Opinions de Pita Hot Mediterranean Grill Fullerton
Korean family & friends get introduced to Middle Eastern cuisine! As a fan of Pita Hot and their consistency in absolute flavorful and juicy meat, plus one of the best baba ganoush in town, I knew I had to use them for catering for my mom’s 70th birthday. Everyone raved about the meat, and were impressed by the dips they’ve never tried before. Koreans are picky about their food, especially older ones, and I was pleased to learn that their bellies were full of healthy food, and they were more than satisfied. Thank you Amir for accommodating our palate to make the shrimp with low sodium! Dad says he can’t wait to try your other meats like lamb!
Delicious food, but long wait if you want to just show up and order. Phone often busy. Best way to order is online, then just show up 25 minutes later to pickup your food. I love their chicken shawarma with hummus and cucumber sauce. It comes with rice. Their Tabbouleh is delicious too.
Before coming here, call in to place your order. There is a 20 minute wait time depending on what you order because the meats are made to order (probably to reduce food waste and have fresh food). That aside, this is one of my top pics for Mediterranean food. The pricing is very reasonable at under $8 for a plate with rice, choice of meat, choice of 2 sides, and pita bread. I have never seen a Mediterranean place with better pricing. Most importantly, food quality is still great. From the Mediterranean salad to the hummus, rice, and meats, it's worth the wait! I'd recommend a plate rather than a wrap because you get more for your buck. The place itself is authentic and has grown over the years. I assume the cook (elderly man with a white hat) and the older lady are the owners. Great family owned restaurant, would recommend.
The food here is amazing. The price is right. The wait is a little long so if you don’t want to wait 20 minutes just order first by phone. I highly recommend the lamp chop and the shrimp. Absolutely delicious. I’ve been here 4x in the last 9 days.
Great place! FOOD WAS THE BEST! And met the cook there George i believe his name was very nice person!
I truly enjoy visiting this location. Ordered beef and chicken swarma with humus and rice. Portions are truly plenty for two meals. This is an ideal place to order a meal for a large family. I just found out they serve breakfast 😋. Definitely, I will need to check it out.
Love this place. I’ve catered food from this place, and everyone always loves the sides and sauces. During the pandemic, it was so nice to order from here, everyone gets their individual boxes to eat from, and we sit in the backyard socially distanced and don’t have to worry about cross contamination. You eat what you want, some take leftovers home or easy cleanup in the trash. They are always busy, so I call ahead and expect 20-45 minutes wait depending on what time and day it is. Busy means the sides are always fresh, and this style of food appeals to even my older Asian family members. The hummus is so creamy, and the tabbouleh is full of garlicky goodness. Don’t forget the tahini and garlic sauces! I can never decide which I like better!
the chicken schwarma was excellent, so tasty. The addition of the sumac onions, humus and salad instead of rice for you diabetics was perfect.
We Love this place as it’s reasonable prices and the salads are amazingly great. We love the red cabbage and cucumbers in yougart also best hummus. The Rice is amazingly delicious also. Wish I wasn’t diabetic I’d have eaten another pita hahaha we love the Lamb they give good size portion for two kebabs about 8 large pieces of lamb made medium well and very great falafels
Th staff here are excellent. First time here and they recommended the beef kabob plate. It was so good and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this food
Great Mediterranean place. I come back here when I visit my parents even though it's out of the way. Great price and great food. I typically get the chicken kabob plate or the beef kabob plate. Their chicken is okay (a bit dry), but their beef is great. Order online or call ahead since the wait can get a bit long (because it's fresh).
We were in the mood for pitas and saw this place was close to our hotel. We checked out the google reviews and headed over. As we walked in, a lady (I think the owner) tended to another customer's order. We placed our order and sat down. Side note: They don't allow you to get your fountain drinks; they have to do it for you by reaching over the counter. :( The food took longer than I would have liked. However, it was full of flavor and good portions. We will be back again.
I asked around for local foodie spots and someone told me this was a place to try. They were right, the food here is great! Big portions too almost like hawaiian bbq portions. My girlfriend and I ordered the two meat combo and it was enough for lunch without being too full. I would recommend ordering online or ahead because the first time we went, even though you can't tell too much from the outside they did a lot of business, took about 20-25 min to get food. Also ordering online/phone may be slightly easier since the counter is so close to the kitchen the noise gets a little muffled by busy cooking. Will definitely come back to try more.
Best shawarma, fresh and delicious. Better than at some fancy expensive places. Kabobs little bit dry but still taste good. Big portions and affordable price. "Turkish salad" big question as I've been in Turkey many times differently not how it's supposed to be.
Great food great service prices are perfect. Large portions and everything is fresh. Busy so you might have a few minutes to talk while you wait. Worth the cravings... you will want to return often because it is so delicious. The staff is consistent. No changes to the team since I started visiting in 2015.
If you're looking for authentic Middle Eastern food at reasonable prices this is THE place. A family-run business serving delicious food prepared fresh. They're kebabs and falafel plates are very good and my favorites. If you like lamb, their lamb kebab is the one to get, never overcooked and always perfect. As for sides the hummus and moutabal is as authentic and delicious as it gets. They get very busy so order ahead on their app. We eat there at least once a week.
I love Pita Hot! My cousin put me on and ever since my boyfriend and I have never found another Mediterranean restaurant that comes close to being as great as Pita Hot. You can tell they work hard to give the customers the best quality possible. They absolutely deserve 5 stars!!
Not alot of good Mediterranean spots around but this one is good and worth a visit.
Was my first time ,,, but I love it,, taste is great,,, portion of the food good enough ,,,, they have a lot of options to choose from,,, The only thing is the waiting time ,,, at least 15/20 minutes before you get your order,,,
Been coming here for years Some of the best food in fullerton definitely recommended to anyone. Love there lamb and steak so good and savory and very good for the price you enough food to enjoy for 2 days and owner is always welcoming.
The food is excellent and delicious. Plenty of food, you cam share a combo plate. Family business.....very welcoming. The prices are great.
Pita Hot is consistently excellent. I can always expect my food to taste the same every time, & the owners are awesome. It can get a bit hectic in there, but the two owners rum the entire kitchen with little help from open to close. They always make me feel welcome, & their hard work & dedication is admirable. It's great food, & even better people making it. That's something I can get behind 100% of the time. Don't sleep on Pita Hot. Oh, & be sure to get extra garlic sauce. That stuff is like sweet nectar from heaven.
Loved this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised about the taste and quality of the food. From the outside, it just looks like an ordinary fast food place but it's not fast food. Sometimes, you have to wait 15-20 minutes for your food so don't expect to get your food right away. They have tables outside. The tables are actually nice stone tables and if it's sunny, the staff will put a parasol. Everything tastes fresh. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for good Mediterranean food.
The food was made to order so there was a wait but definitely worth it. The chicken shawarma, beef skewers, hummus, rice, fries, and pita were all delicious! The workers were very friendly. Overall a great experience with delicious food!
This place has great mediterranean food Everything was definitely coming back here.
Outstanding food for a good price! Portions are very filling. The lamp chops were cooked to perfection. The chicken kabobs were super juicy and not dry, like most places. Food is cooked to order so it's not fast food fast but well worth the wait. We'll be coming back here for all of our Mediterranean cravings. Thank you!!
Pita Hot is a casual family restaurant in Fullerton, California, serving up delicious Israeli cuisine cooked fresh to order by the owner himself. The beef kebab plate is a must-try, with a generous portion of rice and your pick of two sides. I highly recommend the hummus, baba ganoush, and Mediterranean salad. The wrap sandwiches are also excellent, especially the chicken one. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family and friends.
Excellent food. Reasonable prices. They do remind you it can take 20 minutes for them to cook your food. Be patient this not Mctomains. Food was excellent. Lamb was perfect. Excellent moutabal great rice pilaf. Home style cooking flavorful and fresh. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back. Staff was very friendly and the garlic sauce was awesome. 2026 update. Food is still fantastic. Still a bargain very tasty well worth it.
A little wait but worth it. I would call ahead but it's definitely worth it. Employees were very engaged and welcoming. Will definitely tell everyone who is in the area. Chicken swarma plate...one of the best I've had. Great hummus too. Thank you guys.
Loved my first time eating here, yesterday. Although I've been here a couple times before, it was always just to get something for my wife. I always opted for poke or wings. Mediterranean food isn't something I've ever really craved, but I decided to get a beef kabob plate with rice, hummus, pita bread (obviously), and suman onions, and it.. was.. amazing. Will surely come back soon.
Place is so damn good. Glad I stopped and grabbed some lunch. Will be coming back more often
Saw this on instagram and It looked good to try so I decided to give it a shot. I used to get Mediterranean food else where but I didn’t know Mediterranean food can be better until I tried this. I’m impressed First of all expect a 20 minutes wait since they cook it from scratch. However you can taste the difference. I ordered the 3 portion plate with shrimp chicken and lamb. All three meats were very juicy and flavorful. Rice was out of this world never had anything like this before Hummus was super different than any hummus I tried. As of today I can say this is my new favorite Mediterranean spot in all of oc!
This was my first time and this will not be my last. The gentleman that help me was very nice . The food was amazing!!!!
My nephew graduated from Cal State Fullerton The best thing from his graduation was when he introduced me to Pita Hot 🤣 Pita Hot become our family favorites The quality is very consistent since the day I dine, which is 10 years ago!! It’s owned and run by husband and wife The husband cooks a perfection! The steak kabob and lamb chops are always perfect Chicken shawarma is delicious Falafel is made to order. They are crispy on the outside and soft inside We just can’t get enough of their cooking I recommend this place to all of you!
Pita Hot is my go-to spot for fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food in Fullerton. The Chicken Shawarma Plate is a standout—tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Portions are generous and the hummus is super creamy. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, Food is made fresh, so there can be a bit of a wait—ordering ahead is a smart move. Clean space, solid indoor and outdoor seating, and consistently great food. Highly recommend!
I always wanted to give This place a try and I finally did tonight. I got the two portion plate, one beef and chicken with rice, the hummus red cabbage and on the side of Mediterranean salad. Juicy beef, tender chicken, and the Rice was incredible. Staff was friendly and Before I walked out I decided to try the tiramisu cloud, which was unreal loved it ! I’ll be back!
Best shawarma in California. The food was amazing delicious. The restaurant had beautiful chairs. They also had another beautiful outside tables. And it’s been a while I entered a luxury restroom inside a restaurant. I’ll definitely recommend it because their prices was cheap as will. I hope them the best.
There’s no second best to Pitahot. This place hands down has the best (consistent) food quality every time! You’ll never be disappointed. Their beef is easily the best you’ll ever have at a Mediterranean restaurant. ( tip to save time, order ahead on the phone or website )
Got recommended to me by some friends and let me tell you it’s fire ! Beef kabob with rice hummus red cabbage is the business! Dip with garlic and green hot sauce and thank me later ! Also they have some unique coffee monkey madness was sooo good ! I’ll be back definitely
I hadn't even tasted the food and I was already loving the place and the menu. Excellent customer service, reasonable prices, and clean interiors... I had to try the baba ganoujm before leaving this review and yes 5stars, all the right flavors, after taste and authenticity . Highly recommend if you are vegetarian too
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Their portion sizes are huge, the food is always incredible, their meat is always juicy and tender, their rice is so good, and their homemade hummus is to die for (I’ll just get a container of it to eat itself). Please do yourself a favor and stop here for food, it’s delicious!
Pita Hot is the best. They care about their customers and food is fresh and hot. Ameer, hes so nice and made my Tiramisu Cloud Coffee and it was so good. Food is great, great portions for the price, definitely will be seing me again.
I've been coming here for 9 years now. It is THE BEST CHICKEN SHAWARMA, RICE AND HUMMUS you will ever have. I get that plate alongside red cabbage. Chefs kiss
What an amazing food, great customer service Very clean highly recommended
Everything is based on Amir's mediterranean family recipes. The place was packed and a continual stream of customers kept coming in. Most had called their order in because it does take a minute because everything is cooked fresh. One customer took out 2 or 3 trays for a party. The wraps are made with pita bread and comes with their fantastic tahini sauce. We had chicken and lamb, Fries are large cut, freshly cooked, very tasty, huge portions and very hot. Let them cool awhile and they become much crisper. Worth it. We'll be back soon.
The food was outstanding as always! The beef was cooked even better than what you’d get at a steakhouse, and the rice blended with olive oil was incredibly flavorful!
Really good amount of food for what you pay for. Couldn't believe how good the shawarma was. My wife ordered the falafel with cucumber yogurt salad which was good to put on the shawarma. Large amount of seating. Popular with college crowd, food takes a bit of time to be ready but it is so worth it.
Absolutely my favorite spot for Mediterranean food!! Now this isn't fast food... this is cooked and prepared as ordered! They use high quality Ingredients and meat cuts. Price matches quality. I've never had 1 bad dish here, everything is good!! I usually get chicken, steak and lamb kabob. I can't say enough about the food. Oh best eaten fresh!!
Their food was really good and it's very healthy. i eat here all the time because of how good the quality is. i usually get the beef kabob medium rare with hummus and red cabbage. the hummus is so creamy and always on point ! and love their rice it's definitely unique and tasty ! order on their website and you don't have to wait. it's so worth it !
Food and service was great, Amir helped us with ordering and I have to say his recommendations were great too. I would definitely come back.
I order from here regularly for my family and it’s my mom’s preferred Mediterranean spot. The noodle rice + red cabbage are particularly delicious. The hummus, baklava and tzatziki are authentic enough for our tastes (we have traveled Europe before to compare) and the beef, chicken and lamb are always cooked well enough. It is a bit pricey but it’s worth the wait and the price.
Best baba ganoush i have ever tasted. And lots of big chunks of eggplant. Falafel wraps are great. Not too dry or too wet like some places - just right.
Delicious every time. Everything is made fresh to order. Generous portions and great quality. The white cabbage salad is absolutely amazing. I feel like I see the same lady in there each time and she is always super nice and friendly.
Love this place, my company comes here once or twice a week for lunch. 2 option plate is what we normally go with. Rice is great, chicken is juicy and beef is tender and cooked perfectly. We are always greeted and treated well when we come to pick up our order. Also Amir has a super sexy voice on the mic. Ive been eating at places like this my whole life, I can tell you Pita hot is special.
We absolutely love this place! The food is amazing. My favorite is the beef shawarma plate and mix in a ridiculous amount of their garlic sauce. They remodeled a lot a couple years ago and it looks great inside. Just be warned, if you come here, you’ll get obsessed.
Pita’s Grill is easily one of my favorite spots. George, the owner, is always welcoming and makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. The kafta is absolutely amazing—perfectly seasoned, fresh, and cooked just right. Honestly, everything on the menu is consistently delicious. If you’re looking for great food and great people, this is the place. Highly recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing Mediterranean food! I tried Pita Hot for the first time and was blown away! Their hummus is unbelievably creamy and flavorful — some of the best I’ve ever had. The rice was perfectly seasoned, the chicken and steak were tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, and the Greek salad was so fresh and delicious. Everything tasted homemade and full of love. You can really tell they care about quality. The gentleman who took my order was friendly and professional. I Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Mediterranean food — I’ll definitely be back!
My first time trying this and this was absolutely delicious. To the most delicious creamy hummus, beef kabob and the rice. I highly recommend this place. It was worth the drive and will definitely be back
The foods are really delicious and the owner is very nice. He saw us and come to say hi. The lamb is really good! Great lunch spot!
This place is really good! They get busy during peak hours so I recommend placing an order online. The parking lot is pretty tight.
I always get lunch here. Chicken Shawarma wrap or plate both are excellent. One of the best I have had. Regular chicken kabob is also very good. Always get their Green hot sauce and garlic sauce. They both are bomb. Usually they take a while to prepare food so order online to pick it up so you avoid delays.
I’ve been eating here for maybe 14 years and I keep coming back. It literally has saved my health throughout my broke college student days at CSUF. They make real food that I just can’t get over and the prices are really reasonable. Really good to see this place doing so well! Amir and his family have really put work into place. Buy extra rice and garlic toum to add to your weekly it really beats any store bought toum. Lowkey the best falafels around. They are extra crispy 👌
One of my favorite spot for Mediterranean food. The food quality and quantity is pretty good compared to price. Right now they are closed for indoor dining but you can order and eat outdoor. Outdoor place does not have enough space covered so be ready for the sun or take it home or other place where you can find shade. You also won't able to use the restrooms as they are currently closed for customers.
Good food and good prices! Large portions! College crowd is rampant here. They're usually busy and food takes awhile to get out, but worth it. Staff could be a bit more friendly, but it might be a culture thing. Not sure. They always seem to be crabby and upset with each other while they work. Sends off a bad vibe to the customers. But hey, we go anyway.
Tried their beef shawarma. It was good, maybe 7 out of ten.
Used to be extremely delicious, however the beef has gotten tough and not to thrilling. The rice, hummus the cucumber yogurt are still very good. They were nice enough to let us sit in the additional seating area.
The food is amazing so good that I will put up with the rude staff. I did notice that they got some new staff members that are professional and nice as long as you don't get the one lady. My favorite thing to do is to get it to go and eat it at home while watching Netflix with my husband and our first baby, my little little 4-month-old Everett in his bobby in between us. The chicken and beef kebabs are amazing and you cannot leave without trying the garlic sauce.
The food is unbelievably good! Likely vegetarian options (a vegetable plate with grilled vegetables over rice, or a falafel plate with falafel over rice). The vegetable plate also comes with falafel so that's our favorite.. You get two sides with each plate, but really we just get the band ganoush cause it's so good. Their hummus and tabouleh is good too, in case you want variety. The service is a hit or miss at times, depending on whether the woman at the front desk is having a good day. But overall it's not a big deal. Dine in closed for now. But they have ample outside seating. Also note they don't use any delivery/ordering apps. They have their own website but it is incredibly buggy and charges a lot for delivery.
Excellent food. Really the best falafel and rice I’ve ever had. We passed by Pita Hot a few times cause it’s next to our yoga class. Glad we decided to give it a try. They have limited vegetarian options — just falafel plate and vegan kabab plate. I highly recommend the vegan kabab plate which comes with eggplant, mushroom, tomatoes, bell peppers, etc made in the same way a kabab would be. You get to choose two sides — definitely try the baba Ganoush - which is simply amazing! The only one thing I’ll say is that the lady who takes orders and serves in the front is either extremely overworked or just plain really really does not enjoy what she does. It like drains your energy just to talk with her for the two minutes when you’re ordering. But if you can get past that (or order online on their website) then the food is absolutely worth it.
Decent food, friendly staff, but relatively slow considering there were no orders ahead of us, and the kitchen wasn't busy when we ordered our food. In October 2021, there's currently no internal seating, but there is a small exposed patio adjacent to the street. One other interesting issue: they solicit tips, but do not give them to the employees -- the tips go to the owner. Do with that what you will.
Best takeout spot in OC for Mediterranean/lebanese/mid-east food. I’ve almost never had a bad experience with Pita Hot, I’ve been coming here for damn near 10 years! This was the first place I tried real authentic garlic sauce and if you like garlic you will want a tub of this stuff. I don’t think they use mayo, just garlic, oil and maybe lemon. My favorite meat is the lamb, I don’t really care much for the other meats such as beef, chicken, kefta, shrimp, or the lamb chops. I believe they use leg meat which comes out very tender/clean tasting. My favorite sides are the red cabbage and sumac onion. I tried recreating this at home but I can’t quite replicate Pita Hot’s! I might be able to come close with the meats, but Pita Hot gets my money with the sides! The rice is pretty good too, it’s true Lebanese style with pieces of fried vermicelli. I also like getting a side of fries to dip in hummus or the garlic sauce; amazing Lebanese fusion right there. I haven’t tried it in a while but the hummus and meat plate with beef is amazing. Minced steak type beef on top of hummus goes unreasonably hard, perfect for low carb. Pita Hot is a true mainstay for Fullerton, Fullerton college/CSUF, and North OC in general. It is a family business and I noticed that there is just the same lady working the front and I believe she is the owner. I can tell she is a bit exhausted because the restaurant business is long and grueling, I hope she finds the staffing she needs to maintain this business because it’s one of FEW (I’m talking 2-3) last good affordable takeout spots in the area. The interior is a bit worn down and dirty but the food makes up for it tenfold. EDIT: Unfortunately, as of March 2025 the Pita Hot in Fullerton, CA has fallen in quality. It’s like the grill they were using was running out of fuel because my meat was missing the “char” marks. The meat was also very chewy because of the quality. For sumac onions they replaced the red onions with just yellow onions or something. The red onions make the dish and there should be no substitutions for this one. The sumac onions which is usually amazing, tasted off due to the change in types of onion. Also, they increase the size of the container which is not a good look for them cause it looks like they are giving you less food. The staff seems to be very low in morale and if any of you guys are reading this you need to relaunch your passion for this business because Pita Hot is a favored place by many in the area. This area is a food desert when it comes to good ethnic food, not some white washed Cava or chipotle. Do not think I will be coming back for a while.
The food is very much over priced. The chicken swarma was OK, bit The shrimp was very rubbery. And the amount you get of meat is pathetic for the near $20 bucks a plate you will pay. The humis is good though. But the rest just not worth the money you'll spend. We're it closer to 14 a plate, then it would be a good deal.
Just tried out this place. Not bad seating area (4/5). Clean environment.(5/5). Moderately welcoming (3/5). Serving time is more than it should take.(3/5)Food taste ok. Meat is too dry and not tender. (2/5) Moderate price but the portion is little less than expected.(2/5). So far 3 star out 5.
Place is clean but that is it, don’t walk in and order takeout, order online it took 30 minutes for a wrap, food is decent for Mediterranean but will not be my first choice next time. Also would not recommend the baklava for the price you get a tiny square. One more thing if you order to go don’t touch the box or anything have the cashier open it up for you or they won’t change it or take it back. Like the baklava
it was a very mediocre experience most likely won't return but the fries were good. The tables are weirdly high and im 60 percent certain the drink machine had mold on the button. the chicken was just dry and the steak in the steak pita wrap was not cut right. there were also no working tea machines. I wouldn't recommend but I can see others' appeal
Asked the lady what comes inside their falafel wrap. She was telling me what a falafel was! I tried to explain to her again, what was in the wrap, falafel and what else and she just couldn't understand me so I walked out and went somewhere else.
They did away with their app and the website automatically adds a 20% tip AND a convenience fee. I got one plate with 2 skewers and it cost almost $30 after all the added fees and the new price hike for pick up! Can't imagine the cost for delivery... I'll miss eating here.
The food was good, but the guy on the phone when I placed my order was kind of rude. I ordered a beef shawarma plate, but the guy said they were out of beef, fine I thought, weird but ok, so I ordered chicken instead. When I picked up my order, he asked me to "hold on one second" I said ok, then he turned to the cook and said "2 BEEF plates", so i guess they weren't out of beef, needless to say no matter how good the food is, I won't be coming back here.
I have been here several times but never again. The service is horrible. We had to wait 30 min. While waiting my 4 year daughter had to use the restroom. They refused. I had to take her all the way down to the Curry place at the end of the parking lot. Also you can’t wait inside. Apparently the owners refuse to get vaccinated which is why they have not opened for dine in. I get it it’s your restaurant so you can do what you want. But I don’t feel like waiting out in the cold. So I won’t be going back.
A five star on food but they lose a star for their customer service and another one for their lack of cleanliness. I think the lady is the owner? Her English is limited but she's super rude! The other cashiers are also rude. Be careful where you sit because they forget to clean the chairs. Update 1/11/22 Their food is good but they take forever and will lie to you about the wait. She said 15 minutes and serviced other people before me. Ended up waiting 45 minutes not 15. Only get food here if you order an hour in advance and you have to order online because they will not answer their phones. I only come here because my sister asks me to but I hate it.
I’m giving it a one because the lamb was all gristle, the chicken was dry, the rice was mushy and the person who took our order was extremely rude. I do have to say the management offered to re-cook the meal however, time schedule. I will not return .
Check your orders, they forgot to put the protein in my to-go order, or the pita. It's not worth the gas to drive back and argue over it. If you're going to get takeout orders, open them while you're there and check them.
Wanted to try this place down the street from my house. They were not very welcoming. Idk if they are against Trans people. But I got my food and the next day I got food poisoning. I woke up with an upset stomach and nauseas. Been like this for 2 days. It’s very unfortunate if they didn’t cook my meat well on purpose for being trans.
