Not sure how "eclectic" became part of the description of this place. It's more formal and upscale than anything else. Regardless, decently inventive food and a great pace of service; never rushed. If for nothing else, stop in to admire the gorgeous staff.

Fantastic! Every dish was delectable… baked oysters, lobster quesadillas, halibut, and lobster pasta! Service was impeccable (shout out to JC). Only regret was we were too full to experience the wonderful offerings for dessert!

WOW! Friskafella Oysters were amazing. Lobster Quesadilla also very good but serving size was much smaller than expected especially for $21 price. Very well executed concept and a great restaurant.

Short Rib was notable. Coconut Mignonette for raw oysters- insane (I don’t eat seafood, they were so good) Banana Dessert was delicious. Diogo (sp? - Portuguese) was a solid server, and his back captain had incredible recommendations as well. Highly recommend the Pomelo Que Mada Cocktail to start.

The service was amazing and the food, spectacular!!! Everything from the app to the espresso at the end. The server had great off-the-menu after dinner drink recommendations. The ahi tuna was cooked to perfection and the key lime pie melted in your mouth!!! 10/10

The most consistent, high quality kitchen in Greenport. Prefer to sit at the bar for a livelier experience but there are also lounge seats by the windows or tables tucked away for a more private experience. Great cocktails. Staff is fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It is expensive, to be sure. Prices went up during COVID and seem to have stayed.

As someone who grew up going out east on the North Fork, I've seen many things change. However, one of the best restaurants that has been brought by this change is The Frisky Oyster. This place fulfilled all the top points a fine dining restaurant strives for. The friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, attention to detail, and incredible high quality food really made our entire experience incredible. As the Farm to Table movement has gained speed, this restaurant has created an amazing menu, that has food provided by the local farms in the area. Most of the restaurants seem to be doing this with in the town of Greenport. However, The Frisky Oyster is one that does it fantastically. Lets start with the drinks. The bartender, Bianca, truly knew what she was doing.... and that's coming from someone who is a Bartender by trade. Her cocktails were on point. The Lemon Mojito, Old Fashioned, and Martini's that were enjoyed by our table were spot on, and exactly what you would want as your drink. She personally delivered our drinks to our table and was very warm and made us feel right at home. Our original server, Holly, was friendly and presentable. She was extremely sweet and attentive. She started us off with bread and Hawaiian salted butter, a small, but noticeable detail. We ordered the Grille Caesar salad to share, and chose our entrees as the Short Rib, Soft Shell Crab and a Pasta Dish, with lobster meat. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of all the dishes, but I will say, that everything was incredible, and portioned perfectly. We also decided to get a side order of the Truffle Parmesan fries, which came out smelling incredible. When Holly was leaving for the night, the other server Kyle, was just as amazing. Leaving us happy and equally as satisfied with his service. The French Fries were shoe string, which personally, are my favorite. After we decided to get the desert wine tasting and the vegan Tres Leches Cake. Chef Robby Beaver, brought the cake out to us. Chatting with us about the restaurant. Over all, the experience was amazing and worthy of note. The Ambiance was stunning and definitely made you want to return. I know I will be!

I have been here a number of times and I have trieed many things on the menu. All the entres are amazing and owth trying, the wagyu steak for 2 (pricey but worth it), the chicken with apple cider was delicious and unique, the short rib was standard but done really well. The duck sliders were insane!!!! I could eat the duck sliders every day. The deserts are also worthy of praise. The appetizers did not excite me too much so I hope they can improve on those offerings but overall really good.

The MOST delicious food I have ever tasted!! Friskafella appetizer is a MUST! Extremely generous pour of anazing and not too pricey red wine. Romantic, cozy atmosphere. Very attentive wait staff.

Was in town for work, saw the friskafella oysters on the menu online and had to go! Let me just say they lived up to their expectation 🔥 Shineapple express also delicious, if I wasn’t alone I would’ve had 1 (or 2) more! Shannon the bartender was wonderful and the service was quick. Highly recommend & will be back anytime I am in the area

Excellent ambience. Great service. DELISH food. Prosciutto wrapped figs appetizer was amazing. Spring rolls to die for. Great entree selection, very good wine list. Moden hip Vive, mixed with casual feel. Super cool. Upscale, eclectic. Super comfortable. Bet you'll love it.

We made reservations the night before for dinner on a Friday evening to celebrate my birthday. So happy with our choice! Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. We shared the calamari with Shishito peppers, my husband had the steak frites, and I had the scallops. Everything wa delicious!

Absolutely amazing food. Impecable service. Trendy incredibly good cocktails. Very romantic. I had the privilege to take my girlfriend on our first date here and it was truly amazing!!! Highly recommend

OMG - need I say more? My husband and I had dinner here several weeks ago (Dec. 2017). Service was great - the food fresh and delicious. I had a large green salad and lamb meatballs. Exquisite flavor! And the pecan pie . . . outstanding! Lots of pecans - minimum "filler" and crumbly crust. Just the way I like it. We'll see you again when we're back in Greenport!

Got to love Frisky. Eaten here multiple times and a disappointing night is when the food is only good. Nearly every experience here is a home run. Their duck burger needs to be on the dinner menu because I crave it beyond lunchtime.

Oh man. There aren't enough stars to say how good the Oyster Frikafella and Lobster Gigli pasta are. Those two dishes will live in my dreams forever. Truly perfection. The service and atmosphere were great too. Truly a highlight of our trip!

Year after year The Frisky Oyster continues to surpass expectations. From the warm greeting at the front door to the last bite of dessert everything is really really good! The cocktails are delicious, we usually go with the strawberry jalapeño margarita or Beaver Fever. For food, my favorites are the corn soup, oysters Friskafella ( a riff on Rockefeller), country salad (similar to a French country salad with frisée, bacon lardons, roasted garlic and Gorgonzola), duck spring rolls, chicken Milanese (with watermelon!) and the Wagyu Tomahawks steak. And don’t forget dessert—my go-tos are one of the fruit crumbles, strawberry shortcake, crème brûlée or the BEST key lime pie!

I love this place. I have been coming here since it opened. It has been and still is one of my favorite restaurants in Greenport. I love the Oysters Friskafella, I never share, but encourage anyone else to get their own, especially those who are hesitant about eating oysters. As an innkeeper, I have recommended hundreds of guests there and I can say that 99.9% of them are very satisfied. The food, the service, the ambiance are all excellent and have been consistently so since the inception. Robby is a great chef and runs an exceptional restaurant.

We have been going here for years and the restaurant is one of our favorites. The staff made our night very special last night while we were celebrating our engagement. The whole staff greeted us and congratulated us on our recent engagement. Even the owner/chef came to the table to congratulate us and talk to us about the menu. If you like steak, get the wagyu steak- it’s amazing. They took fantastic precautions given the Covid situation (indoor seating spaced out and all staff wearing Masks over nose). Highly recommended!! I hope to go back soon

From start to finish the best meal we've ever had! We decided to celebrate our 25th anniversary here and made a great choice. It started with the perfectly poured martini, followed by oysters Friskofella and tuna egg rolls...simply the best! We ordered the scallops and the blackened halibut sandwich for entrees and once again did not disappoint...add two more bests-ever to the list. There was no way we could pass on dessert after the first two courses, so we split the key lime pie and you guessed it...another best! Kelly, our server, made the entire experience absolutely perfect with great recommendations and impeccable service! We found our new spot for anniversary dinners for the next 25 years God willing!

A wonderful Valentine's dinner. Beautifully prepared and presented. The tables are very cosy, wish our neighbors realized they could talk to one another a few decibels lower. Short ribs were delicious, the halibut was lovely. Worth every penny.

The staff members were delightful and attentive, the food creative and DELICIOUS (but not overly fussy), the setting beautiful and comfortable. We had the type of meal and experience that reminded us of why it can be a real pleasure to eat out. The crispy calamari salad was exactly as described and yet together became this completely unexpected delight. Their signature oysters were amazing. Cocktails were well balanced.

Everything about The Frisky Oyster restaurant in Greenport, is fantastic, from the ambiance to the drinks, to the food and service. The bartender whipped two great cocktails; a WARD and a Cosmo. Our server was friendly and very attentive. They always have a great sized, reasonably priced menu, all sourced locally and everything was fresh and delicious. The popular appetizer “Oysters Friskafeller“ made for a great start. For the main, I had the Halibut on heirloom tomato - light and fresh. Hubby had the Seared Sea Scallops soft, flaky, and moist. The ending of the pecan pie with homemade ice cream finished us off…. Literally! The restaurant itself is cozy and is kept very clean. Once again, just as in past visits, we left very pleased and eager for a return visit. Frisky is ALWAYS a highlight to our summer visit on the North Fork. We look forward to it every year!

I have been to The Frisky Oyster about 8 times now and currently planning our next visit. Every meal has been spot on superb. No matter what we order , it is always delish. I have brought friends along with us to dine and everyone agrees best restaurant on the North Fork. Very impressive. The food is always consistent. The plates are pretty and presented beautifully. As for the service, I’ve been fortunate to get the best server, “Bianca” not only does she remember what you like every time you come, she is an incredible bartender too. Is there anything this girl can’t do? She never has to write down your order, she remembers everything. The food is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I’d rather spend more and be insured a great dining experience than spend money on a so so meal. You need to check this restaurant out or maybe I shouldn’t leave such a great review hoping that I have this amazing dining spot all to myself. All kidding aside special restaurant great food, great drinks, great staff, cool vibe.

The service was amazing and so professional ☺️ we were seated immediately and had a beautiful dinner. It is pricey and I think some of the food came out more warm than hot. Drinks are also $15-26 for cocktails. Atmosphere is pleasant and it was a nice place. Oysters come a bit small and the sauce is more on the sweet side.

This fine dining establishment was amazing. Our server was a friendly courteous young man named Jordan. He was very professional and accommodating. The Frisky Oyster beats any restaurant in nyc, south fork and north fork. The food is always tasty and fresh. The staff is friendly polite and knowledgeable about the menu. If they make recommendations definitely take it. The ambience is spectacular. Deserves a Michelin star for sure.

Food was delicious. The coconut mingonette was a perfect compliment to the raw oysters. The oyster friskafella was delectable and full of flavor. Main dishes hit the mark as well. Finished it off with a dubai pistachio chocolate cake..yum Service was top notch as well! Well done Frisky oyster!

My choice was between the halibut or Tuna, but I chose the Tuna after the suggestion from the waitress. It was a great suggestion and an absolutely amazing meal. We also had two types of Oysters as appetizers that were great. My girlfriend had the scallop which she also loved. We were disspointed with the mixed cocktail.

Enjoyed dinner last Saturday night with my wife. We were early birds and got a seat in a corner behind the bar. It was a great seat as it was private but close to the action. We have enjoyed this restaurant for years and just love it. Starts with the beautiful dinning room and the food is par excellence. I ordered a fun appetizer oyster friskotella a fun take on oysters Rockefeller. It’s always a great change up to eat cooked oysters in a sauce. Not exactly sure what the difference is but this dish is the best. A must have if you like oysters. A good option for the summer months (months without an ‘r’). So the main entree was LI duck of course cooked medium. I like ordering LI duck when I’m on Long Island. I expected a great dish but little did I know I would get the best LI duck dinner ever. I ordered it cooked medium hints of pink is what was served and to date the most tender duck I ever ate. I guess it was a little luck of the duck! Anyway great restaurant and certainly worth going out of your way to visit!

The atmosphere is great and the food was amazing. Having gone now that restaurants are finally open post-covid shutdow , all of the staff was doing a great job with wearing masks and gloves; the seating seemed to be at half capacity as well. They were accommodating with food allergies and the vibe was very relaxing. All staff were so polite and friendly. Will definitely be back.

I went to this place many years ago and thought it was one of the best if not the best restaurant in all of Greenport. As I return again for the upteenth time this sentiment remains very true. Tucked away near the docks in the heart of town lies this wonderful place. The stylishly printed walls of this dimly lit restaurant mark for a chic and intimate experience. The food is inspired and has some real signature highlights. The oysters friskafella are absolutely to die for. As an avid fan of oysters rockerfeller this fun twist doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but improves it. Our entrees were perfect and my scallops seemingly vanished. This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Long Island. Can’t wait to go again.

Just went here for my anniversary with my fiancée. This place was insanely good. Apologies for the low light pics, we were in the back corner but the ambience was immense. Every cocktail we had was super tasty, and because of this place, we’ve been making a lot of spicy watermelon margaritas. We started with the grilled lobster quesadilla, which was very good and moved on to the peconic gold oyster friskafella which was insanely good. Seriously. Absolutely PACKED with flavor, and a must have when going. Next, we had the lobster gigli pasta which I thought was tasty, but the real star of the show for the entrees was the pomegranate bbq beef short ribs. I’m a short rib fan, and I thought the pomegranate sauce they used was a perfect compliment. We also subbed the cauliflower purée for creamy garlic polenta, which is definitely the way to go in my opinion. I thought this place was perfect. Service was good, cocktails were great, and the food was amazing and flavorful. Check this place out for a special dinner, or just a regular one if you’re in the mood for a damn good meal.

My husband and I went to dinner for our anniversary and had a lovely time. The food was amazing and our server, Cara, was so attentive and sweet. Our cocktails were well made. I had the chopped vegetable salad and it might be the best salad I’ve ever had! The owner even sent over a complimentary serving of their signature item, oysters friskafella, for our special occasion. We just wanted to say thank you to the gracious staff and for providing such a wonderful experience.

I'm not sure why there have been so many recent negative results for The Frisky Oyster. I actually think that Frisky was better than another more highly rated restaurant in town. The atmosphere is moody and not sterile. The service is attentive and also friendly. Our food was very delicious and inventive. Clearly a nice restaurant and definitely recommend this for a special occasion or just a great dinner.

This has been on our list to try! We happened to be in Greenport and were looking for a place for dinner! The online reservations said they were booked with only later availability! I decided to call directly and they had openings! Plus when we got there at 6 there was plenty of open tables so don’t rely on the online reservations as they may say booked and they aren’t. This place is super pretty and has a cool bar vibe plus front seating which opens to the outdoors. We sat towards the back and although the tables for 2 were somewhat close I APPRECIATED that because it wasn’t packed they spaced out the parties of 2. I never understand why they seat parties of 2 right next to each other when there are plenty of other party of 2 tables available. I sometimes will not frequent a restaurant with tight quarters because it’s like you are dining with strangers where they hear everything you say and vice versa, which is so not ideal 😝. But anyway, this place was great and did not disappoint!!! It is on the dark side inside so you may have to use your iPhone flashlight like we did! Our server was super great, knowledgeable and offered recommendations when we asked! We ended up going with the salad (I forget the name but it had bacon), def the Oysters topped with some goodness, the pork chop and the scallops!! And of course a kettle one martini! Overall EVERYTHING was DELISH!!! So happpppy we came here! We skipped on dessert as the hubs wanted to get ice cream in town. When we left about 7:15 ish the place was starting to get busy but still a nice cool chill vibe that definitely wasn’t overwhelming! If you are in the area I definitely recommend you check it out!! I rate this a legit 5 star restaurant in Greenport on the North Fork!! 💖💪🏻💖💪🏻

Five-Star Review for The Frisky Oyster A true culinary gem! The creative American dishes with a kick of spicy flavor are absolutely incredible, and you can truly taste the fresh, local ingredients. It is essential to make a reservation! It is a good idea to get there a bit early and grab a drink at the bar. Drinks are great and be prepared to pay $24 for a cocktail 🍹 but you won't be disappointed. Chit chat with bar buddies. Great environment. Bartenders and waitresses are all very accommodating. As so many restaurants are no longer bringing bread to the table, this establishment brings warm bread with salted butter. Delicious 😋. It was tough to make a choice for my entree as everything sounded delicious! I chose the shrimp with ramen 🍜. I was really satisfied with my choice. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The broth and veggies complimented the entire dish. We also ordered the sea scallops. Done perfectly! We ended with two desserts. A pecan pie which was absolutely amazing and a chocolate hazelnut cake. All the desserts are made on premises. They have a pastry chef. We were not rushed. They are one of the restaurants in Greenport that are open late. I am looking forward to going here again !

Very good food and service. Somewhat pricy, especially for steak entrees. Before going know that no Covid precautions were being taken. Service staff does not wear masks and inside tables are no more than 3 feet apart. If this is not an issue a nice restaurant to check out while in Greenport.

I went here for a special dinner with a family member. The service was absolutely outstanding and the food was quite good. However, I would not say the food was outstanding, and the prices here suggest that you will be served a dish that is beyond compare. The food was good. Not excellent.

Nice to see Greenport a little less crowded during the winter. Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Our first cocktails were 1 out of 3. 2 of us had to send them back and settle for Belvedere martinis. Good not great. Then the appetizers came and all was forgiven. The Oysters Friskafella were so good, we ordered them twice. Just barely cooked fresh oyster with garlic and melted cheese in the shell. The tuna tartare was served with puréed avocado and was more of a poke style, but tasted fresh and served what seems to be freshly made crinkle cut potato chips. I had lobster gigli which is like a twisted penne pasta, fresh fresh lobster and a Meyer lemon vodka sauce. Outstanding. The chicken entree was well liked by one of our guests and another actually had the fried calamari as an entree which was delicious and served with blistered peppers. The fresh local duck breast was the winner. Absolutely perfectly cooked, crispy skin, delicious cherry sauce. The desserts were a disappointment. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Warning, drinks are $15 and they charge an additional $2 for martini, claiming it’s a bigger pour. Nonsense.

Some things were phenomenal while others could have been better. Service was attentive and friendly. The highlights were the lobster quesadilla and the scallops. The corn chowder was a bit bland and not worth a try.

B
Bill Packer

Very good to excellent food. Desserts are not to be missed, so try! to save room. Service was inconsistent and the staff needs some training to truly merit the price point. E.g., bringing three entrees and then ... 10+ minutes later to bring the fourth entree or to have us sit for nearly 20 minutes waiting for our cocktails.. without bread or water... It may stem from the fact that on our very packed saturday night, the owner was not onsite. Tables were too crowded together, there was no way for the staff to move to and from the kitchen without constantly bumping my chair.

D
David Josephson

One of my most favorite restaurants on the East end. Generally reliably fantastic food. Only gripe is my New Years Eve dinner, did not live up to the mamny other times I have been there. Worse yet, I sent a postal letter to the owners as well as a Voice Mail and emailing, NO ONE even shown me the respect of getting back to me! But alas, this was one of two out of dozens of great experiences.

J
JRP

Amazing food and solid service. Expensive - great for a nice dinner but count on $100 per person if you get drinks, apps and entrees. The air conditioning was blasting though and made for a chilly dinner and our chairs keep getting bumped from people walking by. For the price point these shouldn't have been issues. We would return and just ask to sit at a less crowded table (and bring a sweater!)

D
Daniel Chen

Fresh and delicious oysters. Caesar salad with anchovies is flavorful. Cauliflower quinoa cake and scallop with risotto are also quite good and worth a try. Service is friendly and attentive, albeit a little slow due to completely full restaurant. Reasonably priced wines.

Probably the nicest Restaurant in Greenport. Also, the priciest and hardest to get into. Reservations are a must! Everyone wants to try this place. Everything is done just a little bit different from another restaurant. Check out the picture of the salt and pepper for the table, so cool! The large piece of butter they serve with the rustic Italian table bread has "Hawaiian Salt" flowing over the side, see picture. Now they call this place the Frisky Oyster. However, oysters are not really abundant on the menu. In fact I had to look several times to see if they even had oysters. Of course, they did. I got the only oyster appetizer that was offered, at least on the night I went. Now these little suckers, see picture, were amazing. The best $25 bux for 6 tiny oysters. A little disappointing as I was finished with my appetizer in about 34 secounds. I could have eaten about 100 of these bad boys. Ok that being said, I ordered the Beef filet with lobster risotto. I had ordered it rare, it came to my table charred and more then well done. Our server, Kyle had it replaced for me without hesitation. When I did get my rare filet it was amazing! Back to Kyle, he was very personable and engaging. He invited us to try things we weren't sure if we would like and he said if we didn't like whatever we tried he would take it back and let us try something else. Needless to say we liked everything. I'm knit picking here, but the tables are very close together and you can easily hear word for word what the people are saying at adjacent tables , which means they can hear you! Be careful what you say. It was a little annoying when the people sitting next to me what ask the waiter what are they having? And a pointing finger would be over my table. Yes, that's how close the tables are. Overall a very good experience and I will return. Visiting Greenport? Make sure you make your reservation prior to your visit to the town. For a couple, drinks, appetizers, 6 puny oysters, and 2 main courses, be prepared to drop $250+ Boom!

The hubs and I came here one night for the first time and we loved it. Everything in town was closed and they were the only ones open later than other spots. The atmosphere can be a bit intimidating but once you get past that idea, its super comfy. Service was fast and staff was friendly. Aside from coming here because they were the only ones open, we came for oysters and drinks. Sadly, they only had two options on the menu for oysters. I was hoping they would have more options with oysters given that their name is Frisky Oyster. The drinks were amazing and the prices were pretty high BUT look at the location. Would we come here again? Maybe but not any time soon.

For starters, the menu online is no where near what was offered. Now I try to be understanding that times aren't the greatest, however, you will notice that things are not what was remembered. If you are looking for being mask shamed, this is the place. I was so bummed because I was the one who suggested coming here for our anniversary. At $280, I feel I could have spent this some where else with a better experience.

We arrived early and were told that they normally won’t take children under 6 years of age but since we had a reservation they let us stay. So the host made my wife uncomfortable from the start with that comment. Then they expected us to hold our 1 year old because they don’t have high chairs so I had to drive back to our hotel to get my daughter seating. It took me about 15 minutes during that time nobody came to the table and asked my wife is she wanted anything. If you don’t want children then state that on your website and maybe take the child wearing the tee shirt off the site.

As a full time resident of the North Fork it may come as a surprise that we had never dined at the Frisky Oyster. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised and commented how nice it was. Salad was amazing! Dinner (short ribs) were a little dry and lack luster. What surprised and annoyed us the most is that when our plates were cleared we sat amd talked with our friends for 5 or 10 mins until the hostess came to table and told us how busy they were and stated that they needed the table. Not sure we will return which is a shame as we love to support our local businesses.

I have been to the Frisky Oyster a few times and have always liked the food. As this was a 75th Birthday, my family of 4 made a reservation for 8:30 on a Saturday night. I was disappointed that the menu on line didn't match the menu offered at the restaurant. I was looking for the Lamb and it was not offered. Thus I had to settle for something else. Booo Because of the very loud Bar upfront it was hard to have a conversation. Also we wanted over 35 minutes to be seated. So much for a reservation. The waitress we had was barely available and we waited a long time for the food, which was good when it finally arrived 35-40 minutes after we ordered. I have always liked the Frisky Oyster, but after this experience, I wouldn't go back. There are plenty of other restaurants in Greenport to choose from.

This place is deff overrated. Drinks were excellent though. Besides that everything is just over priced and just a tad above average. Tomahawk steak for 2 was burnt and over cooked. the $ 20.00 for 2 sides of fries. Saggy , cold and no flavor. Sprouts were pretty good. Atmosphere average, service soooooo slow. Not like they were busy only 4 tables in the restaurant at 7pm. That should tell you everything u need to know. So many better options every where you go.

We went with two other couples all whom enjoy a fine dining meal and experience on the regular back and came for an overnight getaway. While the atmosphere is intimate, the service is sub par and the food hit or miss. Our waitress had little care to be serving and could hardly spit out a thank you at the end. The cocktails are nothing to rave about and it stings at the cost of $25-30 a drink. I even over heard another couple complaining about the same. An appetizer for a deviled egg with a twist was $19 for ONE egg. While some meals were very good such as the duck, the steak was charred for what we would think was cooked on a George Foreman grill in the back. We all had high expectations given the creativity of the menu and prices but were wildly underwhelmed and will not be returning nor recommending in the future.

The service is outstanding - everyone is attentive and friendly. They're familiar with the menu and give great guidance. It's a beautiful spot - moodier than most restaurants on the North Fork. A great choice for a romantic night. They have a good cocktail menu and nice wine list. The food was disappointing but hopefully it was just an off night.

The food, drinks and service do not warrant the price tag. While the overall experience was fine, you expect a better experience & flavor for a restaurant charging $24 for a cocktail and $35 for quinoa cakes. Understanding that they are working with expensive ingredients such as scallops, there’s a lack of attention to overall flavor and seasoning. For example, the blood orange margarita tasted like they opened a can of blood orange seltzer and mixed it with tequila - for $23. The service was also fine but did not create a welcoming & helpful atmosphere. For example, my partner spilled water on the table and himself. While happy to clean it up ourselves, it took several tries to flag down waitstaff to get more napkins. Even then, they did not offer to help. The table next to us had to offer us their napkins. Overall, there’s better food spots in Greenport.

Had my birthday dinner this past weekend at The Frisky Oyster. Everyone at the table loved the food! The crab cakes, charred prawns and short ribs were delicious! The service on the other hand was terrible. Someone took our order and came back two more times to confirm what we ordered. Our waitress was not attentive at all! The restaurant was not even that busy at 9pm…I expected better!

This place was recommended by friends who go to greenport often. We had to push our reservation from 8:00 till 9:00 unfortunately because of traffic from the city. We arrived on time. The service on the floor staff was very gracious and pleasant. The bartender yelling across the room to the hostess at about 9:25 asking if the 9:00 reservation had arrived was unnecessary. These are conversations that you have quietly when you're in the hospitality business. We enjoyed the oysters Friskafella and the truffle fries Rest of the food was okay. It was hard to find the lobster in the lobster quesadilla and the salsa had browned out avocado in it. The chicken Milanese was overly browned in an unsightly manner but the meat was not dry. It did have a nice watermelon feta salad underneath it. The tomato gratin was moltenly hot and mostly bread crumbs. The frisee salad was very unpleasant looking. It was overdressed with a brownish dressing that made it look very unappetizing. Plus, the pancetta chunks were like pork rocks. They were hard from being overcooked.

Service good... Food not.. 3 out of 4 of us hated our food. Very disappointing, looked forward to it because I had a great meal there 3 years ago. Im still mad at myself for not returning it back to the kitchen !

Appetizers were bland, soup lacked seasoning and food was the same. Lobster in the pasta was a bit rubbery, other dishes were terribly underseasoned, etc. Not nearly good enough for the near nyc price point. It was $500 for four people and this was for a birthday - very disappointed.

My extended family loves this spot so I end up coming here a lot. I want to love it, and don’t get me wrong the service is lovey. But the food is wildly overpriced for always being okay. I’ve never had one dish here that I was impressed with let alone happy about. It’s always okay for the price. And I’ve never been able to get my steak to be cooked at the temperature I like (I’m Latina and a medium rare kinda girl). Lovely location, lovely service, and people come here because it’s so central and stylish - but if you’re looking to pay for an expensive meal that will blow your socks off- this isn’t it. It will be good and it will be more expensive than any of the other spots in the area. So it’s totally up to you if that’s the vibe you want. The specialty is the friskafella and that’s unique to this spot. Those are worth trying for sure.

We were seated in a walkway and asked to be moved only to be told the rest were for reservations, but we had reservations too. Waitress was kind. Drinks were so so. Appetizers were good. The 2 entrees I tried were very bland and under seasoned. Definitely not worth the price.

Went to the frisky oyster two consecutive years. First year everything was fantastic. So for our second wedding anniversary we decided to return. Big mistake. Main course was excellent. The appetizer and dessert were not so good, I rarely make a review but our dinner tonight was so below average I had to comment. The waitress did not check on how the dinner was once, the bus boys were more attentive and at the end when she saw the non eaten desert there was no inquiry over why we didn't touch it. We will not be returning. No reason to pay so much money for terrible service there are way to many places with good waitstaff to have dinner at.

Well after high recommendation we decided to try tonight and unfortunately disappointed, my blacked bass sandwich the bread was so hard Couldn’t eat it, the fries were about the same as Macdonalds quality, the appetizer chopped salad was like cole slaw, the Caesar salad was not all all interesting, the only thing good was my husbands tuna roll and his lobster pasta, but good by no means special; the service was good our waiter was helpful. that was the first and last time , I am not sure if the waiter asked how our food was but I should have complained as it was nowhere near what I would say worth 100 pp.

So coming in being in the service industry, I like to give a little bit of grace. Our appetizers were great. Server was a bit ignorant on the wine list. We ordered the $250 wagu ribeye medium rare and it came out cold and inedible. It was freezing and extremely rare. We sent it back, and it came back the second time microwaved. $250 wagu in the microwave? Unacceptable. The chef brought it to the table and was inhospitable, unaccommodating and basically told us that it was cooked how we asked. We will definitely not be back to the frisky oyster, as we’d prefer to eat oysters on the side of the road, and a steak from a steakhouse where we trust we are getting what we pay for. Would have given 1 star, but our server was sweet and we know staffing is hard right now.

I’m giving the restaurant a 2-star rating because although the food was good, the server disappeared and never came back - ruining the experience. We’d give it one star, but because the food was delicious, I had to bump it up a star. After getting our drinks, the server never came back to our table and we never saw her in the dining room again. After getting our entrees and finishing eating, the man bussing our table asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. Once we got that, we sat for 30 minutes without anybody coming to check if we wanted anything. Another server saw us looking around and she brought our check. After waiting another 10 minutes & visibly looking around, that other server finally came back to close out our bill. Horrible experience. For the price we paid, that is not the service we expected. As for the food & drinks… we recommend the Shineapple Express & Pink Panther if you like sweeter drinks. The grilled Caesar salad was OK, but not our favorite. The Lobster Gigli pasta was delicious and so was the Pomegranate BBQ Short Ribs (sweet/fruity BBQ flavor).

This was terrible experience all around. Service was slow and borderline rude. They clearly need to hire more/better people during busy times. Of our 4 person party 2 people felt very sick after dinner… they had oyster friskafellar and lobster pasta.

I’ve been here multiple times, but tonight was the first time I’ve been here in nearly a year. I waited over 30 minutes for a drink and they gave me the wrong one. My entree arrived soon after and I wanted to have a red wine while I eat and they refused because I haven’t finished my first drink which I just received. The bartender then got in a public argument with another patron who wanted a drink because they had their young son with them, even though he wasn’t at the bar. I’ve never walked out of a restaurant before, but this is the closest I’ve ever come to walking out. I certainly will never go here again.

If i could give a lower score then a 1 star I would. The food was terrible, the service unspeakable. I would never recommend this place. Went there for a birthday dinner and the waitress we had paid no attention to us. She was to busy talking to the other staff at the bar. The food was a joke. The so called grilled cesar salad was a chunk of lettuce they burnt through some kind of ceasr dressing on it ( which look liked vomit). The short ribs had no flavor what so ever. Like i stated in the start if i was able to rate this place lower then a 1 star i would give it a negative score.

Snobby and disrespectful, overpriced food. Called the restaurant to make reservations and the only available time was 10:30 pm. We were done with our day at around 9 and basically waited for an hour and a half to eat there. As soon as we came in we were greeted by the “owner”. As soon as they saw my two well behaved kids we were told that we had to leave because of some BS no kids after 6 policy. Conveniently the “owner” disappeared and didn’t even have the decency to let us know himself, he had the hostess break the news to us. Unreal! If there is such a policy you need to let your customers know ahead of time on the phone. It was so late that most places were already closed and we scrambled to find another place to have dinner in. This snobby behavior is outrageous. We live in NYC and have been to Michelin star restaurants who welcomed my kids any time or day. Who do you think you are? You don’t want my kids or my money – one star. I would give it zero if I had the option.

Been there several times, first time was great then progressively went down hill. Wifey's duck was not cooked enough and the skin was mushy. I had the scallops (4)that was at best luke warm. Dinners are a bit overpriced but that's okay if everything is cooked to perfection. We emailed to let them know that the last few dining experiences were not eventful at all. No answer for approximately two weeks and when they did reply all they said was speak to the chef. Ha Ha, what makes them think that we're coming back to the Frisky Oyster. Tried giving them several chances but not happy, sorry. There are lots of other restaurants.

Went here for the first time in July at 5 pm right when they opened. It was quiet and food was good. On sept 1 we wanted to come back again since we like it the first time. We called to make reservations and the only time they had was at 10:30. We took it because we really wanted to go back. We got there at 10pm because we were hungry and so were the kids. We were turned away due to some bs no kids policy after 6 pm. Um what? 1. Nobody asked us when we made reservations if were with kids. (How do you not mention this policy when taking reservations?) 2. All other restaurants were closed by this time and had we known we could’ve had dinner hours ago. We specifically waited for this restaurant. Stay away if you have kids (which is the majority of people). I can’t even believe this happened to a place I used to have a good opinion about. All we got was a sorry, the owner doesn’t even have his kids in here passed 6pm. Well thanks lady, that helps. The owner told the hostess to turn us away. He didn’t even have the decency to tell us himself.

The restaurant messed up our reservation for 8 and said we only booked for 6. Then refused to seat us. And then charged us $150 after the manager told us we wouldn’t be charged. Horrible customer service; and if that’s the case I can only imagine what the food is like. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

So disappointed. Went for my birthday. We got our wine and everyone forgot about us and did not take our order. People around us got food and we were ignored! Will never go back again.

The hostess was unbelievably rude. She absolutely should not be in the service industry. We walked up 2 mins before 5. She asked us to please go back outside and wait two mins. So we did as instructed. It was just a light drizzle so we didn’t mind waiting outside. Then as we were waiting, per her instruction, people walked past us and sat at the bar. We then walked in to ask the hostess and she said to us and the other people that were also respectfully following her ask, “as you can see our bar is at capacity so I can’t seat you at the bar.” So because we were respectful and followed what she said now we didn’t have a place to sit. So we, and the others, left.

The prices online do not reflect the prices on the menu!! After sitting down, my family had to go somewhere else, because the prices were way out of our budget. Instead of a $45 45-day dry-aged prime ribeye with steak frites as depicted online, there was only a $90 filet with lobster or a $250 45 oz wagyu tomahawk ribeye with steak frites. They even lied about the price of their fries. Instead of $9, they were $15!!

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but over the last few years the restaurant went really downhill. We used to come from an hour a way to the restaurant for birthdays anniversaries and many celebrations. The last experience turned me off forever. It took over an hour to get our entrees. When they finally came out everything was so over salted it was practically inedible. There was no apology nothing. Chef Robbie came out and was very arrogant. A normal restaurant would have apologized, brought a free drink dessert nothing. After being such loyal customers for so long after the way Robbie treated us that night, we are done with the restaurant and will tell all our friends who we recommended the restaurant to about our experience. I strongly suggest you go somewhere else unless you want overpriced oversalted food served by an obnoxious chef.

Same experience with waiting as other reviewer, Allen Davidson. We arrived right on time for our 8:30pm reservation by 8:55 we left. At first we were told by the hostess that “ tables were being reset so it would be a few minutes”. The hostess didn’t check in with us once and we couldn’t track her down as she kept disappearing to the back of the dining room. At 8:55 she was back at the stand and I inquired about our table and got the same “it’ll be a few minutes” with a massive side of attitude like I was doing something wrong to ask again. We walked right out. My phone rang a few minutes later and she said our table was ready. I said “why would we dine here? It’s going to be an expensive meal and if the service is anything like what we have experienced so far it’s going to be an awful experience”. She didn’t apologize. Didn’t suggest we should come back because service is great. She simply repeated “I’m calling because your table is ready”. What awful service—we will never return!!!

Valentine’s Day Massacre This was the worst dining experience of my life. My husband made reservations a month in advance, 8pm reservation. We were finally seated at 8:50. We were starving so ordered right away, waited an hour and a half for our food. The worst part is the waitress came to take our order and was never to be seen again. Couldn’t get another drink if we tried. My husband liked his wagu (despite the fact he had to eat it with a butter knife, 64 dollar steak with no steak knife provided) my short ribs came out cold, no flavor and all fat. We then went to find the waitress to get the check and asked why she had not came to see us in 2 hours, she obviously forgot. 25 mins later still no check. I was almost tempted to walk out at this point. We were told it’s a chef in training, clearly not going to be the same quality it used to be. I’ve never posted a review of a restaurant it was that bad.

Half of our party, entered de frisky oyster and ordered drinks. Before receiving those drinks, the rest of our party joined and we’re standing near them. Shortly after the bartender, barely looking at us stated I’m not serving you. Your party is too large and then pretty much walked away. Evidently they have a policy where you cannot stand near the bar. It’s my very strong opinion that they need to have someone greet you at the door and tell you that there’s not enough seats for you and therefore you cannot stay or they need to tell you or handle the situation much differently. when I say that the bartender was extremely rude, it is an understatement

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Had heard good things. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Shannon, was incredibly rude. Didn’t acknowledge us and we had to ask him several times for a drink (and there was only 3 other people at the bar). When he finally came over he bluntly asked what we wanted and we got 2 drinks and 2 apps. Didn’t check in with us or ask us if we wanted more drinks (which we would have had) and offended the couple next to us so they left right away. Food was good (recommend the sweet corn soup) but won’t be back because the service was so bad. Told the hostess and I think the couple next to us told her as well. In a small town like Greenport service matters.
