Excellent options for seafood lovers. I enjoyed the fried shrimp appetizer and a branzino plate with seasoned olive oil and side of brown rice + tomato/feta salad. The fish was perfectly cooked with crispy skin. Fry job on the appetizer was solid too. Service was fast during their soft opening! Will definitely add this spot to our neighborhood rotation!

BEST SEAFOOD Restaurant in El Cerrito!!! I live in Oakland and I come here at least once a week. It’s worth the drive. Decently priced, again the food is amazing, great customer service and the place is new and clean inside.

Two methods to order, one directly with the staff and the other is with a self-serve kiosk. You're notified when your order is completed by a phone number, and then you pick up your food from the counter. The staff has always been very helpful and are very willing to answer questions. Overall it's been a very welcome experience here, and I absolutely love their pineapple cream fountain soda ( hands down literally the best I've had). There were some dishes that I received that I felt was personally a bit too overcooked, example from the grilled Ahi and salmon plate (maybe just the chef at the time) , but other than that it was still a very decent and well-rounded meal. Also the sauces are pretty good. I do find myself coming here regularly so it's becoming one of my favorite spots.

Run for errand around el Cerrito wanted something fishy saw this place looks pretty decent order the Salmon Grill with white rice but doesn’t look white anyway my gf ordered the shrimp grill with rice it was both good. Honestly If they can increase the sauce on each dishes that would of be better And If you scan the barcode on the table you will get a FREE Salmon taco that was quite a complimentary. Will come back soon for Fish&Chips next time.

Clean and nice space. Tasty and healthy food. Several combos are very reasonably priced. I find the staff are friendly and professional. Maybe once or twice they’ve forgotten a side when I ordered pickup. That would be my only complaint, but that has been rare. CFG is one of my go-tos and very consistent. Picture is the Cajun fish taco combo.

Great spot for a quick, nutritious meal. It is also a comfortable place to dine in. Good service too.

My boyfriend and I ate like 3 courses at this place it was so GOOD. I like their fish stuff and shirmp stuff (haha get it because it is their whole menu). Overall amazing. 100% order their tomato and feta + shrimp skewer. Super amazing.

The food here is served hot and is always delicious. The servers are kind and friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. My favorite dishes are fried and grilled catfish. The fish and chips are the bomb. The kale coleslaw is excellent. The fries are hot and crispy. They have so many choices to choose from. We go once a week.

Decent place for a healthier meal that leans into the fast food genre. The food was tasty although I felt the portions were small. Service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was very cafeteria like and bare. Definitely a place to go eat and leave, no reason to stick around.

Updated Review This is almost a 5 Star. The Deep fried fish was excellent. The best Fish & Chips that I have had in years. I did not get Chips instead Rice. Excellent Beans, excellent (Bean soup like) Salad with Lime dressing, Excellent The food was a very good value and I have enough for 2 meals. As near as I can tell the food is made to order.* No over seasoning, add salt & pepper if you want. I deducted 1 star because of their ordering system. The touch screen ordering is just too complicated. I am 74 year old and computer literate. The staff is very pleasant and helpful.* *This restaurant is still in a start up mode. They will really step up their through put to stay in business. The order was to go.

Wow this place really surprised me. Food was delicious and place is clean. Thought it was gonna be some regular taco spot, but it was beyond just tacos. Must try when In area. Price was very reasonable also.

My grilled tuna is advertised as 55 gm of protein. Not correct! It was a 6 oz cooked tuna steak which has no more than 42 gm of protein. It looks like they estimate the protein in the uncooked tuna (which probably weighed 7-1/2 oz before grilling ) as cooked. Either increase the cooked portion of tuna to 7-1/2 oz or correct your claim to say 42 gm of protein. Do not mislead! Now I am not sure about your other claims.

Got a 2-piece that came with fries (not hot or tasty) and with 'Kaleslaw' which was the best thing on the plate. I would go back just for the Kaleslaw and maybe get fish from elsewhere. I asked for tartar, vinegar, lemon, and hot sauce which they gladly supplied. But the hot sauce came in little military grade packets which were impossible to open without scissors. I have a full set of real teeth but could not open the packet. It was like a taco bell sauce pckt but made of heavy duty material that you need scissors or knife to open 🤬 Disappointed bc I love hot sauce and tartar on fish..oh well I may go back just for the Kaleslaw but not that fish..maybe try shrimp next time

I don’t understand how this place has 4.6 stars. I’m not a hater, but service is a minimum- you order on a machine and pickup your own food like you’re at a McDonalds. Little to no interaction. The food is unbelievably mid, never have I ever had such subpar fish tacos. They serve you your food on a platter, we got two sets of utensils, all appeared to be dirty or have water marks on them (bring your own pair of utensils). Presentation is pretty (see photo below), but looks can only get you so far. If you have cravings for fish, find another restaurant. If you really have no other options I guess this could work. This place has competitive prices, but not competitive flavor.

The El Cerrito California Fish Grill burned my classic fish order and when I called to resolve the issue after I drive to pickup my order in the rain, the manager on, 12/27/23, at approximately 6:40pm, tells me to bring the order back when I return another time. “Bring the fish back”, I’m not driving back out in the rain, CFG should quality check their product before it leaves the kitchen, this horrible to say the least. If you want great food and service in the Albany—Berkeley area, keep it on Solano Ave, they seem to be more classy. The manager simply didn’t give a damn. WOW!
