Jackie's Bar and Grill

I came here a couple weekends ago after browsing a few pics and Googlereviews. A few things stood out for me, the menu, the $10 mimosa and the ambiance of the outdoor patio for eating. It also had live music! When I arrived I grabbed one of the outdoor covered tables. It was a Sunday morning and it was time for brunch!  I was greeted promptly and served water along with a bottle of champagne and juice for the $10 mimosa we ordered. I ordered my food and enjoyed the life music while my food was being prepared. I had ordered the Old School (Two eggs, with your choice of pan sausage or bacon and a homemade cheddar biscuit or toast). I chose pan sausage and a homemade cheddar biscuit to go with mine. Grits also came with it.  I'm not a fan of grits, so I won't speak on their grits. However the rest of my breakfast was amazing. My eggs were cook perfectly like I ordered them. My pan sausage was tasty, smaller than I expected however. The cheddar biscuit was delicious. Even the included fruit was fresh and sweet! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My date had ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was moist and perfectly fried and tasted good. The waffles was great in flavor. My date and I enjoyed our eating experience at Jackie's Brickhouse. I definitely would recommend them for brunch and enjoy the included live music as well. On a side note when I visited they had a bunch of old school cars for show in the front of the restaurant.

Great Restaurant/ Venue! Very large inside. Lots of tables, choice of seating on patio, live music area with bar, inside. Side inside area with bar. You can still dine and not be in the middle of the live music crowd. Patio has a cool bar and is pet friendly. We saw a lady with a lizard there lol, lots of TVs and umbrella tables. Patio out front with no TVs or music, great if your wanting a chill dinner no music or crowds. Poll tables, games. Prices are fair. Food is great, highly recommend the pizza. Large portions. Great variety of drinks and beer, daily Happy Hour specials . Get this they even have a RV spots and cabins on the property! Very close to the Kemah Boardwalk and the water. It’s a must if your in the area. Great sound system and stage for the many GREAT bands they have. The Daniel Holmes band was playing when we were there and they were awesome!

Jackie’s Bar & Grill is definitely worth a try if you’re in the Kemah area. It’s conveniently located away from the boardwalk, there is ample parking available, and the restaurant in general is HUGE. My boyfriend and I tried the Philly Cheesesteak and the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (the star of the show in my opinion.) The cheesesteak was huge and could feed an army, I’d say it was good but not the greatest- it was slightly bland however I wouldn’t say I was disappointed, I’ve just had better. The chicken sandwich was delicious, definitely on the spicier side, and something I’m sure we’ll order again. Our server was so friendly and helpful, I wish I remembered her name because she gave excellent service throughout our visit. There was live music outside which everyone seemed to enjoy (we sat inside.) We had a round of beers then I ordered the Cajun Lemonade which is definitely on the sweeter side- if that’s what you enjoy I’d recommend it. All in all we had a great time and can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

Amazing food and great service. I've had most of the menu and I am constantly surprised at how good things are. Sometimes the music can be a bit much at 10am brunch... The only thing on the menu I don't like is the Nashville hot chicken. Grilled oysters are usually good but I've had misses, too.

Had an awesome dinner here! Staff was super friendly and attentive. The place is huge! Great live music and patio outside. We dined al fresco until a storm came in, but our waitress kindly warned us & said she could take care of us inside. I had their Nashville hot chicken with fried jalapeños on top. Chicken was cooked to perfection & the breading was on point. It wasn't spicy enough to my liking. Not a fan of the sweetness from the honey. Sweet potato fries were tasty. My husband enjoyed their crawfish & crab boil. He got the boil spicy, and that was my jam! Crawfish and crab were cooked perfectly. Definitely excellent heat level. He said this was the best boil he had this year. Our daughter had their side order mac & cheese for dinner with a fruit side. It was homemade, cheesy, goodness. Overall, cool spot & we will return!

The shrimp and crab were amazing! And Jessica gave us THE BEST service! Only complaint we have is the beer is never cold! Very disappointing! . But we will be back again and again and hopefully Jessica can wait on us again!

This was a fun place to have an event! Highly recommend. The bartenders and waiters were very helpful & quick. We had easily over 60 people and a drink would pop up in your hand as soon as you ordered it! We loved it so much. Will be back for sure!

This was my 1st time here and I hands down say it was a nice experience. I sat outside and the waitress was very nice. She was very attentive and checked on us multiple times without being overbearing. The food came out hot and good (needed a little more seasoning but thats just my preference). They had great happy hour and lunch options to choose from. I would definitely go back.

Stopped by Jackie’s Bar & Grill for our book club meetup. The service was on point, everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere was just right, relaxed but lively. Perfect place to grab a bite and hang out with friends. I’ll definitely be back!

We came on a Thursday night. They had live music playing, great performance. I had a few margaritas and my fiancé had vodka crans, which were actually on special for six dollars, Tito's ! not bad at all. We got an appetizer that included wings, and fried mushroom, delicious . The ambience was great. They had a big patio, even an outdoor section and an indoor as well. So close to home and we are definitely coming back.

This was my first time here. It was completely PACKED! My friend and I sat at the bar! The bartender was amazing! I didn’t think that Island 🏝️ mimosa would have me like it did! But it was GOODT! I had the chicken marisco and she had the bang bang shrimps! OMG THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! I will definitely be back! There’s parking in the back. So no need to worry about that. Great place for good food, drinks and music!

Food was great…brunch menu was excellent. We had the ahi tuna, a bagel with lox and cream cheese, the shrimp platter, shrimp, and grits, and breakfast tacos. Service was great!

We sat out on the patio and it was surprisingly cool, they have commercial fans blowing just the right amount. First thing we noticed were cat food bowls. Then saw a cat curled up sleeping. Then noticed they had a little tent/ house for him. His name is Jack. They take great care of him w/ vaccines and neuter, one of the staff kept him at their house a few days while he recovered... Our server was Preston, he was very friendly and takes his time for questions. The potato skin appetizer was phenomenal, with sour cream and ranch for dipping. The iced tea was great and when my glass got low, he showed up with another glass without as sking. My wife loved the ribeye sandwich and some of the best onion strips ever. I had the ribeye steak, next time I'll try the chicken fried steak. There was a guy playing guitar, acoustic and later electric, he was great!! It was one of the best dining experiences we've had. 🤠

This place is the Bomb! The food is magnificent as well as the drinks and the servers are the best! Atmosphere is great and always much entertainment inside and out! I love me some Jackie's!!!

This was our first visit to Jackie’s as recommended by a friend so we could grab a bite before the Sunday matinee of Guys And Dolls at The Opera House. We were greeted by Jackie who also waited on us. She was a delightful host who made us feel right at home and the food was fresh, hot and fantastic! I had the fried green tomato and grilled chicken sandwich and my husband had the country fried steak. Both wee suggested by Jackie and her tip to order the eggs over medium was perfect. Both meals were 10 Out of 10 Good. My mom Loved the avocado BLT and the sweet potato fries were some of the best we ever had. We loved the whole experience. Bonus was the shop next door called The Monticello Plant Boutique. Very cool spot!

I forgot how flavorful the crawfish were here. I live in SATX now. Pro Tip-go with the house seasoning. They get spicier as eat your way to the bottom. You wont be disappointed. The parkinglot is always full. They have plenty but it is a popular spot.

Had a great time. Shrimp po’ boy was excellent. Our server, Taylor was so attentive. Even made sure to set us up with a heater because I was so cold. Patrick Oliver entertained with great music. We are new to town and will definitely make this a regular place.

Jackie's Bar & Grill is the place to be on any occasion they bring in great bands from all over the area the waitresses work real hard to serve you when the house is packed. Like the atmosphere inside & outside both have great bars their food is great no matter what you order come see for yourself.

Pretty good place to go for food and drinks. They even have live bands sometimes. Our appetizer of potato skins was actually reaaly good. The chicken fried steak was delicious and the fried shrimp were huge and were not battered to heavily. Service was just good for not being to busy. They seemed to be busy talking to customers they already know. I guess that makes it a great neighborhood bar. Would go back.

We had the best service we've ever had at Jackie's last night. Our server Allie was amazing! Old school customer service: attentive without being intrusive, anticipating our needs, keeping our table clean and uncluttered, refilling our ice bucket to keep our beers cold! We will definitely be asking for her when we go back.

Really great place. Live music that really comes with it. There food is pretty good but not at there prices. It's not gourmet but you'll like it. A lot of areas to walk around to, if you don't get into the band. Nice stage setup. For sure a place to hit if you're wanting done night life while your in that area

Tried Jackie's for the first time last night for my 55th birthday. Was pleasantly suprised. Everything was wonderful! I had the personal pizza, my husband had the chicken fried steak and we shared some deep fried mushrooms. Was a great birthday dinner, and we will definitely be back!!!

My husband and I just moved to the area and wanted to try this place. The food and the atmosphere were fantastic. The service, however, was dismal. Never been here before, we stood waiting to be seated. Not seeing a “Wait to Be Seated” sign, we were about to seat ourselves. The awkwardness could have been avoided if the wait staff wasn’t standing by the bar chatting instead of greeting the customer. We put in our order and I ordered a drink from the bar. After about 10 minutes of seeing the bartender doing nothing, we attempted to flag down our waitress that was just standing around chatting with other staff. She forgot to put the drink order in. Our breakfast tacos and honey chicken biscuit were delicious. Our waitress never checked on us, but continued to chat with other waitstaff by the bar. We had to flag her down for to go boxes, & you’d think she would promptly bring our check instead of acting like she was put out for having to do her job, but no. We had to wait for her to stop chatting again. We will try the restaurant again because we really liked the food and atmosphere, & we’re optimistic about better service on our next visit. A suggestion? Waitstaff with long hair should maybe put it up? *shrug* I will edit to 5 stars if our next visit is improved!

We went when there was a band. This place gets packed. Get there early for a table and dont get up because people will grab your seat. The food was surprisingly great. Our table had bang bang shrimp and crawfish. All in all a.good time. Watch out for Mr. Policeman when you leave. They sit snd watch cars leaving the parking lot.

Decided to try someplace in Kemah besides our normal reliable, this was ok but not worth going out of your way for. Food was ok, service ok.

Decided to try dinner at Kemah since we live in Clear Lake (off of Bay Area) and this looked ok. The food and service were underwhelming. Now the place was good, maybe another management team will take over some day.

Our family is beyond upset after our experience with Jackie’s. We had been planning my dad’s birthday party for weeks, only to have our reservation canceled just minutes before the event. Seeing how disappointed my father was broke my heart. The way we were informed was cold and unprofessional, with no apology for the massive inconvenience. A birthday should be a time of celebration, but instead, we spent it stressed and frustrated trying to find a last-minute alternative. Completely unacceptable service.

The service needs attention. When your place is that big and you dont have the service quality to match it, it shows. Never had refills on drinks, had to ask 3 different people for silverware (finally just got it myself aling with napkins). Didnt see the waitress at one point for 25 minutes. Its sad because their food is terrific but what is the point if we can't enjoy it with very basic needs.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. We came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We made our reservation two weeks in advance and even had the manager personally confirm it beforehand. After driving an hour to get there, we arrived only to be told our table had been given away. Completely unacceptable and beyond frustrating. For a special occasion to be handled this poorly is inexcusable. I’m not sure who dropped the ball, but this was a horrible experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and we definitely won’t be coming back.

However, when we arrived on the day of the reservation, we were informed that our table had been canceled. The manager on site stated that he canceled it because I did not answer a phone call 30 minutes prior to our arrival. At that time, we were already on our way to the venue and simply did not hear the phone ring. We arrived on time, only to find out our reservation had been given away. This was extremely upsetting, as I had carefully planned this dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. What made the situation even more frustrating was that another party arrived 30 minutes late for their reservation and their table was not canceled. The inconsistency in how reservations are handled is very disappointing. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not be returning.

We had reservations booked two weeks in advance and even confirmed them again this week. When we arrived, we were told our table had been given away. The manager claimed he called 30 minutes prior and, because we didn’t answer the phone, he canceled our reservation. No voicemail, no follow-up, no grace period — just canceled and seated someone else. That is not how reservations are supposed to work. If customers take the time to book and confirm in advance, the restaurant should honor that commitment. Canceling a confirmed reservation because someone didn’t answer a last-minute phone call is extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. Very disappointing experience, especially after planning ahead.

We had a reservation at 6:30. The manager Matt McMillan cancelled our reservation because we didn’t t answer a call 30 minutes prior. We couldn’t answer due to getting ready but he went ahead and gave our table away to some of his friends. You can tell they were friends since they kept calling him by his name. He said it was a misunderstanding but we waited over an hour for a table but there were other reservations there who had our same reservation time that had their tables. Not trying to say they were racist but we were the only ones with a Hispanic last name that had their reservation ms canceled. Matt kept making excuses for it but nothing made sense. Be careful here making reservations, seems like the managers will cancel your reservation to make room for their friends.
