We had a great experience at this place. If you are in Monterrey you should visit this place for authentic Mexican 🇲🇽 food. Juan Pablo and his team welcomed us for a great breakfast and cooking 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 experience including a visit of the local market 🌽. This Salsa Verde is just delicious and traditionally made with tomatillos 💚 ( green 🍅 ) which reminded us of a mix of tomato and 🍋!

Lovely spot. My Spanish is not great and the owner came by to our table to tell us about the food and make recommendations. It was delicious! The chilaquiles were so tasty and filling, the green juice was not too sweet, and there was plenty of coffee. The atmosphere was cozy with American rock oldies playing. Will definitely come back!

This place was beyond my expectations. I was in Monterrey on vacation with my brother and brother-in-law for the weekend. We were looking for authentic regional food. It was so amazing that we ended up going to have breakfast three days in a row. We met our server Pau, she was so accommodating. She understood what we needed after we showed up with electrolytes (lol). She recommended grata plates, as well as Greta mezcal and cerveza carta blanca. All in all, they made us feel so welcomed that we kept going back. Needless to say, I will return to this cozy place, with great food and service, as soon as I return to Monterrey. Thank you Pau, the great singer (I forgot his name, due to the many mexcales 😥), and the most awesome owner. Last but not least, thanks to the chef for the “curado” he gifted us! Don’t hesitate to go, and I hope you run into Pau and her team. Great people!

We came to this quaint and charming restaurant for lunch. It is situated in the Barrio Antiguo area, yet a few blocks away from the typical tourist strip. I felt like I had briefly traveled back in time to my great grandmother's home. The interior is exactly what you would find in a typical home dated during the times when Monterrey was first established. This establishment had plenty of seating. The walls are the original walls, built using those large and unevenly shaped stones and thick mortar layers. I found it intriguing to sit and imagine that being someone's home at one time. The artwork made by modern artists gave it a natural blend between the yesteryears and today. The food was very good too. The portion size and taste was perfect. I had a carajillo. The caguama was surprisingly complementary with the dish my husband ordered.

I came to have breakfast because I read in Lonely Planet about their cooking lessons. Juan Pablo gave me the GREATEST welcoming I've ever had at a restaurant. They have a guitar player and I had an incredible meal. In a few days, Mario - one of the partner chefs - prepared a whole cooking experience for me. In 3-4 hours we made: guacamole, tacos, salsa mexicana y verde, chilaquiles, tamales, sopes, gorditas, enchiladas, pork, chicken .. just endless amounts of food to prepare, eat and drink. The most memorable experience in MX so far. No one should leave Monterrey without coming here!

Excellent food, ambiance and service! Mario was extremely helpful and making sure we knew what we were ordering since we have a limited Spanish speaking ability. We order the enchiladas with pork and beef. Very tasty, very authentic. The outside building surrounding this restaurant may seem a little shabby, but the interior of this restaurant and the live music made our experience memorable.

Great food, beautiful atmosphere and helpful attentive waitstaff! The machacado con huevos a la mexicana had some nice spicy chiles! The gorditas were great (not too greasy) and we had another traditional plate that I can’t remember the name of but was quite tasty! Would go back any day!

Beautiful place with plenty of seating. The food had a small amount to choose from but it was just enough. The waitress took our order quick and the food came out fast. When we went they were reciting poetry and playing acoustic guitar which was beautiful.

We came to visit Monterrey from Los Angeles… this place stole our hearts.. we came for breakfast and from the moment we walked in, we had a feeling the experience was going to be amazing. There was a very talented musician filling the room with the sounds of his guitar and pleasant voice. As we sat down, the chef greeted us and made us feel so welcome. He asked us what the language of choice is and accommodated all of our party both English and Spanish. We ordered family style so we could all enjoy the variety… boy was it delicious! The cillaquilles.. AMAZING! Everything was so tasty…. The service was great!! The environment was perfect with the cavelike walls made of old large stones.. and lastly.. the Chef/Big Boss was brilliant! So happy to have stumbled into this restaurant. Highly recommend it.

Fue para el almuerzo, alrededor de las 12 del medio día, un lugar de buena ambientación, pocas mesas, unas 5, me senté, pasaron algunos minutos y me preguntaron que quería de tomar, pedí un café negro u el menú, de la entre del menú a la toma de la orden fácilmente pasaron más de 10 minutos, pedí unos huevos acompañados de chilaquiles, supuestamente serían revueltos , se sirvieron estrellados, acompañados de chilaquiles (totopos) y frijoles refritos, el sabor estaba bien y los precios dentro del Promedio, el Lugar está bastante agradable, solo la lentitud del servicio.

Buen lugar para desayunar con un toque local. Los chilaquiles norteños muy recomendables. Si estás cerca de la zona, vale la pena visitar para comer algo más casero o mexicano.

La comida está bien solo la salsa del chicharrón demasiado ácida. Las enchiladas muy sencillas Face de olla muy rico El precio lo justifica el concepto y la ubicación.

Me pedí unas enchiladas estaban DELICIOSAS, con salsa de cacahuate y verde, lo que no me gustó fue la sopa de fideo, estaba algo deshabrida. Muy atentos y amables pero SIN CLIMA. Si volvería en cuanto pongan clima o en invierno pero definitivo no pronto (me cocino)

El lugar esta muy fuera de lo común, te transporta hacia el Monterrey antiguo. La atención excelente. No tienen aire acondicionado. La comida esta bien, a mi gusto le falto un poco mas de sazón a las salsas y comida en general. Los frijoles si estaban muy buenos. 🤤. El estacionamiento es en la calle, llegamos temprano y pues no hubo problemas. Los precios están promedio. Como lugar novedoso lo recomiendo, aunque el sabor de los alimentos nos quedó a deber.

Nuestra experiencia fue normal. La comida era buena pero nada fuera de lo común. Lo que si me gusto mucho fueron los frijolitos con queso, muy ricos. El servicio fue amable y rápido, lo cual fue un punto a su favor. El ambiente del restaurante era agradable, música en vivo y con una decoración sencilla pero acogedora. Eso si no tienen aire acondicionado. En resumen, Fonda el Limoncito es una buena opción para conocer pero no esperes sorprender tu paladar. Puede ser linda elección si valoras un servicio eficiente y un ambiente agradable.

El lugar es bonito con buen concepto, Te imaginas algo muy casero y es agradable para platicar. En cuanto a la comida muy buena presentación , Pero el sabor algo malo , Los frijoles no sabían a nada y estaban fríos , Los empalmes no estaban sazonados como un empalme tradicional , solo era una tortilla con frijoles y queso sin sabor , La salsa de los huevos sin sabor , No sé si la intención es algo nutritivo, pero el sabor la vdd muy malo , Los chilaquiles eran tostadas con salsa ,no eran echos por ellos, Se equivocaron en uno de los pedidos ,si llevaron lo faltante ,pero la vdd el sabor deja mucho que desear, Tbn el café de olla es algo malo. Creo que si reestructuraran su área de cocineros serían una muy buena opción.

Acudimos a este lugar por las excelentes reseñas, sin embargo creo que está sobrevalorado, ya que la comida nos pareció bastante normal, su servicio es sumamente lento...una hora para entregarnos nuestros platillos, a pesar de que eramos los únicos comensales, ya que fuimos los primeros en llegar. Lo que más destaca fue la atención calida y familiar. Pero no vuelvo 😅

Es un lugar bonito y agradable, en ese aspecto sin tema. Incluso la decoración me agradó mucho. Con respecto al servicio no es el mejor. Tardaron mucho para llevar mi comida y eso que iba sola y en el lugar solo había dos mesas ya atendidas, incluso después de mi llegaron otras personas que llevaron sus alimentos antes que a mí 😞. Considero que es un lugar un poco caro con respecto a lo que me dieron. Los huevos rancheros no los recomiendo, las tortillas secas y mi huevo no estaba bien cocido como lo pedi por los dos lados. La idea de esperar mucho y por el precio es porque vas a recibir algo muy rico.

Es buena la comida, pero el servicio muy malo, primero el acceso horrible, no puede entrar una persona con silla de ruedas, bastón o muletas pero eso si son muy incluyentes, llegamos mi novia y yo, nos vieron que nos sentamos y pasaron 10 min, me tuve que parar a preguntar a las señoritas que estaban en la barra si se pedía en barra o iban a la mesa y me dice ahi vamos es que no los vimos jaja eran dos mesas y nosotros. Nos dejan el menu despues nos piden las bebidas y pido un café de olla, mi novia espero un poco mas, cuando llega la chica me deja caer el café en la mesa de trancazo., pedimos de comer y dios mio! Mas de veintitantos minutos para unos huevos y asado,llega la comida y de nuevo, tienen tortillas? Tienen salsa? No tienen esas ganas de atender y preguntar o simplemente adelantarse a lo obvio. Ya leí l respuesta del propietario, una respuesta genérica, yo no vuelvo a ir y no lo recomiendo.

El sazón es bueno pero nos sirvieron comida que dejó mucho a desear debido a que estaba como recalentado en el microondas, la mesera argumentó que era por el horario y otra chica que era porque habían dejado el arroz destapado. El hígado estaba duro y demasiado seco; tenía muchas expectativas por las reseñas pero definitivamente salimos decepcionados al punto de dejar todo. Esperemos mejoren.

La comida nada fueron de lo que haces en tu casa de mala gana, el costo es alto para lo que ofrecen por agregar fruta y café $100 y olvidaron los jugos. El lugar es una casina vieja y podría parecer bello, sin embargo esta sumamente sucio , el baño era un asco y había cucarachas en el baño, los manteles sucios, y las cortinas de la cocina deberían quitarla y poner puertas o cambiarlas más seguido ya que estan negras de donde las.tocan siempre, claro indicio que no se lavan las manos los que entran y salen de la cocina

El lugar muy bonito, rústico algo diferente. El trato es lo malo en lo personal se pidió una barbacoa para compartir y sólo a una de las personas se le preguntó lo que quería ya que era con “experiencia” a la otra ni la voltearon a ver, fue algo incómodo pareciera que no quería vender pudieron ofrecer alguna experiencia extra o mínimo si quería algo de tomar, luego pido unos chilaquiles en primera donde los chilaquiles llevan la salsa arriba como un camino, era totopos secos , salsa sin sabor por más sal que se le puso no encontraba algún sabor. Los frijoles fue lo único rescatable. Precio producto, ahí lugares mejores.

Lleve a mi familia, y en honor el limoncito hace honor a su nombre , es como tal cual ,como un limoncito , en su comida ,seca, sin jugo y sin sabor,. Solo pude dar un par de bocados y despues dejar todo el plato, el lugar se mira padre si solo van a tomar cerveza y, o a refrescarse con alguna bebida que sea refresco o otra bebida. No recomiendo las refil, ya que no se toman la.molestia de tener una jamaica o limomada natural, son de saquitos. Y un mal mini plus. No estan preparados para saber como poner un vasito con agua o hielo antes de cada inicio de una comida como bienvenida como en las fonditas. Algo tan basico en una. su salsita y totopitos estaban respetables. Un guacamole con aguates un tanto cafeses, pero pasable si uno lleva hambre. Pero si tuvimos que salir todos debido a que aun les falta la experiencia en la cocina , y ademas un poco mas frescura en los ingredientes que usan, aun puedo sentir el sabor medio cocido del higado, una cecina con sabor agrio, y un arroz que no lleva ni sabor a tomate y frijolitos con sabor de bolsita isadora. Recomendable para refrescarse y platicar, pero solo hasta ahi, como bar. De fonda solo la fachada , pero de cocina ... da mucho que desear. Deberian enfocarse en platillos mas sencillos , para que no solo sea por el lugar el querer visitarlo, si no tambien por la cocina., hablo de la comida. Puede que sus almuerzos aun sean salvables. Como todo buen cliente, solo pedimos la cuenta , pagamos y nos retiramos, esta vez no hubo campanita sonando. Y los que la llegaban a tocar parecian mas comprometidos por quedar bien, que en realidad reflejar su verdadera opinion del sabor. Gran lugar , para charlar y beber algo solo ocasionalmente.
