This place is my favorite when craving Indian cuisine. We had an amazing dining experience as usual. The food was authentic and bursting with rich, vibrant flavors—each dish was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The service was top-notch specially being last minute customers, with staff who were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Their virgin drinks were refreshing and beautifully crafted, making a great pairing with the meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a lovely mix of modern décor and a cozy, relaxed vibe. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious Indian cuisine! Thank you, will see you soon.

Really delicious Indian and the heart of Durham! We really like the mango lassi, the butter, chicken, and usually go for mild or medium. We also love getting the basmati rice and garlic naan. Sometimes we get it to go, and I would write that about a 3.5 to 4 just because the rice and non-are not fresh, but the chicken is still great! I also think that the Ambience could use a little work, but overall still five stars for me given the quality of food and the kindness of the service.

The best Indian food I’ve had in many years! Definitely in the top 2. My daughter who lives locally told me it was her favorite Indian restaurant and orders regularly for takeout. Dining in was quite an experience. The vibe was upbeat and though it was crowed both inside and outside, we were seated in about 5 mins. Our waiters Anand & Kevin were excellent in their service and charm. Attentive, pleasant and professional. The food was over the top fantastic! The mixed tandoori platter was just amazing and was enough for 2 people. All of our meals were filled with all the spices expected and was fresh with great quality. We ate a lot! Couldn’t get enough. The rasmalai melted in your mouth and the drinks were delicious! I truly understand why this is my daughter’s favorite restaurant. I’m sorry they are so far away but I’ll be there on my first night when back in NC. A must visit for the best Indian food ever!

We stopped in for the Sunday buffet and were instantly impressed. From the friendly greeting at the door to the amazing smell of the food, we knew we were in for a treat. We ordered a green appletini mocktail and were complementary brought two wonderfully crafted drinks. The buffet provided a diverse opportunity try all the amazing options. The food is delicious and has us eager to come back. Service was fast, friendly, and topnotch. The atmosphere was delightful and very family-friendly. We will definitely be back best time we are in town. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

We travel twice a year from Myrtle Beach to Durham for medical visits to Duke. I always take advantage of the ethnic culinary options in the area, but last night I was so surprised by my unexpected experience at this restaurant. I am no stranger to Indian cuisine, but this was by far the BEST dining experience with Indian cuisine I have ever had. We had the the lemon pepper cauliflower and the green curry leaf chicken appetizers to start. Our main courses were goat korma and lamb Rogan Josh along with a side order of the vegetable samosas. Don't ask me to single out my favorite dish, because every bite of each dish just kept getting better. It was a meal with so many beautiful and delicate layers of flavors and spices. Our server, Kevin, was such a kind hearted soul. He was the other half of this experience that made this such a joy. You could see the pride and excitement on his face that we were so pleased and enjoying our dining experience. If you're a drinker you absolutely must have their Indian Mule cocktail. I could have had too many of those very easily. Gosh, what a beautifully crafted drink! I told Kevin to pick the best Indian Whiskey for me for an after meal cordial and he did not disappoint. We will be coming back to Durham in just a few short weeks, but not for Duke... We are coming for the only purpose to eat at this establishment again. Upscale restaurant with delicious Indian selections. Attentive, friendly service. The chicken korma and firecracker chicken were delicious and satisfied my craving. The purple viking drink was perfectly sweet and refreshing. Definitely recommend checking this place out😎

All of my favorite Indian dishes in one place!! I decided to try Lime and Lemon for my self care Friday, and it did not disappoint. My waiter Anand was amazing and he was very thorough with offering recommendations and options. I ordered a spicy mushroom appetizer, the avocado and cheese dosa and goat Chittinad. They were all cooked to perfection. I’m used to the masala dosa, but this was an interesting twist that kind of reminded me of me of a quesadilla. They had paratha bread that is cooked to perfection. It was nice having the option of multiple regions of India in one place. Will definitely come back for another self-care day. Also, the food is fairly affordable. I was expecting to pay more for the amount of food I received.

Ashay the bartender made amazing cocktails and we finished our evening with a flaming Lamborghini that you must try. Our waiter Anand was so kind went out of his way to serve us. The food was soooo good. It is now my favorite restaurant and I plan to go back again this week. Go try You will not be disappointed. Make a reservation as the place was filled.

Had a great time eating new things at Lime and Lemon. Amand helped me pick a new dish from my normal tikka Marsala. Yum!

Updated 2025: The lunch buffet is back. Delicious options IMO. Visited for Thanks giving and tried Turkey biriyani. Very delicious and excellent service. This is the all-time place to be! No wait to get in! Very well thought and decorated with great Ambience. Like lime and lemon , the decorations including chairs are Green and Yellow shades. The Indian food especially dosa's with Village Chicken Curry are the fresh and authentic around. They have the bar and the cocktails are divine and the staff are so welcoming. I really doubt you'll find a better Indian restaurants in Durham downtown area . Also worth mentioning again is the really open and inviting vibe the interior manages to portray.

Lime and Lemon is one of my favorite places for a nice dinner. The service is always great and your drinks are always full. The food is delicious and there are plenty of great dishes to choose from.

Amazing food & people! We tried their catering tasting menu and the food was delicious and authentic. Napoleon gave us great recommendations and a huge variety of dishes to taste for a very reasonable tasting fee. He answered all of our questions and also took into consideration any of our personal preferences. We’re excited to work with Lime & Lemon for our event. Definitely must try their chukka, biryani and paneer shaam savera dishes! We absolutely loved both mango and malai kulfi and couldn’t pick our favorite. Best Indian food in NC! ☺️

What a wonderful Christmas lunch our family had today! I think this will be a new tradition. The five of us enjoyed our delicious appetizers and entrees. Our drinks were amazing, almost too pretty to drink. The naan was exceptional. So was our waiter, Anand, and the rest of the staff. We will return very soon!

Wonderful Indian restaurant in Durham. Prompt and friendly service. The menu is absolutely huge and we are not familiar with some of the dishes. The waiter took time to explain them to us. Everything was delicious with large portions. We shared the main entree because we were only in Durham one night in a hotel, and couldn't take leftovers home. Definitely recommend!

Delicious food & really great service for lunch. The lunch special is only $14 for a large amount of food leaving some left over. I highly recommend the chicken lunch combo & the server Ashay! Made me & my coworkers celebratory work lunch enjoyable!

Food came out extremely fast, and was delicious. I got the salmon tikka masala, and was pleasantly surprised that i got seemingly two filets of salmon. Service was great, staff was kind and attentive, I like that they asked for spice level and gave reccomendations. Place is reasonably priced for the quality of the food, more casual environment. 5 star review is mainly because of the prices

Morris was a lovely server. He was quick and made sure we had everything just right. The food was, *🤌🏿* as always!! My mom's first time trying Indian cuisine and she loved it. Drinks were taaaasty! Love coming here and can't wait to come back!!

One of the best restaurants in Durham! My husband has a severe nut allergy, lime and lemon has been very accommodating and clear on allergens. We’ve eaten here multiple times, and the food is always incredible (and allergen free). Chana masala, tiki masala, and butter chicken are great!

We chose Lime and Lemon for a family birthday dinner, and it was delicious! Service was wonderful. We had samosas and pani puri, and a variety of dishes for our meal. They have lots of good vegetarian an vegan options!

We come to Lime and Lemon every time we're in town. They have delicious food and excellent service! Orrin was our server this latest time and he was great and attentive. They have excellent variety and everything tastes authentic. It's been great every time for us.

The Durham Lime and Lemon is a special place for my wife and me. The ambience is both cozy and lively, and the dishes are truly unique. Every ingredient is fresh and we’ve always had a 5-star experience. We’ve been coming here for years and every time, we’re privileged to have superior customer service by Anand. He has a way of making every customer feel like a VIP. He’s a detail-oriented person and remembers our favorite food and drinks, even if we don’t show up for months. Additionally, Anand has provided excellent entree/drink suggestions for us and thanks to his expertise, we’ve enjoyed many new things. One example is his recommendation to try the Gutti Vankaya Kura (medium spice). We order this as one of our entrees every time we come here now! A second example is his recommendation of Lime and Lemon’s Mumbai Mules. For those who are looking for a truly good mocktail, their virgin Mumbai Mule is worth a try.

I visited Lime and Lemon Indian Grill and Bar on Thursday evening for dinner, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and full of authentic flavors. Prathyusha, suggested a few dishes, and every recommendation was absolutely perfect. The flavors, presentation, and portion sizes were spot on. The drinks were amazing as well—well balanced and refreshing. Overall, great food, great drinks, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

We had Prathyusha as our server for a night out in Durham. She was beyond excellent- we all felt so attended to, and her warmth and demeanor made our entire experience incredible and welcoming! The food was also exquisite and left us feeling full and comforted on such a cold evening. 10/10! So so fantastic - highly recommend!

This was my second time visiting Lime & Lemon in Durham. I loved the food and atmosphere on my first visit, so I brought my friends along on Friday—and once again, it was a great experience. The host was friendly, sweet, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server, Morris, took excellent care of us, staying attentive and polite throughout the meal. The food was delicious, and the service from the entire team made the visit even better. We will Visit again & again . Overall, this restaurant offers wonderful hospitality and truly knows how to make guests feel comfortable. The host didn’t mention her name, but she made sure to give credit to Morris, which we really appreciated. All the Best Team.

We had a fantastic dinner at Lime & Lemon! The food was incredible—the Gobi Manchurian was perfectly crispy, and both the Dal Makhni and Malai Kofta were rich, creamy, and authentic. The Chicken Combo was also a highlight, featuring tender and well-marinated meat. What truly made the night special was the service. A huge thank you to Anand and the team for being so attentive and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Lime and Lemon is my go-to in Durham. Their food is amazing. My favorite is the Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani with the Butter Chicken and Mango Lime Chicken as close runners-up. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. The service is outstanding- Anand was our server this afternoon and took exemplary care of us. Highly recommend.

My kids and I stopped in for lunch on a weekday. The service was lovely and the atmosphere inviting. Edwin took care of us during our meal and was very patient and gracious. The children and I enjoyed our food immensely - delicious and beautiful. The servings were very generous and we loved trying tastes of each other’s meals. Edwin positively spoiled the kids and we all are looking forward to coming back for more.

Anand truly took such good care of us. Tired after a long road trip, we were not expecting anything over the top — but he ended up making the experience so great. The food is fantastic and the drinks (cocktails specifically) are toooo good! Highly recommend, and ask Anand to take care of you!

It's amazing every time (25ish times total). Every time I walk in the door I think to myself, "Will it be as good as it is nastalgically in my head?" And every single time I'm astonished by how good of an experience it is. Lime & Lemon is the reason Indian food is my favorite type of food on the planet. So much so that every time I travel to a new city, I try their best Indian restaurant. And rarely do I find something in the same ballpark as L&L. Everytime Anand is our waitor, he goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. 3 Personal favorites: Gobi Manchurian, any Dosa + Sombar, Garlic Naan + any chutney

We drive from Garner to Durham almost every weekend just for their buffet — that’s how good it is! The menu is never repetitive; they introduce new items often, keeping the experience exciting and fresh. Great balance of veg and non-veg starters, flavorful curries, rice varieties, desserts, welcome drink and tea — plus surprise festival specials that make the visit feel unique every time. Taste, quality, and price are unmatched in the RTP area. A special shout-out to Anand, whose warm welcome, attentive service, and friendly personality truly make us feel at home. He remembers us, checks on us often, and elevates the entire dining experience. This place is a must-try for weekend buffet lovers — you won’t be disappointed! 😍🍽✨

Great spot and outstanding service! We had such a great time here! Our server Edwin T was incredible: he was super friendly, attentive, and even brought us extra appetizers (might even be my favorite dish). The food was bursting with bold, homemade flavors and just the right spice. You can really taste the quality! The atmosphere felt warm and lively (maybe a bit bright in color, but fun). Overall, amazing food, fantastic service, and great value. Can’t wait to come back!

Found this spot in Durham on 9th street near Duke’s East Campus. It was not very busy for a Sunday evening and we were seated quickly. The restaurant is large, bright and roomy. The air conditioning wasn’t working so the air inside the restaurant felt warm and heavy on food odor. But again, that was probably just because of the a/c situation. The service was good but not exceptional. No real complaints though. The menu had too many items on it, spanning the breadth of the country. We placed the drinks and food order and it all came out quickly. The food was piping hot and reasonably good. Serving sizes were huge. After dinner we got the Kulfi for desserts. Again it was well presented, and taste was ok. Overall a decent experience.

The service was excellent, but in my opinion, the food wasn’t the best. It was so spicy that it was almost impossible to enjoy. We had chicken and beef, but the beef was too fatty, so I wouldn’t order those dishes again. The naan was great, though, and they gave us extra rice. Yellow seats are not comfortable. They have good deals lunch time.

We have dined at Lime & Lemon Durham more than 20 times over the past few years and usually tip 15–18%. My child attends NCSSM, which is one of the reasons we visit often. Until now, the staff has always been courteous with excellent service. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience during our last visit. Lime & Lemon Durham offers a discount when you show your NCSSM/Duke ID card. When I mentioned that my son attends NCSSM, the server asked, “What exactly did he eat?”—which was confusing. He then explained that the discount could apply only to my son’s individual item and went on to narrate a story about another family whose discount had upset the owner. In a family dining setting, food is typically shared. Asking a customer to justify which specific dish a student ate is awkward and, frankly, offensive. If the policy is meant to apply only to the student’s individual meal, that is completely understandable—but then the policy should be clearly stated upfront, limited to student-only dining, or capped in family settings, rather than handled through uncomfortable questioning at the table. This experience left a bad impression. With many dining options in the Triangle, I am not sure we will return. I wanted to share this so other NCSSM and Duke families are aware and can avoid a similar situation. I am leaving this review because I found the question “What exactly did he eat?” offensive. This is not about the < $6 discount. Anyway I refused the discount and paid in full.
