I have not gotten a chance to have the food here yet, but I was able to sit down and grab a couple drinks. The bartender/server Tiffany was absolutely the sweetest! She was very knowledgeable & knew exactly what drinks to serve me! I had no clue what i actually wanted to drink, so i told her my favorite things i like and she surprised me with something amazing!! she made my bar experience here, very relaxing, peaceful, and pleasant
My husband and I came here tonight to try it out, since it just recently opened. We ordered two apps (the deviled eggs and avocado bomb), both were delicious. I had a two meat combo (brisket and smoked sausage) with asparagus and elote, and husband had the Pit Master sandwich and fried okra. Both were good - the meet was cooked well and tasted good. Cocktails were also nice, tastes great. We’ll be back here again! This place does have a cool concept, where you can order from the other restaurant as well (shared kitchen). We didn’t do that this time, but we will in the future!
Nice spot with a great vibe. Came in with a large group and we were all pleasantly surprised at how well the staff took care of us. Impressed that the general manager, Blake Prince, made the rounds to each table to make sure we were all taken care of. Our table started off with prime brisket queso and buffalo deviled eggs, both equally amazing. I had the smoked turkey melt with truffle fries. The smoked turkey was very moist and perfectly smoked. Our table also had a Spicy pastrami brisket sandwich, and a two meat combo with brisket and ribs, with fried okra, mac & cheese, and coleslaw as sides. Excellent choices, we were all very happy with our selections. Thanks again Blake for the amazing bourbon recommendations, and for taking such great care of our group. We will definitely be back soon. I highly recommend this establishment, thanks again!
I sat at the bar and had lunch it was great the bartender was super friendly and attentive even talked me into having a drink never had that specific concoction before but I would definitely have it again brisket with super moist and delicious we're talking falling apart just the way I like it I hate dry brisket.
Great place. Excellent food with a great choices. The services was exceptional and we had a holiday party of 40 people. They handled it with ease. Highly recommend.
Zero complaints. Diverse menu, cool drinks and great service. We are barbecue snobs and had no input for what we ordered. Smoked chicken was so juicy, half rack of ribs was too much for our 16 year old athlete to finish (which speaks volumes) and the quesabirria tacos with the green sauce were amazing. We were on the fence with the sides being $7 each, but we ordered the mac and cheese and elotes and it was more than enough for the 3 of us to share. Service and atmosphere was a 10/10 as well.
Very nice environs and great food. First time so had to try the smoked and fried whole buffalo wings. Very flavorful and worth the journey. Black Agave Mexican venue operates out of same kitchen so customers can take advantage of both options. Staff was super friendly. Patio is very appealing with water views but likely warm in summer pre sunset. Music on special occasions.
The food was absolutely amazing and my waiter Matt did a phenomenal job. He answered all my questions with a smile and he also had a great personality the entire time. In regards to the food; the ribs had just the right amount of pull to them, while being nice and tender. The brisket was extremely juicy and tender as well. Perfectly seasoned. I also got a side of chimichurri, which I highly recommend. It added even more flavor!!! The star of the show was the banana cream bread pudding. It was absolutely to die for. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some amazing food. I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu.
Great soft opening! Came here with my family and got the chance to try their amazing dishes. Atmosphere was amazing and seems like a great spot to come here with friends to just relax and dine. The staff was very polite and friendly through the whole night too! Would recommend their bourbon cake, great way to end the night! Looking forward to coming back!
First time coming over here now that it is open, it was quiet, but the service was fantastic! Rachel our server was super nice, informative, and we enjoyed how personable she was with all the customers. Definitely a place I can see us being regulars and building community. They have a bar space, some tables and a community high top table, and several TV screens playing different football games. They also have a pool table that we want to try out next time. We ordered the Brisket Grilled Cheese and the Pit Master sandwiches and they were both delicious! Wanted to try other things but are saving that for next time. The fries were crispy on the outside with an airy texture on the inside, and if you like ranch instead of ketchup they have it! So good! The manager Clayton came to talk to us while my husband was finishing his beer, and was super nice too. Overall great first experience and we will definitely be back!
Had the pleasure of trying out this new spot at the Mercer Boardwalk! The decor gives you that TX feel but a modern twist. Having the TV's playing the World Series was great! Service was awesome with Griffin as our waiter. He was attentive, professional, and able to answer questions. The manager, Clayton, welcomed and talked with us, making sure we were okay. The food was flavorful with some spice. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying other food items on the menu! Try the bourbon cake, delicious!
10/10 would recommend!! We were shocked by the quality of service and great wait staff. The music wasn’t too loud and the atmosphere was pleasant. Issac was great! Would recommend the frozen strawberry margarita.
How. Can a Rib. Be. This BIG?? Today I had the pleasure of trying the Dino Rib at @barrelandbonestx Farmers Branch and let me tell you - it is INTIMIDATING. Where is all that meat supposed to go??? 😂 And yes - it is good!! I just have enough to last me 3 days! 😂 The service was also amazing and very fast.
Super friendly staff, amazing mixologists and fantastic food! Another really cool thing: it's a shared building and kitchen between Barrel & Bones and Black Agave, so that means you can sit in either restaurant (totally different vibes) and order items from both menus!
Brand new and the food is fabulous! Came in for brunch and service was great and the food was even better! The Chicken Tinga was really tasty, you will want more than one. The Smoked Buffalo Cauliflower was so good, and well all of it was great. Open concept, lots of TV to watch games, bar is very nice, and bathrooms are clean.
It’s rare that I give any place 5 stars in every category BUT today I was impressed! From the quality of service, the accuracy of the order, and Marc our sever & bartender was AMAZING! Will definitely patron this restaurant again! Like tommrow for the Saturday Brunch 😊
Max the bartender is a true connoisseur of his craft! The food, drinks and vibe are 10/10 but it is truly the personnel that work here that take care of the patrons that makes it worth returning! Ask for Max at the bar.
Definitely recommend! All the dishes we tried were great and flavorful! Amazing old fashions! Great beer selection.
We stopped in to check it out after seeing the Now Open flags from 635. The restaurant is great. So welcoming and the food was wonderful. The brisket, the queso and the bacon infused old fashion was all great. Our bartender Mark gave us a tour of the place and showed us the great outdoor space. Happy hour is 4-7 which is so nice to see since not everyone gets off work at 4. Also told us about Whiskey Wednesdays need to come back to check that out.

This restaurant has become our workplace obsession. We have never been disappointed with the food we order and they have great staff. We all become regulars and I always recommend this place for good local and reasonably priced meals.
All around great, the bartender took care of us. My wife and I were in the mood for Texas Twinkies and this place populated in Google. Although the first place was closed in Carrolton due to being rented out for a private event, we were determined and so we went to the one off of Lyndon B Johnson Fwy. The bartender attended to us and was great. The fried twinkies were not all what we expected them to be but still delicious. We also got jalapeño sausage link which was delicious, prime brisket which was fantastic.

The brisket pastrami was delicious and so were our drinks. I didn’t think they were terribly busy, so I was surprised it took about 15 min for someone to come take our drink order. It did seem like they were understaffed. The bar drinks took forever and our food actually came out before they did. They tried to drop our food off at the wrong table and we had to call them over. I asked about our drinks when they dropped off the food. The restaurant is on the smaller size, but again, the food and drinks were really good. As a heads up, the potato medley seemed to just be only sweet potatoes. I will say the staff was wonderful and kind despite the wait. They constantly checked in on us and were on top of it after we had our food. I’d visit this location again.
Excelente wedge salad, with a few jalapeños. It was just a hint of spice. I liked the spice. The brisket was spot on, good amount of smoke and tender. Service, you need to see Marc, just the right amount of attention. I look forward visiting the other location.
I LOVE the location, the whole area and the outdoor seating so gorgeous and great, and servers are so nice, kind, and helpful. Literally THE BEST. The food was great as well, the Jalapeño Sausage was so juicy, and well spiced, their BBQ Sauce complimented it well too, the bacon baked beans were great as well, however the pastrami was pretty dry, so I’d recommend the brisket instead. Also not mentioning their stellar pickles, which were such a great compliment. Overall a great experience!

The food was 10/10 but the service was a 1.. I called once to place my order no one answered.. I called again and there was no answer… good thing I know how to use ethnology or else they would have lost a sale. When I got there there were people but I had to wait a couple of minutes for the waiter to come to me when there was only 4 people… again the food is good but the service was not the best
My colleagues and I came in for lunch. The new restaurant and BAR, have a nice atmosphere and decor. There was an issue with my chopped brisket sandwich, which had nothing but brisket fat between the buns, literally. I took the entire meal to the manager, who was very apologetic and explained the chef was not at work and it had been prepared by the help? They promptly brought me a replacement meal. My colleagues meals ( both brisket burgers) were large portioned and they thoroughly enjoyed them. I may have been the one off. As with all new businesses, first impressions mean a lot, and because the management was so attentive to the issues, I give them credit for their professional ethics. I believe they offer a good menu and the bar looks quite well stocked. Well worth trying and making your own judgment. Mark Rogers.
Since it was within walking distance of the hotel, I decided to give it a try. The service was friendly. I ordered the two meats and one side combo. Sweet potato fries were great. The brisket had a nice taste, though it was a bit fattier than I prefer. Unfortunately, the ribs didn’t meet my expectations.
Gave this place 2 tries. First night ordered the pastrami. Got brisket instead. Brisket was good but not what I ordered. Server told me I was wrong and it was not brisket. Returned the next night with others. Same server told me I was actually correct the previous night. This time she brought me a sample of what they call pastrami. Everyone at my table agreed it was brisket. So I ordered turkey and potato salad. She brought me chicken and Cole slaw and told me I made the mistake. Everything I ate was good it was just nothing I ever ordered. Probably won’t return not because of quality of food just would like to get what I actually order.
I attended a birthday dinner here. I like that you can order from the Barrel & Bones or Black Agave menu. The service was very slow (ex: it took me over 30 minutes to get a refill on my water) and my fried okra was overdone and some were really hard (I had to send it back). The brisket sandwich was pretty good.
First time at this joint. Sat at the big high top. I had an old fashioned and the pitmaster sandwich. It was pretty good, bun was soft and a good match for the brisket, which was sliced not chopped (my request). IMO I would get the cheese sauce on the side next time, it sorta overwhelmed the sandwich. The fries were good. Service was solid. We will be back. 3.5 🌟 but trending up

$24.00 for two thin slices of turkey, a scoop of potatoes and two pickle slices. Not worth ordering from this place anymore. When they opened they were serving 4-6 slices of turkey and 2-3 scoops of potatoes with several pickles and onions. The food is good but no longer affordable and their phone line is disconnected.
I was excited about this place opening because it’s so good to live next to restaurants. I was extremely disappointed. The brisket was 60% fat. I got 2 servings and it was barely enough for 2 people. Me and my spouse got the half chicken which wasn’t edible because it was dry and charred. For the sides we got fried okra of which seemed okay , it didn’t have any flavor just tossed in paprika. The mac and cheese was very watery to the point you could see the cheese separating. We didn’t eat 80% of the food we got. The server seemed too busy to wait on us of which we never got his name. He never explained the menu with us being first time patrons of the restaurant. Atmosphere was okay not sure if we’ll return but I wish them much success.
Went in for late lunch, ordered the big text without sour cream. My baked potato was super undercooked ! They didn’t put any onion rings on it like it supposed to come with! The brisket was just okay. Kinda chewy And the bacon tasted bad. And again super undercooked so you can barely eat any of it even if you wanted too. Wouldn’t recommend especially for $20
Walked into Barrel and bones to get a loaded potato. Was forced to walk to a back area. Which was just a different restaurant. Had no idea if I was in the right place or not. Got the potato to go. When I got to my hotel (5 minutes away) my potato has no butter and was HARD. The only good thing about the food was the brisket. Hard to find a decent spot for a loaded potato

Had dinner this evening, was not happy at all. Entered the restaurant on the barbecue side, the waiter walked us over to the adjacent restaurant stating we can sit on this side and order either Mexican or barbecue. We waited 12 minutes for the waitress to reach our table. She did not greet us, her first statement to us, “do you want drinks”? She did not greet us with her name. Secondly, she brought us chips and salsa. I asked another waiter if we could have another salsa, his response was, “I’ll let your waitress know” but failed to tell her. We now put our order in. Food was brought out, it wasn’t hot and my daughter’s baked potato did not have all the items that stated it came with. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the food and service. Unfortunately, I will NOT be returning!!
My wife and I have stopped by for dinner but have only actually eaten there once: its opening weekend. That night the music was way too loud and the food was mid. We have stopped by since and there was no staff out front to greet or seat us so we left. Oh well. The good news is we found Bugatti Ristorante nearby which is outstanding!
Always shows ‘open’ for a new ‘River walk’ but on primes days as football Saturday you all are hit or miss!’ Go to the Carrollton location. Always legit and open! This Riverwalk is closed all the time! Who closes Saturday?
Ordered the full rack of spare ribs. Recieved a half rack of st. Louis style ribs absolutely smothered in a sweet sauce. Asked for the rest of my order with out the sauce on in. And I got the other half rack of st Louis style ribs I realized why they had to smother it in sauce. It was over cooked and dry as hell. Then was charged for the higher price for 2 half racks.
Today, Friday, Jan 2, 2026 we drove 20 minutes to find your restaurant closed because you don't respect your customers enough to update Google Maps for holiday hours. Today is not a holiday, but your closed. That is how bad you suck.
Worst first visit ever! We watched the story on Channel 11 with Doug Dunbar and Karen Borta,, and this seemed like a good new BBQ restaurant to try. So, we went the next day, Saturday, for dinner, to the location in Farmers Branch off LBJ Freeway, and what a mistake that was. We walked in, and what a strange set up for a restaurant. Only a few tables (maybe 6 or 8) in a seating area, a HUGE bar, and an area with a pool table or two, and a few tables around it. Then, a large very long table, with walls at each end, very strange, and I'm not sure who would sit there unless you had a large party of about 30 or more to fill the table. And, a large number of beautiful TVs everywhere, with the sound turned up so high that hearing loss would be a certainty. When the waiter sautered over, we could not hear him. We assumed he came to get our drink order, so we placed it and asked him to please have the volume turned down. There were only about 4 other people in the restaurant at the time (about 6 PM on a Saturday night, Texas-OU weekend). We think he said he would adjust the volume. When he brought the drinks, we again asked to have the volume turned down. He said he would check with the manager. After another 5-10 minutes, and him not returning and the volume remaining at an unsafe level, we decided that this restaurant was not interested in listening to customers, and not interested in our business, so we decided to leave. I went to the bar to pay for our drinks, asked again about the volume, and he said the manager said the volume would not change, but, of course, did not come over to tell us. Again, worst experience of customer service I have seen in a very long time. I think that you can find plenty of other restaurants with good food who care about customer satisfaction than to try this one. FOLLOWUP: The owner never came through with this offer to make it right. It's no surprise that they are no longer in business at this location.
At first you walk in and it’s really nice. Sat down to order and thought this place is a real hidden jem. Ordered the 2 meat with brisket and ribs. When it came the meat was cold…the manager came over and said she would like to make it right for me and send out another order. Great I thought , thank you …however when the waitress brought the order again it was So piping Hot that I couldn’t even pick up a rib. The plate was clearly microwaved for what had to have been like 5 min! Meat was brown with a nasty burnt flavor …ruined it… I feel this was done out of spite to the fact that I sent my dish back complaining of it being cold.. I will never go back to this place and I’m writing this review so that people know what they will do if you send an order back to them ..
Visited this location yesterday. Ordered the whiskey sour. Never had a whiskey sour that tasted as bad as this. You need to get a new bartender if this is how he makes a poplar cocktail such as whiskey sour. Didn't care to order anything else!
Well, one might say that my first mistake was ordering through DoorDash, but a girl has got to work and leaving for lunch just isn't possible all the time. So, I thought I'd give B&B a try. I ordered the Pork Belly Banh Mi sandwich with fried okra instead (which i did not get ) of fries. I also ordered their Pit Master sandwich, no bun, with baked beans. The fries I didn't ask for, were super greasy and hollow on the inside, I imagine the fried okra would have turned out the same. The baked beans had an awful aluminum taste on the back end. Never again! The brisket and jalapeno sausage was dry on the Pit master and the onion rings that came on top were also super greasy. I did however eat the Banh Mi sandwich. It's description on the menu was very much exaggerated because what I actually tasted was fair to Midland. There was no zing or zesty flavor coming from the slaw but the pork belly meat itself was ok. I was starving so I ate that. Everything else is at the bottom of the trash can. I doubt very much the experience would have been any different had I gone in for a sit down lunch. Very disappointed. Also, when I called to speak to someone about my order...you have to leave a message. No one answers. It's sad because I work across the highway at 635 & Luna and there are tons of people I work with. I would've loved to have shared a positive experience. I didn't think to take pictures until after I'd thrown most of it away.
My wife and I had a terrible experience here. From the start, the staff seemed confused about whether they could seat us outside, despite the patio being mostly empty. After some awkward back and forth, we were eventually seated by someone new—our original host vanished. The server, who seemed either high or totally untrained, couldn’t explain the menu (which is shared with Black Agave, the adjoining restaurant), took 10 minutes to bring chips and salsa, and never brought us silverware or napkins. I had to go get them myself from another employee. We ordered queso and guacamole—only the queso arrived, and for $13, it was shockingly bad. To make matters worse, the table behind us was so vulgar in their conversations that it ruined the evening entirely. The restaurant supposedly just opened in mid-April, but at 7:30 on a Saturday night, it was nearly empty—and now we understand why. I sincerely hope the general manager takes serious corrective action.
Avoid this location. Overcooked/tough pork belly burnt ends. One good Texas Twinkie and one that looks like it had a rough time. The server asked how the food was and I let her know how tough and terrible it was and she said she’d see what she could do. No price reduction or even bringing out a replacement that wasn’t trash. Couldn’t even finish half of it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Go to the location in Carrollton.

Only two other people on the restaurant but no staff on site to seat us. Bartender mixed up our pinot Grigio order for Chardonnay. The bbq is not at all Texas Bbq. It’s too pickled and tiny servings for the amount charged. $100 for 3 people who share a burger and two appetizers is WILD! We tried this restaurant a few months ago and same issue. We gave it a second try but will not be returning.
