Blue Orchid Thai Cuisine

It was one of those nights in Florida that was meant for dining outside. Our server, Chris was very personable. The food was delicious. We each had a cocktail and dessert after. A nice bonus was that my main course was complimentary because the day featured my first name! IYKYK. I’ve eaten here about three other times, and I plan to stop in a little more frequently to support a local business that has great food.

Hands down best Thai restaurant in town. We have been numerous times and every visit has been fantastic. Atmosphere is warm and lively, yet tables are nicely spaced apart for privacy. Outdoor and indoor seating, nice bar in addition to the restaurant. Our server last weekend was Travis and he was attentive and gave great recommendations. The food is simply outstanding, presentation is elegant without being overboard. We had a special curry that was served in a carved out coconut - so creative and delicious. We always love the mango sticky rice and the Tom Kha soup.

Brad was awesome. Tom Kha was excellent but please take the giant tomato chunks out of it. Crispy duck was amazing except for the olives(?) in the sauce. Highly recommend coming here for good Thai food

The food and service was top tier! The food was very fresh and extremely delicious! Our server EMMA was the absolute best! We loved her personality! We will definitely be back!

Love bringing friends and family on lunches and dinners here. Food is absolutely delicious and sitting outside near the koi pond adds the special touch. Waiters are always on their A game. I try to eat something different everytime I visit. So far I have not been disappointed.

Blue Orchid is easily one of my favorite restaurants not just in the area but anywhere. Wonderful atmosphere, kind people, and delicious food! Our waiter was knowledgeable, inviting, and understanding with us switching tables (our toddler does best in a booth). Additionally, the owner stopped by our table to introduce himself, and shared their story. He was incredibly nice, and welcoming, even allowing us to sample their newest desert! (10/10 by the way!) Can’t recommend them enough. My opinion is they’ve succeeded in being the best Thai food in Jacksonville!

What an amazing experience I had at Blue Orchid. All thanks to our server Toni who went above and beyond for my friend and I. She was very welcoming, kind, and efficient! I have a severe peanut allergy and she went above and beyond to ensure my food was peanut free with no cross contamination. The food was fresh and flavorful plus the atmosphere was very relaxing! 10/10 experience, we hope to have Toni as our server again in the future!

Food was outstanding. We arrived half an hour early for our reservation and the hostess was more than accommodating to seat us. The service we received from Kelseigh was top-notch. If you live in Jacksonville and haven’t been to this restaurant, you’re missing out. And if you’re just visiting, this is a must add to your dining experience.

Having Brad as our server made the experience extra nice. He is so kind and helpful along with being very attentive. The Cashew Vegetable dish was among the best I have had. We travel a lot & I had that dish in many states.

Truly a great establishment in every aspect, from the moment I sat down with my wife we already had amazing service from a nice server named Travis. The decor is very pleasant and interesting, the menu is absolutely perfect, no notes required. The food is excellent and more diverse than most places I’ve been, cooked perfectly and above well seasoned. The people here obviously take pride in what they do and they deserve every ounce of it.

We were a party of 12 celebrating a retirement for a friend. Sheena did an amazing job pacing our meals and was attentive and professional. They have a new menu since we were there last and I think it's better laid out. The food was fantastic as usual. One of our favorite places for lunch or dinner.

Brad was an amazing server. Very attentive. Food was very flavorful. I like that the music is not too loud and conversation can be done without having to scream. Gluten free option were varied. Keep in mind that beef protein option is +$10 extra.

My fiancé sent me to Blue Orchid as the first stop on my scavenger hunt date, and it was the perfect way to start the day. The service was absolutely wonderful — attentive, kind, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Ironically, my server’s name was the same as our daughter’s middle name, which made the experience feel even more special and personal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly filling. Every bite was delicious. On top of that, the facility was spotless and well-kept, which always makes a big difference for me. Such a sweet and memorable experience — I’ll definitely be back!

The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming elegant but still relaxed, making it perfect for both date night and casual dining. I ordered the Tom Kha which was delicious 😋 The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. Every dish was well-balanced with great seasoning and presentation. You can tell care goes into the ingredients and cooking process. Service was attentive, friendly, and quick without feeling rushed. Staff was happy to answer questions and offered helpful recommendations. Overall, this spot delivers on ambiance, quality, and service. Definitely one of the better Thai dining experiences in the area and a place I would gladly return to and recommend to others.

We came on a Tuesday around 4 pm, and it was happy hour (yay!) we had pad Thai and crab Rangoon, absolutely delicious. Mine was level 3 pad Thai and it was spicier than I thought it’d be (I’m from Indonesia and we eat a lot of spicy food). Overall great experience, will come back!

Our server, unfortunately I forgot her name, was very efficient and patient with us. Our food came out hot and delicious. First time trying their beef noodle soup and it was amazing. The rest of the group also enjoyed their meals. Since we needed space for our gift giving, the staff was nice enough to let us use their tables outside. Great food and service! Highly recommend this place!

We were celebrating our anniversary and had an excellent experience overall. The flavors were top-notch, and the kitchen handled my husband’s fish and nut allergies perfectly—they even had a fish-free sauce ready for his dish. It’s a very allergy-friendly restaurant with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend the Tom Kha soup if you’re looking for something unique. Oh and if you’ve never had the roti- it’s amazing!

The atmosphere is great & the food was delicious! The owner Jeff personally thanked me & asked for feedback about the menu. So many options! Definitely would recommend! The food was incredible, the patio was lovely, and we definitely had the coolest server (Toni). Loved it! I am bummed they got rid of the fried deviled eggs, it was actually the reason I wanted to take my partners car here - but at least the food we did get don’t disappoint

The food was the best. So fresh. So tasty. The portions were HUGE! As someone who doesn’t drink I really appreciated the good mocktail! Emma was AMAZING!!! She was so kind, fast, and super polite. She helped explain the menu to us. You would never know she just started here. 10/10 will be coming back for the food and to see Emma again!!!

We also ordered crab ragoons, chckn satay, chicken noodle soup, pad thai and pineapple fried rice everything slapped. We eneded our dinner with mango sticky rice and had to pair it with ice cream. My overall experience was good and since the visit i have been craving for thai food and visiting thai places in chicago.

I had an exceptional dinner tonight. The food was amazing and what made the experience even better was Sammie the Waitress. She is a Gem. She was so sweet and courteous. She made sure to check back in to make sure my daughter and I didn’t need anything else . She was amazing and I will be returning partly because of the service that Sammie provided.

Servers are always so sweet and attentive even when it’s crazy busy. Drinks are soo good ! I genuinely enjoy every time I come in and will recommend to anyone.

They were so crispy, creamy, and perfect that I’m pretty sure I saw a choir of angels singing in the kitchen. If loving these is wrong, I don’t want to be right. 🍽️ The Vibe & The Victuals • The Food: Everything—and I mean everything—was stellar. The flavors are so fresh you’d think the herbs were picked by a magical Thai garden gnome five minutes before they hit the table. • The Atmosphere: The decor hits that sweet spot of "fancy enough for a date" but "chill enough that I don't feel weird using the wrong fork." It’s beautiful, vibrant, and perfectly tucked into the Riverside scene. • The Service: The staff treats you like royalty. My server was so attentive I started to wonder if they could read my mind. (Note to self: stop thinking about dancing crabs in public).

Definitely recommended. Some of the servers need better training. I asked my server which of the three items were more true authentic Thai dishes and Thai drinks most likely to be found in Thailand and the answer was "I have no idea, they don't teach us that". Also none of the alcohol drink specials contain any brown liqueur. It's a very nice atmosphere and the food was fabulous! A must try.

Beautiful patio! Great spot for a date. My garlic pepper fry entree was very good. We were told spice level were 1-5 and I chose 3 despite the server stating 3 is very spicy. When I tried it, the spice level was perfect as well as the flavor. My friends raved over the Tropical fried rice. For dessert, they had the Thai donuts and ice cream which they liked and mentioned they were very sweet. Unfortunately, I chose the creme brulee for dessert; 10 of 10 do not recommend. Next time I'll go with the mango sticky rice.

I got the Thai fried rice which was very tasty except for the fact that they did not put the sliced chicken in my take out order which is a pretty big part of the meal and was highly disappointing. I would have called but unfortunately I did not realize till I started eating it after I finally got my kids to bed and was now going to enjoy a late valentine dinner with my wife and they were already closed. My wife got the glass noodle dish which was absolutely amazing. So yes this place is pretty tasty and I suppose I should have checked before I left but my suggestion is if you order takeout definitely make sure everything is there before you leave.my order number was 860662

Went recently for a girls night. This was my second time going. The atmosphere is very nice. Nice decor and lighting. Food was delish. I had drunken noodles. You get to choose your spice level. I said none but it definitely had some spice. I was still able to enjoy my foods. Pics are of: drunken noodles, pad thai, chicken satay, roti with panang, and bam/bang shrimp. Overall everyone loved their food. Pad Thai was sent back initially as my friend thought the noodles were dry and said the spice level wasn't accurate. The dish was remade and she enjoyed it. The shrimp also seemed to lack some flavor. I didn't try either of those, so can't speak directly as to my thoughts. Parking -there are 2 lots at the restaurant but also street parking available. Both times I've gone I've been able to park in the lots, however, I'm sure at busier times street parking is needed or parking down the street.

Disappointed. Mediocre and overpriced. Papaya salad is better than drunken noodle, mango chicken, duck parang.

Order vegetable fried rice The rice was wet. I don't know if it's water or grease. It was wet and soggy. Vegetables were cut extremely big.. just disappointed. I've had food here before and it was like that.

I was greeted right away, and told by the person who greeted me that I would simply just sit at the bar. I ordered my food, spicy thai basil, hot, with noodle soup. As I sat waiting for my food I couldn’t stop smelling this terrible smell inside the restaurant. It got so bad I had to say something to the person at the bar who was serving me. She knew right away what the smell could be (she said she didn’t smell it but it was quite strong). Apparently the floor drain in the bar area was the culprit. I did get up and walked away from the bar, in the bar seating area, and the smell dissipated. By this time my food was ready but I asked to relocate away from the bar. Now, the food… noodle soup came out first. Very tasty, fresh ingredients, very enjoyable. Then, Spicy Thai Basil, w/ground pork(hot)… they have mild, medium, hot, Thai hot, and Thai extra hot. The spice was perfect for me…I lived in Thailand for 3 years and Thai hot would be the basic(in Thailand you would have to ask for - no spicy to get the same as the “hot” here) Hot here was just enough to enhance the flavors and not burn your mouth. Now when it was served I did question why it was served in a bowl and more of a hardy soup than a stir fry but they just said that’s how they make it. Anyways, it was very good, just served differently than I ever had it before, still very good. The egg on top was nice and crispy with good flavor. So, back to the 3 star’s… Maybe a pet peeve of mine, but a business should NEVER have a bad smell. The place “looks” very nice and clean but if there is a known reoccurring smell… that’s just bad business. I was going to check out the bathroom but decided against it so unsure the cleanliness and/or if any smells in there or not.

This is a very late review, but my friends and I came back in September (haven’t been back since) to dine cause we love going out to try Pad Thai and different places. Parking was a nightmare, but I finally found a spot. My friends were already seated by the time I got in, and I believe they had made a reservation beforehand. Our waitress was nice and came to get our drinks, which came out fairly quickly. Since we saw it was a little busy, we decided what we wanted quickly so we could get it going. Two of us ordered the same appetizer, and all three of us ordered Pad Thai. This is where it went down. Our appetizers came out around 6:47, about 35ish minutes after we ordered. Our entrees didn’t come out till 7:31, and we were starving. We had been there since 6 and ordered shortly after. The food came out slightly cold, and we knew if we sent it back just to get warmed up, it would take a while. The spring rolls were fine and warm enough. My Pad Thai was a little on the dry side, but I ate it since it was over an hour before we got food, so I was hungry enough to eat. Our waitress basically disappeared after we ordered and had to flag her down to get refills, cause we had been out of drinks for a while since she never stopped by. I’m sure she was flustered by how busy it got, but a little disappointed overall with the experience. Unfortunately, I don’t think I'd visit this place again.
