Shout out to GROTTOS for showing us love this past weekend. H-Town Card Show was having an event at George R. Brown and the managers brought over some pizzas for us to try. -Spinach with chicken like Alfredo 8 out of 10 -Pepperoni 9 out of 10 -Vegan with tomatoes 7 out of 10 -Sausage 8 out of 10. If you’re looking for a more classic type of Italian pizza this would be great! Hopefully we get more at the next show! 🤭 Thanks again Grottos!

The meatballs were great, I was making sure to get every bit of sauce. Great flavor! The waiter recommended adding the pasta to the shrimp piatta and it was to die for!

I really enjoyed my first visit to Grotto. The atmosphere was chill but still alive with a diverse selection of music playing. The staff greeted me with a smile and I was quickly seated and then greeted by Guiseppe who has such a lovely aura. She anticipated my needs, gave me great recommendations, and was quick without missing any details. I had the Chicken Marsala- tender chicken, a rich Marsala wine sauce served with mushrooms. Green beans were delicious and still had a nice firmness to them. The pasta had a yummy light cream sauce. I finished with the STRAWBERRY CASSATA- oh my it is so good and is definitely enough to share! You have to try it. I will definitely be back to more items on the menu. My only suggestion would be for the staff by the entrance to open doors for guest coming in and leaving.

Had a super good evening at Grotto. Very convenient to Marriott and Convention Center. Excellent food and short ribs were literally the best I have ever had. Mussels were very good in tomato sauce and meatball small plates were perfect size. Our wait staff Keisha was fantastic and truly made the evening 5 star.

In town a few day for a competition . Enjoyed our first meal so we came back the next day. One of the managers was even recognize me from the previous visit. I would definitely recommend eating here. Food was great and so was the service, Thanks Carlos and Mario.

We wanted to try this place and it was good experience to visit this Italian restaurant in downtown Houston. The atmosphere and food were excellent. Very romantic luxury kind of vibe. A very nice place to take your loved one for a special dinner or a date night. We had a wonderful dinner together. For appetizer we tried the rosemary honey focaccia. For dinner my husband has chicken Marsala and I had the Margherita pizza. Food was extremely good. We decided to try desserts and my husband had the Dark chocolate cake and I had the Homemade Bundt cake. I loved both of them. The orange rinds on top of my cake were yummy and cut through the sweetness. We would definitely recommend and definitely be back next time for a visit.

We were in town for a concert and decided to grab a bite to eat before the concert. Grotto downtown was recommended to us, so we headed on over. We used the valet parking. I think it was $13, maybe $11. The staff was very welcoming. The menu had a nice selection to choose from. The dessert menu...oh my. I would visit the Grotto Downtown again!

Just had the best meal that I have ever had at any restaurant ever, and I have been to so many!!! My Pompelmo Martini was delicious, as was the tomato bruschetta. But the star was the snapper with lump crab, green beans, almonds and brown butter. Absolutely the most delicious dish I have ever had. We decided to go back later that night for dessert since the place was that good. Had a mini tiramisu for dessert which was the perfect size and yummy, and also tried a bite of my coworker’s crème brûlée. I’ve never liked crème brûlée, but this was absolutely delicious and I absolutely would order it in the future.

Perfect downtown location across from parking area and connected to George R Brown convention center and a block from Daiken (baseball) stadium and Discovery Green Park! The restaurant is chic industrial design with indoor table/ booth seating! Outdoor patio area offers tables and booth as well! Staff is very nice and all areas helpful! Our server, Nick, was very nice! He was nice to take our photo! Food is very delicious! The pizza was made to perfection how i ordered it, extra crisp! The pasta was rich and creamy taste and very good! This location is ideal for lunch, dinner and especially date nights!!! Try the pasta and pizza for sure! Delicious and so happy Nick was our server! 😁💯👍

Wow! Love this place! The first impression is about the coolest restaurant atmosphere you've ever seen. Amazing design. Even the bathrooms were so great! But the greatness of this restaurant doesn't end there. The service and food match the atmosphere. An easy 5-stars across the board. Our party of 8 loved and savoured every bite of food. The portions weren't so large that you go home with doggy bags, but they were just perfect. I couldn't have eaten more. The menu isn't huge, but isn't that always the sign of the best food? There was enough variety that is was still a tough choice. And everything was served with total class. A joy for the senses--sight, smell, and taste. And hit the spot to satiate the appetite perfectly. We were at a conference in this very building and wandered around awhile looking for somewhere in the neighbourhood to eat and ended up coming back to the convention center to eat here. No regrets. Amazing food, service, and aura.

Popped in here pre baseball game and was pleasantly surprised. The place was packed but having a reservation meant that didn't matter. Our server was friendly energetic and helpful. Food came quickly and was hot and tasty. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Solid Italian spot. Food was fairly good. Did not try the pizza that looked amazing. Great wine selection. Amazing service. Unfortunately a fire alarm went off during dinner that went on for an hour.

I recently dined at this charming, rustic yet elegant restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is cozy, although it can get a bit lively at times, which might be a bit loud for those seeking a quieter setting. That said, the service was exceptional—our waiter was incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. The menu offered a great variety of options, and the food was absolutely delicious. The pizza, in particular, was expertly crafted and full of flavor, while the wine selection complemented the meal beautifully. All in all, it was a delightful dining experience, and I look forward to returning!

I went to The Grotto for a Valentine’s dinner with friends. The place is gorgeous and being downtown makes it feel extra special. Valet out front was easy and only about $12 which was nice. Our server was really friendly at first but kind of disappeared toward the end which was weird. The appetizers were good but definitely not shareable like we expected. Overall the food was really good and we still had a nice time. Beautiful restaurant, just a few service quirks.

Went to Dinner with a Friend. The server was Carlos and it was mediocre to say the least. We ordered from the Restaurants Weeks menu including the Bottle of wine. Our Salads came out before the wine and once he took our order he came by a couple times to see how we were but everything we asked for like Bread he gave us push back. He only poured the wine once, when he brought to the table. After that he wasn’t attentive at all. The Manager never even touched our table to see how we were. So the service was lousy. The Clam and Spaghetti was delicious!! But it would have been nice to have bread to get all the delicious liquid left over. The house salad was ok, the vinegar sauce was all red wine vinegar with no seasoning and every time we tried to get salt or parm no one was around. It was a good crowd but it wasn’t slammed in there so I don’t know why the service was so lacking. We were able to make the best of our time there. Not the same Grotto that it used to be. Service is everything
