Opinions de Gajarda Osteria Romana Giussano
We wanted to have this experience. That said, I can only be satisfied. The dining room somewhat recreates what you'd expect from a Roman osteria. The tables are quite close together, so if you want intimacy, this isn't the place for you! But this is a given in any Roman osteria, because then you don't understand the spirit. The kitchen offers a menu featuring typical Lazio dishes. The quality of the ingredients is truly remarkable, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is positive, and the waiters are truly friendly. The bill is average. It's one of the few that respects true Roman tradition.
I had dinner at this osteria... a charming place, with attention to every detail!!! Impeccable service, the girls were very kind and helpful, and always had a smile on their faces!!! Excellent food; we started with some appetizers (meatballs alla vaccinara, supplì alla carbonara and cacio e pepe, and a porchetta and pecorino platter), all delicious!!! Then we continued with spaghetti alla carbonara, rigatoni alla gricia, oxtail alla vaccinara, and lamb chops (each one better than the last), and finally we finished with a tiramisu that was nothing short of exceptional!!! Highly recommended; in fact, we're already thinking about what to try next time 😉
I was truly impressed by this Roman restaurant! The atmosphere is welcoming and authentic, perfect for enjoying traditional dishes. The service was very attentive and friendly: the staff was always smiling and helpful. The dishes were simply exquisite, prepared with fresh ingredients and rich in flavor. I especially loved the cacio e pepe, creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—one of the best I've ever eaten! An excellent experience that I recommend to anyone who loves authentic Roman cuisine. I can't wait to return!
La Gajarda is, in my opinion, the best Roman restaurant in our area and also one of the best restaurants in general. I've been there twice: the first time, last year, I had the cacio e pepe, and the second time, last night, I ordered the amatriciana. I've always been a huge fan of cacio e pepe, which I remember finding very good (otherwise, of course, I wouldn't have returned a second time), but I must admit I was even more won over by the amatriciana. It was love at first sight, probably also because it was the first "serious" amatriciana of my life, given that the others I'd previously tasted were versions offered at bars and bistros, like those served at work lunches and the like. As I told my boyfriend yesterday, I firmly believe that this amatriciana has healing properties and that, served in hospitals instead of the usual food that smells of death, it would heal many sick people. Simply perfect, full-bodied, abundant, with an addictive sauce. The maritozzo was also good, another Roman specialty I'd never tried. It wasn't as good as the amatriciana, though. I plan to return and try all the other Roman first courses on the menu. PS: Even the coffee was better than average. The service was friendly without being intrusive. Excellent value for money.
Excellent food and portions, reasonable prices, or at least in line with the market. The interior is beautiful, well-finished yet still trattoria-style. The tiramisu is colossal; it's not the usual ridiculous shot of the fancy restaurants; it's something for professionals! The sour cherry tart is also delicious, and I'm not crazy about tarts! One of the best Roman restaurants in the area...and I've tried them all!
A corner of Rome in Brianza If it weren't for the staff's idiom, once you enter, faced with the carefully crafted and beautifully presented dishes, you might think you were in a Roman trattoria. I come here as often as I can and every time I leave satisfied, both in taste and mood. Exceptional staff and excellent food. I recommend trying all the appetizers and the generous first courses. But eat them a little at a time so as not to overcrowd yourself. The second courses aren't bad either. In fact, coda alla vaccinara and saltimbocca are definitely worth a try, perhaps with puntatelle. And to finish, a nice Nerone amaro (which I prefer to Ciociaro). In short, a nice place to make peace with the world. P.S.... maybe a little background music from the likes of Gabriella Ferri, Franco Califano, or Lando Fiorini wouldn't be bad (apologies to true Romans who might disagree). I wanted to post some photos of the appetizers, but they were gone in seconds.
Comfortable Roman-style trattoria! -Food- Appetizers: Very tasty (try the Sanpietrino!), in small portions that won't take away from the main courses. The fried foods are never greasy and don't weigh you down. First courses: Hearty, well-balanced dishes, crispy bacon, and plenty of sauce to mop up the sauce. Pasta is always cooked to perfection. Everything is delicious, but for me, the gricia wins. Desserts: Tiramisu is amazing, just like the one I make at home (so it's love at first sight), and a generous portion. -Service- Very friendly, fast, smiling staff, occasionally just the right amount of authenticity. ;) -Prices- Very good for the area and type of restaurant. -Ambience- Very cute, decorated in a traditional trattoria style, but without going overboard with kitsch. The system plays classic Italian music, with a focus on Roman composers, of course, at a volume that's audible but not annoying at all. Rating: DAJEEEEE!
Excellent place, thank you very much Gajarda's team!
Very busy restaurant. Authentic Roman cuisine. I recommend Trippa a la romana. A bit noisy, but very nice atmosphere.
Great find - we were here just today for a tennis tournament and needed a place nearby - trusted the trip adviser reviews and were not disappointed. Really friendly service - we didn’t have a booki…
We were there once with friends: what we tried was truly delicious! The supplì and porchetta were amazing, and the bruschetta and artichokes were excellent. Disappointingly, the puntarelle tasted only of diluted anchovies! I would have preferred my saltimbocca to be a little more flavorful: perhaps with a more robust prosciutto. The desserts were excellent. The wait staff were knowledgeable and kind. The only flaw was the noise and the location of the table: we were on the veranda, but near the door, so every time it opened, it was cold! Besides that, there was so much chatter that we couldn't even talk to each other! The people at our next table were certainly rowdy, but the poor soundproofing made up for it. We'll definitely be back, but we'll ask for a seat inside.
Fun atmosphere! I'm giving it a 4 because I'm Roman, but not a Roma fan (people tend to confuse Rome with stray dogs 😆)! Excellent dishes, but a small point about the lamb chops...they have to be on the bone! Otherwise, how can you burn your finger if you only have to cut it with a knife and fork?! Recommended!
An excellent place for a dinner featuring good Roman food, starting with a wide selection of appetizers and moving on to the first courses, although I must say they aren't as generous as at other Roman restaurants. The desserts are a special mention. As for the overall atmosphere, I must say it's truly delightful, thanks in part to the kind and friendly staff. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back.
Welcoming place, friendly and helpful staff, generous portions, and excellent food. I'd like to make a couple of comments, however: the carbonara was delicious, but the carbosalsa was far too thick, making it difficult to swallow; the cacio e pepe, on the other hand, had, for my personal taste, too much sauce. The supplì, croquettes, and tiramisu were excellent!
The atmosphere is beautiful and very quaint, the staff is kind, fun, and super friendly. The food is delicious; the cacio e pepe is spectacular, although I would have preferred it to be a little creamier. The supplì and carbonara are also excellent. A great place for traditional food; I'll be back!
As a Roman, I say: Excellent menu, varied selection, and authentic Roman fare. Slightly more expensive than an equivalent in Rome. Excellent service and friendliness. However, the atmosphere is not at all Roman, apart from the staff, who are still fantastic and very Brianza-style. The menu is in Roman, and the sign "er cesso" for the bathroom in Rome is absolutely unheard of even in the most authentic trattorias. In short, a place for tourists in Brianza. Still, recommended for the truly excellent food.

A decidedly negative and disappointing New Year's Eve experience. When booking, we specified that we had celiac disease. We were told there would be no problem and that simply letting us know upon arrival was sufficient, as the restaurant was equipped to replace unsuitable dishes. In reality, however, the management was superficial and unreassuring regarding a serious issue like celiac disease. To make matters worse, at 1:00 AM the owner stopped the music, forcing the musician to stop, clearly to pressure customers to leave, completely ruining the atmosphere of the New Year's Eve dinner. The most serious and unacceptable incident, however, concerned the staff's behavior: a waiter mistakenly left a coffee order on our table, which should have been left at the bar. The order read "a coffee for the bitch." This offensive and disrespectful comment toward a customer was absolutely intolerable. When the incident was pointed out, the waiter immediately took the order, claiming to be asking the bartenders for an explanation. He held her back and awkwardly attempted to justify himself, only to eventually settle for a lame excuse. Unprofessional behavior, questionable management of the evening, and a complete lack of respect for the customers. Certainly not a place I'd return to, especially for a special occasion like New Year's Eve. The food, however, was nothing special, even for a normal evening.
