I would see the advertisement for Dave’s hot chicken on Instagram and I finally decided to go around august and I was hooked! If you like hot chicken sandwiches this is the place to go! There they have different spice levels depending on what you can handle light mild, mild, hot and reaper. Their sandwiches come with pickles, kale slaw plus a side of fries and drink . I’ve never been inside just ordered from the drive through. Highly recommended for sure!

As a first time guest, I was pretty scared but I heard so many reviews about this place. The environment was so welcoming and the cashier realized I was struggling with my food choice and she was so helpful! I ordered and with in 5 mins the food was done. Very very efficient. Saw Dave’s hot chicken all over TikTok and I had to try it, they have a variety of spice level and cashier was super helpful efficient and sweet . Food came out about 5 minutes after ordering and it was hot and fresh! We got medium and it was not hot at all , like no spice whatsoever. Although I was expecting some spice , I’ll still give them 5 stars. Next time I’d get the hot or extra hot. The fries were seasoned so good and the cheese added for flavor to them , the Mac and cheese was so creamy and soft just perfect. Pickles were crunchy and perfect and Dave sauce completes the meal . My bf and I ordered the 2 sliders combo. You get to choose your spice level for each slider, which is nice! We both chose a medium and a mild slider. Next time, I’ll choose the actual hot but our choices were still really good. The “sliders” are quite literally the size of a standard chicken sandwich so I saved one for lunch the next day. Fries were delicious! And, the shakes are fantastic! I ordered the Oreo chocolate shake and there were oreos in every bite! The ice cream does melt fast though so you may want to eat/drink in the restaurant or on your drive home. Nevertheless, the next time I’m in Dallas I’ll definitely be visiting again! Price point can’t be beat. (The food looked so good that I forgot to take pictures until I was full. So only 1 slider is pictured.)

The sandwich didn’t look great at first sight but wow tasted amazing! The house orange sauce they put makes it so flavorful! I got the chicken strips and I loved them, plus the flies were the perfect amount of crispy. Definitely will be coming back here!

You have the option to order online and pick, do coop side (curbside) pick up or have your meal inside. The owner comes to your table and had a conversation with you. He was/is very personable. The chicken is made to perfection and it is high quality chicken but for me I did not like it. I don’t like dry season chicken it’s just what I prefer. I saw that superstar “Drake” invested in this place so I thought to try it but I do no regret the decision I made at all. The people here are really nice and are patient. It is really expensive but I don’t know why the cost of a combo is like $13 but on the other hand it’s prepared fresh and nothing has or been just in a oven over a long period of time. I have driven by this place 1000 times since this is my neighborhood but I never came here. Well, today I finally went inside and I am so glad I did. First of all the atmosphere is great. Lots of room since the tables aren't so packed together. Then, Maria and Izzy at the register were amazing. I told them it was my daughter and my 1st time here and they were very helpful picking the right food out and spice level. My daughter felt so brave she ordered 1 Reaper tender. They even made her sign a waiver for ordering the Reaper tender. After we sat down I started eating my nuggets with no spice mixed with a combination of Dave's sauce and honey. Maria recommended that and boy I am glad she did. It was perfect with the nuggets. My daughter felt brave and took a good size bite of the Reaper tender. Well, I've seen all sorts of podcasts and watching my daughter deal with the heat was funny. I must say, Izzy and Maria were great seeing my daughter suffer giving her a shake to help with the pain. Well, I took a small bite too and it was actually pretty good. The hotness went away after several minutes and I felt great. Coming in here was a great experience mainly because of Maria and Izzy and the food. We will definitely be back.

The fries were perfect with the veggies and sauces — not too thin or too thick, so they paired really well with all the toppings. I personally prefer the non-spicy chicken. I wrongly thought the Reaper was fun marketing so ordered it. It is served in a separate tray. I could eat only four small bites, about 20%. The first bite was ok for a few seconds, but when I swallowed it, the powder coated my throat and burned. Then my lips were burning for the next 30 minutes. My eyes watered a lot. I had slight gastrointestinal pain, and the next morning spent time on the throne also with my mouth watering as if about to throw up; 24 hours to recover. This is named for the Carolina Reaper pepper, created from 2001-2013 by an American breeder from the hottest peppers in India and the Caribbean, certified in 2017 as the hottest in the world, and named for its sickle-shaped tail. It has very dense capsaicin (cap-SAY-sin), the chemical in pepper spray. Capsaicin produces a burning sensation in any tissue it comes in contact with. Plain water is ineffective in removing it, but cold milk can be effective due to forming an emulsion with it. People with heart problems can die of a heart attack. I also had the next-level down Extra Hot tender in a slider, and it was fine, but that and french fries with catsup didn't dilute the reaper pepper's capsaicin. Bottom line, it isn't a marketing gimmick (grin)! For now on, it's medium or mild for me.

Drive thru was pretty quick, the food was a little pricey for one combo and a side ($18.58). That being said the food was good, not great, but definitely worth a try. I got the slider combo #2 in a mild heat, which I could have gone hotter. All in all, not bad and worth giving a try. UPDATE...We decided to give Dave's hot chicken another try, and I'm glad we did. We decided to go inside and get the food to go. The cashier was friendly and chatty. The lobby was very colorful and clean. We received are food togo and drove home to eat. This time we upgraded the heat level to (HOT) and stayed with the #2 combo. The sliders were massive and had a nice heat to it, but still not hot enough for our liking. That means we will need to go back and try the very hot heat level, and see if that does the trick. All and all my experience and food was much better than my first trip, that is why I'm amending my rating to a 5 star. If you have an opportunity to give them a try you should, I think you will enjoy as much as we did.

This place is underrated. The chicken is tender, flavorful and pretty large. I myself did not go past medium spice level because beyond that, you are asking for pain. The flavors are bold and make sure you ask about the heat level before ordering.

Chicken tenders are huge, after eating the slider i ended up taking the tender home. Mild was just right for me since i don't really like spicy. My little brother is used to eating more spicy food than me, he got hot and said it was a bit much for him. The cashier crystal was extremely helpful by suggesting great food options. We ordered the number 1 & 4. The chicken was fresh, but it did not pack a lot of flavor, overall the sauce was a tremendous hit. When I first pulled up, everything seemed good — the staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. But when I got to the drive-thru, I heard a loud sneeze. It didn’t sound like it was covered, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the particles possibly floating around the food and in the air. That really turned me off and made me lose my appetite. Because of that, I ended up leaving without ordering. It may have just been bad timing, but I hope management addresses this so customers can feel confident that food safety and hygiene are always a priority.

Dave’s hot chicken, I ordered the combo #1 which consists of one tender in medium comes with fries and drink. We also tried the combo #3 which has one tender one tender slider with fries and drink in hot. They don’t have ranch but instead offer their sweet sauce and give you the perfect pickles to enjoy. Personally I didn’t care for the flavor. They only have dry rubs. They coat it in honey before flavoring. The slice of bread they lay the tender on wasn’t appetizing. It would be great if they replaced it with a roll or biscuit. Their fries were hot crispy and great! I feel the price is a little to high for what is offered. Restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly. Didn’t visit the restroom but I’m sure it was just as clean as there were employees making sure the store looked right. Thank you for feeding us Dave’s hot chicken.

Very understaffed, long wait for just "okay" chicken. Not compelled to rerun. There are so many places arriving chicken, it needs to be awesome!

I went to Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time and ordered chicken sliders and a milkshake. The milkshake price was very misleading — the menu listed it as $3.99, but I was charged $5.99. I later found out that the extra $2 was for Fruity Pebbles sprinkles on top of the shake. This wasn’t clearly communicated, and it felt misleading.

This place served raw chicken , nothing more to say about please avoid it. Worst experience , with bird flu around and Dave s sev by raw chicken be very careful. See the picture of the raw uncooked chicken, this place making people sick. Run from it.

Don't be fooled by the high ratings (most of them come from the fact that you get a free smoothie by giving them 5 stars). The guy working the window is nice enough, but that's about the only nice thing I can say about this place. The chicken strips are soggy and the flavors aren't good at all (even after tasting a few different spice levels). Can't speak for the atmosphere of the restaurant as well did drive through, but I'd not recommend. We paid around $30 for two people and that didn't even include drinks. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of chicken places out there for which I'd gladly pay this and more but this place isn't worth it.
