L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

Awesome chill spot delicious food my wife absolutely obsessed and if she had her way she’d eat there everyday the wait time is excellent and great employees super nice and friendly!

When I first went in, the restaurant felt unique, different, and best of all exotic so it does not feel monotonous. When I ordered the Chicken Katsu Sandwich, it was the most amazing sandwich than any Fast-Food restaurant I would order. This alone makes me want to come visit again and try out the different menu items that are just so eye-catching for me to try out once. The Staff were pretty nice and chill when interacting with me and being hospitable. I highly recommend going to this place rather than any of the traditional fast-food places, if not for trying it out once, the food tastes amazing and fulfilling while at the same time not being heavy.

So I haven't been to L&L in over 2 years because of bad food quality and bad service. I decided to try L&L again this week and to my suprise my they answered the phone immediately. I orderd the Katsu plate and Garlic Chicken and it was just like I rememberd, fresh and flavourful. I tried them agian today to make sure it wasn't a fluke and I can honestly tell you it was not. Its seems that L&L Hawaiian as turned things around for the better. Good job staff at L&L, keep up the good work.

Chicken katsu is the best in fresno. Call in your order ahead regardless if pick up or dine in..its hot and fresh cook..no heat lamps. Simple place to eat..nothing fancy. Neighborhood restaurant.

Always the best👌🏻 I grew up in Hawaii and had L&L all the time and this place never disappoints. Like anywhere I go. There’s locations in Utah and everywhere I go, they always make the food so amazing and hot and flavorful.

Idk if they have new staff or manager but went yesterday and I couldn't even eat my chicken. It tasted like the oil they cooked it in was very old and was due to be changed. Very disappointed. Also the Mac salad was a bit off in taste as well as watery. Only was able to eat the rice. Definitely will be trying a new Hawaiin place next time.

Small place to dine in but good food

There are definitely nicer L&L's across the country than this one, but it's in Fresno so I must take that into account. Also, the dude behind the counter offered a free katsu-musubi, so what can i really say then?

Food was okay but again another restaurant that charged me extra for substituting extra French fries for another side that they offer and did not tell me there would be an extra charge. Bathroom was gross. Toilet didn't flush and filthy Toilet paper overflowing out of garbage can that you are not allowed to put in Toilet.

Decent place, can't believe I had never been here in all my years of living in Fresno. Good place for a quick bite. I ordered a chicken katsu bowl and plate. Both were decent offerings. Price is a little bit above average.

My son really enjoyed his burger. He also enjoyed the fact that he was very quiet.

Could have sworn store used to be bigger. How tip top cafe good. Not food truck across from Costco in Maui good. But if you are in fresno and not planning a trip to the islands anytime soon 😞 yeah. Will put a smile on your face.

Food was good. Different than the norm. The katsu chicken and sauce was good. Pot stickers were ok too. Probably won't go back. The drive is to far from my area.

The food was ok. Very skinny lumpia and not much but a paste in them. Fish was overcooked, but beef and chicken were ok. Mac salad was bland. Had good service and was pretty quick.

Started coming here a year ago because I had moved down the street. First time was amazing, the staff was friendly, food was amazing, and always loved the reggae music playing. Really had a Hawaiian feeling to the place. But as the months went by, quality of the food and customer service started swirling down. I went today and the cashier looked like he hated his job. Not one smile was given and voice was low. The Musubi were good but could have been better. But I also ordered a side a macaroni salad, it was horrible. Looked like it was left out all day, the macaroni wasn't fully cooked (still had a crunch to it), and didn't get as much as I use to. And to top it off, there was no music. It was dead silent in there (can here other people there chewing their food and it felt awkward just waiting for my food. Hopefully they hire new friendly faces and at least leave the music on for people to enjoy listening to while they wait for their order Now they're just a place that I use to know.

The food was ok. There is no AC! This place was so hot I felt so bad for the employees having to work here. We had to get our food to go as it was too hot to eat in there. The payment system asked me how I wanted my receipt and I pressed print. When I pressed print it popped open the cash register drawer. There was no employee at the register so that made a very weird experience. When they realized it was open I had to explain to them I did not do it.

I worked fast food for a few years. I understand how overwhelming it can be. Ordered 12/4/21 about 6:30pm. Got home and noticed raw chicken. The cook had great customer service but was completely overwhelmed. I called this location to let them know about the undercooked chicken. I didn’t want anything in return. Unfortunately the young girl with the blonde hair working the register this day just hung up the phone once she picked up as I told her the issue.. Im just looking out for you guys. Although, it is more so mismanagement. Cooperate manager: You need to have 2 cooks on these busy nights as soon as they get a chance. Or get yourself down there and start making things right when you can.

This "bbq" plate was an absolute disappointment. At first it doesn’t look that bad so I decided to go ahead and eat it. As soon as I bit into it I tasted nothing but burned meat, EVERYTHING WAS BURNED, the sauce was disgusting and the macaroni was just terrible. Really disappointed with this L&L

I've been going to this L&L for years. something changed! not sure it's management or new employees. I order my spam misubi and there was barely any spam. I wonder if they make rice misubi?

I used to like coming here, even ordering takeout. But not anymore. I never ate their macaroni salad and didn't like it anyway. But I liked their chicken and their barbecue. The last few times I ate there, they were short-handed, and there was only one cook. She rushed to cook the food and you can tell when meat is overcooked. It is dry and always tastes terrible. Attitudes seem to change. The meat was so dry it was inedible. They wouldn't give me my money back because I had already eaten a small portion of the food. I thought that was pretty ridiculous since the food was horrible. So I sat and waited another 45 minutes for them to remake my food. I will never go back.

Wow! I guess I didn’t realize that Ono Hawaiian BBQ was so much better until I tasted L& L. I spent 60$ on a delivery with this food and it the meat was weird and didn’t taste fresh at all. I will never order from here again. Even the macaroni wasn’t as good. I’m sad about wasting money when I could of paid the same and got good food at Ono.

A couple years ago I use to love eating here up until last year I think there are new owners. I went back for the 1st time in months and the cook was taking orders on the phone & touching the chicken katsu with his hands at the same time all while it looked like he was sweating . Ruined my experience even wanting to eat here! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR EMPLOYEES WEAR GLOVES WHILE HANDLING FOOD!

Must be new owners, not great. The food tastes completely different than it used to I'm very disappointed in the teriyaki sauce because it is very watered down and not half as thick as it used to be, just taste different all together, hope they fix that. Overall has always been great food otherwise also miss the veggies.

I was promised it would get better and offered a free revisit. 3 years later And now they are paying for 5 star reviews, people are getting sick from the food, and it's filthier than ever. Shut this place down.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu Mini and some Chicken Lumpia. The Chicken Katsu was seriously undercooked and soggy. The Lumpia were soggy as well and didn't taste fresh, the sauce that was included had a weird taste to it. The mac salad was flavorless and watery, I didn't even eat it. Very disappointed and will not be ordering from you guys again.

I ordered a garlic chicken mini and ended up with chopped up Katsu chicken with no sauce red peppers or green onions. It was very dry and seemed like it had been sitting around for a while. I couldn’t even eat it but the cat seemed like it. Paid $.50 extra for veggies instead of carbs and ended up with a tasteless frozen veggie mix. My son’s plate was lacking flavor. Even their macaroni salad was subpar. Would not recommend if you want good Hawaiian influenced dishes. Still pissed that they got my order wrong and I couldn’t even enjoy what they did give me.🤬

It’s a serious health concern for me, not a preference. After struggling for several minutes to explain what I meant, I was eventually told the shrimp is cooked in a separate fryer. That was reassuring — until I watched them cook my girlfriend’s chicken in the same fryer he had just claimed was only for shrimp. That completely undermined what he told us and put my health at risk. I ordered beef, which was cooked on a flat-top stove, so that part seemed okay. Later, when an English-speaking worker arrived, I asked him again about the fryers. This time, I was told the truth: shrimp and chicken are cooked in the same fryer. I pointed out that might violate California food safety regulations, and he told me it was fine because they “have a disclaimer.” Then, with a lot of attitude, he told me to “look it up.” Well, I did. Under the California Retail Food Code (CalCode), Section 113986, restaurants are required to prevent cross-contamination, especially when it comes to known allergens like shellfish. This law specifically mandates using separate equipment or preparing food in ways that avoid contaminating one food with another. It’s not just about cleanliness — it’s about preventing serious allergic reactions. A disclaimer does not override this responsibility. The food itself was okay, but the place felt run-down, and the overall customer service — especially around a legitimate health concern — was careless and dismissive. If you have any kind of food allergy, I’d strongly suggest being cautious here. I definitely won’t be returning.
