First time at this restaurant. We passed by it regularly on Mission Avenue between 680 and 880. It’s a busy commute route and it’s easy to miss this wonderful, clean comfortable restaurant with great service and delicious food. The the sour cuisine from southwest of China is excellent when compared with similar restaurants around the Bay Area. The photo showed that 2 of us ate everything. If you like spicy food, you can get as much spicy stuff chilly as you like, but we non-spicy food and it tasted very delicious too. They don’t seem to be pork on he menu. So it’s a good restaurant for Muslim or people who are vegetarian they can eat fish highly recommend us please.
This place is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious—the fish is incredibly tender, and the vegetables are fresh, clean, and full of flavor. We usually have pretty high standards when it comes to rice, and theirs did not disappoint—it was excellent. What really stood out were the thoughtful extras: small dishes like fried peanuts, orange slices, and even drinks for the kids. We ended up ordering too much, but every dish was worth it. Great value for the price—definitely coming back!
Menu is slightly different than their other location in the Bay Area. Their squid appetizer is very very good and juicy. We got their numb and spicy soup with snakehead. It wasn’t too spicy nor numb, and the broth itself was drinkable.
Generally I am not a big fan of these meat based soup bowls but I thought of giving it a try as I got attracted with the signage offering appetizer and a dessert as compliment but for My shock I am surely disappointed as they offered 30 fried peanuts and at the end three slices of orange but a sweet one though. I suggest they should offer a dessert real one even it is small bowl. So don’t be excited about these two side offers as they are not worth. How ever coming to the main course soup bowl I choose basa fish bowl With side of rice and it was huge bowl of piping hot soup with cabbage and roots like Mushrooms which is amazing. Another surprise is the size of the bowl makes u feel like a family size but one inch of the base is just the thick bottom and still it’s good for a full meal for any one and they offer unlimited free rice which I didn’t know until the end. I could manage to finish half of it brought home the rest. Rey the manager who served was very helpful and he is actually amazing with how he guided me and suggested me and one last word is the taste is amazing and surely going back to spend 18$ for a huge bowl 🥣 of soup.
Really enjoyed dining at 酸小七酸菜鱼! The quiet and clean atmosphere made it a relaxing spot for lunch. It’s conveniently located in the Ranch 99 plaza in Warm Springs with plenty of parking. The staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Mango Jasmine Tea and the Tomato Basa Fish in sour broth (番茄巴沙鱼酸汤) — both were fresh and flavorful. The portion was huge!!!😋 They’re currently running a great promotion: get their signature Tomato Fish 酸菜鱼 for free with any $6+ purchase (limited time only). Definitely worth checking out!
Come to 酸小七 after Mission Peak hiking. It is very close, just 5 minutes drive. I orders Golden Sour & Spicy Soup with fish金汤酸菜鱼,it is very delicious. I ate all of them. It is very authentic. I will come back again
My boyfriend and I were craving something comforting and decided to try this place out for the first time. The owner was kind and helpful with questions. He recommended us to try Golden Sour and Spicy Snakehead Fish Combo and get the Yaxi Lemon Tea. Spicy Snakehead Fish Combo Generous portion of ingredients, sour and spicy, but not unbearable. Good soup to drink (we took home the extra and will be adding more ingredients for another meal😅) Yaxi Lemon Tea Creamy and frothy without being too sweet. A good compliment to pair with the meal.
The fish is very fresh and tasty. If you like rice, they can make you eat several bowls. We also ordered dry pot chicken, which tasted amazing, like a combination of fried chicken and dry pot, with crispy skin
The fish was incredibly fresh and tender, with flavors that were rich and delicious. The vegetables and side ingredients soaked up the broth perfectly- everything was so tasty!
The bright and inviting environment creates the perfect setting for a fantastic meal. We ordered the golden sour and spicy soup with snakehead fish combo. It was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right tanginess from the sour cabbage and pumpkin. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection, blending seamlessly with the rich broth. We also tried the tomato beef soup, which was a favorite among the kids—the beef was tender, and the soup paired perfectly with the chewy potato noodles. The best part is that we didn’t feel thirsty after the meal, a true sign of high-quality ingredients. The portions are generous, and the unlimited rice is a big plus, making it an excellent value for the price. For drinks, we had the Yashi Fragrance Lemon Tea, which was wonderfully refreshing with fresh lemon. Another drink we tried was the special milk green tea, which was equally delightful, featuring a unique and fragrant tea blend. The service is attentive, and the overall vibe is warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place.
yum! That sour fish soup was incredible, and unlimited rice!!!!Super fair! The place was spotless, the music was great, and the service was on point, they even checked to make sure everyone had enough to eat.
Very good fish soup with rice! Flavors were well balanced between savory, sweet, & sour. Salt & Pepper fried fish appetizer was great! The Yaxi Lemon tea is very good too.
Nice fish hotpot (酸菜魚) place. Rice and appetizers are free, I would recommend gold soup with black fish. It’s really spicy but with good taste.
The soup is delicious 😋 I came in here for lunch, I got a lunch special and was not disappointed. I will definitely keep coming back

I crave the sour fish soup here! I've tried the Golden and Lemon soups already. Both are delicious and I can't wait to try more of their choices. The service was very friendly and helpful. If you like Wei's Fish, you will love this restaurant!

My mom is a huge fan of soup and fish, so I had to bring her here to try it out, and it did not disappoint! We’ll definitely be coming back. The staff were kind, the golden sour and spicy basa fish was absolutely delicious, and they were very generous with both the fish and toppings. My mom and I loved it!
The portions are huge! Great broth and service was good and attentive. This was the perfect thing to eat with when the weather is cold. If you're looking for fish soup, this is the place!
Order a cup of Yaxi tea along with the golden spicy basa fish is a nice combination. It’s a little feast for my thousand year old tongue 😂 The staffs are very hospitably. The place is cozy and clean. Strongly recommend.
Very clean and bright vibes, the food taste amazing and nutritious no fishy smell, especially the rice amazing free for refill .I advise to have a try ,but the 2 serving size not enough for 2 people

Horrible experience. I would give zero stars if I could. This is a Chinese chain that runs on venture capital and hype instead of quality and service The service was so slow on a Friday afternoon. There were only 3 tables and the couple next to me couldn't get service for 10 minutes because the only waiter (not sure if he's the owner) kept chatting with another table in Chinese. They didn't bring me any water until I asked. Their menu is outdated (and the poster outside) as the promotion combo ended months ago but they kept it in the menu. The food was bland and had quality control problems. Ordered the signature dish pickle fish and it got a dead insect in the soup. Asked them to change it. The portion looked big but it's a disguise as the bowl has raised bottom. I got some violent food poisoning from this place, went to the bathroom 5 times that afternoon. I had to rush to the restroom in 99 ranch next door literally 10 minutes after eating here. Go find somewhere else there's plenty of better pickle fish places nearby. Not worth your money at all.
The soups wasn't for us. We ordered 2 of the combo specials: 1 Lemon Green Peppercorns flavor Snakehead fish soup with Jasmine milk tea 1 Litsea flavor Snakehead fish soup with Yaxi fragrance Lemon tea. The soups came in large bowls, which made it look like you were getting a lot but you don't. Unlike pho bowls, these soup bowls were shallow. We found the circumference of the bowls took up a lot of the table space and made our dining experience feel constricted. As for flavor, the Lemon Green Peppercorn soup didn't taste lemony at all. This soup tasted bland compared to Avgolemono (which is a Greek Lemon soup). As for the Litsea soup, it tasted like a Sichuan pepper soup, it even had the same mouth numbing feeling. Even though we ordered fish chucks in our soup, we both got little fish fillets (smaller than Nigri sushi). Lastly, the metal cups had a mildew smell to them, which made the water undrinkable. After paying for our meal, we let the waiter know that the cups had a mildew smell. They checked all of the cups that were neatly stacked on the counter and they agreed that the cups did have an unpleasant odor to them.
