Amazing service, great food. The festival is a family favorite‼
Love love love their food! The girls there are so sweet and friendly!
Had the jerk chicken, and beef Patty. Hands down, one of the best beef patties I had
I only come here once a year for the JERK TURKEY. Best turkey you will ever eat. Thanksgiving not the same without one anymore.
I love yardies but that ackee and saltfish was not it. That ketchup in the ackee and saltfish was no bueno 👎🏿
Coming here once a year to get Jerk Turkey for Thanksgiving. Tried it once few years back and no matter who is hosting, I am required to bring the Jerk Turkey.
Amazing portion size for good value
God bless the hands that make the cornmeal porridge. It was so delicious this morning. I will be going there for dinner this evening.
We definitely enjoyed the meal, plus great customer service! Thumbs up!
Great food. Great customer service. Some of the best tasting Jamaican food around town.
Didn’t get to take a picture because I devoured my plate but the jerk pork and jerk chicken is soooo good.
Everything fresh! Delicious! Definitely made with love. 😋🤤💕
Absolutely love it. The jerk chicken, rice and peas is delicious.
Because I receive great services from all. Food is tasty. They're professional.
The last dinner I had before returning home to San Antonio. It was delicious!
One of the best Jamaican in Elmont. Food is always fresh and tasty.
Food is always good, except for the days that they rush the oxtail.
Great Jamaican Food. Really Great patties and their prices are good. I especially recommend the chicken patty and oxtail, delicious always. Soups go very quickly also.
Moved to Florida and now miss this spot so much.. Florida can use good authentic tasting Jamaican food restaurants like Yardies. True Jamaican food full of flavor plates on point.
First time going today and i order the curry chicken. When i say the curry was so good I love. Definitely will be coming back.
I love this place I would eat lunch here every weekend, due to it being around the corner from my job! Made me feel as though I had home-cooked food.
This the only Jamaican spot I get jerk chicken from in the Cambria Heights area. If you're lucky enough to get there in the morning on certain days in the week, try their Triple Action porridge - no other place has it. Thank me later.
The food is really good. There's additional parking in the back of the restaurant if nobody was rude enough to block the driveway being lazy.
I ordered trays of their jerk chicken, peas and rice. Guests love it. They make good tasting stuff.
It still tastes the same after all these years lol!!! Oxtails don't disappoint!!!
I frequent this restaurant often send the food is good. Service is good as well. It's definitely my go to when I want jamaican food.
I've order twice from here through Uber, once at night. I have hungry sons. Food came earlier than expected and warm. Loved it. 2nd time was just this afternoon. I work from home and gotta time my lunch right. My boys and I ordered stew chicken and rice with peas. Love it. Chicken was juicy. Of course gotta order the beef patties and coco bread. All in all, good food filling and will most likely order again
I am not a big oxtail fan. But I decided to order it at Yardies. And I've been there almost every week for a large plate. They definitely make the best oxtail and I've tried it at many places. Definitely comes close to the home made, I love.
Well I went here for the first time on Friday 3/19/21. I had the oxtail dinner. I also have purchased the beef patties. My meal was plentiful and delicious. I will be going there again. I was not disappointed.
I forgot to update this, the porridge if a great way to start your day, the meals are all good, not too spicy. The chicken soup is just the right amount of spice. And the patties are nice and flakey like they should be.
I love Yardies. Their jerk chicken is so darn good, and I can eat their rice & peas by itself.. yummy. Their festival taste just like the ones I enjoyed in Jamaica. Customer service is very good too, and the manager is very personable. I will always patronize Yardies.
Mi love you like cooked food!!! Breakfast, lunch & dinner, Yardies got you covered!!
Yardee Food is Great yardee price is right keep it up Yardee now don't change the Price if go up then I know you seen my review, yardee give a lot of food thanks yardee.
Yardies in Elmont is my go-to spot for authentic Jamaican food! I had the jerk chicken with rice & peas and veggies — everything was packed with flavor and the portions were generous. The price is fair for how much food you get. The staff has amazing customer service — they even gave me a free beef patty since they were closing soon! The only small downside is that you can’t get the mac and cheese hot (you have to heat it up at home), but honestly the food is so good it doesn’t even matter. If you’re craving real Jamaican flavor with great service, this is the place. I go here all the time — never disappoints!
The food was amazing—really authentic and full of flavor. I asked for extra sauces and the lady at the counter was super nice about it, no attitude at all (which I appreciated, lol). The only downside was the mac and cheese—it was kept in the fridge, so you would have to take it home to heat it up, which kind of defeats the purpose of grabbing takeout so I didn’t get it. Everything else was great, and I’d definitely come back again!
Went there with my dad on 7/13/21 after finding them on google. The ladies at the front of the restaurant were pleasant and seemed to love helping customers. The meals were plenty and tasted very good too. My mom said she loved the rice and peas as it reminded her of how they cooked it back in Jamaica.
Above standard Jamaican eatery. Fish is cooked to order here.
ELMONT LOCATION ONLY! unlike the yardies on linden blvd with nothing but terrible nasty staff(save yourself the visit and just come to Elmont) the workers here are actually NICE and FRIENDLY they actually conduct themselves like human beings at this location which is why I frequent here and the food always on point.
The oxtail meal was very good and plentiful.I will definitely come back for another meal.
One of the best spots for authentic Jamaican breakfast you can find in the area.
Pretty good spot . Jerk chicken is always good
I love the Elmont location but I dont like how the food taste on Linden Blvd locations. (St. Albans)
I really enjoy the food here. Great for a quick take out. Just wish they had a few more things on the menu. Very friendly atmosphere 😊
Food is consistently good, but service can definitely be a bit slow. Hasn't stopped me from coming back. Definitely get the soup!!!
Service is bad but the food taste pretty good! On the phone you can be placed on hold for an extended period and not even an apology, when asked for one utter silence!
Prices were pretty decent! I didn't order much, I can only speak for the chicken soup and festival. Everything was nice and hot!!! Soup taste good, wasn't spicy at all. However I just asked for hot sauce! I would definitely go back there again. I'll keep you guys posted on my next meal there.
I've been here before but only for a veggie patty. I didn't know they had veggie soy chunks until I read Melba's review above. I bought the stewed chunks and it came with red beans and rice, veggies and plantains. They gave me a large portion which I shared with my mom and she loved it. we are both fans!
Ordered 4 Ackee and Saltfish with Food and it was very good. Everything was delicious however there were no boiled bananas in either one of the four that was ordered. If it wasn't for that it issue I would have given them 5 stars.
Jerk Chicken was on point, fed everyone well... but the Brown Stew Chicken had more shards of bone than meat. JUST USE BONELESS THIGHS.
Normally I Oder with Uber, I get the soups chicken and beef first time I ordered it was good I got enough chicken and beef, my orders after that has been worse where I get a cup full of carrots and few shreds of chicken in the beef soup I have started getting beef bones and no beef, my last order I got 4 beef bones with not a shred of beef.
The food is tasty, and depending on the time of day, the people upfront are less than cordial. Smiling at customers and saying good evening, good morning is mannerable.
My go to spot for Jamaican cuisine in Elmont, NY. The prices have risen a bit over the years but overall a great deal for a meal.
First time visiting, my sister and myself both got small oxtail dinner... $19 per plate for the smallest oxtails you've ever seen! They literally were the size of my middle finger. No meat at all. Just a ton of rice and a side of cabbage. Food tasted delish but the amount and size left much to be desired. Won't be going back unfortunately.
I went to Yardies because it was recommended to me, but I'm going to have to talk to my friend. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner and the chicken was okay and moist but the skin was overcooked and had hardly any jerk season flavor. The rice and peas was good, but I was served cold veggies, a 90 degree turn from the usual hot veggies you get any and everywhere else. Overall I wouldn't recommend the jerk chicken dinner. I did buy the chicken soup, which I haven't tasted yet, hopefully it will make up for the disappointment from the jerk chicken. I braved a downpour semi flood for below average chicken, it was storming that evening.
Prices definitely went up (pre-covid) but now the portions are a lot smaller. Got a family meal which cost me $25-$30 two years ago. Price now: $44. Sides - nothing to brag about. Oxtails were decent. Will I go back? Probably not.
I went there for the first time this morning. The Acker and salting is soupy and chunky. The boiled banana dry and the boiled sibling is uncooked. What a waste of money.
This should be a porridge shop, that’s the only good thing serve here. They need a new chef & to throw away the oil they are using to cook. The liver & calaloo was so bad.
Customer service is not welcoming, food is not consistently good. They ONLY serve rice and they are greatly overpriced. Their VERY tiny pieces of plantains EXPENSIVE... 4 pieces for $2. This same two dollars can buy up to 8 pieces of whole plantains.
Ordered escovich fish and felt fried 2 days ago. There are tons of onions with no vinegar or peppers. how??? ..not how it's usually done plus overpriced anyhow. Had I known, I would have bought 2 fish and threw raw onions for myself
Food is wonderful.. But for the life of me how does a restaurant be out of menu items.. Bad business management.. If something is sold out, you're not making enough so make more.. Out of soup in 6 vist
I literally came here a couple weeks ago to get sl chicken soup because I was sick. There was a young girl working who have me the chicken soup and I left. Although she was nice this girl literally gave me nothing but water. I couldn't find any chicken and two pieces of carrot. Why would I pay $8 (I think that was the price) for just chicken flavored water. Smh
First time I went there was a Wednesday the chicken soup WAS good nice thick, authentic Jamaican soup. The 2nd time I went there to get soup was a Saturday, and it WASN’T so good. Tasted like it was from a can and was super watery. They lack consistency.
I came there on Saturday only because I was in the area ,usually order from.the St Albans location which is pretty good. But the Elmont location never again wanted some authentic chicken soup.to my surprise,1st of all we know the color of chicken soup I got can soup disguise as chicken soup with the noodles inside.it was so salty ,I could not drink it.I was so disappointed. Carrots, spinners and chicken was included. It tasted just like Campbell's chicken soup.whoever made that soup shame on you.
I love the Yardie chain, but this specific one right here has good food, but horrible customer service. The girls that work behind the counter at the register are very rude and condescending. The owner needs to be a little bit more picky and who they hire because the people that work at the front are the first impression that people are gonna get of the business.. please and thank you can go along way and a smile. Specifically, a girl there that has glasses and braces is the rudest not my first bad interaction with her.
I got my food delivered. I ordered a chicken soup and festival! This is my 1st time ordering from here. The soup was more carrot soup than chicken being that there was literally 1 pc of chicken in it. It is very tasty but where is the chicken, corn, dumpling?! The festival was hard as if they heated up and gave me yesterday's festival. I'm not very pleased as a 1st time customer.
A after having gotten several meals at this place which were tasty and fine. On several occasions I visited with my wife, and my cousin,. this is the third time I've ordered the chicken soup and as per the two previous times I specified that I would like my soup to contain other ingredients than just carrots and a few pieces of chicken. Yesterday was my last will be my last time patronizing the restaurant because, if you had advertised carrot soup on the menu then I could understand why I kept getting soup broth loaded with carrots and a few measly pieces of chicken. This I will certainly let everyone know about this place and their practices.
Shi is very rude. I was ask what you recommend for me she is looking at me. Smell terrible.
Food taste disgusting... How can you put sugar into stewpeas.
FOOD TO DRY.NO PLANTIANS ON JERK AND RICE. NO SAUCE
The patty was terrible and so was the coco bread, I normally go to Golden Crust for patties but I was starving and this place was on the way to my location, the place wasn't as clean I didn't even finish my patty utterly disappointed
Very unprofessional staff, especially in COVID times like now they don’t wear mask properly and always talking over the food, i don’t recommend ever eating here !!!
Never again will I go back to this disgusting restaurant. I should call the health inspection on them. I brought a brown stew chicken, which was nasty to begin with. Only to find a big ass piece of paper towel mixed in the gravy.....I don't know how the hell the lady serving my food missed that. I was so furious....couldn't even bring it back because I was too far away at the moment.......never aigain
Terrible and overpriced!!!!.. i ordered the large stew chicken and veggies only plate, the veggies are raw slaw from a bag uncooked and unseasonsed. The cost with tax was about $15!!! The chicken is nothing but back pieces and gravy!!! I tried to call but the phone isn't in service!! I knew I stopped going there before for a reason, never going back!!!!
The chicken soup was terrible. Every spoonful has nothing but small pieces of bones in there. I felt like I was drinking vegetable oil more than soup. This is the first and last time I’ll ever have any of their soups.
Had ackee and it was very nasty. It was 3days old. She gave me more cod fish then ackee. Never getting that ever again.
Terrible place. Besides the overcharging they served me frozen Mac and cheese and I called to complain and the guy told me i will have to warm the mac and cheese my self! Why would I pay for hot food to go and waste time to microwave it?!
Cheap food and you pay exactly for what you get. Bought stew peas and there was not one piece of beef all salt pig tail. So sad but have to say ‘RUN’
The food there is never the best tasting but buy at times because of convenience. However, on 04/08/2023 approximately 1:30pm I bought small curried cow feet with rice and peas. I parked close by and decided to eat. When I opened the food it was 3 pieces little of meat with the bones attached and 3 pieces of bones with no meat on them. I walked back to the place and the cook said there was nothing wrong with the serving and the lady who assisted me said “but you have 3 pieces of bones that have meat on them.” I dumped the food in their garbage bin in front of them knowing well that I will never buy there again. And I’m also discouraging all my family and friends not to.
I try and support but Never again.... Everytime I order from this place, I always get the short end of the stick. My meal was packed with rice with a little portion of meat (mostly fat and bone after bone after bone) disappointed me , especially for the price!....damn near $50 for a taste of curry goat smfh! I prefer you walk in and buy your food so you can see what is being put on your tray before, ordering from them online.
They need to do way better with a basic thing like soup. Third time ordering soup and it definitely didn't taste like no Jamaican soup it had no taste and not to mention the two pieces of chicken they threw in it , just imagine ordering a small soup and threw away 3 quarter.
Every time I order on Uber eats it's a disappointment from yardies. Terrible packaging, my coco bread is always soggy from the kola being put next to it and the patty is very hard and stale tasting, the plantains as well. Overall would not recommend their services/food. At most I would recommend to grab a quick juice or water.
I go here once a week and I order the same thing everytime when on Saturday and order a small Calalou and salt fish and was told it has to be large because they don’t sell the small mix smfh never coming here again
i’m use to only eating one jamaican restaurant but so happy i tried this! jerk chicken, chicken patty and chicken soup was delicious! ordered off ubereats and the food still came hot and fresh and they actually listened to the order notes. Will be my new spot UPDATE- went here a few times after my first uber eats order and each time after was a disappointment
NEVER ORDER HERE. I spent 32 dollars on a LARGE Oxtail and they really put 4 pieces of oxtail in my plate. I basically paid 30+ for rice and vegetables. I been going here for a while but I will NEVER Order here again. Outrageous rip off
Couldn't believe the amount of chicken, they gave me very little and two pieces of plantain literally the size of quarters. The cashier would not let me pay with a card even though my total was at $9.75 because there was a $10 minimum. The worst part of all was the food... it was mediocre no good flavor to the food. First and last time going there!
Let me start by saying the staff there are very rude, very nasty for no reason! Please do not visit this location, try the queens location instead. The rice tastes two days old!! The audacity of them. Nothing fresh anymore???!
Very disappointed! How can you charge $10 for this dish and give your customers one scoop of ackee and saltfish, one dumpling and one banana? If you want returning customers this is not how you get them.
If I could give zero stars I would’ve. We ordered from here via Uber Eats, and the portion sizes for our oxtail plate and jerk chicken were absolutely unacceptable. I received four of the smallest oxtail pieces I’ve ever seen—literally no meat on any of them except for one. On top of the poor food quality. It felt like blatant theft of their customers’ money. We all couldn’t believe the portion size. Never again!
The staff was decent no lie the food was completely trash with no taste all these ppl who big up this place don't know carribbean food at all or don't know what it should taste like. I was so disappointed on the food quality I dont even care that the portion size was bad as is, please upgrade your chef and im strictly about food quality. I hope you guys improve because however you got a 4 star rating to fool ppl is a big mislead. Btw they still got the entire front plexiglass and the place literally has nothing to it hope you guys renovate to make it look like an actual food place.
Absolutely sick after eating here today. We shared a large oxtails...extra plantains that were small pieces of the end if the plantain. Git the wings ans soup from next door. The food was horrible. And we're both suffering from a severe bout of diarrhea. Don't eat here. Do yourself a favor.
Worst Jamaican Soup I ever tasted in my life. It was watery, only contained carrots and the chicken was chewy. I literally had to throw it away. I did order after 6PM so maybe they whipped it up right quick. So disappointing. I called the restaurant and let them know but they didn’t care at all.
The one star is for the veggies on the side ! The oxtail which was 20 dollars might I add came like the picture below. It was extremely salty the entire thing went straight to the trash. It’s so disheartening spending your money to skip the kitchen for a the day and this is the none sense you end up with.
So, I was hesitant about ordering & after seeing my food today, I see why Oprah says “listen to that little voice on the inside”. So I ordered a large chicken soup & a small callaloo & saltfish. The soup was very mediocre & the callaloo & saltfish was a sight I’ve never seen. I’ve had callaloo & saltfish countless times, but never in my life have a seen a restaurant separate the callaloo & saltfish. This is literally insane. They also gave me the container that has 3 sections & put my callaloo on one side, saltfish on the other side & the steamed dumplings on the larger side of the tray. My callaloo & saltfish that I paid for should’ve been on the larger container side. I will never order from here again & would suggest, no one else does either.
