Yesterday we discovered Sidrería El Requexu by chance, and it was, without a doubt, a great decision. We weren't familiar with the place, but something about its appearance caught our attention compared to others in the area... and we made the right choice. We ate from the set menu and the experience was excellent: tasty, hearty dishes, well-presented, and with an unbeatable quality-price ratio. The care with which they work in the kitchen is evident. We would especially like to congratulate Julio, the waiter who served us. He was professional, friendly, attentive, and possessed that experience that makes all the difference. It's a pleasure when someone enjoys what they do, and you can tell from the first moment. The place is very cozy, clean, well-maintained, and has a good atmosphere. The bathrooms are in perfect condition, which always adds points. We will definitely return! A highly recommended place.

One of the best places I've ever eaten in my life (my husband is a chef and a hospitality teacher, and he agrees). Good service, good food, good cider (they have a master cider pourer—I don't know if that's what they call it), and the staff is super~super~friendly. The owner himself serves you, and you eat until you drop. The master cider pourer (who you'll see in a selfie) is a master at pouring. Don't forget to stop by if you're in Gigón. They have alcohol-free Trabanco cider, which is hard to find in Asturias. Sidrería Requexu, we Granadans haven't forgotten you...

We made a reservation because otherwise it's impossible to get a table for lunch. They recommended razor clams and baked fish. We had baked sea bass for two, very, very delicious. For dessert, we had a cheese and mango tart. 100% recommended. We'll definitely be back!

A charming spot with a wide variety of traditional dishes, from cachopo to rice dishes, not forgetting seafood and fabada. The atmosphere is very peaceful and pleasant. The service is excellent; we went without a reservation and were seated without any problems. Reservations are recommended if possible. Highly recommended! 10/10

We were deciding where to go for lunch and found it. We decided to try the menu. It was a great choice. The food was delicious, plentiful, and the staff was very attentive. We'll definitely be back. Well, it was our last day in Gijón, and we decided to try this restaurant. We had high expectations, but the price and the portion sizes left us with a bitter taste. The croquettes were very tasty, and the razor clams were excellent, but they were small in portion and expensive for the quantity. We followed with rice with crabs and prawns. There were four of us, and they served half a crab per person and one prawn per person. The rice was cooked to perfection, not overcooked, but charging what they charged and adding that seems like quite a lot to me. The desserts were very good, I loved the millefeuille, which was buff. In short, the place was very comfortable, the service was good, but I think the prices are a bit high. I've attached the bill.

Bonita y amplia sidrería con buena atención y sidra bien escanciada. Cuenta con comedor diferenciado y amplia zona de barra para poder tomar algo. Carta diferente a la de este tipo de locales. Los platos que pedimos me gustaron, así que repetiré para seguir probando.

A traditional cider house, with the atmosphere of regulars enjoying cider in the bar area and a somewhat lackluster restaurant that gradually fills up. In my opinion, the food was decent but unoriginal. The slow, slow preparation ultimately ruined the meal. The service was very pleasant.

No podemos recomendar este lugar ya que fue una decepción total. Empezando por la comida, el cachopo es el peor que hemos probado. Ternera chiclosa , muy gruesa y el queso azul demasiado fuerte, nos costó mucho acabarlo. Las patatas aceitosas ,blanduchas. El bonito encebollado estaba seco!!! Y las cervezas, las más caras que nos han servido!!!!! Otro detalle a destacar es que llamamos para reservar y nos dijeron que no había mesa , que sólo estaba disponible una mesa alta en terraza. Cuando llegamos , entré al baño y había muchas mesas vacías sin cartel de reservado ni nada. Una vez sentados fuera nos dijeron que el servicio en terraza tenía un suplemento de 10% más en la cuenta!!!!..vaya...!!!!!! Nadie quiere sentarse fuera porque llueve cada poco , hace frío y una mesa alta es incómoda. Además esas mesas estaban a parte , en una zona sin lona ni protección. Y me dices que no hay otra cosa y encima me cobras más por el servicio???? Además , las sillas estaban mojadas porque había llovido, y le pedimos si podía secarlas y dijo que ya estaban limpias de antes y que no mojaban !!! Pasó por una de ellas un trapo de mala manera y volvió dentro. El camarero que nos atendió era un señor mayor que no estaba en condiciones de salud para estar trabajando. No paraba de toser y moquear, andaba despacio, tenía mala cara y le temblaba el pulso. Me dió pena por verle hacer el esfuerzo de estar atendiendo mesas a pesar de su edad y su frágil estado de salud. No entiendo cómo lo tienen así trabajando. Nos quedamos a comer porque habíamos visto buenas reseñas de la comida y porque en pleno puente de agosto, estaba todo lleno y veníamos de un tour muy cansados....pero en general fue una experiencia desagradable, la comida no nos gustó nada y fue caro para lo que pedimos. No lo recomendamos en absoluto.

I have visited so many Sidrerias in Gijón and it's sad to find a sidreria that still treat customer like foreigners, that questioned your taste. And sadly the "so-called-boss" supports that. Instead of offering an apology, he argued back, defending himself and putting the blame back on you. Poor argument. Please be professional, improve your service, treat customer with respect and don't act defensive.
