I found this place by chance one evening while looking for a place to dine near Omegna. I was immediately struck by the owner's kindness, and after trying the tasting menu, La Baita is now one of my favorite places for a high-quality dinner. Highly recommended!!! P.S. In the summer, the atmosphere at the outdoor tables is simply fantastic.

The food was absolutely delicious! We had lunch there on May 8th, 2025, and the owner was super friendly. We were there again on May 9th, 2025, for my husband's 60th birthday. The steak was amazing, the pizza was perfect, and they had good wines. We highly recommend it; it's well worth it! 😊 And the Belgian beer was very tasty! 😋 We will definitely eat there again; it was wonderful. Grazie mille for the great hospitality! 🥰

We return to this area every year, this lovely restaurant is a delight! Really fabulous food, cooked beautifully, there is a nice selection of local dishes and also delicious pizza. Also a nice selection of wines. We've always felt very welcome, thank you so much for your hospitality!

Professionalism and courtesy are the winning features of this charming establishment, which we frequent year-round, especially during the summer months when the heat reigns supreme. Here, you can dine while enjoying the fantastic coolness. It already feels like you're on vacation! Both the pizzas and the food are top-notch...their strong point is definitely the homemade desserts, which (even though I'm not a big fan of sweets), I can't resist!

Fantastic! I tried it today for lunch: polenta and stew with stewed sausage, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, and potato gnocchi with radicchio and melted cheese, finishing with pear and chocolate cake! Everything is homemade, I encourage you to try it 😊

Walked up from Gattugno... 30 mins later we were welcomed with a cold beer. Food here is simple and delicious... Hosts are exceptional... Somewhere we will return to regularly.. maybe tomorrow.. 😁 Update... Returned in September 2023.. This place is still as wonderful as last year. If you are in the area, certainly recommend this place. Either drive up or enjoy a bracing walk up from Gattugno. Fantastic food and service.

Arriving from Omegna on foot via various trails, I find myself in front of this oasis of gastronomic bliss! Besides its pleasant appearance and quiet location (also accessible by motorbike/car), it offers a very warm welcome and excellent traditional local dishes! I highly recommend it!

This restaurant offers mountain cuisine with simple yet high-quality ingredients. The tagliatelle with mushrooms I ordered were delicious, and the pasta tasted homemade. The tagliata steak was also delicious, very tender. I love the atmosphere; it's very reminiscent of a modern mountain hut. Good value for money.

We ordered a varied menu, specifically a mixed appetizer of cured meats and cheeses accompanied by an excellent freshly baked focaccia, two first courses, a grilled slice of beef, and then a delicious dessert accompanied by homemade limoncello. I highly recommend it!

We went for Sunday lunch. The restaurant isn't very large, but it's simply and tastefully decorated and very clean. We had a mixed antipasto, fresh tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, and pork shank with mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and authentic. The owner was very friendly. In the warmer months, you can dine outside. From the restaurant, you can take lovely walks for all abilities. A beautiful view of Lake Orta can be enjoyed in just a few minutes.

Il posto è molto carino e il cibo è buono, purtroppo il tutto è rovinato dalla poca disponibilità del proprietario e dalla poca gentilezza del pizzaiolo. Siamo clienti da molti anni e abitiamo vicino al posto. Già altre persone in valle hanno smesso di frequentarlo per lo stesso motivo ed anche noi dobbiamo rinunciare a questo posto carino perché non è piacevole comunque sentirsi trattare in malo modo. Il tutto è successo perché gli è stato chiesto di rifare una pizza che avevamo chiesto senza origano e lui è venuto al tavolo pretendendo che si mangiasse ugualmente. Non abbiamo detto nulla se non richiedere che fosse rifatta senza origano. Il proprietario indispettito ci ha fatto credere che l'avrebbe rifatta ma, quando dopo venti minuti di attesa abbiamo chiesto a che punto fosse il pizzaiolo ci ha detto con fare irriverente che non l avrebbe rifatta perché era solo un capriccio...insomma mia figlia di 8 anni avrebbe dovuto mangiare a forza una pizza che non le piaceva....e finita che la bambina alle 23.30 non aveva mangiato nulla, il ristoratore si è fatto pagare anche la comanda che aveva sbagliato e dopo tanti anni abbiamo dovuto prendere atto e fare il conto anche delle numerose volte in cui non si era comportato in maniera consona con un cliente. In tutto questo siamo sempre stati rispettosi del suo lavoro ma forse questa volta ha raggiunto l'apice lasciando a digiuno una bambina solo per un suo vezzo e forse una piccola vendetta per avergli chiesto di tifare una pizza

Lettera aperta per il signor Motetta titolare LA BAITA..ALPE COLLA...GERMAGNO.......Caro signor Motetta....dopo anni che veniamo nel suo locale forse un trattamento del genere non me lo sarei mai aspettato.....in tanti anni dove con noi regnava la sua cortesia...solo 2 volte l ho visto molto arrabbiato però non era con noi...tanto è vero che avevo ordinato pizza con i peperoni e invece mi è arrivata pizza con i carciofini che però non mi dispiacciono e non l ho fatto presente memore della nostra amicizia .....Si è vero signor Motetta che a volte partiamo da Milano e prenotavamo ma lei ha sempre accettato gli orari che andavano dalle 21 alle 21,30 sempre avvisando...bastava che dicesse che non era più possibile,sa quante pizzerie sono disponibili a Omegna,certamente non trovavamo il fresco che c è nel suo locale all aperto, un vero paradiso.....Ora veniamo ai fatti....arriviamo 21,45 circa ordiniamo le pizze ma ci siamo dimenticati di dire che una pizza per la bimba era senza origano...niente male la mangiamo noi e ne ordiniamo un altra senza origano al ragazzo e poi ripetuto l ordine io personalmente a lei che era sul ballatoio....tutto normale così sembra..NOOOO.... qua comincia il bello...la pizza arriva con l origano...ha sbagliato lei?...niente male si può sempre rimediare ma lei comincia a dire che sono capricci della bimba e noi confermiamo che non sopporta l origano...Se ne va brontolando e noi pensiamo che lei ci faccia finalmente una pizza senza origano ....in tutto questo la bimba che aveva fame non ha dato segni di insofferenza...Aspetta....aspetta...Vediamo portare i caffè a una tavolata vicino.i dolci a noi e la pizza alla bimba niente...C'è ne siamo andati alle 23,41 come conferma suo scontrino con la bimba a digiuno che s è mangiata i nostri biscotti del gelato...nessun capriccio da parte della bambina...Comportamento DISUMANO da parte sua....Tanti saluti signor Motetta questa non è la mia verità...MA LA VERITÀ...Testimoni i due camerieri di cui uno molto imbarazzato,che forse non avranno il coraggio di confermare...li capisco...TANTO LE DOVEVO. ...Saluti Mariangela Borella
