Opinions de Fête Honolulu
Fête was fantastic. My wife, some friends, and I loved everything about the evening-the warm, welcoming service, lively ambience, and excellent food. The Chicken Liver Mousse was smooth and rich, perfectly balanced by the sour cherry red onion marmalade and pickled okra. The Fête Spreads were perfect for sharing, and the Steak Tartare was a standout-beautifully prepared with bold, balanced flavors. The Koji-Brined Ludovico Chicken was juicy and memorable, finished with a rich mushroom sourdough cream sauce. I also had the night’s special lasagna, which was outstanding-comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Thoughtful, delicious, and welcoming-Fête is a must-visit and a place we’ll happily return to.
We got a reservation a few days before and it was the best decision of our whole trip. Our waiter explained all the dishes and specials. I enjoyed the whole experience here, the drinks were fun but not over the top, we got the bread and spreads appetizer which was playful and complementary, the star of the show was our dinner! Our waiter recommended the in house made pasta which was tender and chewy! The fish was outstanding and wrapped in prosciutto accompanied by some damn good potatoes. We ended w a scoop of sorbet, I think it was raspberry rose. 11/10! Oh and parking was easy on the street.
Enjoyed a late lunch at 2:00 amd loved that it was less crowded. Service at Fete is always excellent and loved our table by the wall as more private. The best grilled cheese sandwich ever! The onions and beef au jus were perfect blend of flavors. Fete always has a different take on their food and the Ono fish sandwich as well was delicious. Portions are generous as are the wine by the glass servings. I usually like crispy fries but Fetes larger fries were tasty.
A couple of outstanding dishes to order because of locally raised pork: Mountain View Pork Cutlet and the Mountain View Pork Ragu. The ragu in particular was a hearty (& heavy) and savory dish. For apps the chicken liver mousse and Fete spreads were quite good. One of the best restaurants in Oahu.
Every dish we tried left a lasting impression. The lamb burger was rich and perfectly balanced, while the steak tartare was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. The real standout, though, was the beef pot pie—comforting, hearty, and so flavorful that it’s still on my mind. Even the drinks were memorable, especially the cocktails made with Earl Grey–infused vodka, which were smooth, aromatic, and surprisingly refreshing. The combination of thoughtful food and creative drinks made this meal feel special from start to finish. It’s the kind of place you keep thinking about long after you’ve left.
My husband and I went to Fête for lunch. We had a reservation for 2:30, but it wasn't too busy then. We were seated pretty quickly. The place has a cute, cozy vibe. The menu is pretty straightforward. We started out with cocktails—both the Kunia Old Fashioned and the Spicy Kitty were really tasty! For our entree, we shared the Korean chicken sandwich with fries. It was super hot and fresh when it came out. We finished our lunch with the delicious Olive Oil Cake. We enjoyed our dining experience here! If you're in the area, definitely check it out!
The Winter Thai drink was a really unique delicious drink. Would recommend getting that one if you like a herby drink! Everything we had was delicious. Shared the special ulu aloo dish which was their take on a samosa with breadfruit spiced with Indian spices and topped with crispy okra and tangy condiment. We shared the chicken sandwich which my wife loved because of how crispy and flavorful it was. I got the koji brined chicken which was probably one of the best chicken dishes I’ve had. Loved the savoriness and umami that the koji brine gave to the chicken and the mushrooms with the cream sauce on the bottom just added to the richness and umami of the dish. The greens on the side tasted bit salty and could have probably dressed in a way that would have been a refreshing palate cleanser from the heavy dish. Still loved it though! We didn’t get any desserts because we were stuffed after long day of eating at other places.
Honestly surprised this restaurant is Michelin starred or bib! Their wine list is insanely good. Their cocktails are perfectly done. Service was warm, generous and kind for this solo dinner. And the restaurant packed for a Tuesday night in Chinatown!
Truly one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Honolulu. There’s a reason this place is a James Beard Award winner! We came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday and every single dish reminded me why Fête never misses. We started with sparkling wine that was crisp, bubbly, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet - literal perfection. Then came the beef tartare, which I kid you not is the best beef tartare I’ve had on island to date. Nothing has topped it! The texture is smooth (not chunky), the flavors are perfectly blended, and the portion is great for just yourself or to share. It’s usually served with French bread, but since I can’t have it, they brought cucumbers instead and honestly? Still hit so hard. The Fête salad was fresh, light, and ideal for sharing. They are also extremely allergy-friendly and conscious, which makes the experience even better. Now… the Coconut Kaua‘i Prawns. WOW. Truly the star of the show. Lightly crispy, perfectly cooked, generous portion, and the flavor is INSANE. This is a non-negotiable order. You 👏🏽need 👏🏽to try this dish! Other hits at the table: - Lup Cheong fried rice (comforting and flavorful) - Korean fried chicken (my friend said it was incredible) - Crispy potatoes (elevated, perfectly cooked, and honestly delightful) - Chez Burger (confirmed delicious by my friend) To top it all off, they surprised us with Dorie Greenspan’s chocolate cake for my friend’s birthday, and it disappeared fast! If you love chocolate, this dessert is a must. Fête is thoughtful, celebratory, consistent, and just so well done. Perfect for birthdays, date nights, or when you want to impress out-of-town friends. Forever one of my favs 💛
Food was fantastic. Many choices on the menu to consider and all our selections delivered on price, flavor, and value. Our server skillfully explained the menu and specials and was very attentive throughout service.
Great place. My wife has very specific dietary needs and every time we've been here Chuck has made the experience amazing. The kitchen and Chuck with with my wife's needs to let her experience a good meal without compromise. Even without that the food is great. Highly recommend.
Fantastic chicken sandwich, great cocktails, amazing fried rice (didn't expect this), don't skip the rocky road ice cream. 10/10 easily the best meal we had on the island. Make a reservation or go early!
This restaurant has quickly become one of my absolute favorite places to eat and drink on Oʻahu. Every dish I’ve tried—whether it’s the pasta or the fresh fish—has been consistently outstanding. The service is top-tier, the drinks are always on point, and you can feel the pride and care that goes into everything they do. The owner is a solid guy, and it really shows in his staff and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. You can tell he leads by example because the entire team carries the same energy. Hands down one of the best restaurants on the island. Highly recommended..
Lamb burger and steak tartare were great. Can’t stop thinking about the Beef Pot Pie! Earl grey infused vodka cocktails were amazing.
I spotted this place awhile back when we couldn't do a walk-in and ended up down the street at O'Kims. So glad I was able to make a reservation for an early lunch today (weekday). True to many reviews --- this restaurant could be mistaken for a dining establishment in NYC or SF. The brick walls, living plant board, well-stocked bar and French bistro furniture style sent a cool city vibe. The food did not disappoint either. The Hawaiian greens in the fete salad were fresh and varied (bitter, herby, crisp) and I personally love watermelon radish a lot. Okay, but the stellar thing is that the crispy chicken that one could add to the salad was amazing. (thick, juicy, crunchy outer batter) Wow! The kanpachi special was delicious too. I always like the Mediterranean influence on roasted fish -- fresh tapenade but never have I experienced the roasted eggplant sauce and maybe twice-cooked potatoes (felt like boiled, battered then fried) which were scrumptious. Chris, our waiter was patient, friendly and knowlegeable. He recommended to us his fave dessert combo so we followed his lead with the olive oil cake with passionfruit/calamansi drizzle and poi ice cream. Mahalo to everyone at the restaurant for making this a memorable dining experience. You rock!
For the price range they really make you happy. The wines were delicious. The soda of the day was not too sweet and amazing. The tartare was amazing. Zucchini risotto did not disappoint.
Incredible food, excellent service, and delicious cocktails! I initially booked our reservation for the wrong night and was able to snag what I think was the last reservation of the night the day we dined. Definitely recommend making a reservation so you don’t end up waiting outside with the other walk ups! We ordered some of the specials for the evening (the carrots were amazing) along with some amazing standard menu items. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the sourcing of every ingredient and was super attentive throughout our meal, making for an excellent experience. I’m lactose intolerant and had plenty of options, including one of the best sorbets I’ve had in my life (it was a house blend recommended by our server that ended up tasting like velvety caramel!). We ended up at the back table by the open kitchen, which I loved as an industry person. I loved seeing their kitchen and expo in action and talking shop with some of their staff. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re on island, and I can’t wait to taste whatever is in season then! So nice to see a proper farm to table spot in the islands!
Girl this was one of the best restaurants we visited in Hawaii , like how was every item off the menu sounding like a HIT - this was curated perfectly, we started off with the airy light croquettes with a delicious aioli , after the Korean chicken sandwich w/salad … is it the healthiest sandwich ? Probably not but the FLAVOR is on %100 , now for the pasta was so fresh! And the server girly was the sweetest and she really sold the menu/experience , she mentioned how the chefs really teach them about the menu which was so refreshing to see/hear.
Outstanding service here. Loved the cocktails, especially the “Ol Nick.” Starter was better than the entree but it was still good. Entree a little slow to come out, other than that, definitely worth getting a reservation.
Excellent food using locally sourced ingredients. The service staff were all very friendly and our server was very knowledgeable of the various dishes, wines and local craft beers. This was my first time eating here and I had a wonderful time.
Nestled in the heart of Honolulu, Fete is a delightful culinary gem that brings a taste of Brooklyn to the islands. From the moment you step through the door, the cozy yet vibrant atmosphere invites you to indulge in a dining experience that beautifully marries familiar comforts with a tantalizing island flair. The space may be tight, but Fete makes it work with an intimate charm that fosters a sense of community among diners. It's clear that every inch of the restaurant is thoughtfully curated, creating an ambiance that feels both welcoming and lively. Every dish we tried was nothing short of amazing. Fete’s menu presents a creative fusion of flavors, showcasing everything from inventive appetizers to mouthwatering main courses. Each bite is a testament to the culinary expertise and passion that the chefs bring to the table. If you visit, don’t miss out on their signature cocktail, the Spicy Kitty. It’s the perfect blend of heat and refreshment, with a kick that leaves a lasting impression. It’s not just a drink; it’s a conversation starter!
We had an enjoy lunch. We were seated in an overflow area adjacent to the kitchen which was marvelous. It gave us the opportunity to watch the chef at work and witness staff interaction. They were a great team. If we weren’t seated near the kitchen we wouldn’t have known the chef was a winner of the James Beard Award! Our service was exceptional and our food delicious. I had a beet salad that wasn’t on the menu which offered an interesting mix of greens avocado and beets. I couldn’t place the flavors of the dressings but enjoyed it. My husband had the Korean Bavette which I sampled and it was delicious. Gluten free options were available and food allergies were taken seriously. A pleasant dining experience!
Delightful! The food was amazing, the shining stars were all on the specials menu so don’t let the online menu deceive you into thinking those are the only dishes offered. Drinks are dangerously good and the staff is a delight. Worth a reservation.
Fête in Waikiki was a fantastic dinner experience that truly impressed us. We went at night and started off with two of their signature cocktails—both were expertly crafted and full of flavor. The pork ragù appetizer was fresh, savory, and perfectly portioned. We also ordered the baba ghanoush, which was creamy and delicious, along with the Fête Spreads to sample a bit of everything—they were all excellent. The burger was cooked medium well and still came out incredibly juicy, soft, and full of flavor—one of the best I’ve had in a while. The beet salad with chicken was a light yet satisfying option that balanced out the meal nicely. The atmosphere was inviting and vibrant, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout. A reservation is definitely a must for this place, as it gets busy for good reason. Highly recommend if you’re in Waikiki and looking for quality food and great vibes.
I made a reservation about a week in advance. I’m so glad that I did because it was very busy when we arrived. I was pleased that it felt so different than Waikiki. It’s seemed to be restaurant that attracts locals. The cocktail, A Pear to Remember was amazing. I ordered two. I ordered the Mahi special. It was great. My friends enjoyed their entrees as well. We finished the meal with the Rocky Road Ice Cream. The ice cream was amazing! The dark chocolate, macadamia nuts, and house made marshmallows was a wonderful combination and elevated spend on an already great flavor.
We have been here time and time again and this place has never failed in quality, deliciousness, and superb staff even when the place is completely packed. My go to favorite is the steak Cesar salad and carbonara, but opted to change it up a bit. Ordered the Fete Salad ( would be bomb with fried chicken or steak on top but we had it as an appetizer and wanted to keep it light so we didn’t add meats) and Kanpachi Fritters. I’m not the biggest fan of fish, but they came out like hush puppies with hardly a super fishy taste and just delicious fried goodness. Would 10/10 recommend the salad and fritters as a paired appetizer. For the mains we went with the signature wings, which came as a 9 piece and tasted like a honey mustard dream. They were so so delicious and different. Think sweet and spicy wings with a literal uppercut of honey mustard, yum. And my go to carbonara. The drink menu and mocktail menu are pretty good too if you get the chance.
Summertime cocktail was amazing. The bartender was busy but nice. After watching him I decided on a drink over dessert. Our server was also amazing. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was mid if I'm being honest. Homemade ketchup was the best part of the meal lol Ordered rare steak and was advised to get med rare then it was cooked uneven. Salad was just ok. Fries were perfect with that ketchup. Lots of gluten friendly options. Staff was knowledgeable and checked in when there might have been conflict.
Everything we ate here was delicious! The service was excellent as well. They have a great menu to choose from and also have specials. I highly recommend their Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and their salads are amazing. I would definitely come back next time I’m in Honolulu!
Incredible Experience at Fête – A Must-Visit on Oahu! Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, Fête offers a dining experience that blends the big-city feel with the charm of Oahu’s historic landmarks. The vibrant energy of the town, with its mix of old-world architecture and modern flair, sets the perfect stage for an unforgettable meal. Our group of seven indulged in the Fête Spread, Carbonara, Ragu, and the famous Rocky Road, and honestly, we could have said we ordered almost one of each dessert! Everything was impeccably crafted and bursting with flavor. The Grilled Kanpachi was another standout—perfectly cooked and full of fresh, vibrant flavors. And we can’t forget the crispy potatoes—hands down go with this rather than fries. You wont be sorry. It's delish! And then, there was Robin, our waitress—Top Shelf! She had a fabulous sense of humor and made our experience even more enjoyable with her attentive and engaging service. With its incredible food, warm hospitality, and a setting that blends urban energy with historic charm, Fête exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to coming back. If you're on Oahu, this spot is an absolute must-visit!
This dinner was hands down one of my favorite dinners ever. The lasagna I ordered tasted so amazing. The drinks were phenomenal. Im so glad our server pushed me to order the lasagna, even though I try to rarely order pasta dishes when I go out. I will 100% be going back to have another meal at this establishment. One of Top 3 restaurants on the island for sure.
This place is definitely one to check off if you want a fun downtown restaurant with a lively atmosphere and great food. The employees are always super welcoming, friendly, and helpful when offering suggestions. This is one of the places we always take people when they come to visit. Their best things are the sandwiches, pastas, and specials.
Food so good it will have you bouncing in your chair. I walked in and the owner immediately greeted me and found a table. The entire staff was lovely. Special vegetable lasagna was delicious and the olive oil cake was divine!
Today I got to try their house special sandwich with their house special lemon juice and it was incredible. Also, the server was very friendly and helpful.
Stellar service and some of the best homemade pasta I've ever had. Every bite was enjoyable and the appetizer was unique as well. Service was friendly and helpful, would just recommend a seat on the inside if you can get it as the street has a fair amount of 'character' at night. Would come back!
My family took me here for a birthday dinner and all the food was so delicious and decadent. We ordered the beef tartar, fried shrimp (special), ragu, steak, and carbonara. We had 4 adults and 2 kids dining and we were SO full (could barely eat breakfast the next day). I love the concept, elevated dishes, reasonable prices, and a fusion of different cuisines. Loved our experience.
A wonderful experience with really amazing menu.. I had the pork loin dish and was amazing!
Was super excited to eat at Fete during our time in Honolulu and it did not disappoint. We booked a spot on the patio which is streetside. There was a crew out powerwashing the sidewalk across the street which was creating a bit of a mist that carried across the street, which eventually the host went out and asked the crew to stop, which they did. Still a good amount of noise on the street, but it made for good people watching. The restaurant looks lovely inside and both the patio and restaurant were busy throughout the evening on a Tuesday night. The food was excellent. We had the salad special (which was beet based) and was vibrant and fresh. The carrots were outstanding, charred with a bit of crunch and a wonderful combination of flavors. The Korean Bavette was awesome, the table next to us was enjoying as we were seated and it smelled too good to skip. My partner had the mushroom risotto with prosciutto, which was creamy with a bit of salty crunch. The mixology program here is fantastic - really unique cocktails - Al Pastorita, Pithy in Pink, Fete 75 and and the Look so Cool, were excellent accompaniments to our meal. The ice creams were both phenomenal - some of the best ice cream I can recall having!
We were walk ins but they were able to get us bar seats for an hour. It was perfect since we already had apps and I had one thing in mind… ordering one of the pastas. Kevin was an awesome server and the bartender was excellent too. Our server recommended the Korean chicken sandwich and didn’t steer us wrong. So tasty!! I enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara though it tasted a bit different than I imagined. I’d definitely come back and try some more of their food. It all looked so good.
I loved it here and would absolutely come back. They were pretty booked online with reservations but we were able to call and get in slightly earlier. All staff were phenomenal and prompt. Our server Alyssa M was amazing. She was friendly and gave her honest opinions on all the food and drinks we asked about. If I had friends visiting this would be a must go to place, with Alyssa. We split the Basil Cesar for an app, had the Pork Ragu and Carbonara for entrees, and rocky Road ice cream for dessert. All of it was delicious!
Amazing food and excellent service. I was thankful they had vegetarian options that tasted great. And all at a reasonable price! Parking can be tricky and be sure to sit inside if there is a chance of rain.
If you’ve never been to Fête and have questions of what you should order, do not hesitate to order the house special sandwich called the Smoked Ono Club. It’s a cross between a chicken salad sandwich and a tuna fish sandwich… but with the crispy bacon, sweet vine-ripened tomatoes and buttery avocado, it may well be the BEST fish sandwich you’ve ever had! The other highlights of our meal were the risotto and the burger. While it’s not called a Kahuna Burger (it’s called the Chaz Burger) it still caused me to blurt out Samuel L. Jackson’s line, “This is one tasty burger!” And boy, I meant it. JP’s risotto was creamy, cheesy, with perfectly softened rice and full of flavor. These are items to definitely order again on subsequent visits. The carbonara pasta was a bit on the bland side and was lacking in the knockout flavors of the other dishes but our pre-teen enjoyed it thoroughly. The ambience is fairly basic yet the atmosphere is energized and bustling. The service was friendly and fairly responsive (when you could get your server’s attention). It was fairly busy when we were there, so it’s understandable. Give Fête a try next time you plan to be in Chinatown, you’ll be glad to put another Honolulu gem on your list of favorite lunch spots.
Was excited to try this place for a very long time! Everyone felt the apps/pupus were better than the actual main courses. FOOD 4/5 - The apps/pupus were better than the main entrees. - Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich = juicy and moist chicken but Kochujang sauce falls flat and Asian pear slaw wish they had more crunch. Too much sauce and the bread was soggy quick - Chicken Liver Mousse - SOLID no complaints here! Fête Salad and Basil Caesar - SOLID salads, fresh and crunchy! - Korean Market Steak - FAILED, didnt cook correctly 2x they tried and their sides were better: ginger scallion fried rice, cabbage namu - Pork Ragu - PASS - too salty for me - Kanpachi Fritters - not bad at all DESSERT 5/5 AMAZING ONO! - Rocky Road Ice Cream Manoa chocolate, house made marshmallows, dragée macnuts - Frozen Kulolo Sorbet Kualoa poi, coconut milk, black strap rum, vegan friendly - Olive Oil Cake Citrus olive oil cake, yuzu caramel, candied calamansi LOVED the add-on of candied calamansi SERVICE & AMBIENCE 4/5 Beautiful interior, tables, build out at Fete. The tables are very close to each other hence the noise can get quite loud. Service was PARKING 3/5 Can be difficult depending on the time you go. It’s a mix between metered paid or free after 6pm.
Enjoyed lunch at the bar with a sampling of different dishes. Very delicious. The place has a great neighborhood vibe in Chinatown. I wouldn’t say it’s affordable, but everything is expensive now hundred dollars is the new $20! Anyway, I’d recommend checking it out. The only downside why I’m giving it only three stars for the service was that I was greeted by one of the most rude people I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. I’m a foodie. I’ve eaten all over the world and that was one of the most negative experiences I’ve had walking into a restaurant. I almost just turned around and left without eating, but the bartender was so lovely he restored my joy and made me feel welcome.
Great restaurant on the edge of Honolulu's Chinatown district. Right on a corner so traffic can be distracting, especially sitting outside. Ordered The Korean Bavette steak. Good , well cooked but way too salty. Maybe I'm into food which speaks for itself w a little seasoning/herbs etc; however this was simply too too salted. One should be able to taste the meat and vegetables or garnish ABOVE or With the seasoning, not be hunting for the flavor of a signature dish... one member of the party thought a lot of salt meant it's great flavor- but how do you taste the food if it's over salted? The greens cooked with the Bavette were also really salty; figure if you heavily salt one you can leave the other naked, it will balance on the plate. The beef and the greens were cooked perfectly, though. The choice for rib eye as a protein was excellent; can hold lots of flavor, and is pleasant to eat. Just if you salt it in cooking, don't salt it after plating. Service was good, overall, very friendly and knowledgeable; but server kept having to come back for forgotten items.. Ordered a Bourbon for With dinner, received it almost halfway through after prompting by fellow diner. POG cake was amazing! I do love desserts, especially specialty ones. I can highly recommend Oahu for dessert menus. Fete did Not disappoint for that, that's for sure!
Overall, this place has good vibe and service, coming to food, I feel the menu is expensive for the taste of the food. I ordered chicken wings and I specified not to make it too sweet with the sauce but they literally made it taste like a dessert and the chicken wings had so much honey that one cannot eat, even the meat quality of the wings were not good, it stinked a little. The ginger rice was good, but was very salty. This place has waiting for seats, but I wonder recommend this place as it’s not worth the hype it has got. I expected the food to be good for the price paid, but it’s not worth. One time visit.
TLDR: hip spot that has room to improve on food dishes but great service We ordered a few cocktails that really weren’t very strong. The fete spreads were one of my favorite as well as the lemon zucchini risotto, that was top notch. As for the Korean steak, it looked properly cooked but it was tough and chewy. The carbonara was way too salty as well. I think the execution of some dishes were a bit off
The ice cream was...salty? The Good: service! Our server Kevin was incredible. The Ulu Aloo app was to die for, although we felt if it was served with steak it would've been the perfect main. We also enjoyed the Basil Caesar Salad with Crispy Chicken. The Mediocre: Housemade Cavatappi in a kale and mushroom sauce was more like gummy pasta in a saltwater gravy with a hint of lemon? Odd to us that there wasn't even mushroom flavor from the mushrooms themselves. The Bad: For dessert we ordered 1 scoop of Mango Goodie and 1 scoop of Cafe du Monde ice cream. We were told that the Mango Goodie was made with fresh mangos, condensed milk, and a secret ingredient. After tasting it, we realized the secret ingredient must be soy sauce? Maybe flaked sea salt? Nope...the answer: Sprite. When we tried the Cafe du Monde...it was also salty, especially the espresso cookies! Not sure what's going on in the bakery...but this experience solidified our perception of this restaurant. There are many more great restaurants in the area. Go to Fete for the great cocktails and impeccable service. Go elsewhere for an amazing meal.
Disappointing experience overall. We were really looking forward to dining at Fête, but unfortunately the experience fell short in several ways. The tables are packed extremely close together — to the point where we could clearly hear full conversations from neighboring tables, which made it feel cramped and uncomfortable. Service felt very rushed from start to finish. Despite ordering promptly, other tables who ordered the same dishes after us were served before we were. One item we ordered (fried rice) never came out at all, and the whiskey I ordered was unavailable — something that was only communicated after the fact. The food itself was inconsistent and disappointing. Several dishes were not seasoned as described, and seasoning levels were all over the place. One salad was so overly salty it was borderline inedible, while other items were under-seasoned and flat. Overall, the focus seemed less on hospitality or the dining experience and more on turning tables as quickly as possible. To make matters worse, payment felt uncomfortable — the tipping screen is presented directly in front of you while the server watches, which adds unnecessary pressure. Given the reputation and pricing, we expected much better. Sadly, this was not an experience we would repeat.
Honestly, it’s a let down. My friend said good things but the service was very poor. The manager in the front seemed exhausted and not interested in us; or waitress seemed like she was ready to go home. The food …. do not order the burger with foie. We were told we would get a specific portion size … it was half that and it cost $18 as an add on — the quality was poor. The burger itself was like something you cook with friends at a bbq. We had the Ragu pasta … sorry, just don’t. The hype isn’t worth the cost, time, or experience. Better off going to a local dive spot, spend half the money, and have a better night.
I really hate writing this, because I know how hard everyone at Fête works. I had a wonderful experience here a few months ago, so I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday. This time, though, something went sideways. It took a long time to be acknowledged after we were seated, and for the duration of our visit we felt forgotten. Our starter came quickly, but once it was cleared, we sat with empty glasses and no update. When we finally asked, our server explained that a fried half-chicken “takes time to fry.” That would’ve been helpful to know when ordering. What confused me most was that other tables nearby seemed to be having a great night, with attentive service and warm conversation. I’m not sure how we ended up lost in the shuffle. At the 45 minute mark, we decided to bail. The manager, Andrew, was gracious, understanding, comped our starter, and genuinely tried to make things right by inviting us back again. I appreciate that, but by then, the night was already gone. I wish this review could’ve been different.
