EXPERIENCE 2/14/2026 We ended Valentine's Day this year with dinner here at La Cocina. We saw an ad for this restaurant while patroning another restaurant and the Mister suggested we try this out on our way back to Vacaville from Sacramento. Since it was Valentine's Day, he called and made sure there was room for us and we are so glad that there was. SPOT ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥 Situated close to HWY 80, right by the exit on the freeway. Tucked in a strip mall with plenty of free parking. When we walked in, it was a total vibe! We love the decor and the vibrant colors. They had plenty of tables open despite the Valentine's Day weekend. Excited to be seated and have this dining experience. FOOD Since it was Valentine's Day, we opted for one of the specials they had advertised. Fajitas platter ⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥 It was brought out in a platter complete with Steak, Shrimp, Pork and Chicken. We opted for flour tortillas (corn was also available). The plate also consisted of rice and beans and guacamole. We asked for no onions, but were disappointed when it came with HELLA onions both on the side with the peppers and under the meat on the platter. I myself don't mind it, but the Mister did. He ended up moving all those onions to my side so I can eat it all up. Super flavorful with each bite. Guacamole was on point, fresh and I couldn't stop eating it. CHOCO TACO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 As soon as I saw this and mind you it's homemade, I could NOT wait to get my hands on it. So so so good, just like the original Choco Taco we all used to get from the ice cream trucks that roam our neighborhoods back in the days. I was not disappointed. They also had churros and flan as their regular desserts, but today they were out of churros so I was not hurt when they offered the choco taco. STRAWBERRY MOJITO ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I forgot to say they have a full bar. The strawberry mojito was listed as a Valentine's day special, so I'm not sure if they have it all the time. I hope so, because it was amazing! SERVICE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 The staff was extremely attentive and catered to our every needs. I'm not sure if the Owner came and chatted with us and asked how we were doing, but she did mention they've been open for 15 years!!!! Yes, 15 years. She was so nice and inviting as with the rest of the staff. We told her we saw her ad at another restaurant and she was happy that we patron the establishment. Hidden gem ... yes! Fresh and tasty .. yes! We will come back and try some other dishes on the menu. Get there!

The food Is good....but the service is excellent....very cozy...clean and nice place to eat....along....couple family and parties.... Highly recommend this place.

Very nice staff. I get a family feel from this restaurant. Like eating in mamacita's very own kitchen. The food came fast and it's delicious. Juicy meat and soft tortillas. I dined on a soft taco, chicken enchilada and a pork tamale combo. Enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere is good for a strip mall location. The tables are brite, colorful and fun. Worth a pit stop on your trip or making it a regular eater if you're a local. Thank you for the meal. Repeat customer from Idaho.

The food is incredible — fresh, flavorful, and tastes like it came straight from someone’s home kitchen. Every bite feels homemade with real care behind it. From the salsa to the main dishes, everything was seasoned perfectly and served hot and delicious. We had Chile Rellenos, the Veggie Enchiladas, and Combo Plate of a Veggie Taco and Beef Enchilada. And make sure you ask and order, the Fresh Fruit Water, today’s choice was Horchata. The staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Trust me — it’s worth the trip. Grab your friends or family, head over to Dixon, and treat yourself to some of the best Mexican food around. 🌮🔥

Wasn’t planning on finding one of the best Mexican meals I’ve had in a long time—especially not while scouting properties for the day—but La Cocina blew me away. This place is a vibe from the second you walk in. It’s conveniently posted right on the corner across from Starbucks, super central in Dixon. As soon as you open the door, you’re greeted with that loud, warm welcome that honestly reminded me of a high-energy Japanese restaurant. You just feel seen and appreciated as a customer right away. The decor? Full-on Mexican flavor—beautiful, colorful, and authentic. There’s hot sauce lined up on the walls like trophies, and every detail from the chairs to the tile feels like you’ve stepped into a family-run spot in Jalisco. The food? Stupid good. Fresh, flavorful, and undeniably authentic. I had the carnitas (do it—you won’t regret it), and the flavors were on point. Tortillas tasted handmade, salsa had the right kick, and everything just felt like real home-cooked Mexican food. Clearly, I’m not the only one who thinks so—place was full of happy locals, and that tells you everything. I’m out here with my team from Twin Home Buyer and Equity Track, looking at a few properties today, and randomly stumbled on this place. Now I’m already planning to stop here again on my next trip through Dixon. If you’re driving through or anywhere nearby, La Cocina is worth the detour. Legit.
