Restaurante pequeño situado en el casco antiguo de Arcos de la Frontera. Tienen una carta bastante amplia de platos, todos caseros. Tanto las tapas como los platos principales que pedimos para cenar, nos encantaron. Los chicharrones de Cádiz, el rulo de queso de cabra y las croquetas de puchero, buenísimos. Los principales, tanto el solomillo como el atún, muy buenos pero a destacar, sin duda, el atún, recomendable sin ninguna duda! El servicio de los camareros durante toda la cena fue excelente. Recomiendo reservar mesa ya que es un local pequeño aún que cuenta con terraza también.

Un lugar magnífico para comer situado muy cerca de los prinipales lugares turísticos. Comida casera muy buena: pincho de langostinos con bacon, gambas de cristal con pimiento asado y huevo, albóndigas de choco y un espectacular solomillo ibérico al pedro ximenez. Calidad, cantidad y precio inmejorable. Sin duda volveremos.

Situado en el casco antiguo de Arcos de la Frontera, en calle estrecha pero funcional. No hay sitio para aparcar pero se puede acceder caminando sin problemas. El servicio es excepcional, ofreciéndote experiencia y efectividad. Llegamos para cenar y nos ofrecieron pulpo, vieiras y otros productos frescos del día, además de otras sugerencias. A parte degustamos carne al punto con plancha en mesa para poder acabarla a tu gusto. Postres buenísimos. Recomendable.

La comida muy buena..Nos trataron de forma amable y muy atentos. Hicimos reserva ya que el salón es pequeño aunque confortable.Tiene terraza pero hacia frío y preferimos dentro. En cuanto a los platos empezamos con plato de queso de cabra payoya .. Rulo de salmón con queso crema y aguacate..Brioche de carrillada y el plato estrella que repetimos solomillo de vaca retinto . Muy recomendable...y sin duda repetiremos

La comida increíble y el trato inmejorable, los camareros fueron super amables y atentos. Sin duda volveremos. Recomiendo el Rulo de queso de cabra gratinado con mermelada de pimientos rojos!! :)

What a GREAT meal!!! Recommended by a native of Arcos, this is refined cuisine in a simple mountain setting, and ridiculously affordable. We were unsure what to expect when we walked into the empty restaurant at 8 pm, but we were about to have one of the best meals of our three week trip through Andalusia, in a restaurant that was packed with Spaniards by the time we left. Version with sherry sauce, baked goat cheese on homemade red pepper marmalade, great local wine, even the olives were the best! Loved it, and wish we had time for a second+ meal at La Carcel.

Some of the best food we've had in almost a month of travels in Spain. Off the menu for a tuna steak, pork chops with sherry gravy, sautéed mushrooms with truffles and egg yolk. Local wine was excellent. Real care and attention to quality and service. What a relief after the tourist traps of Sevilla!

Great food and wonderful service from Valeria. Extensive menu with option of 1/2 or full portion on many items. We had salmon rolls, artichokes and crispy prawns. All were delicious!! La Cárcel is recommended by the Rick Steves guidebook and by our guide and I can see why. Arcos de la Frontera is an amazing city, so if you go there, stop here to eat!!

Wonderful food - especially recommend the prawns with sweet chilli sauce. The waitress was especially lovely, giving good advice and being very tolerant of our low level of Spanish! The chicken fritters were excellent, only slightly different from traditional croquetas. Iberian pork was exactly as expected. I suggest enjoying the main dishes, and not having dessert.

Located near the top of the hill along the main tourist route, La Cárcel is a great place for lunch or dinner. The food is excellent and extremely well priced. The warm goat cheese and homemade red pepper jam is outrageously decadent and an excellent plate to share. The staff are very friendly and the timing of delivery for multiple dishes excellent. The location is on a narrower part of the street so its not the best for outdoor dining and you might want to try somewhere further along the road if that is what you are after. Inside is bright and clean.

One of the best meal we had in Andalusia ! The restaurant was relatively quiet when we arrived by 8pm but it soon got busier. It’s a charming little place with great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff/owners. My husband had a cold beer to quench his thirst while I tried the dry white sherry. It’s a quaint taste but I liked it. With the meal, we ordered the red wine by the glass in a way to taste different ones instead of buying a bottle you might not enjoy. Anyway, they were all good . Our favourite was the Quadis. As for the gorgeous food, we shared the artichokes with ham, the croquetas caseras and the pork in wine sauce. All amazing ! Simple but lots of flavours ! À the table next to us, they also had the revuelto de baclao which sounded fantastic too but we were too full to try it… Don’t miss this place when in Arcos.

We stopped here for some tapas before going to Arcos de la Frontera. Everything was delicious and super cheap. The crockettes cooked in a pot were the best we've had in our trip so far. The king prawn puff pastry were also delicious. They were like mini egg rolls. The date and cheese puff pastry was also good but very rich. If we were to come again we'd pick a dish with fresh seafood instead of three fried tapas.

I have been in Arcos for over 20 years. This is by far the best restaurant in here. The food is so so so good and very reasonably priced.

Se encuentra en el casco antiguo, sitio fenomenal. Es un local reformado. Antiguamente era un bar de desayunos, copitas y tapeo. Una vez reformado se ha convertido en un "pequeño" restaurante donde tiene varias mesas en el interior y mesas baja y de cóctel en el exterior estando el tiempo bueno. La comida fabulosa, al menos lo que comí ayer, especialmente el revuelto de bacalao, las croquetas con alioli de hierbabuena y la presa ibérica con jamón serrano que estaba de lujo. Tiene una carta bastante completa. El personal de diez, muy atentos y amables. Único inconveniente; no hay aparcamientos, hay que dejar el coche abajo y subir andando. Por lo demás, todo bien.

delicious little restaurant in the middle of a very small street. we ate outside, the service was exceptional, the waiters were very friendly and took the time to communicate with us (as we barely speak Spanish but understand it well). The portions are generous, the food is fresh and tasty. The one star missing is for the drinks : the white wine and the sangria that we ordered didn’t taste much, but overall we had a great time! we paid 57€ for 1 « media » (1/2 portion) entrance, 2 main dishes, 2 glasses of white wine and 2 sangrias.

El sitio se encuentra en la mejor zona, en pleno casco antiguo, es bonito y acogedor. Pedimos para picar 2 personas : el pan de briox de ternera, una delicia podría comerme 3! Las croquetas caseras, estaban buenas pero mejorables, los puerros con queso tenía una textura buenísima pero el sabor un poco fuerte para mi gusto y la salsa demasiado dulce, y las patatas con huevo y jamón aceptable (el jamón muy bueno), las patatas podrían mejorar. 2 aguas y 1 kas todo por 36,20 precio razonable.

TOURIST BEWARE We had eaten here before. Google says the place is open for dinner and confirmed by this business. When my wife and I went at 8 the waiter snickered and told us it doesnt open until 8:30. So we went elsewhere. Plenty of other places HAPPY to accept your money. Making customers feel stupid and laughing at them is no way to run a business.
