A true gem of a diner. Up there with the famous Ruby's Diner in Schenectady. Great food, conversation. Because the people who run Palace Diner, are great people, like Ruby Michaelson was for Ruby's.

This is an old school hole-in-the-wall diner. If you don't feel conversational this may not be the place for you. The food is made from scratch--no kidding. The staff are family and so are you, the moment you step foot in the door. Then there's the food. OMG! Best homestyle cooking around. CASH ONLY so come prepared.

What can I say to get you to stop in...everyone acts like they've known you for years...and maybe they have. It is a great, warm atmosphere with some of the best entertainment to be had by listening to the locals banter back and forth. This is a classic diner in every way from the stainless steel walls to the worn out cutting board that won't let the eggs roll off or great for forming a hamburger. These guys will put the best spaghetti sauce on anything you like. And boy is it great. Try it on top of an omelet...every meal leaves you full and smiling!

Such a local, hometown place. The food is everything you would expect at a diner. It's cooked right there on the grill, hot, well seasoned, flavorful. It's a small place and everyone is friendly. The building is an authentic diner.

What a great little piece of Americana right here in Gloversville. Straight out of the 50s great little neighborhood Diner never been here before the waitress new Everybody by first name she was on point attentive the cook was amazing highly recommended.

A couple months ago I had a great meal at the Palace. I was so happy I started to sing loudly. Some really big tough lookin' guy said "Shut up!" Well, I don't hear well and I thought he said "STAND up !" So....after I got out of the hospital.........

I was passing thru and had breakfast here this morning. It was not only the best omelette I've ever had but also super friendly and vintage. The cook even had some homegrown peppers he asked if he could add in the omelette...yea that kind of place. Awesome locals chatting from the barstools and telling stories of the local history in leather works. As a truck driver I get to visit many places across the country for eats and there are ones you will always remember and ones you forget. The Palace Diner is a big win.

Great classic vintage diner. Good coffee, great big lunch specials. Fabulous old school American breakfasts, made how you like it. Open at 6 am on week-ends; Saturday is best, when Richie is cooking.

When I think of a cozy old diner nestled in the mountains, the Palace is it! The food is as excellent as the vibes. My friend loves the burgers. For me it’s the breakfast. I come up from Long Island to visit at least once a year and the Palace is always high on the priority list.

Was recently in the area and met up with a friend here. I can remember going to this place with my Grandfather before I ever went to school. Had the best Hash and Eggs(over medium), that ever passed my lips while I was there this time. Great staff, breakfast only, CASH ONLY. Not a tourist spot, but it's definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a great breakfast. Wish I got up there more often.

Brought a coloring book for kid, my other kid gifted her a colored page, and she put it on the wall... We came back on the 26th to eat another delicious breakfast before leaving town, but sadly, it was close... Anyway.. It was awesome!!

Treat yourself to a meal at this local train car diner nestled in the heart of historic downtown Gloversville. The attentive staff made us feel at home, our coffee cups never went below half empty, and the generous portions were delicious. If you stop in for breakfast I highly recommend their special cheese and mushroom omlette.

Go there. Its a small place, but the food is ALWAYS good. I've had breakfasts there--the sausage actually tastes like sausage. It's really good. I've had meatloaf and a hamburger, both were frickin awesome. The staff get to know you. I get greeted by name, and they remember that dairy is a no go for me. So, any time I ask for something that has dairy in it, they let me know. Great place to go. My favorite diner. Absolute favorite. The food is awesome and the people are even more awesome. The Italian Wedding Soup is to die for. Legit. Tuesday is soup day (that's when they have Italian Wedding Soup). My sister and I generally either go and eat the soup there, or we order pickup soup from there.

This place is a piece of Gloversville’s history. For 40+ years it’s been the same way as the owner told us, and I’ve lived here my whole life; never had the chance to go. Breakfast was good, the staff are SUPER friendly; food was hot and quick. Check it out when you can.

Ok, I feel a little ridiculous giving a diner 5 stars, because well, it's a diner. BUT if you compare this diner to other diners it's definitely a 5 star deal. This is the first restaurant I tried when I first moved to Gloversville since I live approximately 30 seconds from it and can literally smell the bacon from my backyard. Seriously, try to resist eating somewhere while you're smelling bacon wafting from its doors. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was very New York...what sounded like people yelling was really just their normal "inside voices" and there was lots of banter about the Giants. The waitress is also especially loud and friendly. Trust me, it just adds to the ambience. I had the open roast beef sandwich and my partner ordered bacon and pancakes. I give a solid yum! to everything we tried. The bacon was thick and crispy and the roast beef wasn't over done. Perfect. They remembered my order the next time I went in (ok, ok, it was the next day, but still) and I had the same delightful experience. I'm now limiting my open face roast beef intake, but so glad I found this place.

A hoot! Family run. So friendly. As strangers we were family. Homemade gravy , spaghetti sauce (grandma would approve). I had hot pork samdwich and hubby had hot turkey. The mashed potatoes were amazing. Gotta stop here.

Disappointed wasn’t open , they keep changing the hours so I never know when it’s open . We tried a few days ago but wasn’t open we went to the NY lunch around the corner. Sad because I liked going there not just for the food but because of the of the other customers .

Placed order on phone. Was told I'd be called when the order was started. After 45 minutes I decided to call. I was hung up on the first time and then the phone went straight to busy signals (off the hook). Place is a joke.

Food was just ok but upon walking in, all the customers and employees just look and my friend and I- because we where the only black people. But I've learned Gloversville is just a racist town as I was told from a white woman upon moving there. And I grew up I'm am all white rich town being the only minority family, so far from a racist just can't believe what I experienced living in this town for the short time that I did live there.

I just ordered $50 worth of food to have breakfast with my family and all of my food was burnt like this . Where have these cooks gone that are suppose to serve the customers with quality food ?!!?? So I do not recommend this place as a good breakfast for anybody because the quality and effort that went into this food was inconsiderate and even for the price I should have just bought the food myself and made breakfast
