Tip: The outdoor seating area with canal views is highly recommended, but be prepared for a potential wait.

Opinions de Boatyard Fort Lauderdale
The food was pretty good. Let's star off with the good stuff. Calimary was absolutely perfect. Can't say more then that. The stake was perfectly cooked. The chicken was great solid cook on this dish. The asparagus was neglected. The mash potatoes was decent but for the price I was expecting something a bit more elevated. They came out a bit cold and lumby. The sweet bread was unique. It was like eating dessert and it came out cold. Not sure if this was intended or the way it was supposed to come out. There were lots of little ant all over our table and booth as well and nats flying around. Our server was perfect. She knew exactly when to come by and when to chat. She made the experience a lot more enjoyable.
The Boatyard Restaurant was such a great experience from start to finish. The views right on the water are beautiful and really set the vibe for a fun, relaxing meal. We had the best drinks ever. The Nauti Rita, Minty Melon, and Sun Kissed were all amazing and super refreshing. Honestly, I would go back just for the cocktails alone. The East Coast oysters were the best I have ever had, so fresh and flavorful. For entrees, the chicken sandwich was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the blackened shrimp tacos were so good with great seasoning. My only small wish is that the taco shell held together a little better because it fell apart pretty quickly, but the flavor absolutely made up for it. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Boatyard and will absolutely be returning.
My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday celebration and had the BEST experience!! The food was amazing (we ordered the salmon and sea bass entrees), the ambiance was great both inside and outside on the patio, but most importantly the service was fantastic! Alejandro made the experience a 10/10. He checked in regularly, gave the best overview of the menu, and even chatted with the chef about making a mocktail that wasn’t on the menu. Will definitely come back and request him if we visit Fort Lauderdale again 🙂 he deserves a raise!!
Sunday afternoon, an epic view, delicious drink and extraordinary appetizer. Dropped by to see the remodel - lovely- and grab a quick bite. Sitting outside on a warm afternoon in January is the best time of year here. The artichoke with chive oil was perfection. Lots of birthday celebrations all around us. Great place for families and friends to gather.
Boatyard is a great spot to welcome your guests to Florida! It has a great atmosphere and different areas within the restaurant offer different vibes depending on your mood. We sat outside which has water views, some fire pits and couches to lounge at with your group. We found some seats at the outside bar with a nice view and lively atmosphere. We had a nice selection of snacks to choose from but ended up spitting an order of shrimp from the happy hour menu and the wagyu bolognese from the regular menu. The shrimp were large and delicious with an interesting presentation. The wagyu bolognese was a good size and even after we split it, we took home leftovers. The happy hour drink list was good and the wine choices were good. They have La Crema on the happy hour menu. The servers were not especially attentive and did not seem to be working well together. We actually waited a bit to order another beverage but decided to leave after waiting over 10 minutes. Overall, the service was fine, food was great, atmosphere is amazing and we have had many a fun evening here so we will definitely be back. I give it a thumbs up for bringing your people here for an intro to South Florida.
Francheska provided excellent service during our visit, and the food was outstanding. Every dish was delicious and well-prepared. Francheska had a great attitude and made us feel very welcomed from the moment we sat down. It made for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend this spot for both the hospitality and the cuisine.
Wonderful restaurant with great food. Seafood and steak are specialties on the menu. Their seafood Tower appetizer is amazing. The lobster fra diavolo, steak, and Chilean sea bass is out of this world. On the desert menu the bread pudding and the carrot cake are highly recommended. Service was very attentive and friendly.
Hands down one of my favorite spots in the area. The vibe is upscale but relaxed, and the waterfront location is unbeatable. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the cocktails are on point. Definitely order the Bimini Bread! Great service and a fantastic atmosphere for any occasion. 5/5 stars.
Such an amazing place, and I’m vegan/vegetarian! The cauliflower dish on the menu intrigued me because we have a place in Pittsburgh (The Lot, in Oakmont) with a similar dish that I absolutely love, and this was equally amazing, along with the Artichoke Chops with Basmati Rice. My BF loved his dishes too of Branzino and Peri-Peri Shrimp. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. We happened to go on a Thursday for happy hour AND ladies night, so the place was pretty busy and great for socializing, with the fire pits going and a DJ playing. Super great place to be and experience.
We booked the little private room for our holiday party, and everything was top-notch. I love the decoration. I took a delicious Old Fashioned for the cocktail and really enjoyed it. We took an impressive seafood tower with delicious crabs. We ordered so much, but I particularly enjoyed the 38-ounce Porthouse steak. Massive and tasty.
Yesterday my friend and I went to Boatyard for happy hour, which runs from 4 to 7 PM. The happy hour menu is definitely worth the price — the calamari was only $9 and came in a generous portion. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the oysters were sweet and fresh. The atmosphere was lovely as well. The only downside was that the place was super busy, and they seemed a bit short-staffed, so the service was slower than expected. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back!
Stopped for brunch before I had to catch a flight. Food, vibe, and service were fantastic. It was surprisingly not busy for a Saturday afternoon (around 1230). Lots of shaded places to sit and multiple bars around the resto. Shout out to our server Natalie who provided excellent service and recommendations. She stayed mindful of my flight but didn't rush us! Also gave some great tips about happy hour!
Honestly, I was surprised. I really liked the carbonara pasta with oysters. They didn’t have chocolate desserts; the best option is the key lime pie. The vanilla ice cream wasn’t good quality. It’s not a family place, more for dinners with friends or colleagues.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! We went for lunch on a Friday, the weather was perfect for the outdoor seating. Samantha made great drink recommendations. We also had the seafood tower. Everything was fresh and tasty. Can't wait to go back for dinner soon!
We enjoyed sitting at Boatyard's outside bar for a while and then moving to the inside bar. Great service at both. Had several cocktails, a couple apps and dinner. Check out the crystal-clear ice cube - nice! (Hey, Boatyard, feel free to use my pic in your ads - you're welcome!). Their Bimini bread is unreal - sweet, gooey and just SO good!! If you like brussel sprouts, these are some of the best you'll ever taste. Have eaten here before and will definitely visit again.
I recently went to Boatyard with my family for happy hour. It was a great experience. The shrimp and oysters were very fresh and tasty, although some of the oysters were room temp🤔. The truffle fries were nice and crispy, and the truffle wasn’t too overpowering. The calamari, fish dip, and Greek salad were also delicious. The atmosphere was great, with a fire pit, music, and the marina right next door. I also liked how there were TVs in the bathroom. I would definitely return.
Boatyard Restaurant on the canal — I loved it! The interior is modern with creative design touches. Service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the drinks were spot on. I especially enjoyed my non-alcoholic cocktail. The desserts were simply outstanding! The devil is in the details: bring some small bills if you head to the restroom. You’ll definitely want to tip the attendant who keeps everything immaculate. She even held my sleeves so I wouldn’t get them wet while washing my hands — how amazing is that?! 😅 Right across from the restaurant, there’s a large free parking lot, and valet service is also available — perfect if you’re wearing those heels meant only for looking fabulous, not for walking 😉👠
Really wanted to hate this place . seemed too bougie for me , but the food is 5 stars all the way. We got happy hour drinks and food at bar to start, crab claws fire, tacos fire , fries you can skip from HH, calamari fire . Now to dinner, you MUST sit outside it was beautiful right on water. Sam was our server she was amazing . We got the 1oz caviar , I mean I love caviar but for 85 you can skip but I love the presentation. Carpaccio will change your life it was so good . Want that as my final meal if I ever get on death row . Caesar salad you can skip. I got the 36 oz porterhouse , amazing presentation, amazing steak. Brussels sprouts may have been best I’ve ever had . Desserts , not great wouldn’t get again but 10/10 service , 10/10 food 100% would smash again
We had a great Friday happy hour at Boatyard! The architecture is beautiful and the views of all the boats on the water make it such a gorgeous spot. We tried a little bit of everything — oysters, mini garlic crab claws, ahi tacos, and artichokes — and everything was super good. Surprisingly affordable too, especially for a Friday night! We finished the evening with a bottle of wine out on the deck, which was the perfect way to end a great night. Highly recommend for a relaxing waterfront meal or happy hour!
The food here was amazing. I was just in town for one night, it was our anniversary I was looking for somewhere nice to eat. This place is not exactly what I had expected. It's a very upbeat party kind of atmosphere. Which is totally fine, I just didn't realize it. I was looking for something maybe a little more low key. I think if I was celebrating my birthday it would have been great but my anniversary maybe not ideal. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this place. I just want others that read this to have the right idea and not be caught off guard. I had a reservation, got there a few minutes early it's was very crowded, they got us to our table at our reservation time. As we sat and waited, there was a lot to observe. Women in scantily class clothing, men in full length white fur coats, people in jeans and flannels and beanies. All sorts of guests with their own ideas of the "smart casual" dress code. In addition to the crowd, the house music was reminiscent of a 90's rave. Soo...while the food was great and I'm sure there are loads of people that love this atmosphere, for those of us that don't love the party vibe at dinner, I just want to be honest. But the food was all fantastic. Loved the West Coast oysters.
Came for a birthday brunch with 10 guests and were very comfortably seated! SUCH a great atmosphere for weekend day drinking. Good tunes, very friendly service, food came out timely and tasted great (which can sometimes be an issue for such a large party). They have bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s ($25) and they are GENEROUS with the champagne. A lot of places kinda scam you with the bottomless but not here! The food was so so good. I got the shrimp and grits - very healthy portion of shrimp. But the best part is the ambiance - right by the water, very sunny and open. Had a blast and would love to return with a group!
I have to give a shout out to Marguerite and Stephanie, we had a small hiccup with my lady's birthday dinner and they fixed it and then some. They made our evening absolutely memorable and really provided some of the most outstanding dining customer service I've ever seen. The staff here is tremendous, the owner has done a great job of hiring. Highly recommend this place.
Loved the place. Came here after going to the convention center and it did not disappoint. From the hostess to our waitress was amazing. The venue itself is really pretty. We loved the menu and the name for some of the food and drink items. The food was incredible and the drinks were amazing. Recommend it for a nice view and amazing food and drinks.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate a birthday, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a stylish and comfortable setting. The food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. There was also a great selection of drinks to choose from, which made our celebration even more enjoyable. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff helped make the occasion feel extra special. Highly recommend for a night out or a special event!
Beautiful happy hour and dinner at the bar outside. Lovely breeze and top notch service. Yeison was my bartender/waiter and he went above and beyond. Yeison was super attentive to my food allergens for my dinner, made amazing drinks (Whiskey Creek and #Nosleep Espresso Tini), and was a fun and kind spirit to spend the evening with. Highly recommend. And ask for Yeison!
Boatyard never disappoints! We started with the tuna tacos and Bimini bread — both were delicious and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The peri peri shrimp had just the right amount of flavor, and the Wagyu Bucatini Bolognese was rich, hearty, and absolutely worth ordering. The atmosphere is beautiful and lively, especially being right on the water, and the service was friendly and attentive the entire time. It’s one of those places that feels special but still comfortable. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Fort Lauderdale — can’t wait to go back!
Company Happy Hour 🍸🍹 The burger sliders are so good 😊 8-9-25: Birthday Dinner First, let me say the two hostess in the front were so sweet and nice. My party was running a little late and they were very patient and accommodated. Our server Sean M was awesome. It was the best service I've received in a long time. Next I come back I only want him to service me/us. My drink was the Blowfish with the half chicken. The Bimini bread was so delicious 🤤 🍞 I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of the bread. Everyone ate it up so fast 😆
This place rocks. Great atmosphere, fun service, amazing food and drinks. We had dinner with my sister and her husband to celebrate their anniversary. We ordered a ton of food and drinks and couldn't believe how affordable the bill was at the end of the night. My sister got the large snow crab claws which were a very ample size. The calamari, bimini bread, carpaccio, and scallop appetizers were all incredible. We couldn't pass up the Ship-Faced Shelley drink because, well, that's my name!!! It was delish and so funny how it came in a ship with a tank of beverage. We had the absolute best time and highly recommend this restaurant.
We hosted our daughters baby shower at Boatyard Restaurant and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was absolutely exceptional from start to finish, and the event ran seamlessly thanks to the incredible staff. A very special thank-you to Katie, who went above and beyond in every way. She worked tirelessly throughout the event, was attentive to every detail, and made sure our guests felt welcomed and taken care of at all times. Her professionalism, kindness, and positive energy truly made the day extra special. We are so grateful to Katie and the entire Boatyard team for helping us create such a beautiful and memorable celebration. Highly recommend for any special event!
Boatyard was the perfect place for our night out with friends! The three of us enjoyed a delicious spread, starting with flavorful appetizers that set the tone. The pizza was perfectly baked, and the steak with its rich, savory sauce was absolutely top-notch. We paired it all with some creative cocktails that were as tasty as they were beautifully presented. The atmosphere was upscale yet relaxed, and the waterfront view added a special charm to the experience. The only downside was that the service felt a bit slow during the busy hours, but the food more than made up for it.
Was in town for an expo. Came here on three separate occasions. The food was incredible, the place - beautiful, the service - some of the best. On Thursday night, around 9:30pm, I was here for dinner but wasn’t aware that it was ladies night. It was a bit packed and the food took longer to get, but it wasn’t an obscene amount of time. For how delicious everything is, worth the wait. I can’t wait to be in town again so I can come back.
I was here for brunch with my friend and that’s a nice experience. I love the restaurant atmosphere, really Florida!!! We made the reservation to get the table outside but we ended up late for 10mins so… we still have nice tables next to the window anyway. Food was not too impressed tbh and not too expensive in my opinion. Service was great!
Everything about this place is phenomenal. They take reservations, view is very nice on the water, romantic even. The atmosphere was high end chic, sitting outside at night weather permitting is recommended. Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He even made my old fashioned special table side. The artichoke appetizer was scrumptious. My wife had the filet and shrimp surf and turf. The steak was cooked to temperature, served sliced, and the shrimp grilled, albeit with only two, the $55 price tag didn’t justify. My sea bass was phenomenal on a bed of uniquely prepared black rice pilaf. It was a steal at $45. We were too full for desert. Will definitely return next time down.
Absolutely beautiful spot right on the water. The ambiance is stunning — relaxed, elegant, and perfect for a great evening by the marina. The food was excellent, with some of the best fish we’ve had. The seabass and branzino were superb — incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. A big shout-out to Katarina, our waitress — she truly rocks. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and she made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. Fantastic food, beautiful waterfront setting, and outstanding service. A place we’ll definitely return to. 🌊🐟🍷
Dani … guys this is the server of the day .. I mean didn’t have to ask for anything talk about reading minds. She knew exactly what we needed when we needed. Came for a bday celebration and the vibe and atmosphere was the best. I normally don’t do reviews but today is the day. Great service cannot be ignored and DANI. Gets a 10/10 .. thanks Dani
This place came Recommend as I’m from out of town all the way from Montana and it did not disappoint one of the most fantastic places i have been to. Upon walking in we were greeted by John with a friendly warm smile who was happy to get us a table for 2 and our server. Giovanna was superb friendly and full of energy. Extremely knowledgeable in what is recommended and pairs with different selections. I would definitely recommend hands down from the atmosphere to the service friendly staff and amazing food and drinks you cant go wrong. I had the dry aged bone in KC strip with housemaid cognac sauce in basmati rice with the golden hour old-fashioned and a blow fish and to round it out the carrot cake.
I was at boatyard last week. I sat at the bar And drank & had some appetizers/ It was truly a terrific experience. Our bartender Alfredo was amazing, the service was great. He treated us like royalty. I Will definitely go back there.
My recent visit to the Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the lively and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a stylish and modern design, with both indoor and outdoor seating options that offer stunning views of the marina. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the incredible fresh seafood. The menu is a seafood lover's dream, featuring an extensive selection of dishes crafted with the day's freshest catches. I started with the raw bar, which was an absolute delight, followed by the grilled swordfish, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Every dish was a testament to the chef's culinary expertise and commitment to quality. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. Overall, Boatyard exceeded my expectations. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable seafood dining experience in Fort Lauderdale. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable meal, Boatyard is the perfect choice.
Stopped by for lunch after landed 🛬 in Fort Lauderdale, Boatyard was recommended by our friend living locally. We were greeted with a smile and walked to outside seating as requested. Came our server with menu with little information, we had to read and ordered from menu instead of special of the day. We ordered ceviche, stone crab claws, snow crab claws and 2 margaritas. Ceviche was perfect and crab claws were fresh and great quality, pricey but worth it! The drinks were pricy but weak, and how we wish if our server would smile a bit, it wasn’t even busy afternoon. But the breeze and view of the canal was priceless and so relaxing. All in all, good experience, will come back for dinner sitting outside next time. Thank you for your hospitality.
I came to Ft. Lauderdale for the first time for work! I stayed within walking distance of Boatyard! I sat at the middle bar and my bar tender Dani was the best! She made the whole night! She was so fun and helped me decipher the menu! I was not having the best day, but she gave the trip a totally diff vibe instantly! Genuine life chats. Can’t wait to come back again! Happy hour was great! See ya soon FL.
This restaurant made me fall in love with Fort Lauderdale! Boatyard represents the best of Fort Lauderdale, fresh seafood, amazing flavors, world-class hospitality, and impeccable ambiance. Anytime I'm entertaining someone who has never been to Fort Lauderdale, I take them to this restaurant and it has never disappointed! With gorgeous canal views, a menu where each dish shines, and must-have drinks — this culinary destination can't be beat! I highly recommend trying Boatyard for Dinner and then Brunch. Both WOW! For dinner I can't get enough of the Dry-Aged Branzino Filet, I always clear my plate. For brunch I love the Fresh Fish Sandwich. Oysters are always a must and Stone Crabs, when in season.
We always enjoy having a date night at Boatyard Restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy good company. The food is absolutely delicious, and the drinks are wonderful, complementing the meal beautifully. Every visit is an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for couples looking for a cozy and elegant night out in Fort Lauderdale!
Had dinner there last night to celebrate my MIL birthday. Party of 9 with 4 small kids! We were given a private room without request which worked out perfectly for our large group with little ones. Food was delicious BUT the service was what will bring us back! We had the absolute pleasure of having SHAMAR as our server! He was EXCELLENT! Have great recommendations! Helped us keep the kids happy with ordering and bringing out their meals first. Even brought us Pena and paper so the kids could keep entertained while the parents could talk and enjoy their meal! Went above and beyond! Definitely will be back!!! Sea Bass was delicious! Appetizers we highly recommend was the Ceviche, Octopus and the BIMINI BREAD!
So glad we decided to come here. We did the bottomless Sunday brunch and all the drinks were awesome. Jeff was our server and he made a great impression on our first experience in ft Lauderdale. He had great recommendations and we loved all the drinks and food. In fact the chicken sandwich was one of the best we ever had.
We often come here for Happy Hour and always enjoy it. The fries, calamari, and oysters are really good — fresh and tasty every time. Service is friendly and the vibe by the water is nice. The only downside is the music — really not great and doesn’t match the atmosphere. One tip: double-check your bill. A couple of times we noticed extra drinks added by mistake. Still, overall it’s a solid spot to relax with good food and drinks👌🏼
I had an incredible experience at The Boatyard Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service was beyond exceptional. I want to give a special shout-out to Mikayla, who truly made my birthday night unforgettable. Her professionalism, warm personality, and amazing attention to detail made the evening feel extra special. Thank you, Mikayla, for going above and beyond—it’s rare to find service like that. I highly recommend The Boatyard to anyone looking for great food, a stunning waterfront view, and first-class service. I’ll definitely be back!
I recently dined at The Boathouse and was blown away by both the quality of the food and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Two dishes really stood out: the codfish and the New York strip. Though I was disappointed about the Bronzino fish, but unfortunately it was overly cooked. The codfish was cooked to perfection — flaky, moist, and with a delicate buttery flavor that showcased its freshness. It came with a light seasoning that complemented rather than overpowered the fish, and the accompanying sides balanced the plate beautifully. The New York strip was equally impressive. Perfectly seared on the outside and tender inside, it was full of flavor and clearly prepared with great attention to detail. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the waterfront setting only added to the charm. Whether you’re a seafood lover or a steak enthusiast, The Boathouse delivers a memorable dining experience.
We had an amazing experience at Boatyard, and a big part of that was thanks to Jeff. He was hands down the best server we’ve had—attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel taken care of from start to finish. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, and Jeff elevated the entire experience with his professionalism and great energy. We’ll definitely be back and will ask for him again. Highly recommend! 💜💜
Our hotel recommended that we try the Boatyard for dinner. WOW! We loved it. In fact, we loved it so much we went back the next night too. We started night one with caesar, scallops escargot and bimini bread. The snapper, shrimp and filet mignon all had such a wonderful "grill" flavor and were perfectly cooked. I had the grouper the first night and it was delicious. My sister ordered it the second night and it was exactly the same. Shamar was our server both nights. He was fantastic. I've been working in the hospitality industry for 40 years and can be pretty critical :) but I was really blown away by how "spot on" he was. Ask for him if you want great service! The key lime dessert with baked Alaska topping was a fav too, we had it both times we were there. Hoping we make it back again on our next trip.
If I could give 10 stars for atmosphere, I would. This was such a cozy place inside. The dining room felt airy yet there were so many tables. Each table felt super private, though, and it wasn't too loud. There are tons of booths in different configurations, which I always love. This may be my favorite restaurant dining room atmosphere ever! Other restaurants should take notes. The food was amazing. The artichoke chops were one of the most unique dishes I've tried. They were so delicious! The bimini bread was outrageously good. It's a yeast bread with honey(?) soaked into the bottom. It comes with a honey butter as well. The loaf was easily enough for 4 people. The grouper picatta was a great variety of flavors and my coworker loved her clam chowder. Service was attentive and the place felt upscale without being pretentious. Casual dress is fine, too. They had a great outdoor seating area, but it was too hot when we were there. You definitely want to visit Boatyard!
Nice, But Tad Bit Expensive... Food was Delicious, waiter's paid attention to Details, Plenty of Open Space Parking & Valet... Reservation are a Must, as They have Small amounts of Walk-in Tables available...So be Prepared to Stand & Wait... There's an Open Bar close to Waiting area ...This Restaurant has Been around for Sometime...Nice place to Take a Date .. Enjoy
We love coming here and bring all of our friends who visit here first. The food is good, we love the atmosphere, but the service is what makes us come back. Brittany and team has always made us feel like VIP whenever we come in. It’s wonderful to have a place to go where you know they have staff like Brittany who remembers you, what you like and is genuinely good people! We love it! Thanks for always giving us a great experience!
I’m not saying I endorse day drinking… but when facing the reality of conference death by PowerPoint and buzzword salad, you may need a brunch cocktail (or 2) to face the day. We wandered into The Boathouse on a coupon (never a great omen) and left declaring it one of our top 10 meals. My wife’s truffle eggs and steak flipped the billing — the eggs were the star. My Reuben Benedict was pure brunch genius. Our attentive waitress nailed every cocktail recommendation — Sun Kissed, First Mate, and Whiskey Creek all perfection. Great food, great vibe, and just enough booze to face a day of mixing it up with “conference people
I had a great experience at Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale. The atmosphere is beautiful—right on the water with a relaxed but upscale vibe that makes it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly. The food was excellent. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the presentation was impressive without feeling overdone. The drinks were also well-made, and the cocktail selection paired perfectly with the waterfront setting. Overall, Boatyard combines great service, high-quality food, and a fantastic location. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Fort Lauderdale, and I’ll be coming back again.
Katarina provided exceptional service! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything at the table was perfect throughout the entire meal. Her menu knowledge and recommendations were excellent, and she created a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. Professional, efficient, and genuinely kind — exactly the kind of service that makes you want to come back again. We love Boatyard !!!
We had a wonderful experience at Boatyard, and a huge part of that was our waitress, Katerina. She was absolutely amazing — warm, attentive, and truly elevated our entire visit. Especially after a less-than-great first impression with the host, Katerina completely turned things around for us. The food was fantastic, and Kat’s recommendations were spot on. We especially loved the Bimini bread, and the dessert at the end was the perfect finish to the meal — so good. Everything came out beautifully and tasted just as great. Despite the initial hiccup at the door, Katerina’s service made us feel welcomed and taken care of, and that’s what we’ll remember most. Thank you for a great night — we can’t wait to come back and hope to see Kat again!
Excelente lugar. Todo perfecto y delicioso. Comida, ambiente, atención buena. Pase un cumple muy agradable en este lugar. Excellent place. Everything was perfect and delicious. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. I had a very pleasant birthday here.
Great location! Very nice decor and atmosphere! The food was good! The shrimp appetizer was delicious! The calamari was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. The bimini bread pudding was fantastic!
Was visiting for a conference and this restaurant was within walking distance of the Hilton and Omni hotels. Ordered the Artichoke chops. The sauce was ice cold which dropped the temperature of the flame roasted Articokes which I prefer hot. The sauce wasn't my favorite but the Artichokes were cooked to perfection. We also ordered the Red snapper which was cooked perfect and had great flavor. The other dish was a bolognese which tasted like chef boy-r-de, so stay clear of the red sauce items. Seafood is definitely their niche.
Great marina atmosphere with the yachts in the background. The Hudson Benedict and calamari were amazing. Service was a bit slow though, despite the restaurant being half empty. We had to get our waiter to come to us just about everytime. Probably just a one-off. Would still Come back and invite friends.
We were very pleased with the place. We went as two couples and really enjoyed the restaurant overall the drinks, the food, and the atmosphere were all excellent. My only observation is that this is the only restaurant I’ve visited where the main courses do not include any sides at all, not even a small salad; everything has to be added for an extra charge. I believe that, considering the type of restaurant it is and the awards it holds, they could at least include one side with the entrée. Other than that, everything was great. I would definitely come back.
We came to Boatyard with a large group for brunch. The boatyard met everyone’s expectations. The food was delicious the service was good. The restaurant had a nautical theme. There was plenty of seating indoor and out and the restaurant sits on a channel with tons of boats so the theme fits the area! We got multiple calls leading up to our reservation from the restaurant making sure we understood their cancellation policy which was fairly strict. I understand why but it was a bit much. We got octopus and a seafood tower as appetizers. It was a great way to try many different seafoods for people that were not sure what they liked. The octopus was delicious and fresh, albeit a little out there for some in our party that are not so sure about seafood yet. I don’t think I heard a single bad thing from our entire party about the smoked fish dip, ceviche, or mussels. For anyone that likes oysters both the west coast and east coast oysters were a hit. For our meals we had many different things swordfish, salads, French toast, shrimp, and many other items. Everything I tried was perfectly prepared, fresh, and delicious. The fish flaked perfectly but was not dry and had a delicious grilled flavor, The apple French toast was one of the most tasty French toasts I’ve had from a restaurant, and even the French fries were worth trying. Overall I would say if you’re near the draw bridge in Fort Lauderdale and need a great place to sit down and eat try out the boatyard you shouldn’t be disappointed!
Was in town for work and this place was recommended by my hotel. Beautiful location with nice seating right beside the water. You can watch the boats go by. Everybody was so nice and I was quickly seated even with it being so busy and had no reservations. My server was super sweet and very knowledgeable of the menu. I started with the artichoke hearts app which was really tasty and unique. I’ve never had anything like that before. Only down side was my plate came out lukewarm. I didn’t complain because I was so hungry. For my entree I got the lemon Parmesan cod. That was really good and not heavy. Tasted resale well. And the fish was super fresh! I def recommend this place for solo dining and even large groups!
Great venue and pleasant atmosphere. We came to celebrate our anniversary, after 1 of 1 motorsports recommended the place. Katarina our server was superb and always checked back on our table every 5 to 10 minutes. The weather was perfect. Our table was on the water front. Not much of a view; regardless, very pleasant. Our waitress was very pleasant our cups were never empty. The Bimini bread came out nice and warm. The Octopus was a hit with the sweetness and crunchy touch . The Sun Kissed presentation was very welcoming. As the “Birthday Cake” at the end. A nice sugestión will be to write the ocasión on the plate. “Happy Anniversary”, “New Car”, “New Job” or the like. You need to be careful the check can go from 0 to 200 faster than your ride. The food is superb, portions are on the small side. Yes theParmesan fries were excessively salty. katarina offer to exchange, claiming was the cheese; however, we do not like sending food back. As a connoisseur of Italian cheeses, saltines was not the cheese. Yes we felt the impact of the high sodium intake the next morning. The bathroom attendant was the highlight of the evening. A nice touch!!
Boatyard Review Boatyard is a great spot, and I would definitely recommend it. The food was excellent—prepared just the way we liked it—and they were very accommodating of my wife’s allergies, which we truly appreciated. The service was also top-notch, and the location added to the overall pleasant experience. Calamari was great, and the drink was very nice. Deserts was to die 4.
From the Northeast on vacation. Cool atmosphere, especially at night. Very obvious management was trying to cram as many people through the restaurant as possible. Servers were visibly overwhelmed. Our service was slow, of no fault of the server, I blame management for unrealistic expectation. Our bread was raw - I was told it wasn’t raw it was just the honey glaze …. It was raw. By the time our food came we almost weren’t hungry anymore after 2 hours of being there. For the price, food was extremely meh. My wife’s lobster was cooked in to oblivion. My pasta was ok. Also incredibly loud, very hard to converse. This place is definitely overhyped based on prior reviews.
UPDATE 4/10/25 - Tom took the initiative to reach out to me and was genuinely open to my feedback, making every effort to ensure that my experience wouldn’t be repeated. This action alone demonstrates their commitment to providing outstanding service. Considering the restaurant was quite busy during our visit, I’m optimistic that my experience was simply an isolated incident. ------ We had reservations for 2, sat outside by the water. Great view. Food was good but I expected more based on the reviews. The highlight was the peri shrimp appetizer, the rest blah. Service was mediocre, other than taking our order, speed was slow and while I don't like being bombarded, she barely checked on us. With all the better restaurant options in Fort Lauderdale, I won't come back.
We went here for my birthday brunch and arrived right as they opened. I asked for the bottomless mimosa, which was a great deal, however, they informed me that they were out of orange juice. I was confused as to why this would happen only minutes after opening on a busy Sunday brunch day. They told me to ask again later and I never did get the orange juice. The food itself, and the ambience outdoors was lovely, it was almost like being on a vacation. However, my mother’s French toast was cold, and when she asked them to fix the issue, instead of making a new one, they reheated it, which resulted in the cream being burnt. They brought her more cream, but it was the principle of the matter It was a great experience and great service and food overall, with several opportunities for improvement.
Beautiful restaurant. Appetizers were delicious. Beef Carpachio, Peri-Peri Shrimp, Grilled Octopus, and Escargo Scallops. Entrées were a little disappointing. The Bourbon Pork Chop was lacking some flavor, Surf and Turf was decent but garnish was chopped up asparagus and was a miss and the mash potatoes were not great. If you order the whole Grouper be prepared as it comes with head. Was off putting. Service was decent. She even removed the Grouper from the bill. We were a party of 6 and 18% Gratuity was included so be sure to check.
We were a bit disappointed with this place, especially since we had high hopes. We chose Boatyard for my partner’s 34th birthday on February 21st, and unfortunately, things got off to a rough start. The vibe and atmosphere are right, and the outdoor space is very nice. Unfortunately, valet was a mess. I ended up sitting in my car, just one row in, for quite a while before the valet attendant finally put up a sign saying valet wasn’t available. Thankfully, there is plenty of public parking, so we were able to find a spot shortly after. The food was just okay. The portions felt small for the prices and assumed calibar of the menu and some of the dishes were a bit strange. One dish arrived in a bowl sitting on rocks. I understand the idea of decorative presentation, but it was a little confusing and definitely not something you would want to make the mistake of trying to eat. The highlight of the night was dessert, which was a huge peice of cake, and we actually enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and generally professional, although our server seemed like he might have been new or still in training. He was a nice guy, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt. I'd advice you get rid of the bathroom attendant. It makes things awkward and honestly strange. Considering the drive from our hotel in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and the overall experience, we probably would not return.
The food was good, the service was a bit slow but it was Valentine's Day and we understood. When the bill arrived, they charged us separately for the drinks we ordered: 4 Casamigos Jalapeño for $72 and 2 Sun Kissed for $38 plus $24 for open liquor? We asked and they couldn't explain; supposedly it was for an ice cube that comes with a flower, which we didn't order, and because we ordered passion fruit Casamigos???????
We visited this restaurant on New Year’s Eve with our entire family, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience overall. The only positive part of the night was our server, who at least tried her best despite the situation. She is the only reason this review isn’t zero stars. We ordered burgers for the kids, and they arrived completely raw inside. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, instead of preparing a fresh burger, they took the same patty, burned it, and placed it back on the bun, which was extremely concerning. The steaks were also unacceptable. We ordered them medium-well, but they came out rare and very raw, with no flavor at all. Not even close to what was requested. Sadly, the only edible item we had was the Caesar salad. For a holiday evening and a family dinner, this was a major letdown. We expected basic food safety, proper cooking, and quality—none of which were delivered. We won’t be returning.
This was supposed to be a very special day for my best friend. She’s preparing for IVF, and we wanted to relax, enjoy good food, have a glass of wine, and spend some quiet time together. The food was excellent, and the service from our waiter was very good — we ordered food for around $350 for 2 ppl and left an additional $100 tip to thank him. But at the end of the evening, we were unexpectedly asked to leave because they said there was another reservation. It was very surprising and felt extremely disrespectful. We spent a long time choosing this restaurant for this important night, and we simply wanted to enjoy a peaceful dinner and talk. When I asked the host for the manager’s business card, she made a sour face, was rude, and told me this is private property and that I have to leave. It was truly upsetting — such a contrast between the great food and the awful way the situation was handled. It’s a shame, because the food was amazing, but after this experience, I will never come back. I really hope the manager reads this and thinks about how it feels for guests who come to celebrate something meaningful and are treated this way.
My experience at The Boatyard was unfortunately very disappointing. When we arrived, we initially had a table but later asked if we could sit outside instead. I explained to the waitress that I was fine closing out our bill so we could finish our appetizer and move, but she advised us to cancel our order and wait by the bar for an outdoor table, so I requested a manager. I spoke with the manager who was a male, and made an effort to assist which he informed us there was no outdoor availability and suggested we keep the original table. He also mentioned that our waitress was very good and said he would make sure our food came out quickly and hot. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The waitress was not very attentive, and the manager never followed up as promised. To make matters worse, another table that arrived well after us received their food before we did. Overall, the service and communication were very disappointing. I had expected a much better experience and left feeling frustrated after waiting so long with little attention from staff. Based on this visit, I would hesitate to return.
