Opinions de Hudson Social Dobbs Ferry
had an awesome meal here recently! our server was so nice, and the food was fabulous. drinks a little pricey but super strong so it balanced out. great location and i love that you can sit outside comfortably if the weather is nice. just be sure to get a parking pass for your car because you will almost certainly get a ticket in this lot.
Food and drinks were amazing! Tabitha took great care of us.
My food was amazing. My favorite thing on the menu was the bang bang cauliflower. My bartender Krysten was super friendly and makes such a great espresso martini!
I really like this place! By the water and the train! The manager is really helpful and knowledgeable about the best cocktails and pairings!!
The food, drinks, atmosphere and service were definitely great!! I had salmon with roasted potatoes and spinach, and my husband had brisket with truffle fries, and my father had the burger and fries. Everything was delicious and great service!! We will definitely be back with more family. The plans are in the making!!
Had a fantastic dinner overlooking the River at sunset with my husband and fur baby. Super dog friendly - they brought a water bowl over to all the dogs there. The burger and chicken Milanese were delicious. Great spot for outdoor dining - definitely worth the drive. But if your dog is going to bark the whole time it’s probably best to leave it home.
I only wish we lived closer! We were visiting sleepy hollow for the day from Long Island and wanted to find a place where we could sit and eat and bring our dogs too. Found Hudson social on the Bring Fido app. Did not disappoint! We sat outside and enjoyed a delicious meal. The lemon pepper chicken wings and pretzel bites to start off with were amongst the best we ever had. We also had Greek salad with grilled chicken A burger and a kale salad. Everything was perfection! It was early so the menu was not as extensive so we will plan to go back for dinner without the pups next time. If you're in the area check it out, we also enjoyed the water view and a nice walk afterwards along the river.
Tabitha and Chase are amazing. I’m gonna bring all my friends. I love coming here
Really great spot by the water, the manager is fantastic and the servers are always nice and accomadating! Thank you!
Krysten is an absolute pleasure behind the bar. Her smile and upbeat personality makes even your worst day turn around! Will be coming back.
This restaurant is great and it offers amazing service. We rented the venue for our daughter's Sweet 16, 2 years ago and everything turned out perfect. This year I came from Pelham, NY for the spiked cider and they do not have it. Please bring it back!
I love coming here. The manager always says hi and checks on us. This is the best hang out spot in westchester. Chase (the bartender) is the best.
On my first visit I had the Roasted Spaghetti Squash topped with blackened Mahi Mahi. The spaghetti squash was perfectly cooked and pairs so nicely with the kale and wild mushrooms. On my second visit I had the Slow Roasted Brisket. The meat was so tender, it melted in my mouth like butter! The potatoes were crispy and the broccoli was perfectly charred. The views from the restaurant of the Hudson River are breathtaking. I highly recommend making reservations for a table outside!
My friend and I had lunch at Hudson Social and it was a great experience. The food and service were both great. Thank you, Matt!
Awesome place, Burger was cooked perfectly. Fast service. Staff was awesome, Highly recommend! Will definitely go back
So not much on available food pics because we were so enthralled in just the experience of both high quality food AND service as well as the views. We ordered brunch on Sunday and had French Toast (perfect light crunch and condiments) and the pulled pork and potato hash (this dish alone is reason for you to come). Fun drink menu and just too sweet to be able to sit, talk, eat, drink, and wrap up with cappuccinos. 4 1/2 hours!
I was hiking the OCA trail from Tarrytown and I stopped here for lunch. They have a nice outdoor dining area and I believe they have indoor dining as well. Nice view of the Hudson River and right below the train station. I got the salmon burger and it was good and they give you a lot of crispy fries. A pint of draft beer was nice especially on a warm day. They sanitize the table after each customer and the tables are spaced out nicely. Great service as well.
I went to Hudson Social this past Sunday and it was my first and def not my last time here. Everything was amazing. The place, the food, the drinks, and the service was just the best. Easy menus with all delicious choices, well priced. Not enough wonderful things I can say but will be going there more often. Tons of parking. Right off the Dobbs ferry train station. Beautiful water views. Last thing if I didn't mention it before. The service was AMAZING! EVERYONE IS SUPER FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE.
Had a very positive experience at Hudson Social. The Short Rib sandwich was really good. The service was also excellent. I was able to get a side of house special sauce although it didn’t come with my sandwich. The views are also great, as well as the location (literally right off of the train). Lastly, they have a bar snack menu for those just looking to drink. (Since you are required to order a food item thanks to Covid.) $5 chicken fingers or chips and salsa? Sounds good.
Samantha is a great bartender. I'd prefer you sit elsewhere to keep my seat free! Wonderful salad and hard lemonade turned into a cocktail on this visit ... Great tip Samantha!
I love it here! The staff is fantastic. The food is exceptional. The manager is so kind, professional, and absolutely hilarious. Will be coming back, and inviting all my friends.
There are not enough amazing things I can say about Hudson Social! My husband and I got married here and had the absolute wedding of our dreams. Long before we decided to do this though we had been coming to Hudson Social to dine and always loved the food, service and location, which is why we chose to have our small, intimate wedding here. Right after we chose a date, we were put into contact with the events manager who was so kind and attentive to all of our needs up until the day of our wedding. He answered any and all questions we had and made sure that our vision came to life. We even ran into some potential weather issues and both the events manager and manager helped us tremendously navigate through this possibility. We cannot say thank you enough to Hudson Social and will always hold a special place in our hearts for the restaurant where we got married!
One of my favorite places to sit outside, enjoy a view, and have some bites. Food never disappoints, drinks are tasty, and the servers are always friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Tabitha, who always goes above and beyond!
Attended a Surprise 50th Anniversary Party Luncheon on Sunday, July 31st, 2022. 100 people present with buffet lunch and Open Bar. Delicious food and seating space on 2 levels provided for DJ, photos, and kids to run around upstairs without disturbing the adults who were seated comfortably on street level for guests. Parking available with ADA ♿ compliant facilities. Air conditioning kept all guests cool on a warm, 🌞 day. Folks could even go outdoors if needed. Attentive wait staff made sure that guests' needs were met. I would highly recommend and come back without any hesitation ! 😊
Where to start? I am a stickler for customer service coming from a background in it and that’s my #1 rule for any establishment. Matt and the Hudson Social team are fantastic!! We had a baby shower here and from the planning stages to the end of the party they were always on point with communication, flexibility and overall service. The restaurant was recently deep cleaned, all staff were wearing masks and also temperature checked upon arrival to their shift. They really have been going above and beyond to keep everyone safe. I would recommend Hudson Social for any occasion! Order the mac and cheese and an aperol spritz!
I recently got in touch with Joe at Hudson Social to help me plan a surprise engagement and birthday party for my fiancée here. Joe was extremely helpful and stayed in touch with me for every part of the process. All of my requests were taken care of and the day went smooth as butter. The staff were amazing and super friendly. The food and drinks were absolutely great! From custom cocktails to the local beers, everything was perfect. We all had an amazing time and I’ll definitely be coming back to enjoy the view. Thank you guys for hosting us!
I rode to Dobbs Ferry from Queens with friends it was a beautiful and challenging adventure. HUDSON SOCIAL was our destination, too bad we didn’t find it. It was a few feet away from where we took pictures on the waterfront, where I parted with my friends who headed back to the hills to ride back and I went a few feet to metro north train station and there was, Hudson Social! The bar outside and tables was perfect for bike group but alas I was alone to bad my friend left they would have had a great time too. There was a live band for Memorial Day weekend. The waitress-bartender was lovely and helpful helping me with downloading the app to but train ticket and with the schedule. The food was great too! I had grilled mahi-mahi.
Went here as a group we had the option of indoor and outdoor seating . This is a very popular location and gets lots of costumers . It is ran very orderly and kept you can see that the staff and management strive to keep it as such. It is a very family friendly location even allows you to sit outside with your furry friend if you want . The food and drinks here was delicious and the portions are good and matches the price . This is a must visit place in Dobbs Ferry .
The staff and the atmosphere make the train ride from the city up there makes it worth every minute to and from. The staff : Juan and I think it’s Jose(with the aviator glasses on) always manage to make me feel welcomed. I have suffered a back injury and have had to drag a pink suitcase with me each time just to avoid carrying heavy items on my shoulders. Not once have they made me feel weird or uncomfortable for this random item being with me. I go as often as I can to enjoy the live music on Thursday’s during the warmer season. The menu isn’t overwhelming with options which I consider a plus. Do yourself a favor order the pretzel bites and the buratta when you are there. Cannot wait til I stop by soon.
Food, ambience, service are amazing. I see a lot of complaints on prices but I find it inexpensive and I’m far from rich compare to all the restaurants in the area that don’t even have a nice view. I had pulled pork tacos I give them a 6.5/10 I feel like they are missing something but I don’t know what and the sriracha wings were amazing! I’ll be back to try other items.
We recently held a private event for our wedding celebration. We were very happy with the service and the great location. We paid for the entire space for our event and the staff was accommodating and helpful throughout and allowed us to add all the things we wanted to bring in for decorating. Everyone enjoyed the food a lot as well. Would recommend.
Take out food was fine, probs not best idea we had to include fries that cold quickly. But the brussel sprouts app was delicious! All 3 of us loved it & will def order again. Highlight was Sam, bartender, who made delicious cocktails while I waited for our food. She was adept, kind, funny and made a great Lemon Drop martini! Would return there for drinks just to sit at her bar and relax with a delicious libation. Sam is def a keeper.
I visited Hudson Social today and ordered a quick lunch. I got the pulled pork tacos and the Brussels sprouts — both were out of this world and came out in record time, faster than any sit-down restaurant I’ve been to. The staff there is very friendly, always has a smile, and is more than happy to accommodate any food modifications or allergy concerns. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager at the time, which made my day. She asked if everything was alright with the food and if I wanted any drinks. Talking to her made my day since she has this down-to-earth, bubbly personality. I felt very at home and wish I could give 15 stars to this restaurant that overlooks all the boats on the Hudson River.
Nice spot near the train station. There is limited parking to the right of the restaurant for a 2 hour limit, and they also offer parking passes outside of those spots. I'd recommend getting the buffalo chicken sandwich. Had a good kick to it, and not overly done with sauces and spices like other places usually do it. Comes with fries as well. There's seating outdoors and they're pet friendly in this area. Nice calm views and the service was pretty good. i'd recommend coming here.
We went there with our friends on a July afternoon for dinner. We sat outside. The service was great. We ordered several items and all of them came reasonable quickly and were quite tasty. We specifically liked the fish dishes. Overall, it was a good experience. We would gladly go back there again.
Amazing spot for Happy Hour and then taking a walk along the river. Great outdoor bar! Go for live music on Thursday nights, watch the sunset, grab some great food and hang with the locals! Right on the train line and great for taking a trip up or down the Metro North Hudson Line for a chill time.
I was pleasantly surprised by my wonderful dining experience at Hudson Social. We sat outside, and although the outdoor seating overlooked the train station parking lot, it was enclosed and set up with comfortable tables and seating. The food was simply amazing. The portions were huge and delicious. We started with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. The combination of bacon, almonds, and maple syrup made this a sweet, crunchy culinary delight. I followed this up with the Slow Roasted Brisket. This giant slab of brisket was moist, tender, and covered with a superb tangy bbq glaze. They didn't skimp on the pickles or fries either. They were both plentiful and appetizing. The service was polite and diligent, and added to our overall enjoyment of our meal. So glad that we decided to dine here.
Long overdue review! We held our engagement party here back in November. This was the first event I had ever had to host, I was a bundle of nerves and had actually never been to Hudson Social before. Joe went above and beyond with communication and making sure our event was what we envisioned. The staff at Hudson Social were also extremely nice and made our guests feel very welcomed. Food was amazing too! I still remember walking in and smelling their cider. Will have to come back for a meal!
Came in with coworkers to wind down from a stressful week at work and to also celebrate two of their birthdays. We were seated right away, as we waited for the last person to show up, we ordered drinks, chips and guacamole to start. Before I continue, I have to say that I am a professional Executive Chef, with a degree in Culinary Arts, as well as Business and Restaurant Management, so my review may be different from others. The good: Great atmosphere, amazing view, love that the train passes by as you eat and drink. Whomever was the bartender, please keep that person and give them a raise! The drinks were amazing and more importantly consistent to taste, color in every way. I assure you, it will be hard to only have one drink with how perfectly made they are. The chips and Guacamole tasted amazing, worth buying as a starter completely so I recommend it. Now, I will speak of where it went down hill. We all placed our orders, first I will say that the waitress was sweet, very attentive, but should have written down our orders. I say that because we all ordered food and specifically said certain things, one said no coleslaw, another said no pickles, I wanted truffle fries, and someone else wanted sweet potatoe fries. None of our orders came as we asked, so our food had to be taken back for correction. I had ordered the Cuban Sandwich with truffle fries. I received regular fries, and when they returned my plate, all they did were sprinkle the truffle fry mix on my fries I stead of doing it correctly and mixing the fries with the blend in a mixing bowl. My sandwich was dry, the pork very dry for a Cuban Sandwich and there was no ham which is part of a Cuban sandwich. My co worker who ordered the same sandwich said the same exact thing. The fries were good, just upset that they didn't do my fries correctly, my friend who ordered regular fries received truffle fries and those fries were done correctly and tasted amazing. Everyone at the table didn't eat much of the food, we all ordered sandwiches and everyone was disappointed with them. Maybe a Friday night isn't the time to order sandwiches? When we first walked in, one co-worker mentioned that we are celebrating birthdays if they can please send over two cakes for with candles right after dinner. When we were done with dinner, the waitress came, they took our plates and we ordered dessert and waited. My co worker had to go remind them about the birthdays. The gentleman that brought the birthday cakes came and sang happy birthday with us and said the cakes were on the house. Maybe it was an off day for sandwiches, but it's hard to say as all five of us were very disappointed with our meals and no one hardly ate. However, the drinks were amazing and we've all decided to give this place another chance in April. Next time we will make reservation's as it will be with more people.
Views are fantastic, the food is plain Jane. You're not going here for the food, you're coming for the views. Service was really slow on a quiet night. Had to get up a few times to find help.
We enjoyed Hudson Social. We'd like to go back for an outdoor experience, because the night we went was cold and rainy and had to sit inside. They seated us upstairs which is a very cool space, but kind of small and very loud. Our waiter and bus service were great. The food was good and plentiful however it's hard to judge overall when all you order is nachos, a burger, and chicken sandwich. However, I will say the nachos were pretty good, but needed more cheese for the 'under' chips. The burger was good, and the chicken club was also good, but very messy. We'll definitely go back to sit outside and try more food options.
My friends and I went here as a little group get together and we did a sort of tapas style meal. We got the Brussels sprouts, fries, wings, pretzel bites, burgers and a couple of pitchers of sangria and just hung out as we listened to the live band play music (only on Thursday nights - I think) and watch the sunset. If you are looking for a nice little getaway right next to the Hudson River and easily accessible via public transportation (Dobbs Ferry trainstop is right next to it) this is a great spot to hit up. Would definitely recommend it to others as well as friends.
Went here for Labor Day for an early dinner with a friend and our pups. The drinks and apps were delish, especially the Brussel sprouts. I also ordered the salmon burger but it wasn’t my fave. I thought it was going to be a salmon filet but it was a pattie mixed with peppers, etc. Thats ok! Will try a diff sandwich next time.
If you are loooking for a laid back environment with good food, this is it. Its also great in the summer months when you want to be outdoors and right by the train line to the city! I came and had a corona with a burger, it was delicious! The burger had guac which was also tasty. The fried were well seasoned and hot! My friend got a cheese steak which they also enjoyed! For the type of food, the place is a bit pricey especially as there were no happy hour specials. I would come back though.
Went here after a local hike aling the Hudson River. Food was typical resturant food but with a good view of the river in the background. There was a private event at that time but only outdoor dinning was available but it was alittle chilly and they didnt turn on any heaters they had outside.
The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. Visited on a Sunday and i still required a Parking permit which they provided quickly. I Just dropped in for a drink, both of which were pretty decent. My fave item was the blackened Brussels which came out quick and were delicious. Didn’t eat anything else but the food I saw all looked good. Sat indoors since it’s summer but the patio was bustling and busy and they had a water mist machine to keep the patrons cool. Afterwards took a stroll in the nearby park.
They have a large variety as well as a nice menu. Service was timely and temperature was comfortable. Everything was delicious, but I'm unsure if I'd come back unless they're having an event. Get the seasonal soup if you go, it was warming and comforting.
Cool after work spot. Went with my co-workers. Had the burger and onion rings. The burger was good, onion rings were regular. Also had BBQ chicken as an appetizer and it was just ok. It was fried hard and needed more seasoning. The drinks were ok to me as well (I believe the drink I had was called Harbor Breeze). The service was really good.
Wow what a great place, on the water front, great food and great service. We had some apps, Brussels sprouts sweet and savory perfect also had the pretzel bites. Cuban sandwich was a really great surprise and a burger. Let me also say the fries were amazing, crispy yet tender. Great food with a great location.
Cute place, probably former train station. Free parking with pass available with manager. Pretty water views. A little crowded inside. Service a little uneven on timing but friendly. Worth it to be able to park here and walk around outside for a few minutes. Interesting trees by the water. Manager was nice.
I had a great experience with the food here! The Brussels sprouts were amazing—crispy and full of flavor. The loaded nachos were also a hit, and I ordered a salad that was fresh, tasty, and surprisingly filling. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely worth recommending. The only downside was the service. Our server seemed quite young and maybe a bit inexperienced, which showed in the level of attentiveness and pace. That said, it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience because the food really stood out.
Incredibly standard dining experience. Food was well cooked and came out timely but just generally underwhelming. Pretzel bites appetizers were the same wholesale form as Costco served with the same mustard. For the price point I simply expected a little bit more. Was the experience bad? No. Did I leave fulfilled? Also no.
I ordered buffalo wings. $16. Dudes gave me 6 wings. 6. Genuinely unbelievable. And they had the nerve to put it under the “to share” section. Who’s sharing 6 wings?? They were really good, don’t get me wrong, but 6 is crazy. Do better.
Wrong place to sit outside with hundreds of lantern flies. Ordered Wings (mild) , Waiter told me they don't make mild wings. Pretzel Bites (wanted honey mustard, they didn't have any) it can with regular brown mustard. Ordered coffee with cream. The cream turned bad sitting 15 minutes until we ordered another coffee. A little pricey.
Was OK not terrible. While most staff was focused on a private party service to regular customers was slow. Tables were sticky which made for an unpleasant eating experience. Took over 8 minutes from when payment was presented to receiving my receipt. Again service slowdown likely due to party but was Valentines weekend which should have been taken into consideration. However can't forgive sticky tables.
My wife and I have eaten here 3 times over the last 5 years, each time more disappointing then the previous. The more recent reviews seem to tell a similar story. Lunch service seemed to be staffed well, plenty of people circulating and the seating was instant. Our food was prompt to arrive at the table, hot and ready to eat. Overall service was good. We sat down to a gorgeous outdoor October lunch. Wings were a great appetizer, crispy and sizeable but the BBQ sauce seemed to be the entire flavor profile and the chicken offered nothing of its own; not a deal breaker. Budget pretzel bites with your standard grocery store brown mustard are genuinely overpriced for what they are; lesson learned if there is a future visit. Sadly, the pulled pork sandwich my wife ordered disappointed us the most. The pork was hardly pulled, more of a chunked consistency which gave careless vibes from the kitchen staff and the pork offered nothing without the (same) BBQ sauce to save the day. The fries that came with both dishes seemed to be from 3 separate time zones. Some were fresh, some were dry, others were stale. I ordered the Fried Cod sandwich ( with fries ) which I can't say bad things about, but I wouldn't pay for it again. We love to support our local businesses and eat out regularly in the river towns so I hope this was a fluke.
I recently dined at Hudson Social and while I enjoyed the ambiance and outdoor seating, I couldn't help but feel the prices were over the top. $20 for a thin patty chicken sandwich felt excessive, especially considering you can get larger sandwiches for half the price at fast-food chains like Chick-fil-A or Popeyes. The fries were good, and the venue itself was lovely, with nice customer service to boot. However, the steep prices left me feeling disappointed. If you're willing to splurge for the beautiful waterfront setting or convenience near the train station, Hudson Social might be worth it, but be prepared to pay a premium.
I didn’t care for this place at all. The views of the Hudson are nice despite cars being in the way but that’s the only good thing I have to say based on my experience. First the service was awful. I’m not sure why, maybe this is not an ongoing thing but I really don’t want to return to find out. My husband and I waited around a really long time for the waiter to come and then it took forever for our food to come out. We didn’t even receive our drinks until AFTER we ate(mind you our drinks were just fountain drinks and non-alcoholic). This is AFTER we waited so long for our food. It might have been around 45 minutes if not more. I was annoyed. Then the food was not even worth the wait. This is a pricey menu for lackluster food. Literally the best thing was my fountain drink. The flavor of the social fries was borderline nasty and then it had the nerve to be dry 😭😭 and both my husband and I’s sandwiches lacked any kind of flavor. I couldn’t believe how disappointing when this place has 4 stars. I guess people just like the views and drinks. I would not recommend if you want quality eats. And definitely don’t go if you have other plans. You’ll be waiting an hour to eat sandwiches. .
Very disappointing, smallest portion of Salmon I think I have ever been served. Over cooked and too thin, very disappointing. $34??? Update, Called and Manager took the Salmon off the bill of course he did ask if I specified a temperature which I found humorous as it was essentially jerky..so temperature I should have ordered would should have been edible I guess.
This is the first time I have ever posted a poor review. I really like this place for happy hour and live nearby. Decided to sit at a table and have a bite with my gf last eve. We ordered the fish sandwich to share, and the piece of fish that came on the sandwich could have fit in the palm of Trump's tiny hand. For $24??? The waitress told me she couldn't break a $20 bill for a tip. Will never eat there again.
First time I came here. Food was good. Beautiful atmosphere, Service was 100.. with the male bartender outside was really nice Dude. The second time I go there, female bartender, we order our food Why do they bring out the appetizers in our food together? Really? I had to change my five star review to a two star review!; I hope they get it together.
We had a reservation for outside. The hostess seemed like she wasn't even there. We ordered some Truffle and Parm fries for a starter. They came out right away so when they tasted stale, I knew they were pre-cooked. Our drinks came out in plastic cups, and the water was served in plastic cups. So this place is NOT environmentally friendly. Our waiter was pretty much non- existent . They sat a large group (with dogs), next to us. One of the dogs kept on barking so we asked to move. Which we did, with no help from the staff to move our drinks, waters, and fries. When our entrees finally arrived, we found the food okay. My tacos were served with a plastic cup filled with dense sour cream. No hot sauce or any type of sauce for the tacos. My husband's vegetarian dish with roasted veg over hummus was okay. The tacos were okay. Food was okay, the rest, not so much. Won't be back.
these people are so rude. went here for a friendsgiving dinner and stayed and the cops came and they kicked EVERYONE out. even people of age. i don’t know why they mistreat people like this. me and all my friends are of age and they pushed us out. don’t come here!
Starting off I was told to go in and get a parking pass then go back outside to put said pass on my dashboard. The parking here is awful, that is not, necessarily the establishment's fault. The main thing I wanted to talk about was the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, which I will remember for the rest of my life as the worst chicken sandwich I have ever experienced. I can forgive the awful lighting in the upstairs area or having to crouch to get to my seat in the corner. But this chicken sandwich was a quality that of which could never be forgiven. The texture of rope, dry as the Sahara and a bun so stale it could've used as a deadly weapon. I've eaten in public school cafeterias that never would've served something this bad. It should be against the Geneva Conventions and categorized as a war crime. $21 + tip for what amounts to a food crime that several people in my party experienced. We have vowed never to return here as the trauma is just too great.
Let me preface this with the fact that I am not a fussy eater (literally eat practically anything you put in front of me), I'm a very patient man AND I don't make a scene or cause stress to staff and the clients around me... I'm a pleasant person. Anyway, this was probably the worst experience I've had in years! Service was lacking attentiveness (only about 4 or 5 tables sat and after watching our server hold her head [i get it, it's tiring, been there] and talking with another server behind the counter for the whil, we had to literally yell to the server to get our order taken. I'm sorry Tara but it's true.) My friend ordered the Bruschetta, bland and not memorable (to the point that I had to come back and write this after almost finishing this review). She ordered a salad with a balsamic which, when it arrived, looked in-cre-di-ble!!!! I didn't try it but it was a large portion and she finished at least 3/4ths of the dish. The problem was the Hangar "Steak" I ordered. When it arrived it wasn't a steak, but beef medallions (pictured). I expressed my disapproval to the server, but told her I was so hungry that I would eagerly eat anything and not to worry. It was definitely not cooked to order (I asked for rare) and after one bite I literally pushed the plate as far away as I could without it falling off the 6 top we sat at. The server came by at some point to ask if everything was okay (which I found quite funny since it was clear I wasn't eating and the plate sat there lonely and sad, not even the flies daring to venture near it). I assumed that she saw it when she came by again to ask about drinks and literally stood next to the untouched plate... no awareness level points scored. When the check arrived (this was a quick visit) I left a $100 bill in the sleeve for what was approximately a $60 tab. I also wrote a message on the tab expressing that the steak was terrible. When she came back with my change she apologized for the fact that I wasn't happy with the steak, but hadn't removed it from the check (I actually told my friend that I assumed they would remove it from the tab so I would leave a $25 tip [the cost of the "steak"] in addition to her 25% tip [i was going to leave 25% of the original check] my usual gratuity wherever I go). Having worked in a dozen restaurants and having 5 uncles who own multiple restaurants, I was a little confused by how this was handled. So, instead of almost a $40 tip she earned $14 gratuity and the restaurant earned this candid review. Obviously I don't plan to return. Went to Pipers Kilt instead and got the Eastchester burger. Amazing!!!!! I highly recommend it. And their kitchen was open after 11pm! Thank god!
Just a heads up for anyone thinking of coming here - don’t waste your money. I’m including the receipt so people can see what we paid, because the food just didn’t match the price point. The drinks were average in cost and quite delicious, but the service was terrible. I understand it was a busy night, but our waiter barely acknowledged us. The Mahi Mahi APPETIZER tacos were $20 for just 2 tacos & they were straight-up awful. The fish tasted like it came straight out of the freezer, and it was overall super dry. No sauce at all. The bang bang cauliflower? Super soggy.. The $27 brisket sandwich? NO FLAVOR and the bread was terrible. The only thing we actually liked were the fried pickles… and even those cost as much as a cocktail. People say, “You’re paying for the view,” but for me, it wasn’t worth it at all. Definitely won’t be going back.
The only reason we’re giving this establishment two stars, is because some of the staff members were nice. The food was bland and stale. The mango mojito pitcher was extremely watered down. We were sitting in the last row of tables almost right against the restaurant. The sun was beating right on my husband and I. We were so hot. When we asked to be moved to seating with more shade, the manger said he couldn’t accommodate us. Meanwhile, we sat across an unoccupied table for 45 minutes, without a reserved label and while sweating. You would think that an establishment that predominantly seats costumers outside, would have a few extra umbrellas to place outside. To provide some extra shade from the heat. Unfortunately it’s the first that I ever heard my husband say “we’re never coming back here again” Honestly, we would have been better off buying a few things from the supermarket and having a picnic in the park across the street. We would have saved ourselves a lot of discomfort.
This google page says this place opens at 11AM, but we took the train and walked in to a sign that says they only open at 4PM... will come back and fix this review once I actually have the chance to try the place out.
We had our 40th bday there and we were so disappointed. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I would definitely not recommend this place. I would never go again for an event or even on a regular night. The bathrooms were gross and not clean. They took away the food before the time was up and even when they said we could have more time. They were cleaning up and rushed us out and made our guests feel like it was time to leave before the 3 hours paid for was even up. We were supposed to have a bar tender catering to us but we had to keep going down to get him to take orders so we didn’t get much out of open bar.
Never again would I step foot in this place. Had a private event there and host was in a rush to kick us all out. Drinks were all soda not 1 drop of alcohol. Bathrooms looked like a scene from a horror movie. Best part is they took food away without even asking us . Food was cold. Host of party was so rude wanted every last dollar before party started now I know why. Everyone there should learn how to host a party before working there
We had my sister’s bridal shower here. Food was not worth the expensive price at all. Prices of the menu kept changing when trying to finalize the menu. General manager got nasty with us as well. We were told the private room upstairs could easily fit 50 people. We had 30 people for our party and everyone was bumping into each other or their heads on the ceiling that caved in from the rooftop. Luckily the bridal shower went well overall but we don’t recommend eating here or booking your event here.
