I saw Fat Boyz as I was driving and doubled back an hour later. They did not disappoint. The Brisket was so good, exactly how I wanted it, tender and juicy. The rib tips were succulent just like I was back home in the Lou. I gotta hand it to Fat Boyz, felt like I was in the deep South for a minute, well at least my taste buds were. I will definitely be back and will be sure to tell my friends and fam to check them out! 10/10 BBQ Also, the friendliest folks I met all day, real southern hospitality!
Usually, I am the one taking care of people, but for the first time in a long time, I felt taken care of. My kids and I came here for dinner, and the food exceeded our expectations. The ribs were tender, and my son is strict about his yams; he gave excellent feedback on the taste and texture of the yams. The Mac and cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had. What really stood out to me was Ms. Christy telling me to sit and eat while I served my children their food. She and the other gentleman came over and helped me while I sat and ate peacefully. She even came over and kept them company while I took my time to enjoy my meal. Whether they knew it or not, they helped me catch my breath from such a busy week. They helped me pack everyone's food as I told them I was going to give my kids the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We had a wholesome experience❤️
Let me tell you. This restaurant blew our minds at how amazing it was. This is homemade southern cooking that would make your grandma proud. The atmosphere and employees were incredible. They really made my family feel like their family. I tried the 3 meat combo. Whoa! Couldn’t finish it. But definitely saved the rest for later.
The food was awesome and the size of the restaurant was clean. The music was great, had some old skool playing. The mac'n'cheese was good, the Brisket was great, staff was nice, brisket was great, pulled pork was good, Brisket was great, the sauces were tasty, and the Brisket, what can I say? The Brisket was great... Oh yeahhhhhhh, the brownies are awesome and good sized. Almost forgot cus the Brisket was so great..
Good food, friendly staff. The tri-tip sandwich was good, not amazing. I'll try something else next time but I will be back.

Awesome Experience. Great business, with good quality food and excellent customer service. The atmosphere is very laid back. You come in and place your order and seat yourself. The wait time for our order was fairly quick. The food was delicious and made fresh. The brisket, jerk chicken and burnt ends were perfect.
I was in Ft. Lauderdale for work and this was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I’d love to be at the house for Thanksgiving! Amazing!
★★★★★ Fat Boyz BBQ is hands down one of the best spots I’ve ever been to! The staff here is absolutely amazing—super friendly, attentive, and they make you feel right at home. And the brisket? Out of this world! Juicy, tender, and packed with flavor—it’s clear these guys know what they’re doing. Awesome food, awesome people, just an all-around incredible experience. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out! Can’t wait to come back for more.
Great little place for great tasting barbecue! Had the ribs, brisket and chicken with smoked mac and cheese and Cole slaw and it was amazing! Very flavorful and the sauces were great as well! If you go definitely try the hot and the Carolina! Staff was so friendly!

I was in Ft. Lauderdale for work and this was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I’d love to be at the house for Thanksgiving! Amazing!
It's been a while since I've eaten BBQ. My last foray was a trip to Mission BBQ several months ago when family came to town and wanted to eat there. Tasty food served with a smile, clean, fast service, and at reasonable prices. Mission BBQ is a restaurant chain that originated in Michigan to support first responders and opened its first restaurant on 9/11/11. It was a pleasant 'corporate' experience. I wanted to try something different though, which brought me to Fat Boyz BBQ on Cypress Creek Road. We felt like we found a hidden gem! I ordered the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs, Texas toast, and BBQ beans, my husband ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The restaurant was 'rustic' looking with simple decor - Military signs on the wall (it's veteran-owned), 'real' wood tables and chairs, a drink station, and the order counter. We quickly placed our order and found a table. It was a bit sticky but this added to the ambiance of being in a locals' restaurant that served yummy BBQ and offered patrons an array of BBQ sauces for every palate. (It also brought back fond memories of Old South BBQ in Clewiston when we stopped to eat there on our way to and from Lake Placid for summer vacation...sticky wood tables, smokey BBQ goodness, sauces, and all.) Our food was brought to us and it was amazing. Flavorful, moist southern BBQ with subtle seasoning, yummy hand-crafted baked beans, Texas toast, and we loved the Memphis Sweet sauce! As soon as the food was brought to our table, I dove into the ribs and then remembered to take a picture. Pictures don't do it justice. Kudos to the Pitmaster! You won't be disappointed if you pay them a visit and "Put a little South in your mouth!"

Went to the location on Federal near Broward Blvd. Nisha greeted with warmth and the service was prompt. I did pickup but decided to stay there bc it was such a clean, atmosphere and they were playing some jams. The ribs were slapping and they had a variety of sauces to choose from and fresh drinks that were delicious! I
The portion size was generous without being overwhelming, and the seasoning was spot-on — not too bold, but never bland. It struck that perfect middle ground between comfort and creativity, which is a rare find.
Omg the food was so delicious. There weren’t much people dining in but there were tons of pick up orders when we were there. The food was so freaking amazing. Every single thing here was delicious. I’ve never been too keen on collard greens but oh my god, these were amazing. My husband ordered more to take home w our left overs lol. The ribs are amaaaaazing. They were having an employee meeting while we were there and the dedication I heard that goes into preparing this bbq is insane. I joked to my husband that I felt like I was at a Ted Talk lol. Def recommend. Can’t wait to go back. Oh yea, we had the “itis” after eating and we’re just sitting there taking in all the flavor we had just enjoyed and one of their employees even checked on us to make sure we were good 😂 we thought that was nice of them lol. Defffff go here if you’re looking for savory bbq.

This was the juiciest pulled pork I've ever had! The burnt ends were the perfect combo of fat and meat in a dark crust. I'm not a fan of huge chunks of chewy fat, but these had fat that was fully rendered and just melted in your mouth! And you don't need it, but the sauces were delicious too! 🤩
I am from Georgia and know real BBQ. Fat Boyz is legit!! The smoke taste is solid. The side are go hum, but I do not get BBQ for the sides. They are my spot for BBQ & will blow them up to anyone who …

I'm from Texas and I was blown away by the burnt ends and moist brisket. The honey mustard and bbq sauce really bring it perfectly all together. 10 out of 10!
1st time coming here & wont definitely be the last! The beef rib was juicy & tender, smoked chicken was flavorful, juicy and moist. Sides of greens, yams and cornbread were phenomenal

Simply delicious. Amazing meat. If you love good meat this is a place to go. Be sure to come hungry. Impossible to stop eating.
food was very good. my husband and I went for lunch. we had the st louis ribs 9/10, brisket 9/10, jerk chicken 6/10 ( jerk chicken skin was good but the actual chicken needed a little more seasoning ). sides: mac and cheese 8/10 and baked beans 9/10. bbq sauce all good but our favorite was the Memphis bbq sauce. the restaurant is small but very clean.
My wife and I decided to visit this restaurant based on its excellent reviews. Overall, the food did not disappoint. I ordered the pulled pork, jerk chicken, and brisket, while my wife had the sausage, pulled pork, and ribs. The meats were flavorful and well-prepared. While my wife wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw, she enjoyed the rest of her meal. That said, we did find the prices to be on the higher side. Coming from Charleston, SC, we’re used to paying around $22 for a similar meal, compared to the $31 per plate here. A small drink was also $3.50, which seemed excessive. However, since we were trying something new and wanted to support a local, family-run business, we didn’t mind too much. What ultimately brought our rating from a 5-star to a 4-star was the service. The woman at the counter was noticeably unfriendly, and her demeanor detracted from the overall experience. On the other hand, the young man who assisted us later was polite and helpful. One policy we found confusing was the charge for BBQ sauce to-go. While dining in, sauce is available at every table with no limit. However, when we requested two small containers to take with us, we were charged an additional $1.50. It felt unreasonable, especially considering the sauce is freely available for dine-in customers. Although we still have a few days left in town, we likely won’t return. We spent close to $80 for two people, and while the food was great, poor service left a lasting impression. We prefer to spend our money where we feel genuinely welcomed. To be clear, this review shouldn’t take away from the fact that the food is delicious. Just be prepared for above-average prices and potentially lackluster customer service.

Great food great people. Perfect Burnt ends!! I met Drew while there and he was awesome!! Best BBQ in SOFLO! Very much like Texas BBQ!
Fat boyz bbq must be on diet for how little you get for $33. I wanted to give them a try since they are right down the road off US1 in Fort Lauderdale. \n\nI did the two meat combo with two sides a…
Great burnt ends and brisket! Cannot wait to be back for more! \nService is friendly and like back at home. Great KC smoke meat and more. \nCosy place and all guest are friendly
Way too expensive to be operating like a fast food chain. Order from a kiosk. Leave a tip even though the only service is one person carrying food to the table. First time here. Won't be back. Food…
The food was good. I've tasted better. The service was great. The people were nice. The ambiance was pretty good. No complaints
I really struggled with how to rate this one. I was in the area for the night staying at a nearby hotel. There isn’t a lot in the area and I didn’t want to uber so decided to walk over and give Fat Boyz a try. The interior is that of a good bbq place. Pretty basic, with some country chic decor, not pretentious or pretending to be a bbq place. When you walk in, you ring yourself up on the tablet, there’s no cashier. I placed my order and there was only 1 other person waiting. There were 2 people working. I was a little surprised that it took 20 minutes from the time I ordered until I received my food. The dining area was hot, couldn’t feel any air so was an uncomfortable wait. Right before my food was ready I was asked if I got my drink, which I had not so she gave me a cup. The drink machine was not working. I brought it to her attention and was told they must have tripped a breaker. I’m thinking this location wasn’t built to house an operation like this as there were extension cords everywhere so no wonder a breaker was tripped. I was halfway through my meal before they got it working again and I was able to get a drink. The breaker must also operate the AC as I finally felt air circulating once that was fixed. Now the food was very good. The pulled pork portion was huge. Didn’t come close to finishing it and since I was in a hotel I didn’t take the leftover. The Mac & cheese was cheesey and had a great flavor. The collard greens were cooked just right and had a great seasoning to them. They had a variety of sauces on the table and the ones I tried were very good and I kept alternating which ones I had because I couldn’t decided which I liked best. The Texas toast is an extra charge unless you pick it as one of your sides. At $3.50 for toast when most places include it, I was surprised. The meal plus toast and a drink was $30. So the food taste and portion size were the positives here. The price, wait time, temperature in the dining area and drink machine issues are what knocked it down a bit. As I started my review, the ambiance is perfectly fitting for a good, bbq restaurant but the price and wait was more equivalent to the more modern (and not as good) locations. Do I recommend? Maybe if you order ahead and take it to go because I won’t take away that the food was actually very good.

Got home late and no time to cook so we said hey there is a special uber eats bogo. We tried the 1/2 lb rib tips and i wish i had my scale. No way was 1/2 lb and a few pieces were more bone than me…
Nice people nice and clean place. \n\nThe burnt ends were "just ok" \n\nThe pulled pork same. \n\nDrove 30 mins . waited 35 mins for the food.
6:00 and it was empty. Me and a table with a young man about to go to medical school. A man that I assume to be the manager ignored me, literally did not acknowledge me or my business, and introduced…
Pretty disappointing. Ordered the Family Meal 2 meats. It seems as though everything including the sides and sauce was doused with Liquid Smoke. That’s all you can taste and it lingers in your mouth. The sauces just weren’t good, we aimed to just use the Rays sauce we have here. The Mac and cheese…usually the savior of meals….taste like krafts with added flour in the cheese, nothing saves it no ketchup no bbq sauce or anything. The collard cheese have a weird taste that I can’t explain, it’s not bad where you want to spit it out but it’s very confusing, no meat in the greens. The chicken ALL LIQUID SMOKE that’s it that’s the only flavor, it doesn’t even pair well with the sauces. I didn’t have the rib tips, my BF did “not good” he says. Ended up trashing the meal. Had high hopes bc the workers seemed friendly

Always found their prices to be on the high side but quality was always good so I tried it again today after years in this new location. Really disappointed. The brisket was microwaved to warm it up and to add insult to injury it was microwaved in the styrofoam container without even a parchment paper guard at the bottom cuz it was direct from the refrigerator. The microwaving didn't even keep it warm
horrible/disgusting. don't let the website pics fool u like they did me.not even the air fryer could bring it back to life.

If i could leave a lower rating I would. Not only did this place have the most bizarre atmosphere (people yelling in the background, no music) no one came out to help us place our order or greet …
Overpriced. My fault though for paying $15.99 for supposedly 1/2 pound of brisket. Very dry. Not very friendly service and you have to order from those tablet screens that prompt at end if you want…

Dry food and absolutely awful service. The place is not well kept and I question what the heck is going on in that kitchen
Service terrible, order on an iPad they don't even recognize you have an order. waited 15 minutes to tell me they were out of pulled pork. Unreal
Food was not great for the price , very small portions for a big price . Restaurants ambiance is military based but doesn't accept military discount.

I was visiting from out of state and was SUPER excited to try the burnt ends I saw on social media from this location. The first plate I got, the meat was the texture of wet firewood. I kindly asked them to remake it, and between those two sets, the guy cooking brought me a small piece and it was fairly moist so I said that it was fine, but the next plate they brought me was dry again. I took it back a second time and at this point asked for a refund, but they said they couldn’t refund me because I said the small piece that I tried was ok… The macaroni and cheese was okay, nothing special. They were very nice about everything, but the experience was overall disappointing.
I've been to the other locations and always been good. This location seems to have issues. On multiple occasions the drink machine just has carbonated water for certain soda, I've had brisket finely chopped and super dry, and today I had rubber brisket. The fact that they are willing to do this to customers is why they only get one star for this location. I also tried calling but no answer. Go to their Deerfield location, much better service and qaulity of food.
The amount of money spent and to have it delivered was horrible. The food was dried out over cooked. Plate was smashed and all the food was in the bag cause the plate had a hole in it. Tried calling Nono w picks up phone and I want a refund for this.
I rarely leave one-star reviews, but unfortunately this is one of those instances. Honestly, I don’t understand how this place has so many positive reviews—maybe they were bought, because my experience was awful. I ordered baby back ribs and brisket. What I received was nowhere close to proper baby back ribs—just thick, tough pieces of meat that didn’t come close to falling off the bone. Whoever is running this place clearly doesn’t understand what real BBQ should be. The owner should take a trip to Texas to learn what authentic baby back ribs actually taste like. On top of that, the bathroom had a malfunctioning light sensor, which made the visit even more unpleasant. My advice to anyone considering this place: save yourself the disappointment and go to your local Mission BBQ instead—you’ll get much better quality food. I’m actually planning to contact my credit card company to request a chargeback because the food I was served was that bad.
