Ottimo locale, servizio impeccabile.
Sempre meglio prenotare. Cibi tipici, buon vino e birra artigianale. Eravamo una tavolata di 8, compresi 2 bimbi. Personale gentile e presente. Ottimi gli gnocchi. Ambiente tipico, con molti particolari. Presenti molte salette e un'ampia zona esterna. Possibilità di parcheggio dedicato.
**"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Affittacamere Genzianella – the food was delicious, fresh, and lovingly prepared, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Absolutely recommended for anyone who appreciates peace, hospitality, and excellent cuisine."** Our stay at Affittacamere Genzianella was a complete success. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, and the service is lovingly served. Friendly service and a warm atmosphere complete the experience – we'd love to come back!
Rustic but very, very clean place. The flowers hanging on the walls and all the little hearts and tinsel hanging from the windows and ceiling looked like they'd just been purchased and arranged that very morning! The waitresses were quick and kind! And if we want to talk about the food...well...there's nothing to say! All we can say is COMPLIMENTS!!!! 10 out of 10!
A welcoming restaurant with a warm atmosphere. The staff is spectacular and helpful (there were three of us, including two guests with food intolerances, and everyone was satisfied without any problems). The food is phenomenal: perfectly balanced, with every nuance and aroma expertly balanced, creating a true feast for the palate. Congratulations!
A truly beautiful, typical mountain restaurant. The food is good, with excellent local products. The setting, reminiscent of a beautiful mountain hut, is very welcoming and relaxing. If you go to Gressoney, it's a must-see. We always go there during the beer festival, and there's a DJ set with music during the aperitif. At times, the place is really packed, but despite that, the service is always quick and very friendly, and the people are easy-going and easy to chat with.
A very well-kept and welcoming place. Excellent traditional Aosta Valley dishes, including polenta accompanied by various meats and game. The desserts are homemade, and the staff is very friendly. We spent about €40 each for an appetizer shared between two, a main course each, a liter of wine, dessert, water, and coffee. We'll be back to try other dishes.
An exquisite, welcoming, and warm atmosphere. The service is excellent. The dishes are delicious. I tried the typical gnocchi from the Gressoney Valley for the first time, with saffron, speck, and onion. Then we ordered the polenta concia with sausage and porcini mushrooms (the photo is a half portion because I said I'd share it with my husband, and the chef was super kind). But in my opinion, the best dish is the Valdostana soup. It warms the heart. Generous portions. I would return to try the desserts: they looked wonderful!
Nice resto, delicious fish, with amazing view
THE BEST IN THE AREA We insisted on having lunch here because, unfortunately, the restaurant was closed the night before. Our persistence paid off handsomely; it's undoubtedly the best restaurant serving traditional cuisine in the area! The atmosphere is very welcoming, with truly charming decor that creates a pleasant, carefree atmosphere. The dishes are all better than the last (perhaps the carne salada carpaccio was the only one with a dull flavor), but the gnocchi with Blue d'Aoste fondue are something to die for! The portion size was a challenge, but we couldn't stop eating until our plates were empty (and, incidentally, some shanks, which we hadn't ordered, were being passed around the dining room, and they tasted more like dinosaurs than pork). We had to forgo dessert, but not the digestif, which, given its name, had to be an excellent gentian liqueur. The value for money is perhaps unbeatable, at just over €30 per person for unparalleled abundance and flavor. The service was almost impeccable, and the owners were incredibly kind, and they didn't chase us away even though we lingered chatting after lunch.
I migliore. Probably one of the best meals i have ever had. Beautiful place, friendly staff and venison and polenta to die for . Outstanding!!!!
Best food in town :-)
Once upon a time, a family was visiting Gressoney, more precisely Castel Savoia (a quick tip: go there, it's really worth it). It's said that after their visit, they were hungry and were looking for a place to eat. They found this little place before heading home and stopped. Jokes aside, La Genzianella is really cute. The interior is all wood (I've attached a few photos) like a true mountain restaurant. There's also a small reserved parking lot outside, but just five minutes further down (a 10-minute walk) you'll find a huge, completely free parking lot. The staff is really super friendly, and the service is quick. The food is delicious, the portions are more than generous, and the price is more than fair. In short, a highly recommended food stop if you're passing through 👍 Pictured: polenta concia, homemade tagliatelle with venison ragù, carbonada with polenta, strudel (the best ever), coffee panna cotta + coffee with biscuits
Only very warm fillngs, when I remember my stayng in this nice and peaceful place! Madam owner and personnel was very friendly, finest citchen with perfect local delicious! I'm think to come back in this place once. Thank you!
A typical mountain restaurant, located just before Gressoney, right on the roadside, with convenient private parking. The kitchen offers a variety of dishes, including both polenta concia and polenta, tagliatelle with venison ragù, gnocchi, and Valdostan soup. Main courses include pork shank, sliced beef, and carbonada, as well as various appetizers such as vegetable flan, lard and chestnuts, and traditional cured meats. The interior is welcoming and well-furnished, making you feel right at home in the mountains. All wood, with a beautiful ceiling decorated with inlaid hearts and stars, as well as many traditional objects from the Aosta Valley. The waitresses are kind and friendly. Good food, fast service, and reasonable prices. The restaurant also offers guesthouses and a bar. Recommended.
Excellent restaurant, even outside of ski season. Attentive and cheerful service. The atmosphere is warm and quaint, in typical Aosta Valley style. The menu is a bit limited, with relatively few dishes. The kitchen is quick to prepare the dishes, many of which are served in single-serving terrines. The cured meats are excellent, but the chestnut appetizer is a bit more banal. The polenta taragna with porcini mushrooms didn't convince me; it was a bit banal. The price is fair.
We stopped here for lunch because we had a two-hour wait for our visit to the Savoy Castle (just ahead). The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff friendly, but the food could be improved in my opinion. We had a venison stew (soft meat but too unbalanced flavor) and the "carbonada," a March stew with onion (meat too dry and tough). The prices were high; for two, we spent almost €30 each for just a main course and wine. I'd try the other restaurants in the area.
As a regular, I'm taking advantage of the mid-August holiday; otherwise, it would have been a one-star: the food was very poor value for money. Among the dishes, the main courses were awful, with tough, tasteless meat. The wine by the glass was poor quality. Only the desserts were a good thing. The atmosphere and service were good, but when the food isn't above par, it doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned. I hope it was just a case of mismanagement on a very special day.
Pessimo .
Arrogant and bad service
