Opinions de Chico's Tacos El Paso
The tacos here are delicious! I enjoyed the sauce and crunchiness of them. And I really liked the hotdog! So much flavor. I’m so glad I tried this place visiting El Paso.
This place is a local el paso legend. We all grew up here and either you love it or hate it. But its a must stop
Love coming here for so many years. Rosie or Omar the Cashier's are very friendly. They make you feel like a family member they haven't seen in a while. They have great customer service.
Chicos was always the go to place after having a great night of drinking and having an awesome night. Chicos would be opened at early hours of the morning. Great way to end a great night!! This was back in the 80's not expensive at all. The good ol days!
El Paso tradition, I stop at Chicos every time I am in El Paso. The Tacos are delicious but it's the sauce they are served in and the mound of cheese on top that is the star, so ridiculously delicious! Fries are good too to mop up leftover sauce. Locations are old and dated but who cares, also cash only. Must try if in El Paso.
I’ve heard people complain about the food here, but honestly, I don’t taste a big difference, it’s still good to me. My only real complaint is that they’re cash-only. Who even carries cash these days? One thing I do miss is the old bathroom key with the big metal plate attached. I was kind of looking forward to seeing that again for nostalgia. Overall, it’s still a solid spot.
The food here is not the best by any means, but it's part of El Paso history and it's like stepping back in time when you go here. The people are great and super nice and it gives you a feeling of nostalgia that only a place like this can. It's the kind of place tha lt becomes the common thread of a community and needs to be preserved at all costs.
Get double order and might still go back for more. If your first time try the hot dog, wild combination, beans, pickles, mustard on hamburger bun, it somehow works. They sell the jalapeno green sauce to go for a reason, you can drink that stuff. It all works, dip the taco rolls in the green sauce and enjoy. A must when in El Paso.
Coming to this location was like a trip down memory lane. I hadn’t been to this location in decades and it still looked the same. I came during lunch time and the service was pretty fast. The food was as delicious as always. Not much has changed, you still need cash but there’s an ATM, they still have a jukebox but the only thing that seems to chance was their prices. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely stop by.

What can I say, Chicos Tacos is unique in what they sell, and have to be doing it good to be in business since the 1950's. Quality food and decent prices. service is quick and atmosphere is a simpl…
Food is worth the wait. I never had an issue with service. I like the fact that something so simple have so much flavor when put together in a dish. Definitely a spot to stop at when I'm in town
The taquitos brought back great memories of college Alavera St. I walked in. English was not the primary language. I knew this was going to be a good lunch.
I loved this place and made it a point to get there even being from New York. This restaurant did not disappoint. Friendly staff. Worth going.
Not too bad. Worth the try but for a the time.
Coming to Chico's is like saying you very much enjoy going to McDonald's. You think it's good, you tell people it's good, but in all reality? It's like going to chilis. The meat is now soy based, t…

We used to love this franchise as kids when we lived here in the 70s. Unrematkable flautas with a boat of quality grated cheddat on the side. Nostalgic.

It's an El Paso staple but you'll either love it or hate it. It's hilight are rolled tacos with ground meat covered with shredded USDA style cheese and a tomato salsa sauce and green chile sauce. They also serve hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheeses and beef stew but everyone that goes, goes for the rolled tacos. It used to be the cheapest date in town but prices have gone up quite a bit in the past couple years. I like it..but it's an "acquired taste.
I am visiting from out of town and was told this is El Paso's cult classic, so we had to give it a try! First off, the place is CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM inside. There is plenty of parking an…
We went today and eat and got a double and two single two fries and two medium drinks and one small and extra cheese and got charged 57 dollars I was kind of confused because I had a 50 dollar bill thinking I would have enough and no he said it was 56 and some cents so I was looking for the receipt didn’t find it when I went to wait for my food I only had the ticket number so I went to ask and said he didn’t have it. I wanted to check what he had charged me. So I just left it like that I was thinking maybe the prices went up again. So I decided to call the place and it was busy so tried another chicos to see how much the prices are. And I got the updated prices and I added exactly what I had purchased on this place and does not add up to what I was charged. So either this old white man kind of bald is over charging people with out us not noticing. Because we pay in cash how can we claim if we are not provide a receipt. If it was credit well it would have shown. So be careful with this place when purchasing check ur order or ask for ur receipt. Because I got scammed with some money.imagine how many people he’s been doing this to. Maybe it was a mistake but for him not providing the receipt it was kind fishy. But any ways be careful with this place I went during lunch time.
I have traveled to and through El Paso many times and I was never able to stop here because they were closed when I went through. I finally made it and I was so excited to try the "famous" tacos! I ordered a single and a cheeseburger and fries. I cannot believe how disappointed I was with the tacos. Not only did the rolled tacos barely have beef, but the smell was not pleasant and burping the tacos was so gross! The cheeseburger and fries were actually really good and I would stop again for that. I have to believe that people have about this place is because they are locals and have grown up eating these tacos! Sorry, but they are severely overrated IMO!
I get it, and I don't. Food was pretty trash that's forgiven if the service was good enough. The place was super dirty, and a girl was up front working, then just went into the kitchen and started putting cheese on plates with no gloves. Pretty gross. I get the vibe. I like it. I don't get the part where they are printing money and can't clean the place or wear gloves. Hard pass El Paso. Oh, and the lady screaming numbers all day super annoying..

Food tastes flavorless and the fried tacos have no taste or meat. I would not recommend this place at all
So gross. Sauce is like watered down canned chef boyardee mixed with plasma from the blood bank. Tacos are worse than freezer taquitos. This place is disgusting.

Came to the first Chico's opened, bad awful experience. The tacos the freeze everything was so burnt 🔥 the fries were so hard the tacos I couldn't even bite through it I had to let it sold for a minute. Plus I asked if they could switch my fries manager Maribel gave attitude and they gave me some more BURNT fries 🍟 Everybody always comes from out of town to come eat Chico's tacos... Don't come to the one in Alameda rude manager and staff
Happening Right now 11/29/2025 around 7:00pm. at alameda . A Mexican man who is in charge in the cashier refused my disabled husband to serve in our second order and discriminate him telling him that he was cutting the line . No he was not cutting the line , I was falling in line and when it’s my turn I have to call my husband so that he can make the order and pay . But this cashier yelling at my husband and refused to serve us because he think he is cutting in line . Please educate your cashier and hope your camera is working and check what’s happening and investigate . Your cashier has an ugly attitude . There is security guard standing close to him but he didn’t do anything. Never ever coming back here never again .
I don’t normally leave reviews but I have basically been disappointed with all of the restaurants in El Paso. The food everywhere is flavorless. We stopped at this restaurant as it seems to be a local favorite. I ordered the flautas (Aka tacos drowned in watery, flavorless tomatoe sauce) and it was honestly the worst thing I have probably ever ate. I get that this city seems to be all Tex mex food instead of authentic Mexican food but even Taco Bell makes better Tex mex then whatever is made in this city.
Disappointed to say the least. Can’t see what the hype is about. The food has zero flavor, sauce is so watered down you can’t even taste what it’s supposed to be. Meat from the burrito is so dry. Customer service is so poor, never once saw someone smile, in the other hand they stare you down. Not sure what was more disgusting, the food or the restrooms. Got here as soon as they opened, and the woman’s restroom trash was overflowing with dirty feminine products, who knows how often they take out the trash. Extremely disappointed, will never come back. Not even one star.

Chico's Tacos: El Paso's Quirky, Unforgettable Cult Classic
Alright, so you’re in El Paso and someone mentions Chico’s Tacos. Your first thought might be, “Is it good?” My honest answer, as a local, is that it’s less about “good” in a traditional culinary sense and more about an experience. Think of it like a beloved family eccentric – you might poke fun, but you’d defend it to anyone who isn’t from around here.Chico’s isn't just a restaurant; it’s an El Paso institution, a true cult classic. You either fall in love with its unique charm or you just d
