MaDee Thai Kitchen

My husband and I have been going to MaDee Thai for years, and this is by far the best Thai food we have found in the Newport/Costa Mesa area! Their pad Thai is the best I’ve ever had - it’s always fresh, not super greasy and the quality it consistent. I cannot reccomend this place enough!

My go-to thai restaurant in the OC! Family owned restaurant with delicious Thai food! I usually get the pad thai, pad see ew, pork jerky, and the boat noodle soup. Have been a regular since finding out about this place. Must try!

Best Thai place in Orange County, Newport for sure. It's a small joint so they fill up quick but they also take pickup orders. The best Chilean Thai curry BBQ chicken and even pad Thai around!! Honestly if you haven't been you're missing out.

This is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is AWESOME and the owner is very sweet. We usually do take out. If you have not already, you should really try this spot!

I really like the pad thai here!! This is my go to postmates for thai food. It's good quality, seems pretty authentic and the service is always really good and fast here. You have to try the mango sticky rice here.

We came here based on the good reviews. It was quiet, clean and fast. I think the prices are very reasonable. The pad see ew my wife got was really good, ordered medium spice so it was just perfect. It is very straightforward. No fuss. I like that. We also got the ribeye and it comes with a salad. It was excellent and a good portion. My wife loved it so much we came back the next day for pad Thai and spring rolls. It was tangy and sweet and she barely gave me a bite. The service is good.

Your typical hole in the wall Thai place with a twist. Cash only helps them keep their prices low. Most ppl are doing take away, but I ate in the spartan restaurant-attentive service

This is a great little place for some Thai food. I came here last night and ordered the pad Thai. Both my friends and I had Thai iced tea, which was really delicious. The interior of the restaurant is small, cute, and quaint. The service last night was a little bit slow, with a wait time of about 15 to 20 minutes. I would definitely come back here again for some Thai food when I come to Costa Mesa. It’s a good, casual place to have some Thai food. It’s not too fancy, so you can just get in and out. I will definitely come back here again, this was my second time here. I would definitely recommend coming here if you were in the Costa Mesa area as well.

There's this Thai Kitchen in Costa Mesa that goes by the name of MaDee. It's small unassuming but has a lot of heart in its dishes. It is a fast casual cafe setting so despite the modern industrial feel, you will still experience the full spectrum of Thai food here. The flavors are of Northern Thai so you get a lot more of the Burmese, Chinese and Laotian influences from that region. My friend Drew M. introduced me to this place because he knows that I love all things spicy. We tried the larb, Kao Soi, and the chow mein. Everything was cooked to order so we waited a few minutes for our order to come out. The larb was deconstructed and really disappointing. I have had better and although it's a fresh dish that is light (think lettuce wraps), I was not impressed by the flavors. I was looking for that combination of sweet, sour, savory, and spice. It was lacking. However, I did love the spiciness of the chow mein and the Kao Soi was so amazing. The Kao Soi is crispy noodles in a yellow curry soup. It's so good. I would definitely order this again. The spice was perfect and the coconut flavor very pronounced. They do not skimp on spice if you ask for it. I was quite pleased with the other two dishes. 3.5 stars rounded up.

Seriously, a no frills establishment. That being said, the food is spit on! I ordered a small house salad, and when I was unsure if I wanted the vinegar/ soy dressing or the peanut dressing, the staff recommended the soy, and it was just what the doctor ordered. The salad was freshly cut, and it showed. Next on the table was the dumplings/ gyoza, and they were perfect. Just the right amount of fried deliciousness without being burnt. There were six (6) in the order. Finally, the entree I ordered, Pork Pad Thai, was brought over. This was so perfectly seasoned that I almost forgot to add a little soy. The pork and the noodles were perfect in their preparation. It's a good amount of food. It was so good that I have already decided the next time I go, I want to try the Shrimp Pad Thai. It you like Thai food or want to try "good" Thai food, then MaDee Thai Kitchen is a great place to try. You won't be disappointed.

Decent duck curry. Beef salad was big on the meat but small on the greens. Location is tucked into the corner of a strip mall.

Food was good -- tasty and hot. Portions were average. Very disappointed that the rice serving to accompany the curry was so small. When we asked for another serving, it was given to us, but at the end, we learned that it was $2.50.

The food's really good! But they don't seem to want to wear their masks here. They constantly take the masks off, put them on, wear them half off. Whatever you may think about Covid, my issue is that if they can't follow simple mask regulations then I wonder what other cleanliness issues they are struggling with. But, I'll still come back because they're one of the better Thai restaurants around!

Decent small Thai place. It’s just MaDee and 1 chef in the kitchen so be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes for food during dinner rush. They serve Thai beer which is a plus, and the coconut soup was good.

Decent place for take out. We called ahead and picked up 30 min later. Wished the Tom yum soup had mushrooms and the pad see ew was too salty. But the fried rice and yellow curry were good.

As of today it was the best place with most authentic thai food around. But quality got worse and worse. From last time "Pork Jerky" tasting "off" to this time totally char coaled. I am really disappointed.

Not good. I have nothing against hole-in-the-wall restaurants, but the taste wasn't quite right, and the price was very high. I don't know if the chef had a bad day, or what, but I won't be back. For the same money, there are much better Thai places.

Ive had Thai food over 50 times if i counted and in several different cities. This was the worst....after ordering i asked for glass of water and the lady gave me a 3 inch tall plastic cup..too bad I didnt have my crazy straw but im 55 yoa. The peanut sauce with my salad seemed very watered down and equally dissapointing so did the yellow curry chicken. Barely any flavor of any items. It seems they are Skimping on ingredients to save pennies. Well the salad had decent combination of greens and was fresh and the water was good.
