Bagels and Brew is a great spot for a quick bite to eat. I enjoy going there or days when I'm running errands or grocery shopping. The smoked salmon bagel is my favorite, with sockeye salmon, capers, red onion, and tomato. There coffee is always hot and fresh and my favorite is the North Pole blueberry coffee.
The staff was Amazing! The gappiest workers! So positive and helpful. Great stop! It is not cheap so be ready but delicious!!
This place should have more stars. These are proper NY-style bagels. A ton of delicious choices (really hard to choose) and multiple sandwich options. We tried the Wild Smoked Salmon on Everything bagel, Plain bagel with cream cheese, Cinnamon raisin bagel with pumpkin spice cream cheese, and Blueberry bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. We came here twice on our trip to Fairbanks and wished we had more days in the visit to go back again. We strongly debated going back at the end of the day to bring a dozen home with us but our schedule didn't work out. Opens early so was also a great spot to go fill our tummies after early hours aurora chasing. Northern lights, NY-style bagels and Alaskan blueberry coffee...what more could you want?
There are a lot of different bagels and sandwiches to choose from. The shop is big and has a lot of seats. I really like the mocha coffee there. It's my favorite drink.
We had an Onion Bagel with Veggie cream cheese and a Rio Wrap but on a Poppyseed Bagel. Both were excellent. The coffee we had was also one of the better coffees we had in the Fairbanks area. Service was great too. Btw, the seats reserved for a pair of regular customers was cool and sweet! Overall, highly recommended if you are in the Fairbanks AK area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great place to stop for good coffee, great bagels, wraps and breakfasts. We had the breakfast bagels and they were fresh, flavourful and quick. Coffee and hot chocolate were both good too. Friendly staff, small eating area available. Also has a drive through and to go orders.
Pizza bagels were absolutely delicious in - 15 degree weather. Hot and savory. The wild smoked salmon (lox) bagel had a good ratio of everything. Very large bagel selection including a bacon cheddar that I've never had before.
First time to Fairbanks. Weren't many places to eat from what I could see. This place got good ratings so I took a shot. Glad I did. Food was very good, fresh cut veggies. I had the protein bowl. Service was good. Would go again.
Ordered a Smoked salmon on a salty bagel which was fantastic. Also ordered honey walnut cream cheese on a Sourdough bagel. Yummyyy! They were a little bit disorganized preparing the orders and forgot to give me my coffee, but the food was great.
Can't give more than 3 stars because of the price. FOOD: the best wild salmon bagel I ever had. The smoke salmon was perfect. It wasn't salty or overly smoky. Just the right amount of cream cheese and onion to bring out the flavor. The bagel sandwich was 5 stars. PRICE: while the sandwich was good bit paying over $14 for a bagel sandwich is too much in my opinion. Add tip,over $15. Too much in my opinion. Even though I loved the sandwich, the price tag might hold me back from eating here again.
People are always great… just sad to see over the years the bagels have gotten soooo small for the price to pay here. Got a veggie sandwich today and realized it’s about the size of a biscuit. I drove the extra 5 minutes to Lulu’s and got a similar product and ate that instead.
I frequent here at least once a month bc I love bagel sandwiches even if the bagels here are average and at least one thing in my order every time is incorrect. However, today was awful. I ordered 2 items and both bagels the tops were overcooked and the bottoms were downright burnt, I can’t believe they would severe overcooked bagels even though I have seen many times that their baskets of bagels often have overcooked ones in there. My sandwich wasn’t made correctly (this happens every time, either forget the cheese or put the wrong one on there, this time they didn’t put the chipotle sauce on). I typically would never bring back food that was wrong but I was so frustrated bc my food was inedible. They remade it but of course had the wrong cheese on the remake, there was sauce but it didn’t taste like chipotle sauce, bagel still seemed overcooked but was much better than the first.
07-22-24 First visit: Protein bowl was ok, but very heavy on bell peppers. Green, yellow, and red over took all other flavors. Breakfast bagel was good. Coffee was very weak, with very little flavor. Very little emotion from servers. Seemed angry about something. Neither smiled the whole time we were there. Most likely won't be back.
It’s not a service restaurant, more of order to go and find your own seats. The bagels itself were great, but the breakfast sandwich was okay. The egg and the sausage patty were pre-made, not made to order which isn’t fresh. It felt like getting a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks, they slapped some meat on and tossed the bagel into the oven to heat up. The salmon cream cheese spread neither tasted like salmon nor cream cheese, disappointing. Got a regular house blend coffee with milk, tasted water down. If I was in a rush, I would come here but not for quality meal.
I come here quite a bit, but this morning I was thrown off. I ordered a fountain drink and a bowl of soup through the drive through, totaling $15. When I got to work, it appeared to be a cup of soup (extremely small). I called and requested to have my card refunded the difference. The only solution to this issue was for me to drive all the way back to the restaurant for the workers to inspect the size of the cup that was given to me. If it was in fact a cup, then they'd give me a free bowl of soup. I was completely shocked there was not an alternative option provided. I work in the restaurant business and was hoping there would be an alternative where I wouldn't have to waste about an hour of my day. Disappointed in the customer service as I could hear the workers screaming to each other while the individual mistakenly did not put me on hold. These things happen, but I would have appreciated additional consideration in making this scenario a better experience for the customer.
Visually appealing bagels, but unfortunately, the taste doesn’t live up to the presentation. If you’re from New York, don’t even bother—these won’t come close to what you’re used to. Being from Texas, my standards for bagels are admittedly lower, but even then, the flavor fell short of expectations. A bit of a letdown overall.
I really enjoy this place. They have really good food and the bagels are awesome. However, at least three out of four times that I visit my order is incorrect. The staff is friendly until you have an issue with what they made for you. Last time my order was messed up for at least the 20th time I decided that was enough and I needed to call and let them know about it. The individual I spoke to was extremely rude and very short with me. Then when I showed up at the store to receive The sandwich that was to correct and order they messed up. They were extremely short with me and not friendly at all I’m trying to write this as respectful as possible so that this can just be fixed. I love the bagels, but I can’t stand Having my order messed up 75% of the time and Usually only after tipping.
Not sure why this place is highly reviewed. We just went through and are very disappointed. One coffee came out hot, the other was already cold. My smoked salmon bagel was ice cold, definitely not toasted and it’s not smoked salmon. Couldn’t even eat it. The other breakfast bagel was hot and okay. The staff was not friendly or welcoming and had to take our order twice. Over all very disappointed and not worth $40.
Sandwiches are overpriced for what they are. The place is constantly busy to where there isn't enough staff and too much is going to where they will most likely mess up your order. Go to Sunrise Bagels or get bagels and cream cheese from the store. It's less expensive, time consuming, and it tastes better. I have gone four times within the last year while intentionally spreading out time in between to make sure this experience was not an isolated event. With those times only once was my order successfully completed as I asked. The other times they were messed up one way or another. The staff needs help with their morale. Anyone going to order can feel the tension and their stress and that they are drained. I felt it each time and I wanted to get out of there as quick as possible. This place has potential, but site management and leadership needs to step up and revitalize the place starting with their team. Take better care of your employees and figure out their needs and how to build on their strengths and weaknesses.
The drink's were great.... HOWEVER the atmosphere was entertaining in a very negative way.... There is a worker that really brought our first visit at this place down.. Terrible service Abruptly After saying Good morning when it was afternoon asked are we eating? Or drinking in a unpleasant tone. But that wasn't really a bother, the reason for the negative review is due to how she carried herself towards her co-workers . Being very bossy, ordering a certain coworker to make bagels after he took my drink order and my husbands. She took over our orders started to make our drinks but got sidetracked and later returned to the espresso machine seeing our drinks SHE was preparing unfinished and hollard back at the same certain coworker "why didn't you finish these drinks!?" And at his defense replied you told me to make bagels.... Super unprofessional entertainment... I hope she can improve in her service not just to customers but especially towards her co-workers.
I started going to this business a lot with my wife but the customer service is terrible to begin with. The second to last time we went there was no one up front so we were standing there waiting till someone came around the corner and finally noticed us; every worker ive seen there seems to be around my age (their 20s) and act very condescending and like they have better things to do then their job - one time i went back in to throw my stuff away and 2 workers who were sitting at a table stared at me till i left. As for the food the bagels have been so tough i could hardly chew it and the very last time i went the girl didnt even ask if i wanted it toasted so i was served a cold tough bagel. The coffee their always always taste like hot, sweet milk no matter what drink i order as well. Very disappointing overall experiences, i hope someone teaches them better customer service skills and food making techniques.
I ordered the Thai peanut wrap and it was the saddest excuse for a lunch wrap that I’ve eaten. Picture speaks for itself. And for $13.95, no less. I know their bagels are delicious, but this was frustrating.
