We were so lucky to reserve last moment for a New Year’s dinner on 31/12. Fantastic gastronomic experience! Everything made from top seafood ingredients, change of courses, elegant presentation and so delicious!!! This restaurant is a true hidden gem of the area which deserves a Michelin star for sure. Deborah & Ricardo are making magic to create atmosphere and and unforgettable sense joy of the tastes and night out. Would 100% recommend to everyone and come again!
This is a small restaurant in the hills between lake Como and the lake of Lugano. The owners are very attentive and the food is lovely. The atmosphere is relaxed but well thought out. The food is classic modern Italian with a twist.
Top restaurant. We came over from Morcote in Switzerland to dine here, and it did not disappoint. A restaurant ran by a couple with the husband running the front of house and the wife as the chef - you can tell they are truly passionate with what they do. We split the tagliatelle with truffles and a florentine steak, which was cooked absolutely perfectly. The bread basket was delicious. The owner picked a delicious red that was his personal favorite to go with the meal, which we enjoyed thoroughly. At the end of the meal, he gifted us a jar of fig marmalade made that day. Well worth the drive through the mountains for this place. I hope to one day be back.
We had a wonderful evening for two at the Osteria de Cin. As a starter there was carpaccio with truffles – simply fantastic! My boyfriend then had a T-bone steak that was cooked to perfection and tasted great. I initially had pasta that wasn't quite to my taste - but the owner was incredibly attentive, immediately came over and offered me something different. The tortellini with tomato sauce that I got was really delicious! A loving host, great food and an all-round lovely evening. We'd love to come back!

I had the pleasure of dining at Osteria de Cin in Claino, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family, and the attention to detail is truly commendable. The service was absolutely top-notch. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely passionate about providing a memorable experience. Their warmth and professionalism added so much to the meal, making it even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food! Every dish we tried was exceptional, but the Bavarian cream absolutely stole the show. It was silky smooth, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and melted in the mouth like a dream. This dessert was the highlight of the meal, and I cannot recommend it enough—it’s the kind of dish you’ll be thinking about long after your visit. Overall, Osteria de Cin delivered on every front: excellent service, a welcoming atmosphere, and mouthwatering dishes that reflect the heart and soul of Italian cuisine. My wife and I had an incredible dinner at Osteria De Cin last night. Riccardo, the manager, was an absolute gem—friendly, personable, and made us feel right at home. Deborah, the head chef, cooked up some of the best food we’ve ever had. The dry-aged steak was hands down the best I’ve ever had, and the porcini mushroom tagliatelle was equally delicious. We started with ham and fig, a beautiful and fresh combination. The wine was amazing and paired perfectly with every dish—definitely some of the best wine we've had during our travels. The restaurant’s location up in the mountains added to the charm, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a family-run place, and they really treat you like friends, not just customers. Riccardo and Deborah went out of their way to make us feel like part of their family. The whole experience was warm, authentic, and beyond just a meal. Highly recommend this gem if you're in the area! Grazie! ❤️
An hidden gem. This is really good Italian modern contemporary cuisine. Wine is great and food is even better. Also don’t be fooled by the nice pictures, this place was also very kids friendly. If you want to make this is great half day trip then start by taking an easy 1h hike to Santa Guilia mountain church (it’s Forrest shade all the way). The route starts in the city behind this restaurant and have good markings. It’s 1h each way with kids and breaks and then return for lunch here. Perfect half day trip.
Our best meal in Italy, bar none - in taste, it atmosphere, in service, in quality of ingredients. The table felt like a dinner party at a close friend’s home - and Ricci treated us exactly that way, walking us through the menu sharing the source of ingredients, the method of preparation, the approach to the design of the dish (eg, they use no tomatoes in their duck ragu, a controversial choice with spectacular results). He helped us make personal choices to fit our palates. He shared his wonderful wine cellar, and brought out his partner, head chef and true star, his wife, to share with us as well. But the food was the star of the show. The spinach and chard flan was savory creaminess redefined. The beef carpaccio was mounded with truffles. The seafood salad was tender fish, octopus and squid packed with flavor. For primi, we had pesto gnocchi, duck ragu over tagliatelle, and papardelle with truffles The gnocchi were light as air. The tagliatelle was like comfort food all grown up, and the papardelle with truffles brought complexity scented with a feeling of being in the woods. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s just true. For secondi we had a brilliant cut of meat - we’d called it a porterhouse here. Tender with a perfect crust. We followed with a spectacular assortment of local cheeses - local as within 10 miles. The cheese was accompanied by a brilliant red wine and truffle honey, a flavor I had never experienced. Our kids had a deconstructed cheese cake that they loved. All in all a tremendously special evening - if you are around Lake Como or Lake Lugano, you should go to Osteria de Cin now …
What a beautiful evening, I don’t have words to describe this 💎! I’ve been surprised by my amazing husband which take lots of time when we are in holiday to find amazing restaurants at reasonable prices , great food and good reviews! Stepping into another world soon as you enter Osteria De Cin . Ricardo/Riki took great care of us , he helped us choosing the wine and he was super charming with great sense of humour! After testing the best food in Italy 🇮🇹 since we’ve been touring for few weeks ! We had the best pasta ever ! We were so curious 👀 of meeting the Great Chef 👩🍳 , amazing woman Deborah! She is young and super experienced! She knows her food flavouring very well 👌! Everything about this restaurant it’s extraordinary: great decor,views,food,service,company! Dear Riki and Deborah you are the best ! The story to be continued the second night we went again to see our dearest Deborah & Riki ! They surprised us with amazing new dishes. Delicious, well prepared and presented by amazing chef 👩🍳 Deborah ! Please go and try this amazing restaurant, it’s an absolutely gorgeous 5 ⭐️.
A Hidden Gem in Osteno - Osteria de Cin Our family discovered the Osteria de Cin during our holiday, turning our stay in Osteno into a delightful culinary journey. This enchanting restaurant charmed us with its captivating ambience, exceptional hospitality, and masterful cuisine. Our host, who effortlessly doubled as our waiter, enriched our experience with his endearing storytelling about the establishment, painting a vibrant backdrop that perfectly set the tone for our evening. His in-depth knowledge of food and drink was particularly commendable. Upon discovering our love for wines, he recommended an exquisite Italian wine - the 2015 Rosso Di Marco by Marco Conati. It was an impeccable pairing that wonderfully complemented our dishes, enhancing the dining experience manifold. At the helm of the kitchen, a remarkably talented chef crafted a menu that was nothing short of culinary poetry. From the Smoked Beef Carpaccio with truffles and wild berries to the Salmon Tartare with Stracciatella and Avocado, each dish was a symphony of flavours that tantalised our palates. The Steak of Dry-Aged Beef deserves a special mention for its masterful execution and depth of flavour. Dessert was the grand finale, with each creation hitting the right sweet notes. The standout was the Shortcrust Pastry with Custard and Berries, a decadent treat that masterfully balanced sweetness and tartness. The restaurant's family-friendly ambiance added to our delightful experience. Each member of our family, from the youngest to the oldest, felt welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed their time. Absolutely delicious food, every course was amazing as well as the complimentary homemade focaccia. Large cocktails as well. We visited on accident during the world finals in football, so we were the only people there. Staff was super nice and friendly, prices are very fair for what you get. Highly recommend!
This restaurant was truly a delight. The food was amazing and so fresh. I loved every dish I ordered, the ingredients were perfectly cooked and the fruit was so sweet and delicious. Our waiter was a friendly and very attentive. The entire staff was warm and welcoming. The prices were fair and well worth the quality and size! I wish I wasn't a tourist so I could come back! This was a great place to end my last night in Italy. Also a few things to mention, it had a beautiful view, parking spots in front of the restaurant, the waiter spoke English, and the menus had English as well. A hidden gem and truly deserving of 5 stars 🤩 In case anyone is interested I ordered the Tagliatelle fatte in casa al tartufo, Trancio di salmone, and Dolcezza al bicchiere.
A dining experience perfect in every way. The couple who have opened this place at what turned out to be the start of the pandemic have hung in there and poured their incredible passion into every aspect of it. The food was impeccable; interesting, perfectly cooked, and wonderfully presented, while the service was friendly, engaging, and just right. It is a in a small village at the end of a winding road and worth any effort you make in getting there....
Excellent, carefully prepared and well presented food with fresh, high quality ingredients. Modern cuisine. Varied yet focused menu. Pleasant, welcoming ambience. Friendly, attentive service. Well-behaved (I.e. restaurant-trained) dogs allowed. Overall a very positive experience in an old-town setting.
★★★☆☆ Modern Italian nouvelle cuisine, dishes are reimagined and deconstructed, with a nice presentation. Some ideas work, others feel more conceptual than satisfying. Service is excellent: friendly, and professional. Overall, a creative dining experience may be worth trying once, especially if you enjoy culinary experimentation over tradition. Portions are small keeping with nouvelle cuisine standards .
Came for dinner 03.09.24 The place is very cute and cozy. The staff is very nice and attentive. It seems as if they only have the highest quality ingredients. It pains me a little to say that the flavor was a bit underwhelming. Food pairings were quite good, but lack of salt and seasoning held back almost everything we had. The octopus main was perfectly cooked. Like really perfectly cooked- anyone that knows octopus knows the margin for error is very small if you wish for a perfect texture. They absolutely crushed it. Again here carrot puree was low on flavor and dragged the dish down. The daily dessert if I remember correctly was a pear and cognac pie/ pastry . The filling was very good, but the crust/ base was amateurish on a good day. Creme brulee was very well done and quite flavorful. By upscale dining I consider quality, service, atmosphere, food pairings and ultimately flavor.(Presentation is not so important) 3/5 But would give it a shot next season when we are back in Osteno
