little wonky for taking me to the entrance, but luckily there are tons of bell guys around to direct you. All of the staff are super friendly. It’s definitely a fine dining experience. I ordered the vendetta drink. It was pretty strong, just the way I like it. Our calamari was wonderful and I loved their dips. Our dinners were both fantastic. We shared a Budino Al Cioccolato which was a wonderful mix of sweet and sour that we didn’t totally expect. I’ll definitely have that again. They also brought out chocolate covered cream puffs with a birthday candle. That was a sweet little touch all of the staff made sure they told me happy birthday. Overall this was a great place to eat. We will be back soon!

We really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere of the Il Venetian. Our server was fantastic. Every time I get Italian, I am a little disappointed, knowing I can do a better job at home. I really enjoyed my meal here and I definitely could not make a better Italian meal at home! For the food, we started off we the meatballs, and they were amazing. I will get them every time I come here. Their chicken parmesan was absolutely fantastic and full of flavor, a perfect dish. The crème brûlée was the best my wife has ever had. I get tiramisu at every restaurant I can and theirs tops the charts as the best I have ever had.

Great food and classy atmosphere! The Veal Parmesan was HUGE and I loved that we were able to try multiple pastas with the sampler platter (although beware, you do get less food if you order the sampler, but we expected that!) Finished dinner off with one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had!

Such a beautiful restaurant! For sure a restaurant with one of the best interiors in Cleveland. We went just in time for happy hour and I thought the prices were great for the portions they served. I also really enjoyed the pasta overall, the crab ravioli was quite delicious. I’d highly recommend this place!

First time visiting and couldn’t have been more impressed! The hospitality, from valet to management, was second to none. Beautiful atmosphere accompanied by every employee seeming to genuinely care and be happy that we were there. The food, presentation and service was just outstanding. Cannot wait to return! UPDATE new review: Il Venetian never fails to guarantee a perfect evening! We’ve been here a bunch of times since discovering it five months ago. As always, everything was completely on point. LOVE the new spring menu specials. If you can request Christine please do, she offers the best hospitality in the city. A must visit if you haven’t already, especially for a special occasion!

We went for my partners 30th birthday. Overall had a great experience. The staff was super attentive. Hostess was super nice and apologetic when seating us with people in the way. The food was great though! I loved the seafood pasta that I ordered. My partner had the pork chop. Super moist!Everything tasted amazing. Even the desert. Overall had a great exp here. It was quiet loud so don’t expect to be able to converse a whole ton since the sound bounces. But still a great place for special occasions.

If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience in the heart of Cleveland Downtown, look no further than II Venetian. This amazing restaurant has it all - from incredible food to impeccable service and a beautiful atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the attention to detail in the interior design. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and elegant, which set the stage for what was to come. The staff at II Venetian were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. But the real standout was the food. The menu was extensive and offered a wide variety of options, all of which were prepared to perfection. The flavors were bold, creative, and perfectly balanced. We couldn't get enough of the delicious dishes and already can't wait to come back to try out the rest of their menu. Overall, we had an amazing time at II Venetian. The combination of fantastic food, exceptional service, and stunning atmosphere make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend!

Dinner was delectable from start to finish. Hubby & I enjoyed the calamari fritti for starters & for entrees we had the cheese ravioli & agnolotti. The portions were fairly large so we didn’t have room for dessert; however, they had several scrumptious options to chose from as I couldn’t help myself from viewing the menu. While I can’t recall the names of the cocktails we had, they were well made as our server helped us select a couple according to our preferences (that were on the sweeter side). The restaurant is exquisitely decorated and it was crowded for a Saturday evening, so I highly recommend making reservations.

It was our first dinner in Cleveland. The place is so classy, decor and atmosphere. Service was very good and attentive. They knew we just moved here so dessert was complementary and super delicious and creamy. Food is flavorful, high quality ingredients and portions are big. Pasta is made in-house. Drinks well balanced with alcohol and flavorful with a nice variety of options and mixes. Valet is easy and reasonable price.

I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to dine in at Il Venetian, as I was a little intimidated by the encouraged dress code. I'm not used to eating at fine-dining restaurants so I wasn't sure if the dress I'd packed for my trip would cut it. I ordered the lobster ravioli and the "special dessert", which the online menu had listed as an apple cake with vanilla gelato. After the first walk across the street and back, I realized I only had my dinner and not dessert. After the second trip I found I had been given the wrong dessert. And you know what? The lemon, fruit and cream tart I ended up with was fantastic. Everything tasted amazing. The lobster ravioli was so good. The bread and olive oil were great. Zero complaints. Maybe the online menu had the wrong "special dessert" listed, or maybe there was a mix up at the restaurant. I don't mind at all that I didn't get the dessert I wanted though. Sometimes life hands you happy little accidents. 😊

Fine dining and great Italian dishes are the norm here. The customer service was great. We ate on a Monday night so it was not very busy. They sat us at a small table but we had room for the appetizer and main entree. The Rigatoni and the Seafood spaghetti was amazing. The drinks were delicious and potent. The ambience was very nice and the restaurant was very clean. We will be back on our next trip.

Food was amazing! Make sure you try the grilled octopus, one of our favorite dishes. Plus the cocktails are above standard. Desserts were unique and deliscious. Will visit again. On a side note, many of the dishes reminded me of Lockkeepers in Valley View for those that frequent there.

A friend and I came for our birthday lunch. The general manager Bob Humphrey and waitress Krystal were excellent. The food and wine were excellent. This is one of the best restaurants in downtown Cleveland! I would recommend this restaurant to any one!

Very good Italian restaurant located within Marriot. Both the food and the service were very good. The food portions were well-sized. We just ended up ordering too much food since we got an entrée and a main for each one, which is definitely not necessary to be done.

Last minute reservation and wow!!! This was my first time and my boyfriends second, we are young and I’m delighted to note that no one looked at us like we were in the wrong place… They were able to accommodate us at a lovely table. Service was FANTASTIC and the food was even better! Beautiful ambiance and live music. Even leftovers are delicious.. I’LL BE BACK!

The staff is unbelievable! And the comfort level is second and none. I had the squidded fettuccine special and it was beautifully prepared and tasted exactly as I had hoped. The grilled octopus appetizer is probably some of the best octopus that I've ever eaten!

Great Italian dinner with friendly service. Lots of good creative dishes. The wagyu beef carpacio with black truffle was delicious. The gnocchi was very good and fluffy. Service was excellent and very friendly. Lots of good wines by the glass. Will definitely be back.

Funny, I had reservations on the wrong day (my fault). They were so kind in fitting us in. The wine list was incredible and the food was even better! What an incredible dining experience. As a bonus, Aiden, our server, was beyond excellent! A great time!!

Finally reviewing after going to il Venetian at least a dozen times. Il Venetian is hands down the best restaurant in the Cleveland area. They have everything figured out, but the most important thing about going to Il Venetian is the service. Adalina, Joey, Parker, Jesus, Aidan and Bob make us feel like family every time we come in. The food, cocktails, wine list and atmosphere are incredible as well!

Il Venetian never disappoints. Whether two for dinner or a larger party, service and food are always perfection. Truly this downtown establishment offers consistent excellence. There are three "dining spaces" each with their own ambiance to best fit the vibe you seek.

Lovely experience all around. Food was top notch, especially the carpaccio and cavatelli. Jesus took great care of us—fantastic service and made the experience very special. We will be back.

We’re locals and come here all the time, and it’s amazing every single visit; but our most recent experience was on a whole different level! My parents came in from NYC to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and they were absolutely blown away. From the moment we sat down, Bob (the manager) and Aiden (our server) made the night unforgettable. The service, the attention to detail, and the sheer warmth they showed were outstanding. And the food; wow! The pasta, the steak, the bread, the drinks, everything was perfection. Thank you, Bob, for making my parents’ anniversary celebration truly special. We are so grateful!

Angel at the hostess stand was the absolute sweetest! She greeted me immediately. I loved the Christmas tree. She saw how excited I got as I was attempting to take photos of it and she offered to take photos of me next to it. She was so incredibly sweet for that! My photos turned out AMAZING! thank you for making my dining experience extra special Angel! Merry Christmas!

My eyes literally lit up when I walked in. The restaurant is stunning, the music is thankfully under the voices so we could hear each other talk. The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful, although our waitress came to check on us more than necessary. (We prefer European service, only come to the table when requested) The food was delicious. Expertly served. There is no room for improvement here as this place is positively Devine.

II Venetian was such a beautiful space! The customer service was truly A1 — warm, attentive, and made the experience feel special. The food was an 8.5/10 for me. I had the lobster ravioli, which was delicious, and the bread with oil was absolute perfection. The cocktails were also top-notch and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, a great experience — I’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely love the ambiance at Il Venetian. Don’t let the fact that it’s located inside a hotel fool you this is not your average hotel restaurant. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by our server, who was knowledgeable about the menu and full of great suggestions. This was our second time dining here, and we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We started with a salad to share and clam chowder for him both came out promptly and were delicious. For our entrées, we both love Il Venetian’s incredible vodka sauce, which usually comes with gnocchi, but since we’re not big fans of gnocchi, we always swap it for cavatelli. There were a couple of hiccups with the entrées this time around the sauce substitution accidentally dropped off in the system when we added grilled chicken, so the first plate came out without sauce. The second round came with mushrooms (which we don’t eat) from another dish. Before we could even say anything, the manager, Bob, noticed the mix-up and immediately came over to apologize and have both meals remade. Within ten minutes everything was sorted out, and honestly, it wasn’t a big deal to us we were enjoying our date night and each other’s company. Bob and our server went above and beyond to make things right. When the corrected dishes arrived, they were absolutely delicious just as we remembered. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake (one of the best we’ve ever had!) and were also treated to a complimentary warm apple bread pudding, which my husband loved. When it came time for the bill, we were shocked at the level of generosity in how they compensated us for the mix-up. It truly wasn’t necessary, but it showed how seriously they take their service. We’ve been to more upscale places that have handled worse situations with far less care. Bob even chased us down outside as we were leaving just to apologize one more time! We were genuinely floored by how attentive and kind everyone was. It reminded us why we love this restaurant so much not only for the amazing food and ambiance but for the outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back (and not just once a year!). If you’re looking for an elegant, romantic dinner spot with exceptional food and service, Il Venetian is a must.

We were excited to try Il Venetian, seeing as how it consistently ranks among Cleveland's top restaurants. Our actual experience was rather mixed. First, a warning about the menu: hope you like truffles, since over half of the menu features some sort of mushroom (which is a shame, since the last time I checked, fungus is not a prerequisite for haute cuisine). That said, the meal actually began very solidly with the house made cocktails and rosemary bread and dipping oil. Well, the bread was merely fine, but the dipping oil was delicious - herby, garlicky, and salty and with a neutral oil that was not too grassy. The salads were likewise outstanding: the Caesar salad was unctuously eggy and mustardy and tasted like it had been kissed by the ocean, while the tomato salad was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy and umami flavors. The mains, on the other hand... oof. The filet mignon was the grayest, ugliest, untrimmed hunk of meat we've seen this side of a nursing home. At least it was well-seasoned, and, once you got past the appearance, tasted okay. The homemade fettuccine (with not 1, not 2, but 3 (!) different types of mushroom) was easily the better dish. It could have used more of a sauce, but was otherwise quite fresh and toothsome. Note for the future: stick to the pasta. Dessert was a nice, light gelato sampler - the vanilla was forgettable, but the hazelnut tasted like eating chilled nutella (true luxury) and the bergamot was a bracing and aromatic tour de force. As far as the overall experience, while our server was very friendly and helpful, the meal pacing left a lot to be desired: our first course came out not 5 minutes after placing the order, with the main course close on its heels. We worried we might be kicked out in half an hourl, but then things slowed down… considerably. This gave time to take in the ambiance, such as it was: classic jazz on the radio (lovely, if a little loud) and a profusion of metal and crystal fixtures (honestly? kind of gaudy). Knowing that Il Venetian is owned by the same company as The Marble Room, the difference in quality in the two properties is staggering. That's not to say Il Venetian was bad by any means, however it could have (should have) been better. If I were in charge of Savour Hospitality I wouldn’t put the two together in the same advertising materials.

Amazing service. Top notch food. Delicious cocktails. Our server was helpful in letting us know which dishes provided large portions. Everyone was attentive. 4 stars instead of 5 for inconsistent portion sizes. My husband got the agnolotta pasta, which was a super teeny tiny portion...appetizer-like. While fantastically delicious, it was too small as an entree so we switched meals as mine, the seafood spaghetti, was ginormous. If he had known, he'd have ordered a secondi piatti. A little more communication on the dish sizes is warranted. Like I said, the waiter did indicate the larger portioned dishes, but maybe should have likewise mentioned the small ones. I also didn't like being forced to order our entire meal at once. It sort of took away from the fancy ambiance a bit and I felt a little rushed. I like to pace my meals as I see fit. Otherwise, a truly delicious and romantic experience. Just double check the portion sizes with your server when ordering.

This place is amazing! The best staff! Great romantic atmosphere as well. First of all, we decided to start with Wagyu beef carpaccio as an appetizer. It was not my favorite, to be honest! Then, for our main course, we had the Stuffed Agnolotti, the Chicken ILVenetian, and the Spaghetti mixed with seafood. My favorite dish was the veal stuffed Agnolotti, which comes with very delicious pistachio sauce. Very creamy! Will come again to order it! Our waiter well explained the Manu before we ordered because it was our first time here, Great job! I'm allergic to mushrooms, so they make the entire it without them. Appreciate that! We had a complimentary Tiramisu from our waiter. I highly recommend this dessert! Great experience👍

“It feels like we are on vacation in Italy, not here in Cleveland” said my friend. Highly stylized tasteful decor and delicious food. We listened to Cleveland Scene Magazine and ordered the hand made gnocchi - it was perfect!!!! We also had a burrata salad with the sun dried tomato purée - fabulous flavor and textures!!!! One friend had the tagliatelle and veggies - very good. The bread was amazing too! Desserts were good - olive oil cake for someone without a sweet tooth and the chocolate cake for a chocolate lover - not sweet but still so decadent. Drinks were good also - the old fashioned came out smoking :)!

Mrs G and I went to the Il Venetian and the food was impeccable. We had the Wagyu beef carpaccio and the pistachio encrusted tuna. The decor is lovely and pleasing to the eye. Although our server was a bit reserved, his timing, service, and presence was perfect. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 is because I felt the cocktails were not stellar but just good. Again the food was great and highly suggest going for a quality meal.

Had lunch there today. Very nice atmosphere and Krystal gave us great service. Salads were large, fresh, and well dressed. House made Cavatelli both tender and chewy (perfect) with either wild mushrooms or boar ragout. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Marriott hotel valet service was great. Not inexpensive, but value for what it is. Hoping to return for dinner soon.

The service here was exceptional! From unexpectantly delivering a bench for my handbag to surprising us with champagne & dessert after overhearing we had an anniversary coming up our server was on point. Loved the beautiful venetian chandeliers, plush banquet seating & music at just the right level. Food was very good but not unexpected enough to rank higher at this price point.

I really wanted to love our experience at The ll Venetian. The decor is absolutely beautiful and the host and staff were kind and welcoming. I’ve dined at many fine dining establishments across the country, and unfortunately, this just didn’t live up to what I would expect from a true fine dining experience—especially at a price point of over $500 for our meal. We reviewed the menu and happy hour drink offerings online ahead of time, but once we arrived, the drink menu was different, which was disappointing. While our waiter was friendly, he didn’t have much knowledge about the food or the menu. Our cocktails took quite a while to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The food and cocktails themselves were good—no complaints there—but the service just didn’t match the level of hospitality I expect at this price point. A small but telling detail: we were handed to-go boxes and expected to pack our own meals. At most fine dining spots, the staff handles that for you with care. Again, I appreciate the warm energy from the staff and the lovely ambiance, but sadly, I wouldn’t return. It just didn’t deliver the level of experience you hope for when treating yourself to a high-end evening out.

D
Don Johnson

It was OK. We came for lunch on a Monday afternoon so maybe that’s why it felt lackluster. The patrons at the table behind us were screaming laughing the entire time, phone ringers going off every 5 seconds and the staff didn’t care. Service was ok. Food was ok. Nothing egregious but nothing worth writing home about. Usually I’ll come to a place like this for lunch to determine if I should come back sometime for dinner to spend the money. I won’t be coming back here.

L
Lenore Thomas

I like to visit restaurants I've never been to by trying their happy hour first. This tells me whether or not their regular menu will be worth my time and money. The fried zucchini was good, it was seasoned well and fried perfectly and I love that they skewered it with Rosemary which was a nice touch, however, what they call aioli tasted like thousand island dressing. The rigatoni was just ok, I loved the perfect Al dente cook on it but the sauce was a little flat. The negroni was incredibly sweet, which a negroni should not be. While the atmosphere was very nice and the staff was extremely polite and personable, I was left disappointed. I have a special place in my heart for the country of Italy, I love the people and the cuisine, so when I find a place locally that can come close to the neighborhood of authentic Italian, that makes me happy....this place it not that. To date there are only 2 Italian places I have found here that transport me back to Italy. I will keep looking. Nice job on service and atmosphere though!
