A classic gem. Can be loud. Typical pizza place atmosphere. Food is good. Parking not great. Enjoy.
Delicious and unique pizzas with a very affordable gluten free crust option. The gorgonzola and arugula pizza was so rich and flavorful! Going back again this week yo try some of their seafood pizzas for sure!
It so close to Moonlight Beach within walking distance. Pizza so delicious and flavorful. First time here and I ordering over the outings made it even more convenient. I will be using them again in the future for sure. And price was affordable. Staff was friendly and helpful in picking out a pie to feed my group.
Family dinner special is an amazing deal, and great quality. I ordered it for a beach picnic/campfire dinner and it was perfect!!! Bread, pasta, pizza, salad and cookies for a great deal!!! All were delish. ***update came in for happy hour 7/1/2025 and happy hour menu did not disappoint $5 wings, meatballs, Caprese salad, personal pizza, beer, $3 cookies and tiramisu, and $6 wine by the glass.
It was our first time there, and we will definitely go back again. We ordered the caprese salad to start, which was absolutely amazing, and we also ordered a mushroom and pepperoni pizza, which was so good! And, for dessert, we ordered fresh chocolate chip cookies to go!! We will definitely recommend it to everyone!!
I've been coming to Leucadias every year when my family and I come out to visit San Diego every summer since 2015. The quality of food has consistently been great. Always served hot, fresh and quickly. I'll always take time out to visit when I'm in town. It's rare to find a restaurant like that, where you know you'll leave happy, and with fond memories. Thank you, Leucadias!
The best restaurant I've been to in a long time. Excellent service, excellent food, reasonable prices. And hallelujah, it actually exists: a restaurant that serves hot food. Every item was hot. Wow! Tomato bisque soup was excellent. Shrimp on salad was excellent. Garlic bread was excellent. We prefer our plain pizza crust a bit thinner and a bit more cheese, but really it was tasty and delicious and we ate the whole thing. The side of vegetables was a bit underdone. The people sitting next to us had lasagna and veal parmesan which looked fantastic. I can tell this is a well-managed restaurant. Everybody was working hard, including the bus boys. We look forward to returning.
I love this place. They have the best garlic bread, really good pizza dough and sauce, fantastic soups! And I always grab a salad. 1/2 is a perfect size and sometimes it's a little too much but it's always good. This is a great spot to eat in or take to the beach solo, with family & friends or my favorite, date night. This time I came for lunch and took pictures after we started, lol.
Cosy Italian restaurant with a great ambience, great pizzas and very friendly staff. I am not a resident of Encinitas and we just googled for a pizzeria nearby while we were at Moonlight State beach. I am really glad we went to this place. The staff was really welcoming and accommodating. Our meal started with garlic bread which tasted great. We ordered BBQ Pizza from their speciality section. With a sprinkle of oregano and pepper, the pizza tasted amazing. We loved the preparation. We did not want to drink that night so we did not prefer to go for the Happy Hours. From what I saw, they had drinks and personal pizza at discount in their Happy Hours section at the bar. Overall, the experience was amazing! I would definitely recommend you visit this Italian restaurant. *********************************** This review was written to be helpful to you, the consumer, and, to also bring relevant information to the attention of the business in focus. All 5 Pizzas were delicious Lasagna was delicious Salmon dish was not so good The caesar salad was too I mean way too excessively salty. The margarita pizza vegan option The Hawaiian The Deluxe which is just a combo pizza that Costco used to sell. Customer service was good! Would definitely go back!
Good food and portions. I'd prefer never seeing my server eating her lunch behind the counter as she's preparing serving my food. 130pm. In response to owners question.
Leucadia Pizza in Encinitas offers some of the best pizzas in town! The quality of their pizzas is outstanding, with each bite bursting with flavor. Their Hawaiian pizza is a standout, with a hint of cinnamon that perfectly complements the sweet and savory toppings. The Meat Lovers and Roasted Chicken pizzas are also fantastic, loaded with delicious toppings that satisfy any pizza craving. And don't get me started on their carrot cake—it's absolutely out of this world! However, there are some downsides, especially if you’re a takeout customer. Despite regularly spending over $100, we’ve been charged 25 cents per packet for peppers and Parmesan cheese, and even more for a small container of ranch. These items should be complimentary, especially since dine-in customers receive them for free. It feels quite unreasonable to have to bring your own condiments to avoid these extra charges. This aspect detracts from the otherwise excellent experience, and it’s something the restaurant should reconsider.
Parking can be a little challenging but with patience you’ll find a spot. Food was great! Service as well. It was a double date. We shared a large pizza and a the Apple walnut salad among the 4 of us. Salad not pictured we do outed it before I could take a picture. My husband also got the chicken Parmesan, with spaghetti. The bread they offer was dangerously good.
We really liked the dog friendly covered patio here. The patio has a good view of the traffic along highway 101 and Encinitas Blvd, and has a little bit of ocean view too. We all liked the cheesy garlic bread, it was 4 slices and a huge amount of marinara for dipping. The lunch special was very cheap, and despite definitely being a smaller portion I didn't leave feeling dissatisfied or anything. I will say, having had their food at several locations over the years, Leucadia certainly isn't fine dining. The price is fine for what you get, but it's always seemed a big greasy. For both pizza and pasta there's certainly better places, but it's not like I'm unhappy we went here either. I did appreciate how huge the parking lot is, and there were tons of families with kids, so this is definitely a good place for a low stress, low-key lunch.
Not sure what's going on here but I suspect financial problems. Minimal wait staff, you order at the register and find yourself a seat. We ordered a larger pizza, among other things. The bottom of the crust was black (burned). We were starved and ate the pizza. We did inform a staff member that our crust was burned and had evidence as proof. On his own that staffer told the pizza maker and unbeknownst to us a new pizza was in the oven. When we were leaving we were told it would be another few minutes before the pizza would be done. The manager (maybe owner) had a mini melt down when he found out that a replacement pizza was on the way. Sorry to say thathe place just isn't what it used to be.
We have frequented this location many times and had nothing but good things to say about it. Today, we walked in with a new set up that you must order and get your own drinks yourself. The poor front area cashiers ended up doing all the services of a waitress without a tip unless you gave them something on the way out in a jar. What’s up with the change? Go back ti the old service and forget this “do it yourself” meal.
This restaurant is really cool. The pizza is super delicious. The problem was I ordered a chicken BBQ pizza and ask three times please No onions. The pizza had onions and ruined it. I told her and she didn't ask to replace it. She said That she told him. Any way I ordered a pineapple and ham for the wife and a pepperoni for the son and ate that. Those pizzas were delicious! I would recommend but be careful what you ask for.
Have been going for several years. Today was not good. Thai Chicken Salad, hardly any peanuts or noodles, poor quality. What happened to the waiters. Atmosphere not the same as before. Bring back the wait staff and quality of food. Very disappointed 😞
This used to be our favorite local restaurant for pizza and Italian food. Not long ago, they changed from a full service restaurant to counter service only. We could not believe that they allowed dogs in the restaurant, and even allowed owners to feed them at the table. Tonight, they actually had a patron sitting with no shirt on. When I inquired about a dress policy for shoes and shirts, I was rudely told that there was none. In addition, management told me they did not care whether I came back again or not. In addition to health code violations, the management's rudeness and lack of caring has made it so I will NEVER set foot in there again. The clientele is so low, and lack of both service and high prices has made it so I will no longer eat at this establishment.
We came to this physical location thinking it was still Leucadia Pizzeria, a place we visited constantly when we lived in the area. We entered the restaurant, the vibe was not the same. The counter lady told us this was counter service only. We sat and ordered, finally realizing this in fact is not the same business we loved. Leucadia Pizza took over purposely deceiving people by using a similar name. Pizza was so burnt that for the first time, I had to send back. If you're looking for the nostalgia of a one once amazing restaurant, don't come here. Employees have no enthusiasm for their job and the mood is glum.
