Short-handed wait staff for lunch 9/12/25. Only 2 for quite a sizable amount of people. We waited over an hour to order. Got our lunch around 3. Reservation was for 1:30.
I have to say, I left a bad review last year and took it off this site because Snapper Inn has redeemed themselves. The Thursday night prime rib special was outstanding!!! Such a delicious, fresh and plentiful meal. The service was extremely on point. Devon was our server and he was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the entire menu. Also a shout out to their front desk host (didn't get his name) but he continually walked around the dining room to all tables asking if we were enjoying the meal etc.....such an important part of the entire satisfying experience. Snapper Inn is the place to go for great food, great service and great ambiance!!!
We had our wedding at the Snapper Inn in September, and I can’t say enough good things about them. The food was amazing, the staff was so professional, and everyone went above and beyond to make it a perfect night. Josh was our coordinator and he was incredible, he made sure the pavilion was beautiful, and executed everything perfectly start to finish. He scheduled the night, and the flow of the reception was just perfect. It was really a wonderful experience, so beautiful, and so much fun. Really can’t recommend them enough!
I officiated a wedding there. The food, the outdoor event space, and the staff, were excellent.
Food, service and atmosphere were all awesome. Great prices as well.
My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner everything was wonderful and delicious views were great our waitress Sue was awesome in fact all the staff was great. Can't wait to go back
We went to Winterfest on Sat Feb 22. What a blast!!! There was good food, good music and lovely people all around!!! Kudos to Jim and his staff for making this a new tradition! Can’t wait till next year, so we aren’t. Planning our next trip to The Snapper Inn as soon as possible!!
We hadn’t been here in a while and our entire party was happy we came back. Both courses were delicious and the service was great. I love that they have the “turn any salad into a wrap” option. Such a simple thing that makes a salad so much better and feel much more like a meal. This vegetarian was happy and my family all enjoyed a few seafood options and steak appetizer.
Classic waterfront bar with outstanding lunch and happy hour menus. We had a late lunch of flounder sandwich along with lots of Oyster Week oysters. Oysters were all locally harvested and were super fresh. Fish sandwich was superb. Bartenders were working their butts off with the big happy hour crowd, keeping everyone fed, quenched, and happy.
I had my daughter's bridal shower there on April 20th. From the first moment I walked in, Patty was a tremendous help. She was warm, friendly and confident in answering all of my questions. The staff was excellent, attending to all of our guests needs. The food was delicious- everyone raved about it. I would highly recommend The Snapper Inn.
Great food and amazing service. I brought my family here for dinner and everyone had the most wonderful time. From the moment we walked in the staff was attentive and helpful. The manager was amazing, he was so welcoming and friendly. They accommodated our group of 8 and we wanted for nothing. The Filet is scrumptious and I highly recommend adding the lobster tail when ordering it. My wife loved the salmon. Far too many restaurants forget about the customer experience, not the Snapper inn. They think of everything even before you can think about it. I cannot wait to return.
My family & I Recently visited this beautiful establishment, I won a Dinner for six people, at a golf outing. The Snapper donated a very generous gift to the Great River Fire Department @ The Timber point country club, they take great pride in their community. Dinner was soup to nuts, we were very impressed. Kyle our server was excellent, food was delicious, views of the river so beautiful. I highly recommend this establishment. Thank you for your hospitality! We had a great family night, we will be back. Rosemary Cronin
It was a Wonderful evening with my wife. She was very Happy with service and food! Life is Good Keep Smiling 😁!!!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! We just had a large Jack & Jill Bridal Shower at the Snapper Inn and we could not be happier with the venue, the setup, the food and most importantly the service. The view from the room is incredible, and the setup was comfortable for all aspects of the evening. Kerry and Josh were amazing as hosts, including the accommodation of the a few special food requests, plus their communication with us throughout the night was terrific and on point. The food was fantastic, with the Penne ala Vodka being commented on by most of the attendees as the best they ever had! Special kudos to service team of Stephen, Michael and Emily, as this was by far the best service I've experienced in an incredibly long time (pretty close to ever). Their ability to be extremely attentive to all of the drink needs of our guests, to their ability to remain inconspicuous while clearing table items, presenting desert and coffee, and their incredible awesomeness for helping make this a spectacular event for our daughter and fiancée. These three young people will have great success in their lives if they continue just being themselves as they performed last night. Thank you again Snapper Inn, we greatly appreciate you!
Went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Very nice dinner in their private room. Great service. Everything was very tasty!
Ill tell you 5 yrs. Ago after covid I had one of the worst experiences here.last thurs. We returned and it was an awesome meal and experience. Although I think there about $10.00 over priced for there dishes
Our Waitress, Emma was phenomenal, sweet, caring, bubbly personality. Ask for her when you go here, you'll have the best experience of your life. The food is absolutely spectacular. Everything we had was amazing from appetizers, entrees to dessert. Absolutely fabulous.
Dined at the Bar. Service was great! She was very attentive and engaging ! Fresh Fluke with mashed and asparagus was delicious. Wife had mussels appetizer, was good also. Happy hour on drinks keeps the bill in check . Great time , we will be back
To the ownership of the Snapper Inn. I booked an outdoor party several months ago and I would like to go over all of my complaints! Wait? I do not have one single complaint. Not one. Since my first phone call to Josh and follow up calls with Kerry and Patty. Every annoying question was answered with a professionalism and kindness that you rarely ever see anymore. I showed up a day before by boat and both transient slips were taken. I went inside and ask if there is anything that could be done for me. Kerry and Karen jumped into action. They even called some to the residents to see if I can go in there slip. They both went out of there way to help me. I got a slip and I was extremely happy. The day of the party all you staff was there setting up and Kerry was out there assisting us. I was not expecting her to be up on chairs hanging Decorations with us. By the way, I also saw her doing the same for the next party after ours. Now let's talk about the other staff that assisted During the party. I'm sorry, but I will try to steal Taylor from you. What an employee! She was amazing. She worked hard; she worked smart, and most of all she was so friendly and happy. She made the experience there even more enjoyable. She was also great With my grandchildren. Please let her know how much we appreciate her. Jillian, Kyle, and Ricky (I hope I didn't forget anyone) Thank you, Thank you! Every one of you worked so hard, and I can tell that you all cared. Today it is very to find staff and even harder to find a team that is experienced and willing to go the extra mile like all of you. Lastly I need to say the food was delishish, OMG, the paella was over the top. As the food ran low it was immediately replaced. The views were absolutely amazing. Every one of my guests has not stopped talking about the views and atmosphere. Simply put it was a perfect 10-star event. Thank you once more and we can't wait to come back again. The Corrado’s. Our meal was delicious. Nice atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and helpful.
The Herricks Class of 1983 Reunion was perfect!!! The planning help, the intimate atmosphere, the food, the service… can’t thank The Snapper Inn enough. The messages going back and forth the day after our event were nothing but praise saying the Inn was perfect, awesome, and delicious with so much food, and our cake was stunning! The help couldn’t do enough! L 💗 V E The Snapper Inn! Thank you so much Kerry, Josh & Patti for going above and beyond for us! Hope to get back there again soon!😘🙏👍
Everything was perfect. Food was delicious service was great and the setting is phenomenal.
My husband. & I enjoyed the best Fra Diablo dish we have ever had .. we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of Seaford in the dish especially the amount of scallops & the wait staff was fantastic .. can’t wait to go back again
Had a wonderful dinner last evening and enjoyed the Prime Rib special. Kudos to Jack our server who was terrific as well as the whole staff who took care of our table. Will be back soon.
Not a large menu but the food was excellent. Sat outside by the water in the shade. Our waiter was great. Had a wonderful afternoon lunch.
A hidden gem! The Snapper Inn is a beautiful waterfront dining establishment. A great place for a staycation lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and you are greeted with a smile. The shrimp taco was delicious. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the outdoor dining is spacious.
We held my sister's baby shower at Snapper Inn on March 10 and it was an amazing time. The staff were so helpful, kind, attentive, and accommodating. The food was delicious, possibly the best penne alla vodka I've ever had. We had a beautiful view of the water, as well. Everyone had a great time, I definitely recommend and would absolutely use this venue again. Thanks so much for everything!
Went here for a private party and it had been awhile since I dined here. The Snapper Inn continues to provide very tasty menu options, superior service and a nice atmosphere. The penne, chicken, stuffed clams, steak, salad and paella were all very tasty. The staff was very friendly and attentive to all of the guests' needs. The atmosphere offers the waterside setting that is both appealing and tranquil. Snapper Inn is a must try.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would! We had an unforgettable evening at Snapper Inn, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible waiter, Zach F-R. Simply put—Zach was beyond amazing. He is, without a doubt, the best waiter we've ever had at ANY restaurant. Attentive, warm, professional, and genuinely kind—he made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. The timing of our meal was perfect—everything came out at just the right pace, allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. The wine was excellent and beautifully paired with our meals. And speaking of meals—Prime Rib Night was out of this world! Cooked to perfection, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying. We also want to recognize the wonderful hostess who welcomed us so warmly, and the busboy/assistant who was incredibly polite and attentive throughout the evening. Every member of the staff contributed to the exceptional service. To top it all off, we were treated to a gorgeous fireworks display during dinner, which made the night feel even more special. I highly recommend the Snapper Inn for a relaxing, delicious, and memorable dining experience. A heartfelt thank you to Zach and the entire team—you truly made our night one to remember!
Absolutely loved it. I was taken there for a birthday dinner and every expectation I had was met. A happy greeting upon arrival....a beautiful place inside and out....great water views... prompt service...and a delicious meal ( I had the red snapper)....and the best waiter I've ever had (Jimmy) who was knowledgeable...super friendly... constantly checked up on us...and just a super easy to get along with guy. My hats off to The snapper inn. You've made a new fan!!
Nice view of the bay with boats coming and going. All of the food we had was delicious. I had the snapper special, which was one of the best cooked pieces of fish I've had in a restaurant. My wife had the shrimp and scallop scampi. Also very good. Only negative is the intrusive music from the country club next door.
Our first time here, it was for our 25th Anniversary. Great atmosphere, and decor, sat by a window overlooking the bay. Food and cocktails were fantastic, great menu choices. Our server, Caroline, was the BEST, so friendly, and attentive, and Sweet too! We will definitely be returning to this gem of a restaurant.
Food, Service, Atmosphere were all top notch. While the taste of the food here is something I enjoy the main course portions can be a bit bigger.. Still recommendable
I've been going to the Snapper Inn since my teen years and I'm now a Senior Citizen. Although they've redone the entire restaurant, it's always been beautiful. The food has always been delicious and the service has always been fantastic.
Went 8/24/25 for my mom Birthday and we had 11 people and from the moment we walked In to the moment we walked out, the staff and service was amazing. Food was killer and Jim the manager was a delight. We will be back and give this venue 10 stars.
A 5 star everything! We came here on a Thursday night for happy hour. We were at the outside bar which was hopping. The bar tender took care of us immediately, and we were able to sit at a table on the deck. Food was fresh and tasty. We plan on going back next Thursday. Definitely recommend going to the Snapper!
My Thanksgiving day dinner at the Snapper Inn was as always an excellent experience. The staff was very welcoming from the front hostess to the table. My prime rib was served rare as I had ordered. The chocolate mouse was delightful. I will be going back for another dinner very soon
Along with my wife and daughter we came for restaurant week. The service our waitress Carolyn was funny, spectacular. Dirty goose martini perfect. I had sauerbraten My wife had Queen cut prime rib and my daughter had the broiled fish platter. All meals were spectacular. Very friendly place. The gentleman who sat us. I'm assuming he was the manager or major. D was very kind called us by our last name. Got us a great seat by the window. Just an overall spectacular experience. We will be back
Friend and I went for lunch. Michael was our server. He had a great sense of humor. We ordered the lunch special, shrimp and scallop over linguine. Very good. Also ordered dessert. Caramel apple tart, can the flourless chocolate cake , delicious. Can't wait to go back. Well worth the price. Also they had the oldies playing in the background. So overall it was a very day.
I’ve been here a few times for parties during brunch and loved it! Decided to give it a try for dinner and was not disappointed. Service and food were both great! I know the specialty here is seafood, but the Asian filet mignon tips were one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had! Highly recommend!
Hadn't been here in a number of years as we don't live nearby. Our host Jim was excellent as was our server Andrew. Started with the oysters Rockefeller - Delish. I had the cod special and hubby had the filet high mignon with mash. All wonderful! Too bad we don't live closer.
PERFECTION. ,, A tough thing to to achieve....and yet that's what the awesome Staff at Snapper Inn Kerry the GM , and Josh Catering Manager, along with their dedicated staff did for my son Beau and wife Alyssa,s weddings around few weeks ago! The Snapper Inn was welcoming ,treated us like Family, and attentive the entire duration of the wedding. Our guests raved about the riverside location, the magnificent food and really yummy cocktails! The staff was attentive, thoughtful and professional ! From the moment the kids booked the wedding in the pavillion to the end of their fun filled event... Perfection....Thank You with love from the Johnson Family..... Every bride and Groom should consider this venue ! Inside. Beautiful warm and cozy for your winter event yet open and airy in the summer months for your wedding...A family owned restaurant since 1929....no wedding mill here people....You are family the minute you walk thru their doors...
It was my first time dining here after years of hearing their commercial jingle. We were greeted by a lovely hostess for a late lunch. The food and service was excellent. Anna was our waitress, and we had another Anna assisting as well. Both were very pleasant. The baked clams and the mussels as starters were exceptionally delicious. The blackened fluke was very tasty and fresh, and the short rib burger was sooo good. It was tender and juicy, kind you crave. I definitely recommend it, and look forward to returning.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing celebrations here, and it never disappoints. The waterfront ceremony space, framed by boats and golden light, creates a stunning backdrop for heartfelt moments. The staff ensures everything runs seamlessly, and the property’s architecture pairs beautifully with its lush green lawn and sparkling water views. From the gentle breeze off the water during vows, every corner of this venue photographs beautifully. If you’re looking for a venue that’s both romantic and relaxed, The Snapper Inn is a perfect fit.
My daughter and son in-law were married here in May. It was a beautiful day. The ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was exceptional. Josh was the best. He made sure everything was taken care of. Guests are still talking about how the food was delicious and it was the best wedding they attended.
Great place for our small family events. We held my grandma's 90th and my daughter's baptism parties in the same room (Connetquot room) and it was the perfect space for our size family 30-40 people. Food was great and affordable. Location is stunning on the water (good for photo opportunities) and service was outstanding.
I can't say enough good things about The Snapper Inn! The service was excellent, and the beautiful ocean views were the perfect backdrop for our meal. The food was incredible! We feasted on the most delicious fried calamari, fresh mussels, and amazing lobster rolls. A truly perfect spot for a great dinner.
I had my wedding at the Snapper Inn September 14th 2024 and this place was absolutely amazing. From the start Josh was so accommodating in making sure everything was done right! They go above and beyond to make your day special and not have to worry about a single thing. The food was great and the view was outstanding. My Father decided to surprise us with the raw bar option during the cocktail hour and it was so worth it! A perfect sunset while guest are eating clams oysters and shrimp was a hit. I wish I could do it all over again and would not even think twice about having Snapper Inn for my venue. It was beyond perfect I truly cannot find anything I could complain about. Thank you Josh and everyone at Snapper Inn for making our wedding day perfect!
Good food, great atmosphere and view. OK service. A bit understaffed outside in my opinion. Would recomend for the view itself, everything else is a bonus. Food is always consistently good
The food was very good, the view was very nice, and the atmosphere was a little stiff, but not necessarily in a bad way...
It was great. However the electric went out after appetizers. So, we didn’t get to eat dinner.
There are too few good seafood restaurants on Long Island. This one really stands out. Food, service, atmosphere all add up to a great place to eat. Had a broiled seafood platter at lunch, and it was served perfectly cooked. Too often places overcook their seafood. Here they respect that a minute too much can ruin a dish. Kudos!
Went to the Snapper Inn for lunch on a Saturday fir the great river views and atmosphere. The burger and sweet potato fries were great but the corned beef ruben sandwich was very greasy. Would not recommend the ruben sandwich. Great overall experience even though the ruben sandwich was not good.
Went for happy hour, Steven was the bartender, he was excellent!! Very nice and the drinks were on point!! We will definitely return!
Four or us went there to sample their Wednesday specials, the place is beautiful, the staff are excellent, my wife had salmon which was great, the rest had the seafood pasta which was unacceptable, apparently nobody tasted it before serving. We are not ones to complain we ate some and left, removing this off our restaurant list.
Snapper Inn is one of my favorite restaurants. It has a lovely view of the Connetquot River. However, I wasn't as pleased with the food this time as I was the last time I was there. I will return some day!
Appetizers and drinks were great. I had the prime rib -medium. It was more towards rare than medium. My boyfriend had the chicken parm and he loved it. The atmosphere was cozy and had beautiful Christmas decorations Our favorite qas the upside-down Christmas tree.
We were very disappointed in our appetizers. Baked clams need a clam texture and this was one texture(soft) with no clam taste as well. Baked oysters with some kinda mango relish also bad. Over cooked small shriveled up oyster. Raw is definitely best choice. Our main course was good, as was desert. For the money we pay for a well known restaurant that I usually enjoy 100%was well below that last night. 🤷
My wife and I have been here a few times and have high expectations based on our experiences here. Our last was very disappointing. We waited at least a half hour for our appetizers to come, and then another half hour for our dinner to come. It was a busy Friday night, and were told the kitchen was backed up. At some point, we felt our server gave up on trying to appease us. We were very patient and respectful, but waiting that long makes for a bad experience. On top of that, I waited an extremely long time for a drink, but I guess the bar was backed up too. Beautiful environment and location, but we will be sure to come back on a weekday.
Very slow service. Wedge salad was a winner. Seafood over pasta special was way too spicy. Broiled fish was adequate. For the prices they charge the service should match.
A bit disappointed for the service Rush cleanup even still eating ! Old coffee ... And I came far away for Oysters but they gave me some too small some too big.....no quality this time. When I asked waitress ,she laughed And said please come back next time....so why don't u bring food back to kitchen and fixed....
Nice view, decor and ambiance. Very loud music from the adjasent room - at least two different parties - Saturday lunch. Slow servise, menues given right away but server came in 10 minutes to take drinks order, and another 10 for the main order. Seafood chowder was overcooked and not buttery enough, chowder was ok. We ordered scampied mahi mahi as one of the fish of the day, ot was fresh, but lacked a garlic, and veggies were diner quality, same for the pilaf. Cheescake had a mushy crust, not crunchy one. I would probably do not care if I will be a guest enjoying a party, but I was there for food, and it was three stars. Im glad I did not bring my friends with me.
I went to lunch at Snapper Inn today with a friend and had a very disappointing experience. We waited over 90 minutes and never received our food. The young waitress was kind and apologetic, as well as the hostess who offered us a lunch voucher to make up for the delay. However, the manager’s behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the situation when my friend was expressing our frustration, he dismissed it by saying “it’s just lunch.” This also happens as we were exiting the restaurant since he didn't bother to come to our table to speak with us directly. Mistakes happen, and we were patient, but the way the manager handled the situation was completely unacceptable. It’s unfortunate, because the setting is beautiful and the staff (aside from management) was trying their best.
Waitstaff is young and inexperienced, they have very little knowledge about the menu and it’s hard to get their attention. We came for brunch the first time and the service was excellent, prix-fix menu so there was no reason to ask the staff questions. The second time we came for dinner the wait time was horrible, and the restaurant wasn’t nearly busy enough to justify it. 20 minutes to take our order and another 45 minutes for any apps to come out. Total amount of time spent at the restaurant 2.5 hours. Did not stay for the dessert which did not look promising. Food for the most part was overcooked and served in huge proportions. Stale bread served in the beginning. Lobster was overcooked both in the seafood pot and a la carte. The duck was ok but came with too little sauce. The fish was drowned in an overpowering sauce. The proportions are made for 3 people. Overall the ambiance does not match the food or service.
Came here for Thanksgiving yesterday. For the money they charged for a pre-fixed thanksgiving dinner, they have some nerve. First off, they ran out of Diet Coke. Whatever, not the end of the world. I started with the seafood bisque. The soup was cold, had that matte film over it like it was sitting out, and not one piece of seafood except for 1 lonely, pathetic mushy shrimp. To add, the soup was so salty, it was as if they added some the bay water to it. The Cesar salad was underwhelming with wilted overdressed lettuce and mushy croutons. I had the filet mignon, which was decent. Lastly I had the chocolate mousse for dessert. We had to wait 30 min to get it because desserts were “backed up”. I certainly do not mind paying $80+ dollars per person, but this was definitely taking advantage because it was a holiday. What they served was not good and not worth that kind of money. We could have went anywhere, and we chose Snapper Inn because of their positive reviews, but, I’d never come back here again.
I have ate here numerous times and last night they were not up to par. I went with my family because it was restaurant week. Got seated around 6 ordered drinks right away but took about 15/20 minutes to come out (common reason for the low rating) then took our order (all items ordered at the same time) apps came out at a normal expected wait time. After they cleaned the apps it took at least another half hour for the food to come. My prime rib was great! Perfectly cooked good flavor however the mash potatoes it came with was cold. I feel it was in the walk in too long and just the top got warm probably because the food took so long to come out so it was under the heater. The broccoli was not hot either. After we finished dinner our desert took so long to come out I had to go up to the Maitre d to let him know its been longer than a half hour and still no dessert. He told me he will get working on it right away. Which he did it came out about 5-10 minutes later. Other tables that sat after us got there dessert before us. Just a really long experience overall. From start to finish over 3 hours! There was 0 compensation for the delay in the service. They did not have someone walking around with water so glasses were not filled except when I had to ask the waitress that was barely there at all. I know they can perform better than this as this was the only time that I had this problem.
I called to make a reservation for an early dinner for 8/31. I asked for outdoor seating and the young lady informed me they don't take reservations for outdoor dining that is on a first come first serve basis. Upon arrival I saw the hostess and asked for an outdoor table. She informed me they were completely booked with reservations for the outdoor dining. I said to her when I called to make a reservation, I was told they don't accept reservations for outside. The manager standing next to he quickly chimed in and said they don't accept outdoor reservation but if you have an indoor reservation you would get a priority for an outdoor table. I proceeded to go to the bar for a cocktail with my wife. After a nice drink I saw many available tables outside. In fact, I counted 14 empty tables. I went back to the manager and asked for a table because I saw there was plenty of seating available. He proceeded to tell me that he could not accommodate me because the tables were empty because the kitchen staff was maxed out. I found that hard to believe but took him at his word. I went back to the bar and ordered 2 shrimp cocktails and received my order in no time and proceeded to eat the with my wife on the arm of the Adirondack chairs that they have on the dock. I guess the kitchen staff wasn't maxed out. We ate awkwardly off the arm of the chairs while I saw plenty of seating available. I am a local resident, and I have enjoyed dining there many times but base on this experience it will be my last. The manager was an unprofessional A--
I made a reservation for a party of 8 for Christmas lunch and confirmed with the restaurant that they were having the regular lunch menu on December 21st as we wanted a sit down meal. I was having lunch with my elderly parents with mobility issues and we didn’t want a buffet. We have been coming for several years the last Sunday before Christmas and always had the lunch menu so we didn’t think it would be a problem. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and were told it was a buffet. The hostess didn’t seem to care when I told her that when we made the reservations we confirmed it was the lunch menu. The buffet presentation was terrible. The food was mediocre at best and extremely disappointing. Who serves peel and eat warm uncleaned shrimp and cut up bagel pieces in eighths. So tacky. The desert presentation looked like they put out one piece of leftover pie from each night one chocolate piece of pie, one apple pie, etc looked like the leftovers for the week. I could keep going but I will just end with after many years never going back. They must be struggling or under new leadership. Really awful experience.
