Best service ever. Food the way it was meant to be. I don’t normally give 5 stars but this place deserves it
Loved the space, the food was delicious. Went with a group n the assistant with the menu planning was great. The waiters/waitress service was top notch Loved it.
Very quiet and private restaurant. Always clean. The items can be considered pricey. But not significantly so. I believe the cost is worth the food and service quality i got.
I love this place it is the best place it is good for dates family dinner birthdays and more this place was wonderful to visit the service food and atmosphere is lovely. I am satisfied. 👍👍
Still one of the finest in Jamaica and def worth a stop whenever ur feeling fancy and want something very yummy
Been eating at jade gardens since I was a child. The food and service is excellent. In my opinion I would say it’s the best Chinese restaurant in Kingston. Definitely worth the price.
I find this restaurant to be consistently good. Their food is similar to good Hong Kong restaurants. The owner is always present and very helpful and informative. They will do dishes not on the menu for you.
The food was good. The servers were friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu.
My wife and I visited the restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, excellent service, delicious food at a reasonable price. recommend
Great tasting food. Seemed a bit pricey for what we got. USD$130 for a meal for two. No alcohol.
The place is great believe me, Food, Service, Music was smooth and calming… it’s a great place to take your family or even your partner
Great place to eat with a group of friends.
I have been going to jade gardens from I was a kid. Food was lovely. The quality is still there. Excellent customer service.
One of the best Chinese food restaurants in town. The ambiance is pretty good. It’s not quite on the level of one of the other fine dining restaurants, but it’s pretty close. Expect some loud chatter from other tables (if yours isn’t already the culprit). It was spotless, not too cold, and has provisions for toddlers with high chairs on standby. The food was amazing. Almost perfect 👌🏾. Hard to tell when last I’ve enjoyed EVERY item I ordered. Sweet corn soups, Singapore noodles, Roast pork and Sweet and Sour chicken. I don’t even eat SS chicken based on experiences at other Chinese restaurants. You usually just get tiny morsels of meat slobbered in thick batter. I just bought it for the kids.... but it was soo good. No batter... just great cuts of chicken in a wonderful sauce. The servers were all pleasant, food came out in good time and without error. I wish I could take away 1/2 star though. The pricing on drinks are excessive. $350 for one of those tiny 200ml sodas? The red stripe beer cost pretty much the same as a Shirley Temple (Sprite and red syrup). 🤷🏾♂️ Other than the night club drink prices, pretty good value for money given the quality food and service. I’ll be back.
Rita and her staff are awesome! We wanted to celebrate our parent's 60 anniversary in a special way. Rita the manager worked with my wife and I to plan each course of the meals. The beef sautéed in pimento was to die for. Most importantly however was the service. Rita made us feel special and welcomed. Needless to say that the celebration created memories that will not be soon forgotten. Way to go Rita, Michael and the rest of the Jade Garden crew.
Loved it. Coming from the UK I was missing home foods. The Chinese was really good and can say it matches with the restaurants in England. Service was great our server Donavan was helpful and we had a birthday and he hooked us up the a cheese cake and a candle. A few of them came out singing happy birthday as well. Next time in Kingston I'll defo be stopping by.
The food, service and ambiance were on point! They serve an amazing Dim sum all day everyday ! A must have is the salt and pepper pork which was so surprisingly tender and the cabbage roll (stuffed with noodles). The cabbage rolll for sure will now be a new staple on our repeat visits.
Everything was exceptional from the moment we entered, it was a very warm and fulfilling experience, the waiter and staff was superb, great ambience, I will definitely go back and also recommend it 100%, and the FOOD was very delectable and worth every dollar...5⭐
Gem in Sovereign Plaza. Food is always top notch, as is service. Pricey but well worth the extra$$.
Jade Garden never disappoints. Since we've been here we've dinner in multiple times and we have also ordered take out. Food is always fresh.
I've been going to Jade Garden since I was 10 years old and the food has never stopped being good! It's been 7+ years since I visited and I had to go back and get real Chinese food from my spot. They never disappoint and the service is top tier.
This place is a highly recommended place to go I went there with my girlfriend for her birthday yesterday and it’s really amazing the service was great they care good care of their customers I will definitely go back there honestly ❤️
This was a spur of the moment walk in . Wow beautiful service last night and the food was the nicest Chinese I have had in a long time . I travel a lot and I really enjoyed will definitely come again when on Kingston Thank you
This place knows service and food. The food portion is great. I love them 😊
As soon as I entered, I was escorted to my usual table. Peter approached and after a brief exchange of pleasantries, I placed my order. The food was exquisitely prepared, steaming hot and deliciously enjoyable. The dining experience was exceptional considering value for the food, quantity of the servings, minimum waiting period, courteous service by Peter and a delightful atmosphere.
It was absolutely wonderful. I went for my birthday. I invited a few friends and most didn't show up, so I was disheartened and disappointed but the show must go on. The servers were very polite and had a white glove approach, which I appreciated it made me feel a bit better. They served us water immediately after we came in and gave us time to review the menu. I would say it didn't take a long time for the food to come out. First, it was the 6 was the wonton pork soup and the fried wonton with pork. I need to learn how to make that soup. It was delicious, and I will be eating it often. The fried wonton with pork was awesome, especially with the soy sauce with earth seasonings. The dinner came it was lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. The portions were enough to feed four people, and the fried rice was the best fried rice I have ever eaten. Micheal was our main server, and I let him know how much the food and service lifted my spirit. When we were about to leave, Micheal and a few of the other servers gathered and sung happy birthday to me, which was unexpected but beautiful. The cheesecake was to go, but it was delicious. I really enjoyed it. I would 10/10 recommend to anyone.
Went to Jade Garden for a business meeting and used the private dining room which was very reasonable. The food was excellent. the service was impeccable. We were hosted by Rita and she was perfect, pleasant and customer friendly. I would recommend to everyone for business meeting or just to dine. Make sure Rita takes care of you you will not regret.
Food is always fantastic. The owner is really hands on and really great. It is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. If you have a chance to go for dim sum here just do it. You won't be disappointed! Even through the pandemic Jade garden has continued to provide excellent service and quality food. Still some of THE best dim sum in all of Jamaica (albeit on the pricier side)
Absolutely the best oriental food in Jamaica.. Portions can feed 2 -4 people. The venue and staff is top tier.. I don't know what else to say more than get there now.
My favorite Chinese restaurant in Kingston. Great food choices and excellent service. The chefs have never disappointed us with our meal choices. The atmosphere is welcoming and the views are spectacular. Great space for gathering of any type. The bar although at the entrance of the restaurant is in its own alcove and is very intimate.
I hadn't been to Jade in years and my niece was here on a visit so we decided to go to Jade. All I can say is ten out of ten for everything. The portions are healthy, the food delicious, presentation excellent, service was the best I have seen in a while. No long waiting for food. No regrets I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious authentic Chinese food
People from mainland China always say this restaurant serves real Chinese food. I've been to Chinatown but Jade Garden's food is much better! Be warned though. Invariably, the bill will be $5,000 per person but for great tasting food that is definitely worth it! The waiters are also so courteous and the manager can be requested to recommend a delicious dish. The place is so huge that they space out the customers so you have your privacy.
My second favorite Chinese restaurant in Kingston. They don’t use MSG in their food. They have a good Sunday dim sum and wonton soup in two sizes (regular & large). A little pricier than your average Chinese restaurant but there’s also a marked difference in quality versus the average Chinese restaurant
The food is good, but really pricey. Of course, everything is expensive in Jamaica, so we are use to it. The service was non-existent. But, if you have been here long enough you are use to it. IF that restaurant was in New York, the price would be 3 times to eat and it would get 2-star because of the lack of service. However, in Kingston it is at par with good restaurant. 7 people cost us 41,500 JMD, a little over 300 USD. Would have been 100$ in an expensive restaurant in Beijing, but its JA.
Nice food and nice atmosphere. Good service as well, my only complaint is that they are a bit more over priced than similar Chinese restaurants and I can't see why.
Easy access, plenty parking, spacious and pleasant ambiance. Service is excellent. Food came in good time and was very good.
The food is wonderful. Service is great and the restaurant appears very clean. The lunch box is special is not very good nut dinning is top notch.
A beat of its original splender ... or could it be my fameliarity and ecposure to the competing availabilities? Either way, which this is still a great, prestigious place to dine for special events, there needs to be a 'wow factor' to pull regulars back again and again. Still love the place.
Moderate sized restaurant with good dim sum. However, past experiences indicate that the food isn't always freshly made after a certain time. Also fairly pricey
Service was great and the food we ordered was excellent. A bit pricey though.
Food is great. The wait is worth it. Friendly waiters and waitresses and staff. Love their sweet n sour chicken.
Service was good, people were friendly and the food is great definitely a good place is check out, however it is expensive
I ordered the sweet & sour chicken with egg fried rice on the lunch special for $1000. It was pretty good. I wish the fried rice had stir fried vegetables and some gravy was on it. Also, this is the first Chinese restaurant I've been to that gives raw vegetables instead of steamed.
Great atmosphere, the staff were mostly very welcoming and did a good job. The food was mostly pretty good. We took home some as we couldn't eat it all.
The food is quite expensive however I enjoyed the dim sum and lychee. The beef rice noodle were very filling. I didnt care for the shrimp dumplings. The servers were very attentive and polite plus with the environment being so nice it made it a good experience where I would visit perhaps for just dim sum and a drink.
Upscale restaurant. Outstanding service and nice environment. Dishes in my experience here are of mixed quality - some excellent (most of the dim sum), others mediocre and/or overpriced (cantonese noodles, dragon fish). Recommended for the dim sum - the full dim sum menu is available on Sundays
Good food, good service. Portions seem to get smaller every time we go, particularly for the price point (more expensive than average) otherwise this would have been a 5 star review. Please note: They claim no MSG and while I can't validate or invalidate this 100%, this may be why the food can come off as a little "bland" compared to other restaurants (MSG is probably heavily used in most other places, leading to a stronger flavour). Personally we find the food to be light and flavourful, with a good variety of options.
I made reservations, was running really late, the called to find out if I was still coming, then gave me the optional menu over the phone, pre-prepared soup as i requested, less than 10 minutes after we were there soup was served. Big ups to Devon, a real customer service person, warm, kind, accommodating and seek to meet the needs, really appreciate his kindness. And the food was really great and plentiful, my party of 8, including 2 seniors left very satisfied.
The ambience is great. The lighting is just right. The presentation of the food is quite good and the service is pleasant. It's a nice hideaway in the middle of all the bustle so it's a really good getaway spot. They have an assortment of juices and wines to choose from as well.
I'm biased because I really like Jamaican Chinese food. This restaurant kicks it old school with the decor. The vegetables were very fresh.
Take out review - Good food, bad attitude. They open at 11:30am.. not a minute before but usually a few minutes after. And they will not take an order at 11:32am if the cashier is not ready until 11:33am. Don’t ask any questions.. that leads to exasperation and rolling of eyes while sternly explaining the system. Sour face. Very sour.
Such warm ambiance. Spacious dinning areas to seat both single/double/group diners. Thank you Jade Gardens for serving us over the years. Please could you bring back buffet style on Sundays. Diners are you nearby , do you know that their lunch special is hot! hot! It is light on the pocket . Share a secret from the menue sheet, the Subgum WarBar is a must - a favorite indeed for diners.
Always dreamed of being able to dine here and now that I have, I was disappointed. The place wasn't as fresh and fancy as I imagined based on the outside view and the service was wanting. Food quality was good.
I had not been here for a long time so wanted to try them out. We went for a late lunch. The waiter was good. The food was ok, not the greatest I have had from them. The prices were very expensive so I will not be returning.
The ambience is good. Staff work fast. Good standards are maintained. Soft music in the background. The cost of food is pricy which doesn't taste too bad. The lunch box special now open on Saturdays & that's a plus
Fancy, fancy Chinese dining experience. Prices were on the more expensive side, especially for Chinese food, but it was real good nonetheless. Decor and infrastructure bit outdated and I felt as if only Old Chinese people should have dinner there. It's not a highly recommended spot, but it's worth a try.
I’ve been ordering lunch here for the past couple weeks and it’s been really good! Today’s lunch was a little off form but definitely still better than most Chinese places. The lunch menu isn’t extensive but everyone should still be able to find something to eat. Call and order if you don’t want to wait but you’re normally in and out in 15 minutes or less for lunch.
3.4/5 pretty average place for westernised Chinese food. Not authentic Chinese food. I had the sticky rice lotus leaf, hot and sour soup, and chicken in ginger and scallions for 8100 jmd. The chicken dish was really good and above average quality chicken. The sticky rice lotus leaf was average and se with the hot and sour soup. This place is quite pricey. Overall, wouldn't recommend.
Ordered food on Kraven. The food was obviously old. Tasted horrible. Everything was overly sweet as well. Why would you put cinnamon in a chicken roll? Gross
There's a sign upon entering that says wait here to be seated. We noticed a group that came in just before us were greeted and led to the bar to wait there till a table was prepared for them. So we waited...multiple members of staff passed us and none acknowledged us. I had to go over to the desk by the front to ask if we were gonna receive service, pointing out that we had been standing there for a while without acknowledgement. Without apologizing, she asked us to sit by the bar, like the group before use had. It might be worth mentioning that the group before use were light skinned/mixed/white people, and we're a black couple. The food (dim sum) was good, but not so good that I'm sure I'll return. Had an issue with the waiter as well. Have received dim sum with much better customer service at other places.
The food was tasty however our server had earphones in and seemed not to hear us at times even though he was quite attentive when he did.
It’s a lovely dining atmosphere but ordering takeout from there the food tastes awful and it’s more expensive than the typical Chinese restaurant so that makes it even more disappointing. They need to step their game up because there are many alternatives.
It was filled with men in tight clothes, I ran away
The food sucks !! We had a luncheon where the food was delivered and everyone complained!! The fried rice was wet and sloppy my peppered steak was awful I would never purchase another meal there.
Very bad customer service over the phone. Whoever u have answering those phones need to be fired. Because they do not have any manners and u will lose ur customers. Very very bad. And lady whatever ur name is, ur a disgrace, go learn some manners.
The lunch box sweet and sour meal was terrible, would not recommend. I had the lunch box on two occasions last week and both meals tasted completely different, the first meal was far better than the second but still very below-par. The meat to rice portions were also ridiculous.
I ordered take out and was told it would be 20mins. When I arrived 15min before they closed my food was not ready and they were closing early. So they charged me way too much for a side of broccoli and chicken. It was rushed and disgusting. Not taste or flavor just spice. I would not recommend coming here at all. It was very disappointing.
Went there with my family for Sunday dinner, what a desaster it was!! I expected this place to live up to it's name and produce great food! We got the opposite, the food was not done to order at all but rather microwaved and yet still they brought it to the table cold. Ask them to reheat it, it still came cold. We all ordered protein dishes and it was five of us. The rice they served could only share for four of us and we are not heavy eaters. Over all it was a very disappointing and very expensive experience cost us $25000+ and still had to go downstairs and bought something hot from Little Tokyo. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND JADE GARDEN TO ANYONE!!!!
I would give NO STARTS if it were possible. Absolutely the WORST service I have ever experienced at Jade Restaurant. My family and I will NEVER RETURN. The bad service commenced as early as setting the reservation for a party of eight to the end when we were paying for the bill (Dutch). I would not recommend Jade Restaurant to anyone after the way we were treated. There was no real flexibility with the reservation, the two waiters mannerisms were rude and off-putting, the cashier was inflexible with our payment option (Dutch) and we felt rushed from the time we changed the reservation from 7.00 pm to 7.30 pm, as we were given the impression they closed at 9.00 pm rather than 10 pm. I am so dissappointed. This is the restaurant where my father proposed to my step mother, it's also where we had our Father's 60th birthday. Jade was usually a place of choice, but NEVER AGAIN.
Worst experience EVER. Ordered on the app and the food was atrociously horrible. Do not order from this restaurant. Manager was awful, did not try to solve problem. Overpriced with poor value. Do not buy spare ribs, completely overpriced for two small servings. Hard noodles, poor quality. Do not order from this restaurant. Choose another Chinese eatery.
The most unseasoned piece of meat that has ever passed my lips. I got sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. The fried rice was meh at best, the sweet and sour chicken was unseasoned, not even salt and black pepper by the taste of it. It was also super dry worse since they used breast meat in their sweet and sour. Overcooked and under seasoned. The portion and price were decent though but I don't think I can eat more than the three bites I took, wish me luck.
Went for Sunday Dim sum at1pm, and I guess if you were not a regular you were not acknowledged. I asked the lady at the desk how long was the wait time she informed me that I had to wait on the host. I also asked for the WiFi I was told again wait on the host, after about a hour and half of waiting and seeing people who came after me get serviced I left.
There is nothing chinese about this place but the menu, maybe I am a little picky because I have lived in Chinatown before. When you order 3 different kinds of beef that should taste totally different and they all taste the same. No hint of any chinese spices, but the soy used to prepare the meals.
Definitely NOT going back. I'm a local customer and it was my first time going there for a friend's birthday celebration. They clearly did not value my patronage. - The staff was extremely inattentive. I had to leave my seat multiple times to ask for a menu, for water, for even a PLATE to eat from (which was given with no cutlery -_-). - The staff was downright rude. Questions were a bother for the waitress. When asked about somewhere to rest my bag (so I would not have to put it on the ground), the waitress crudely informed me that Jade Garden customers walk with their own bag holders, indicating that I should have done the same. What rubbish. The restaurant closes at 10:00pm on a Friday. By 9:30pm, they were packing up everything and suddenly became attentive to my table, clearing it with aggression, trying to inconspicuously hurry us along. -The food was average. I've been to many Chinese restaurants in Jamaica and for the price, it was not worth it. My money is best spent somewhere that will value my choice of restaurants and Chinese restaurants are dime a dozen in Jamaica. Do yourself the favour as well and choose another restaurant to dine.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Terrible experience. NEVER order the Chinese Pork Sausage. It was raw, unseasoned and just generally bad. Portion size was terrible, small bowl of rice and the sausages were less than 1/3 of the container. We also had the chicken chow mein, once again trash. The server was also very curt and abrupt. The business closes at 10, even if you want to go home the customer should not feel like they’re annoying you! Jade Gardens can’t get another dollar from me. Total revamp needed. I have NEVER been this disappointed with an asian restaurant in my life.
Too expensive and the food is basic. $13,282.5 for one person is ridiculous and I didn’t order anything bougee. It was a basic sweet and sour pork, broth for appetizer and a strawberry daiquiri. No option for sides I only got the barky white rice. I was having a good birthday until my food came, not even a tiny patch of vegetables in sight, so-so white clammy rice and meat. Imagine that! I would not even as much as walk-by this restaurant again.
If I could give this place 0 star I would. The only uptick is the atmosphere. Food pricey and not the best at all. Fried rice wasn't giving and the sweet sourchicken tasted and was giving "longtimecooked". Please review your bill because these people pad your bill and charge more than what the cost is on the menu pricing and act surprise when caught. The 2 old Chinese lady kept watching the room we rented as if she is an investigator, leaving an uncomfortable feeling. Patrolling and looking in constantly. We paid for the room, in advance, with an understanding of the event we were gonnause it for. I will never recommend this place. Better places are in Kingston with more reasonable prices and way better service.
The worst tasting food ever. This restaurant is probably one of the most expensive and the food was absolutely horrible. Do not ever go to this place. Wings - Unseasoned, over fried, tasteless pieces of garbage Shrimp fried rice - Shrimp undercooked, was not seasoned, tasted nothing like fried rice Sweet and Sour - Sauce was extra tangy, did not taste like sweet and sour, serving portion was not worth the price tag of over $3000 JMD Mallah Chicken - I must be an idiot because I’ve never gone anywhere and seen Mallah Chicken look like it was sweet and sour chicken, it tasted like the sweet and sour but the sauce was even more tangy, the portion size was also ridiculous for the $3000 plus price tag Martini - Tasted like they used stale lychee, tasted like they mixed wray and nephew with water Pineapple juice - I mean come on…. how do you mess up pineapple juice??? The juice did not taste like pineapple juice and it left a bitter taste in your mouth after I’ve been to many restaurants and this is by far the most expensive with the WORST FOOD and the WORST PORTION SIZES. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER! This place deserves negative stars.
