Opinions de BrandOsteria Grignasco
A typical osteria, a place with an ancient flavor thanks to the authenticity, care, attention, and quality of the dishes prepared by a young chef who caters to the customer's needs. An excellent selection of truly high-quality wines is served, with the maitre d' offering the best recommendations. This osteria is a prime example of how authentic, high-quality cuisine can be prepared without the shortcuts of more prestigious establishments, which rely on ready-made dishes full of preservatives, where the kitchen is merely an ornament and is used only to reheat artificial dishes. I would encourage people to pay more attention to what they eat, to follow trends less, and to place more importance on substance and quality. The dishes at this osteria, in terms of care, innovation, and technique, are second to none; in fact, they could teach many who have forgotten what it means to cook. Thank you. Dog-friendly. I will definitely return as soon as I can. You feel at ease, at home, even alone, there is warmth and pleasure in enjoying a dish that is pleasing to the eye and sublime to the palate.
An excellent experience at Brandosteria! A welcoming restaurant with meticulous attention to detail, featuring a splendid selection of Piedmontese wines and a menu full of interesting options, from appetizers to first and second courses—many of which are also available off-menu, a testament to the vibrant and creative cuisine. The service was impeccable: the waiter was kind, friendly, and very professional, helping to make the evening enjoyable from start to finish. Special praise goes to Brando, the owner—a legendary character and a master chef, capable of conveying passion and authenticity in every dish. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking contemporary, sincere, and high-quality Piedmontese cuisine.
A chef capable of expressing imagination, flavor, and a strong connection to the region, a fantastic head waiter capable of making your dinner a pleasant and carefree experience with great professionalism... a perfect combination within a refined and welcoming venue... It has become a regular stop for us. I highly recommend it if you want to eat well and feel welcomed and pampered. Thank you... It's always a pleasure to dine at Brando!!!!!
Excellent, characterful cuisine, open to revisiting classic dishes without betraying its historical culture. A vast selection of wines allows for an almost tailor-made tasting experience. Local products are presented with refined style. The service is informal, yet professionalism and elegance cannot be masked. The furnishings and floors are made from recycled materials, giving a lived-in feel, yet everything is meticulously organized and conveys a sense of good taste. The perfect place to indulge!
A delight! A tribute to the chef... a true culinary prodigy! We were welcomed with great kindness, despite our imperfect command of Italian and our boisterous little boy, and the osteria charmed us with its delicious dishes to die for. We devoured everything with immense pleasure, but I must admit I was blown away by the 300°C melanzana. I usually love eggplant, but I didn't know it could be so delicious, simply cooked naturally and enhanced this way. I'll always want to eat it this way from now on! We're so glad we followed the Google reviews! You really have to come to Grignasco to discover this treasure!
As always, small osterias always hide surprises. A beautiful osteria, expertly curated and managed. The decor is already a statement, and the wine list complements it. The menu is concise but well-regarded, as is the wine cellar. The host is very good: you feel like you're among family without ever being intrusive. Well-made dishes. Well done. I'll be back.
As soon as you set foot in this restaurant, you immediately notice the attention to detail. The food is extraordinary, carefully prepared and incredibly delicious. The staff is friendly and makes guests feel at home. What can I say? The steak was excellent, the appetizer spectacular, the dessert sublime! We'll definitely be back if we have the chance.
I visited this little restaurant two weeks ago with a friend and we were absolutely blown away. We chose two tasting menus. Delicious and meticulously prepared dishes, attentive and helpful staff, and a stunning, intimate location. Definitely worth a try and returning many times. Excellent!
I'd venture to say SUBLIME. We'd been wanting to have dinner at Brandosteria for a while, and we finally made it... our only regret is not having gone sooner! From the sourcing of raw materials, to the menu, the wine list, the careful selection of every single item... an exceptional discovery. A little oasis in Grignasco! We chose the garden tasting menu. Delicate and tasty dishes. What more can I say? Try it and believe it! Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner. My heartfelt compliments to all the staff!
We stumbled upon Grignasco by chance, and since then, every time we pass through the area, a stop at Brandosteria is a must. The first thing that strikes you is the attention to raw materials: every ingredient is top-quality, fresh, and carefully selected. This is just the beginning of a culinary experience distinguished by chef Matteo's masterful combinations, who knows how to transform each dish into a work of art. A variety of appetizers await: from cured meats to veal with tuna sauce and beef tartare, it's hard to choose, but they're all top-notch. Among the first courses, the unmissable "cacio ai tre pepi" (three peppers casserole) is a must, rivaling even the most popular Roman restaurants in Trastevere: the combination of three types of pepper elevates the classic cacio e pepe to the next level. Honorable mention goes to Brandomisù, a reinterpretation of tiramisu as beautiful to look at as it is to taste, for its refined wine list, and for its off-menu offerings. Brandosteria isn't just a restaurant; it's a traditional Italian cuisine experience with a touch of innovation and creativity. A must-try!
Taking advantage of the concurrent 51st Boca Wine Festival, Watson and I extended our investigations to Grignasco, a town that marks one of the boundaries of the Boca DOC wine district. Here, by reservation, we carefully examined Brandosteria, a place halfway between a bistro and an old-fashioned osteria, yet with a touch of elegance. The welcome is warm and professional, and chef Matteo Brandoni is affable and jovial, as well as knowledgeable, having studied under Gualtiero Marchesi and worked with many prestigious gurus of Italian cuisine. Immediately at ease, we chose "Gli tramontabili" from the menu instead of the à la carte: veal with tuna sauce, spaghetti cacio e pepe, tagliata with potatoes in their skins, and a reinterpretation of tiramisu. In addition to various types of bread and crostini, we were also served an appetizer with warm butter. Everything was delicious, and the place was tidy and clean, as were the bathrooms, which had cloth towels. We paired dinner with a bottle of Casa Baricalino's cuvée red wine, a blend of Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon (good, but a bit light for a palate accustomed to the Nebbiolos of northern Piedmont), and dessert with a glass of Erbaluce vintage: remarkable! With coffee and mineral water, we spent about €70 each. A must-try when you're tired and want to be pampered by beautifully prepared and served traditional dishes.
It is always a pleasure to eat at Brandosteria, a pleasure for both the palate and the sight; From the photos you will notice the plating 🔝 We started with the appetizers, the Brandosteria tuna sauce which was very, very good and delicate on the palate; and anchovies with very good croutons and butter. As a second course we took two tagliatelle with potatoes and three types of delicate sauces. We concluded the dinner with dessert... and what a dessert, the Brandomisu, simply a tiramisu revisited in a modern key which is a blast for the taste buds! And a hazelnut and walnut cake with ice cream, delicious. All accompanied by a bottle of red wine from Rovellotti, Colline Novaresi. We spent a total of €115; online prices. Booking is required.
Very nice place. The building is nothing but the inside ha character. Food very good
We went to Brandosteria yesterday to celebrate a 30th birthday. What can I say! Everything was perfect! Starting with the place, not too big, welcoming, and well-decorated, with a gorgeous wall displaying lots of wines, and a clean bathroom (with a changing table and baby wipes!). The menu was excellent, everything was delicious, and the staff was incredibly attentive and kind. Chef Matteo was fantastic, coming over during lunch to say hello and check on us and make sure everything was okay; we really appreciated it. Thanks again for this wonderful day at "your home." See you soon.
The restaurant, discovered somewhat by chance, offers a variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts, combining simple yet high-quality ingredients. In our lunch and the other guests' choices, the second courses definitely stood out more than the first (conchiglioni with white ragù - good but room for improvement). Prices are reasonable for the quality offered. The interior is modern and meticulously maintained, as is the attentive waitstaff. The exterior of the restaurant could be improved.
Excellent restaurant-osteria in Grignasco. The space isn't large but is cleverly divided into two areas with about ten tables. Tasteful decor with attention to detail. Convenient parking a few meters from the restaurant. Traditional Piedmont/Novara dishes are beautifully interpreted by the chef. Quality ingredients; a constant search for excellence is evident. Excellent wine list. Professional and knowledgeable owners. Courtesy is a hallmark. I'll be back.
We had lunch at Brandosteria after a stroll through the Zegna Oasis. The restaurant has limited seating, but we still managed to get a table without a reservation. Brandosteria offers an à la carte menu, or a mixed appetizer and first course for €22, excluding drinks. We opted for the à la carte menu. We chose the mixed appetizer: bruschetta with anchovies, veal with tuna sauce, and onion soufflé (good, we liked it). The portions were a bit small, perhaps because the price was quite reasonable (€15 for two people). The first course, conchiglioni with white ragù, was very disappointing. It was bland and lacked any flavor. The second courses were good; we tried the pork ribs with cabbage and the rib-eye steak with potatoes. Perhaps the most interesting course was the dessert, the Brandomisu: a successful reinterpretation, both in terms of taste and appearance, of the classic tiramisu. For an osteria that's neither good nor bad, I think €40/person is excessive for the dishes and flavors presented at the table, not to mention that €3/person for a cover charge at lunchtime isn't even worth it in Milan.
