Had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Such a beautiful venue and wonderful food. It is expensive, but worth the splurge for special occasions.

My husband and I cannot stop talking about this hidden gem in Gibsonville. The rooms were distinctively furnished and the service was impeccable. But the food, oh the food, was divine to the nth degree. Here's the play by play of dinner that was far more than expected. Dinner at Burke Manor Restaurant August 11, 2022 Small 3 cheese puff pastry with sprig of rosemary to prepare palate - Asiago, Parmesan, and Gruyère Small baguettes of olive bread with butter Soupe a L’Oignon Gratinée (French onion soup) topped with Gruyere/Asiago cheese for the gratine Gratiné palate cleanser - Italian-style flavored frozen ice (lemon/mint) Provencal-Scented Short ribs braised for 5 hours in a dark red wine with black olive veal reduction with carrots. Served in meaty sweet potato and sage ravioli. Chocolate Ball of Dream - dark chocolate melted in a golden puff pastry on a bed of cream Angelaise and caramel. Black coffee

Wonderful place, hidden Gem 💎. The ambience is great supported by excellent service. This place was pleasant surprise and we loved it. We had full three course lunch, along with glass of wine. The server explained all the food and helped us selecting wine. We had onion soup which was really good and I believe it was better than what I had in Paris. The fish was excellent. Overall we had great experience and we will certainly recommend this place as one will not go wrong with anything.

What a beautiful place! I spent 3 nights here for a business trip, and I cannot express how wonderful the owners are! They think of every detail and made me feel so welcomed and taken care of! My husband and I enjoyed dinner at their four diamond restaurant, located in the B&B, St.Jacques, and it was magnificent! I would highly recommend them both for their Bed and Breakfast as well as their fine dining restaurant! Thank you, Lori and Chef Lil! I will absolutely be back!

I had my wedding at the Burke Manor last weekend and stayed in the Paris Suite. I only have amazing things to say about my experience. The food was some of the best I've had in the area, the staff was unmatched and Lori and Lil went above any beyond to make our weekend special and our stay calming and relaxing. The grounds were beautifully kept and the service was truly unmatched. We threw a few curveballs in with our stay and our event and the staff there rolled with the punches and made it everything we dreamed of and more!

New Year's Eve at the Burke Manor My husband wanted to take me somewhere special for NYE and I wanted to take him somewhere awesome for his birthday, January 1st. But where do you go when you only have a quick 24 hours off of work? Well we discovered that something special and awesome is right in our own "backyard". The owners Lil and Lori make you feel like you are coming to visit family, without the dysfunction though. 😁 Our room was warm, comfy, clean and so cozy. I literally melted into the bed and did not want to leave. Chef Lil and staff outdid themselves with an amazing NYE dinner and a delicious breakfast the next morning. The staff at the Burke, like the owners, were friendly, attentive and took great care of us. Whether you fly hundreds of miles to get here or drive 10 minutes here from your home, the Burke Manor Inn is definitely a bed and breakfast you need to visit.

The inn is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. The service was top notch—so personable and made us feel like honored guests. Our room was comfortable and lovely. I felt so at ease and relaxed during our stay. The breakfast was so tasty and wonderfully prepared. I will come back to experience the full restaurant, soon!

UPDATE: Summer "Afternoon in Provence" is a lovely way to spend a summer afternoon. We tried Pastis for the first time and it was quite good (esp when a little water is added). The cheese board offering is a great alternative to the charcuterie board. Took a friend here for a birthday lunch and it was fantastic. Really good food, excellent service, wonderful coffee. This is a perfect place to take someone for a special meal.

I went to a friends wedding at this venue. Because I arrived a bit early, I was able to walk around and explore the grounds a bit. I loved the backyard space where the outdoor wedding took place. Surrounded by tall and lovely trees that make for great pictures. There’s also a fantastic tree in the front that my girlfriend and I took a photo at. The covered area for the reception is large enough for many tables and dancing space. The staff were all friendly and nice if spoken to. It was a great experience and lovely place!

Absolutely fabulous meal experience from start to finish. Impeccably attentive service and complex but comfortable dishes. Surprises at every turn. Gnocchi, French Onion Soup, Braised Short Ribs and Creme Brulee were all spot on. Impressive wine list and pairings.

We celebrated our anniversary by enjoying a delightful dinner of flounder and salmon. For an appetizer we shared tomato pie. We were seated on the veranda for our dinner. The weather was perfect. Our server was friendly and informative. The evening was most enjoyable.

My husband and celebrated his birthday here this past weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. We were beyond pleased with the exceptional service we received and the food was amazing. The staff was so helpful and I am looking forward to our next visit!

Took my brother to St Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn for his military retirement dinner on March 6th. The staff were some of the most accommodating and attentive that I have ever experienced in any restaurant setting with extreme high compassion and understanding for some of my party that didn't quite understand "Fine" dining etiquette. The food was meticulously prepared with dubious distinction and flare that utters edible art at its finest creation! The atmosphere at St Jacques is that of sophistication with earthy appeal. St Jacques at Burke Manor Inn is a destination I feel you reserve for your most intimate circle of friends and loved ones for that special evening out that you wish to make truly memorable! I made a reservation here without knowing what the evening would hold and found that I will make a return trip for special occasions and my wife dropped a hint that our anniversary is coming up! I very much recommend St Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn to anyone!

What a wonderful night with the Burke staff! We hosted my sons rehearsal dinner on the veranda and it was fabulous! The food was amazing, the staff was wonderful and the atmosphere was out of this world!! What a magical night!!

Burke Manor Inn & Pavilion provided the best service I have ever had in the world. Despite my national and international travels, I found the compassion, competence, and commitment of the Burke Manor family to exceed expectations in every area. Thanks for a world class experience.

Delightful French dishes prepared by an accomplished hand. Very warm and professional server. We’re coming from Chapel Hill and it’s worth a special trip as it is consistently fabulous! Thanks team @ Saint Jacques— you are a gift to the area!

Fantastic. We finally had dinner here and I'm happy to report it is as good as I had hoped. The food was outstanding, and the staff (Sarah!) was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. The wine list is excellent, and I look forward to going back.

Every time I have ever eaten here has been a mind blowing experience that I wished I could stretch out for an eternity. The grounds are calming for even the angriest soul, the food nourishing delicious and prepared with the greatest of care. An eye for detail andthe heart of a saint has made the food unforgettable and the experience to die for. Thank you Chef

This beautiful Inn is also home to a fabulous French restaurant. We recently had dinner with a group of 8 friends. The food was delicious and our server, Emily was incredible. This is the best restaurant for phenomenal food and warm and friendly service.

I love the Burke Manor Inn. I recently had my wedding ceremony on their grounds and everything was perfect. Their staff took care of everything, which allowed us to focus on what made the day important. Their staff is accommodating, their menu is an expression of pure genius (I seriously cannot get enough of the homemade peach jam we had with breakfast. I recommend they make it available for purchase seasonally) and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. This is a local business and the owners are on-site most of the day. The building is older and rich in history - any hiccups that arise from this are resolved promptly. This is the place to go for an authentic, relaxing, enjoyable experience in the heart of Gibsonville.

This inn is a charming getaway to relax and unwind. The host, Lori, is very accommodating and hospitable. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, and we were given more than enough. My husband and I were married here 16 years ago, and we decided to come back and visit. We’re so glad we made the trip!

Beautiful grounds, gracious hospitality and impeccable food! The cottage we stayed in was clean and spacious enough for 4 people. We had an absolute blast checking out the hidden gem of Gibsonville! Thank you Lil and Lori for a wonderful stay! We will be back!

I have taken many cooking demonstrations/classes over many years, and I have never seen such a passionate chef about his craft. Chef Lil explains everything so all can understand, the importannce for each step and the outcome it yeilds. Chef Lil is a natural born storyteller and this adds to the demonstration so much more that you could just listen to him for hours. The staff and his wife make everything run smoothly and above all, you leave with a feeling of satisfaction. Chef Lil, I will be back!!!!! Jamie Forrester

Quaint B&B with amazing food. Our only regret is that we didn't arrive in time for dinner. We will definitely stay here again.

I arranged an overnight with dinner as a surprise for my wife’s birthday included were her parents. Lori and Lil, owners and chef, could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Lil got a golf cart to help my in laws to their room. They helped with our baggage and made sure we had everything needed for our overnight stay. The food is some of the best ever experienced. For entrees we had lamb chops, sea bass and petite fillets prepared similar to beef Wellington. As appetizers, we had escargot and friend onion soup. All were wonderfully prepared and were delicious. As part of our overnight stay, a full breakfast was provided. Fresh coffee, juice, ham and cheese omelet with fresh fruit, bacon, creamy cheese and garlic grits with toast. If ever in the Gibsonville area, outside Greensboro, and want a comfortable and romantic getaway accompanied by some of the finest food you’ll ever eat, you have to give this place a shot. I certainly give it five stars. Lori and Lil, I can’t say it enough so thank you again for the memories we will keep for a lifetime. I have edited this review so that I acknowledge the entire team supporting the Burke Manor Inn. We had two servers who were knowledgeable, professional and did a great service for us. Oh by the way, there restaurant rating was 100.

My husband and I just celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. This is our second time visiting and as always it did not disappoint! We felt like we were pampered every second of our time and we are so thankful for the Burke Manor for making our trip so special. The food is absolutely incredible and hand's down the BEST food we have ever had! The service is top notch, flavor, and overall just right down delicious! Thank you Burke Manor!

Wonderful!!! We stayed at the Inn for 4 nights and we highly recommend it! A home away from home with the nicest staff and BEST food! Lori and Lil go out of their way to make sure you have all that you need the whole time you are there! We had an amazing dinner the first night and didn’t think our lunch the next day could top it but it was just as good if not better! The chicken crepes melted in my mouth. Can’t say enough for the breakfasts we had each morning. We had French toast, crepes with scrambled eggs, ham and cheese omelet and quiche Lorraine - all served with bacon, fresh fruit and juices and a big smile. My next goal is to go on one of the awesome sounding trips Lil leads in the summer to his old stomping grounds in France. Thanks so much for making our trip so great!!!❤️❤️❤️

The Burke Manor Inn & Pavilion is such a hidden gem! My husband and I got married at the Burke Manor in October and it was absolutely beautiful. The grounds are stunning, as is the manor. I wanted an outdoor garden wedding and the Burke was the perfect location for an outdoor ceremony. Our reception was in the pavilion, which is extremely nice and spacious. There are grounds surrounding the pavilion as well, so our guests could stay inside the tent all night or walk outside and enjoy the evening in the open air. It was exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend renting the entire venue for your wedding weekend. We stayed at the Burke and filled the B&B with our family and friends, and that truly made it the best weekend ever. We got to enjoy breakfast with a smaller group on Saturday and Sunday morning, which was delicious and so relaxing. I can’t say enough how nice it was to just be on location all weekend and not have to worry about driving anywhere. My husband and I can’t wait to stay at the Burke again in the future to get to the enjoy the bed and breakfast even more. Another reason we picked the Burke Manor for our wedding was the restaurant’s high ratings. Food is very important to us and we wanted our wedding buffet to be delicious. We got lots of compliments on the food – I recommend beef bourguignon and pulled pork for buffet options! We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Burke and it was absolutely amazing. We sat outside on the veranda to enjoy the fall weather and it was absolutely stunning. The food was AMAZING as well. We got a ton of compliments on the food and the veranda’s ambiance from everyone who attended our rehearsal dinner. And of course the service was wonderful as well. I am so pleased with how our wedding weekend went, and a lot of that is thanks to Lori! Lori did such a great job throughout the entire planning process helping me think through every detail. She was so friendly and kind and easy to work with. When the forecast called for rain, she had a rain plan ready to go (which we ended up not needing, thankfully, but she was prepared either way!) I had tons of questions and requests throughout the process and she helped with every single thing. I highly recommend the Burke Manor for your wedding!

Five stars for St. Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn! My wife and I visited again today for a birthday lunch on the veranda. I don't think I have ever had a meal, and especially not a lunch, where every course was so delicious. The chicken soup was meaty and exquisitely spiced, the seafood crepe exploded with flavor, the desserts were perfect, and the wines by the glass complimented the meal very well. We had made reservations and the service was superb. They had planned for our dietary requirements, and knew exactly how stringent we felt about our restrictions. We will be back.

The monthly brunch prix fixe menu is a must. Each course has three to four selections. With our party of 8, was able to see each dish and taste a couple other than my own. My three selections (appetizer, entree, dessert) were perfect. Everyone at the table shared the same sentiments. Additionally, beautiful venue and delightful service team. Now find myself stalking their website to determine my next visit.

We highly recommend Burke Manor Inn! I am so glad we chose Burke Manor as our intimate wedding venue. Lori, the Chef, and their amazing team made our day an extraordinary success. They set up our ceremony and dinner reception so perfectly, made sure our guests were happy and cared for, and delivered five-star food service. We got so many comments from our guests saying how much they loved the venue, the food, the ceremony, and the accommodating staff. We want to go back for an anniversary!

The entire estate (inside and out) is meticulously maintained while preserving the historic home. Breakfast (stuffed crepes) was fantastic! Saint Jacques dinner venue located within the inn was an experience not to be missed. The meal was incredible! French onion soup, tagliatelle with a creamy mushroom sauce, braised lamb, and a decadent chocolate dessert capped off a wonderful day at the inn. The owners and staff are friendly and always within reach for anything you need. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!

My initial rating was a bit misleading, I thought it was somewhere else I had visited recently. :) It's an old house with, old house charm. The Staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It was a honeymoon night so we didn't spend alot of time exploring the amenities. We had a downstairs room and heard a fair amount of upstairs room traffic, but it wasn't so much we complained. Breakfast was very good. I think I would have liked whipped cream instead of pesto Hollandaise, sauce. :) It was a fabulous egg wrapped crepe.

Excellent! I've never stayed there, but I've eaten at the French restaurant three times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. Oh. My. Gahhhhh. I've tried things I never would outside of that place. The chef does an INCREDIBLE job with cooking and seasoning/flavor. The staff are very intuitive, intelligent, and professional. I feel so spoiled in the best of ways. It's an experience I can't afford consistently, but will always feed when I can.

The house, a historical gem, is beautifully decorated and is surrounded on three sides by porches which overlook lawns shaded by magnificent trees. So it is a very pleasant, relaxing, and interesting place to stay. That said, it is the exceptional food, the fine wine, the attentive service, and the enthusiastic and gregarious personalities of the owners that make Burke Manor so special.

The Burke Manor Inn was the perfect place for the baby shower I hosted. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room was decorated beautifully. The food was excellent. Everyone had a great time and felt welcomed at the beautiful Inn.

What a beautiful respite from the current situation! Lori and her staff were courteous, kind, and very attentive to precautions for everyone's well being. The house is lovely with so many options! The decor is timeless and welcoming. We stayed in the Perch and it was a perfect, private get away! The food is absolutely delicious; they even had a gluten free baguette...yay, bread!! Highly recommend it and will certainly return any chance I get!

My wife and I stayed at the Burke Manor Inn for our anniversary. Was like a night and morning in France! Loved our dinner and felt like our breakfast of French style omelettes made by Chef Lil was outstanding as well! Thanks for making our anniversary special! Would also highly recommend!

Had our wedding at the Burke Manor! It was great and the staff made our wedding day so much easier! They did everything they could to make our day extra special and wonderful with their kind and helpful staff. The rooms are all beautiful and grounds always well kept. Additionally we returned for our one year anniversary and they made us feel like we were the only guest they had! I even called last minute with a special request and they took care of it! They really do try to make you have the best stay possible. My wife and I will be returning to the Burke Manor!

We visited the Burke Manor for a Wedding tour. It's tucked away in a residential area. Do note that it is located very close to the train tracks and the train can be heard several times (twice in the hour we were there). The grounds are very well kept and the staff is very nice. The venue itself feels cramped when thinking about having 75 to 100 people at the location. Overall, we enjoyed the tour.

S
Sam Moore

Went there for New Year's dinner. Did not stay at Inn. Very quaint place. Very good service. My entree and dessert was wonderful. The salad, appetizer and soup was nothing special. Wine list very expensive. Overall, I enjoyed our good friends, and the location. It was expensive but it was New Year's. I doubt I would go back. Very few meals, one drink, and a couple glasses of wine, is worth $200 +. But again, it was New Year's.

G
GREGORY SAYLOR

Service was top notch, however the food was mediocre, except for the deserts. The special was Salmon & Shrimp Crepes (TINY shrimp, like the canned ones in the store) and overcooked green peas were in the mix - WHAT? Yes! More like British Pub food than a Fine French inspired Luncheon....May go back, as this doesn't come close to the reviews, by a Long Shot.

On July 9, 2021,we reserved a table for six to celebrate three birthdays. We asked the server if a complementary birthday dessert was offered. The server, whose name was Sarah, said yes and that the three birthday ladies could select off the menu. Each was billed for their selection and when Sarah was asked about the billing, she replied, "I said it was a free plate ". Very misleading and a rude reply. In addition the individual billing was completely wrong after a very long wait to get it. The server mentioned she had been with Burke Manor for eight years. Not a pleasant experience and all the guest said they would not return. Very sad celebration.

Dined at the restaurant and was very underwhelmed. The atmosphere seemed very family-style instead of intimate, meaning you could hear the conversation of the parties at the table next to you (and it was not crowded). If it wasn’t busy why seat people so close together? The wine was good and paired well with the entree. The meal I ordered was the Short Rib Surf and Turf. The meat was excessively layered in fat (approximately half of the $45 serving). The shrimp was undercooked. Instead of bringing two new pieces of shrimp, my cut up pieces were were returned to me with excessive amounts of oil/grease on them and my one bite was tasteless. The Old World Warm Goat Salad was good, but nothing extraordinary. The French Onion Soup was quite good. I chose to not order dessert based on the entree. Despite the poor meal, I left a nice tip because the servers tried. The chef should have made this right. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will not return. I give it a 2/5.

K
Kim Lott

The food was tasteless. Eating on the porch on a cool evening was nice. The restaurant should do a better job managing clientele and maintaining standards of an upper scale environment. One lady was listening to the news on her phone loud enough I heard it on the other end of the porch. Another patron was talking loudly on the phone. Shouldn't let patrons do things that bother and intrude on other guest's experience. Overall very disappointed esp given all the rave reviews.
