I've been eating here several times now, and I've always had a great experience with both the fish and meat dishes. The desserts are also excellent, and to finish, their egg liqueur, which you can't call Vov because it's too good.
Charming and very welcoming, with tasty and original dishes, always friendly service, impeccable service, and a super pleasant atmosphere. What can I say... it's an enchanting place.
That we were delighted is an understatement. We are guests in the apartment "above the Posta," and on our first evening, we happily accepted the offer to dine at the restaurant with a special menu for guests. What more can we say? The following evenings, we couldn't help but indulge. Four dinners, and not a single dish we didn't enjoy. The dishes are delicious and never boring, preceded by an entrée that's never the same and always meticulously crafted. Even dessert is preceded by a dessert sampler that perfectly complements the meal. We've left each evening feeling satisfied and fulfilled. We're also enjoying breakfast, and that too is an experience worth savouring. When you come to the Posta, you feel pampered in every way, from the food to the recommended wine. The property is very pleasant and discreet in the right way. Top-notch service in an environment that is elegant but not pretentious, more than pleasant. We'll definitely be back to indulge.
A charismatic restaurant, the entire staff is female, from the kitchen to the dining room. Located in the town center, just steps away with plenty of parking available, one of the owners welcomes you, kind and smiling (smiles are almost rare these days). They seat us in the small room on the right at a large table. After perusing the menu, we ask them for advice, what can I say other than fantastic, a gastronomic journey without fail. An extensive wine list, quality wine by the glass, homemade bread and breadsticks. A FULL ASSESSMENT
Always very good, visited many many times and always coming back. Recommended
We entered by chance, and I must say it was a wonderful experience.... From the bread with fennel butter... to the first courses... Potato gnocchi with morel and bacon and.... To the spaghetti with anchovies and breadcrumbs..... and the tasting of cheeses with jams..... Sublime... Excellent refined cuisine, very friendly and attentive service and delightful location..... I will definitely be back!!!!!
This is how a restaurant can be innovative, without subverting the canons of good cuisine. What can I say? Simple dishes, yet an expression of great quality and passion for good food. The Frosio sisters, in keeping with family tradition, have succeeded in celebrating both the sea and the land. Sincere congratulations.
Posta is family run, dating back to 1910 and is part of a small number of hospitality businesses they operate. On our visit last Saturday, one sister was managing front of house while the other ran the kitchen. The Chef describes herself at la cuoca (the cook), which tells you all you need to know about the lack of any pretensions. A cheap menu of the day, with limited selection, is available to cater for those on budgets or as a working lunch for the locals. There’s also an interesting a la carte option offering both traditional and more modern dishes but we chose the tasting menu. Two versions were available, Di Mare (from the sea) or Di Terra (from the land). Everything was absolutely delicious and, with the exception of the duck breast (which was slightly over), expertly cooked to precision. The ‘amuse bouche’ was a little cannoli of filo pasty stuffed with creamy goats cheese and chives all whipped up to the consistency of a fluffy mousse. It was so light it melted in the mouth. The first course, proper was a hand prepared beef tartar (fasona breed from Piemonte) accompanied by the freshest and most aromatic of raw, thinly sliced porcini mushrooms – a reminder that this is the start of the porcini and truffle season. That tiny amount of crumb made all the difference in terms of offering a contrast to the softness of the beef and had the slight salty tang of parmesan to it. Next up was what I would have chosen from the menu as a starter, lasagnetta di taleggio e tartufo nero. The pasta sheets that made up the little lasagna were wafer thin and as soft and smooth as silk, bound together with creamy taleggio cheese and the whole thing crowned with fresh local black truffles – the first of the season. Words aren’t enough to describe how delicious this dish was. If I’m ever condemned to live as a vegetarian, this is what I would want to eat Duck breast followed (Petto d’anatra e pesche al Porto). Of all the dishes this was the weakest, as the meat was a little tough from the just a few seconds over cooking. The peaches in port though were juicy and luscious and the taste of the meat was robust and yet not too heavy. While other courses scored 10/10, I’d mark this one down to only 9/10! 😉 Two puddings were served. One was, of course, described as a pre-desert, which was an apple cake – moist and full of caramelised apple flavour. The second was zabaglione (rich with eggs, sugar and booze in the form of Marsala) served with a contrasting ice cream. Who would have thought of serving two ‘wet’ elements together but it so worked, as the ice cream cut through the richness of the custard; the sbrisolona (biscuity crumb) offering a nutty texture contrast. Another ten out of ten dish. Coffee was served with a generously sized measure of their homemade egg liquor and some frosted grapes and orange peel, and tuilles. Posta, without a doubt is on my list of places to keep returning to and I’d encourage anyone within an hour or two’s drive to pay a visit too. I may see you there!
Very delicious food, artistic dishes, real gourmet restaurant in a small mountain village.
Owner/manager and chef both so polite and tried to explain things as best they could in English. We went two nights out of our 7 day stay and would happily go back again and again! The food was absolutely delicious and so well presented, with amuse bouche and pre-desserts and petit-fours with coffee, which were all lovely surprises! Even wished us well as one of the evenings was our anniversary. Highly, highly recommend. Everything was perfecto!

Andiamo spesso in questa trattoria/pizzeria. Il cibo è ottimo e abbondante, le pizze sono davvero buonissime. Rapporto qualità-prezzo davvero ottimo. Consigliata!
A historic restaurant in the center of Sant'Omobono, refined yet unpretentious, you'll feel right at home in this pleasant setting, with a roaring fireplace, and a large, comfortable round table. The menu offers both meat and fish, as well as vegetarian options. The dishes are meticulously crafted, using carefully selected ingredients, prepared, and presented beautifully—truly delicious! The wine cellar is also well-stocked. The service was fine, although expectations could be higher for this type of establishment. We were, however, treated to an unexpected pre-dessert and complimentary liqueur (the house Vov, a must-try!). Finally, a word about the bill: I found it to be fair for the service, but I did initially feel the prices were a bit high.
The atmosphere is beautiful, refined, and full of character, with a centerpiece of yellow roses and wine racks stocked with bottles next to the long entrance bar and the fireplace where you can sit inside on cooler evenings. A well-executed traditional menu and an extensive wine list. The shortcrust pastry and goat's cheese appetizer is very good.
I was at this restaurant yesterday for lunch, and I must say I left surprised, full, happy, and eager to return. Surprised because I wonder how I've ever been before. Full, which is not a given in a time when the focus is on aesthetics rather than substance. Happy and eager to return as soon as possible: something that happens to me less and less often. What can I say to describe what you'll find when you visit this restaurant? You'll find friendliness and attentive service, with a truly welcome discretion yet a warmth that makes you feel pampered. You'll find expertise, a calm and composed approach that doesn't feel the need to show off but is there to lend a helping hand when needed. You'll find attention to detail in the dishes: tasty and flavorful, where you can clearly perceive a clear balance between the flavors present, rather than the frequent "competition" between them. Every ingredient and flavor is perfectly balanced to create a true symphony on the palate. You'll find a historic venue updated to modern standards and, something often overlooked (but not in this case), comfortable chairs perfect for letting go and relaxing to enjoy what's served. You'll find an extensive wine list that can satisfy every palate and price range. And finally, you'll find absolutely fair prices considering the care, quality, and attention paid. Overall, I can only highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you love good, healthy food, perfectly served, and, despite all this, want to feel a little at home...go there!
È la seconda volta che vengo.La scorsa volta mi ero trovato benissimo con un tagliere e formaggi locali e costine alla brace, questa volta ho voluto provare la pizza visto che c'è una lista di 99 piz…
Quite a big disappointment after reading such an excellent reviews. As a frequent traveler, I eat a lot out. Normally if you see such a high reviews for a restaurant, it must be outstanding cuisine and that was what we expected from Posta Restaurant. But unfortunately, the reality did not follow. First of all, we took tasting menu and served food not entirely corresponded to it. Secondly, the taste of the food was rather average except dessertS. The desserts were very, very good. The sardines were absolutely dry, covered with crumble - this is considered to be one of the cheapest meals to serve and it didn’t taste good. What was tricky? - the food is served fancy like Michelin. But the Taste is average. Wine list is impressive no doubt, and the wine we ordered was good. Service was outstanding though, very calm, professional, and super friendly (we were with a baby). I am very sorry to admit, but the whole experience was not worth the money.
Ieri ho ordinato la Pizza Fumata Bianca, avrebbe dovuto essere la specialità della casa ma in realtà costa moltissimo (15,00 euro) e ti servono una pizza solo un pochino più larga delle normali e ci …
The food was excellent, really... a shame one of the waitresses was rude. Service is the most important thing in a high-end restaurant, so we won't be returning.
