Really nice, quiet place with easy parking, attentive, helpful service, and terrific food. Can't understand why this place isn't packed every night. We started with hummus which was super creamy and flavorful. Thrn we had the Darbari plate which had shrimp, chicken, and lamb kebobs, a huge portion of delicious rice, grilled whole Roma tomatoes, and a large portion of very fresh green salad. Everything was juicy, and loaded with flavor. It was way more food than two of us could eat. This place is a gem hiding in plain sight
Daribari Persian Grill truly came to the rescue yesterday! I needed catering for 22 people on very short notice, and they were able to prepare everything within an hour. Not only was the turnaround time incredible, but the food was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and a huge hit with everyone. The manager and receptionist were both so kind and accommodating, and the chefs even helped me carry everything out to my car, which I really appreciated. The entire experience was seamless and professional from start to finish. I highly recommend Daribari Persian Grill for catering — they exceeded my expectations!
We were craving some mediterranean Food and found Darbari on online as a highly rated one .Though bit of a drive, we went for it. It's a small , cute little place with not a lot of seating but makes for a nice cozy spot. They have their own parking at the back so no need to park on the street. Food here is great and service is on the money. We tried their mixed kebab skewers and chicken kebabs and both were awesome.
Outstanding Persian Cuisine with a Cozy Atmosphere! This is an exceptional spot for high-quality Persian food. The cozy ambiance immediately sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. The menu offers a variety of great options, and for someone like me who avoids carbs or rice, the ability to substitute a full salad at no extra cost was a huge plus. The food was incredibly delicious and full of flavor—every bite was a treat! I also appreciated that the receipt didn’t include a mandatory tip, giving you the freedom to leave a tip based on your own preference. On top of that, the average food cost was under $30, which is amazing considering the generous portions and excellent quality. Another standout feature was the cleanliness of the restroom, which, although located outside (unlike many Mediterranean restaurants), was well-maintained. I highly recommend this place for dining. The owner’s calm and respectful demeanor added a personal touch to an already fantastic experience. Don’t miss out on this gem! 🙏🎅
First time at Darbari and I had the Chicken and beef koobideh combo, Tahdig & Gheimeh and the house made doogh. The koobideh was so flavorful and juicy. Rice was amazing and tahdig super crunchy. The gheimeh’s flavor is great but I wish it was a bit thicker. Doogh was my favorite, tastes just the same as how my family makes it. Service was very friendly and kind. Overall amazing. Will definitely come back! And Nowruz Mobarak to you all!
The best kept dinner spot in Newport/Costa Mesa! The juiciest chicken and beef in all the lands! They treat me like family every time I walk in the door. Jess helps me every time and she remembers my order. The owner is so friendly and so is the rest of their staff. Very clean and well run restaurant! A locals favorite!
Came here with my friend and her boyfriend who is Persian. This was my first time having Persian food and let me tell you, my taste buds were going crazy!! All the different flavors were amazing. I never thought all these amazing flavors would come together so well. I was blown away. My friends boyfriend approved everything and it was done correctly. I have to say Persian food is now on my list for favorite food. You will not be disappointed
Fantastic food, incredible service. We had large group of 18 people. Food was on the table in 5 minutes. Owners gave us a chance to stay and talk, even after the official closing time. If your are hungry and want high quality lunch or dinner don't think twice.
The atmosphere was inviting. The restaurant had good parking. The staff along with the manager (Mr. MEHDI Tehrani) were very courteous & welcoming. The orders were prepared & delivered in a timely manner and as requested. The food quality was impressive. The price was consistent & online with other Persian restaurants we experienced in Sacramento area, central California & others.
Super nice authentic Persian Resturant , food is great but the best thing about it is the owner attitude who serves us him self with a big smile . Food is fresh and tasty , atmosphere is nice and simply and the prices are reasonable.
Meet up with a good friend over lunch. It’s a cute restaurant. We had the tadig, soltani and skewer of chicken with mixed Persian ice cream faloodeh. It was delicious. Would definitely go back.
Small place but warm atmosphere. Food is good and tasty. Tahdig with 3 stew is a good choice for appetizer.
We went there for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is kind of small, but clean and cozy. The service was good and the food was hot and fresh. Portions are good but a little pricey for lunch menu. I would definitely go back whenever I am in the area.
Never been here before, everything was clean and well presented. Hostess took me to my seat. I asked her what was the Darbaris most sought after dish. She told me the rack of lamb so thats what I got, cooked medium rare. The meal arrived with big heaping side of rice and a roasted tomato. The lamb has cooked to perfection, tender, not chewy, pre cut displayed along the rice. The lamb marinate was top notch! It hit the spot. Even ate all the rice, I was hungrier than I thought. If the lamb was this good in sure everything else is amazing. They offer take-out also. Loved it, must try again!

Great Persian food ! Love the shish kabob's they are so flavorful and juicy. Service is always quick and proficient too !
The food was delicious! So good that I forgot to take a video and dug right in! Even my 4 year old son loved the food and forgot all about his fries! Jess was so kind and thoughtful during our entire visit! Her bubbly and friendly personality made the experience top tier! Definitely coming back again with family! Thank you Jess and the Darbari team for a wonderful dining experience!
I really like this restaurant. It is not luxury but it is clean and pretty. The people are very nice. It has parking and is easy to access. Prices are reasonable. Quality and quantity of food is good.

Nothing special, but nothing horrible. Mediocre, I suppose is the word. However what was exceptional was the price. Chicken/beef kabob (not even 1 of each, but 3 pieces of each on 1 stick) & rice was $26.99. Does not include hummus like these dishes have everywhere else on the planet so that was an additional $7.99 with a few slices of paper-thin flatbread, not even considered pita which was very liquidy, you could pour it out like dressing. Baklava was $4.99 for a 1 inch square piece that is $1 everywhere else so we didn't even bother. Yes, it's Costa Mesa, but it's still kabobs and rice in a town that has plenty of standard cost food. This dish should be $17.99 MAX, as it is 3 buildings away. Disappointed at best.

Today I had my dinner in this restaurant. Food is okay. Place is clean. Parking is available.
Brought my three year old in for takeout dinner tonight, on a Saturday night. They closed way before 9:00pm, their listed closing time. No apology. No sympathy. Just a “we’re closed”.

If you are Persian you know.... this place sucks. Fish was horrible. Koobideh and barg was disgusting. We got 4 different types of food and it was all bad. This was my second time there. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but now I know it wasn't a one off day.
