I have seen this pub on the CAMRA website many times and always promised myself I would visit it if I was in the area, not so easy when you live in the far north of Scotland. However, today we made it and what a find it was. We popped in for lunch and decided on their sandwiches. Absolutely superb and most generous in the portions. A great choice of real ale from their own brewery and my wife was most complimentary about the red wine. A wonderful pub which would certainly be our local if we lived nearby. Attentive, friendly and very efficient staff. Lots of wonderful "sayings" written up on the wall both inside and outside. I have no hesitation in recommending if you enjoy a classic country pub with very good beer (and food and red wine of course). Thank you to everyone at Twice Brewed.

A lovely evening meal at Twice Brewed Inn. The service was very well organised and prompt with the service of drinks and food. There was plenty of helpful staff which gave the feeling of a very well run place. The fish and chips was huge and very filling. Our table was not too far away from a lovely burning fire which gave off a lot of heat. We were pleased to see this pub/eatery was also dog friendly. Inside on the walls there are souvenirs from the sadly fallen sycamore tree which is not far from the pub.

Stayed here for a night for my birthday. Based on reviews cannot fault it. Staff amazingly attentive, friendly and happy to serve. Great accommodation. Great food. Will defo return for a stargazer evening when the weather improves. 10000000% highly recommended 👌

Had a lovely stay at the Twice Brewed Inn. We did the stargazing event, which unfortunately was all indoors due to bad weather, but the staff were so knowledgeable and entertaining we still had a great time. The food at the pub was excellent and the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights in Feb including the astronomy event. Great food, beer and staff. Brilliant location, vindolanda, housesteads and the fantastic hadrians wall ascent at Steel Rigg. Also got the Sill museum and cafe next door. Really enjoyed the late night planetarium. Wonderful 2 nights

Went out for Sunday roast with family, staff were instantly welcoming and very attentive during our meal. Food was really good, I found my lamb to be a bit grisly but everyone else enjoyed there's so I'm just putting that down to personal preference the portions were ok I'd of preferred more veg with my meal as there was only 2 small bowls of veg served between 4 of us , we also had pudding which was literally to die for (sticky toffee pudding just incase you go) there was a 10% service charge on top of our bill which I didn't mind as I usually tip the waiting staff any way I would of just preferred to be made aware of the service charges beforehand overall it was a nice lunch out definitely be back again 😀

Stayed overnight at The Twice Brewed Inn and loved it. Very dog friendly, with genuinely friendly, chatty staff who make you feel welcome straight away. The food was excellent and breakfast the next morning was just as good. Cosy atmosphere, great beer, and a perfect location by Hadrian’s Wall. Would happily stay again.

I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights back in October and what can I say. The staff was very welcoming and helped me with advice about Hadrian's Wall and made me feel right at home. The food was delicious and you had the choice between the dining room and the pub. Also after a long day hiking along the wall it was great to come into the Pub and have a beer. I also took advantage of the Astronomy session which was truly wonderful and eye opening. If I ever get over that way again (which I hope) I would definitely stay at Twice Brewed

Located close to the Housesteads Roman fort ruins in a very pretty area of England. Really good food selection along with their own beer. Decent amount of seating inside and plenty of seating outside for better weather, including covered pagodas. Paid parking that it shares with a nearby establishment. Dog friendly.

Lovely pub & inn. So thankful for this place being here! I fell short on my walk along Hadrian's Wall and decided to stop in for a meal and a potential room to call it a day. The staff was very welcoming and quick to help. They luckily had rooms available for a very fair price and it was immaculate. On the pub side, I grabbed the Steak & Ale pie and it was very good. Lovely assortment of cask ales too. 10/10.

Visited here after walking along the Hadrians wall to sycamore gap, pub is dog friendly. Food there was very nice, we had wall banger meal and burger and fries. Service was good and would definitely recommend visiting if in the area.

Twice Brewed Inn is a fantastic place to visit! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The food is excellent — hearty, well-prepared, and full of flavor — and the drinks selection is impressive, with something for everyone. Whether you’re stopping by for a meal, a drink, or an overnight stay, Twice Brewed Inn offers a memorable experience that keeps you coming back. Highly recommended!

Called in on Sunday without a reservation and were shown to our table immediately. Good selection of food on offer , all at reasonable prices. We chose the Sunday lunch, one roast beef and one lamb. Food arrived quickly and nice and hot. The portion sizes were good and everything was cooked well. Delicious Sunday lunch, two desserts and drinks for less than £60. Friendly and helpful staff who went over and above to make us comfortable. I will definitely come back again.

Great Pub, super food, dog friendly This was a bit of a great find in terms of pub. We were visiting the region (and Hadrian Wall), and needed to find a place for lunch. We came and here based on the reviews and this pub did not disappoint. first the decoration is great, they had a super large selection of meals & last but not least it is a dog friendly pub! Highly recommended from us.

Great pub, excellent cask ales brewed on the grounds, service was spot on for such a large grounds. Including the multiple outdoor seating areas. Dinner was great. The chicken parpadell, sea bass and fancy fisherman’s pie were all great. Do recommend, also situated right in the middle of the best and most vigorous section of the Hadrians wall hike.

Lovely pub, situated on the military road, 5 minutes from Steel Rigg carpark by foot. Buy the local beer, then afterwards buy it in the shop. Also Twice Brewed is beside a YHA.

Perfect location if you’re walking around the sycamore gap. The food is delicious, really big portions, they have nailed an equal balance of quality and quantity. The bar staff and servers were really friendly and welcoming. We were a table of 10 and all of our food was delivered hot and together on a Sunday dinner time. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

An absolutely stunning pub a short walk from Hadrians Wall and Sycamore Gap. The food was delicious, well priced and very good portions. The staff were friendly and helpful, there was a log fire burning in the wood burner (just what you want after a cold walk along the wall) and the whole place is dog friendly. We stopped to grab a takeaway coffee for our walk and then headed for lunch after with a quick stop at the micro brewery for good measure (the spiced rum is divine!) It's worth being aware the car park is a cash only pay and display but it's reasonable enough (£1 per hour or £5 for the whole day) I just didn't have cash, luckily my partner did. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Excellent!!!!!!!!! I was out with my walking club. Although this was not just an ordinary day where we just finished a walk, then went for a couple of drinks. While we did do a walk, we also had our annual meal, after which some people did a few turns to entertain us. I had a steak and ale pie 🥧 with some veg and gravy. With a sticky toffee pudding with custard🍮 It was delicious. A very special day.

What a great pub with interesting craft beers brewed on site. Lovely outside area to explore and plenty of space. Food was tasty albeit a bit pricey and could have done with some greens with the pie. Dog friendly which is a bonus. Would definitely come back.

Rang and booked a table within 45 mins even though it was busy when we got there. We decided to sit outside In the sun. Had a nice out door area, spacious with plenty of seats. We went on a Sunday so there was only a sunday dinner menu. I had the beef, plenty food on the plate but there could have been a bit more meat for what I paid for it. Was all really tasty mind. Dog friendly too. Oh and they have fruity cider on tap. Winner winner.

Visited this weekend as we were staying in the area for a couple of nights and I had high hopes based on reviews and recommendations - sadly it didn't quite live up to expectations for me. It is a lovely pub and the garden is lovely to have a drink in the sun. The food however was a bit of a let down. My partner had the steak and ale pie with chips - he said the pie was good but the chips were so heavily salted they were difficult to eat. I had the squash rigatoni - the pasta itself was undercooked and chewy, rather than al dente, and the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. Both main courses were just a bit disappointing for the price. Desserts were nice, thankfully - would recommend the pecan pie and the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake.

First visit for the star gazing evening. We had a two course meal before, the menu looks good but in small writing under each course had 'gluten, sulphites, dairy etc. If you're gluten free there were only two courses suitable, and if you have allergic reactions to sulphites only one meal ok. There were no gluten free options and why sulphites were added in meals like fish and chips and other basic foods you would make at home was annoying. The wild mushrooms on sour bread was ok but quite salty, why?? The fish pie with cheesy mash topping and mixed veg was ok but the fish pie very bland in taste and no cheese taste either. It could have done with some herbs to bring out the flavours. The trio of pork looked like a starter, two small square very fatty pieces of belly pork that looked liked they had been boiled, a palm sized piece of pork cheek and a pork and apple sausage that tasted of mainly apple. Again the rest tasted bland and it came without any veg or potatoes. For the prices they charge and no options for people with dietary problems, it was very disappointing.

Abysmal, avoid at all costs. First it's not a pub it's a souless corporate shell. The food was very disappointing. I had the venison bourgion, no bacon, no onion, no mushroom garnish and woefully under seasoned. The mash was fine I suppose but I'd wouldn't be surprised if it came frozen in a packet. I was so hungry after the tiny portion than whilst my family ordered pudding I decided to have a chip butty, something noone could mess up but how wrong was I. I chose the brown bread and it's the cheapest supermarket sliced, I'd hoped for something crusty, maybe some seeds. The chips though, my god they were the second worst chips I've had in my life. No colour to them at all and the insides should be fluffy! So cross with the entire experience. Go to a proper pub. Seriously for a pub right next to one of the most popular walking routes in England why are the portions so small. Edit: forgot to mention the venison was overcooked to the point of being stringy. The espresso stout was very nice.
