So happy that I gave this place a try while visiting Ketchum. It was easy to get a reservation and the food was excellent. My meatloaf was nice and hearty and the pineapple upside down cake was the best I’ve ever had. The building was also really cool because it was built in the 1880s. It really added to the ambience. Highly recommend supporting this place!
This is by early the best restaurant experience my wife and I have had to date here in Ketchum. Grace our server was such a pleasure with her knowledge on the dishes, extremely polite, and very efficient. Great atmosphere! Unlike most restaurants that are loud and played obnoxious "club" music, Ketchum Grill was such a change for the better. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Super charming cozy restaurant. We made reservations in advance as we tried eating there on Friday night and it was booked. Split the mixed green salad with apples and goat cheese and the fish and dessert. Everything was delicious
First time eating at this establishment, we had Lemon Noodles, and the Lamb Shank. Both were very well prepared and presented as well as tasting absolutely fabulous. Table service was top notch and we had an excellent meal that was satisfying on all levels. The recommended wine pairings really enhanced the meal and we would like to thank or server Jacob for his service.
Beautiful place to eat; the decour is country and it's the first place in Idaho that reminds me of a really nice restaurant in New England .. we ate out on a lovely shaded porch, inside was beautiful as well .. my husband got the meatloaf and it was amazing, I got the lambshank which was delicious but next time I'll get the meatloaf. Excellent service. They are very aware of gluten-free and they had excellent hard cider that isn't fruity and sweet ..
Good food. Busy dining but the waiters were super friendly and definitely need a reservation in advance. Old school vibes and dim lights. Recommend.
Good food, good service. I had the meatloaf, which was excellent 👌
The Ketchum Grill was AMAZING! We had a fantastic experience from the moment we stepped into the restaurant; waiting for our table didn’t even feel like a wait with a glass of wine by the fireplace. Every single employee was extremely kind and helpful (shout out to our awesome waiter Treyvon)! The food was delicious and incredibly well priced for the quality. Each dish was beautifully served and tasted even better than it looked. And the atmosphere made it a 100/10 experience all around.
Wonderful restaurant! We had leg of lamb, halibut, and Roasted chicken. Will definitely go back!
History is all over the walls, really fantastic pictures. Wonderful place to eat and enjoy the ambiance.
Service - impeccable Food taste - amazing Portions - generous You will not be disappointed!
The most charming restaurant in Ketchum. You can find everything from pizzas, pasta, salads to delicious grilled meats. A great variety of wines and home made desserts.
Really excellent fine dining but also offers some pizza choices. Prices were fair for a resort area. Street parking available. I had an excellent lamb shank and the duck breast was also excellent. Menu changes frequently from what I understand. Wine list was good and not outrageously priced. Pretty sure beer and wine only, did not see spirits on the bar and did not try to order. Located in an older house remodeled to work as a restaurant. Covered outdoor seating available when weather allows. Servers were efficient and not intrusive. Would certainly go back again!
We had a lovely experience tonight. Great meatloaf and NY steak, but we both Really loved the meatloaf. Steak was delish too though. Delicious creme brulee and their homemade ice cream was the best I've had. I don't usually love ice cream but it had so much flavor it was so good. We are on an anniversary trip so we weren't worried about cost, but it isn't cheap. We spent $100 and only drank water. But we both got dessert. Great service. Everything we had was great, would eat there again.
This place is absolutely phenomenal! The wait staff is so warm and friendly, every entree that each (4) of us got was unbelievably delicious and prepared to perfection. My husband got the steak and we were all DROOLING. We will definitely be back when we come back. If you only have one meal to eat in Ketchum...make it the Ketchum Grill!
The meals here are done so well! I love fusion, authentic, and ethnic food a lot, and to be honest, not a lot of American food hits my fancy, but this is different. The flavors are matched perfectly, the food well prepared, and nothing tastes out of place. I'm always amazed when places can take a food I've had all my life and make me enjoy it like the first time I had it. This place will melt your taste buds and I can't wait to come back and try something new!
Ketchum Grill has been my families go to upscale restaurant in Ketchum for 2+ decades. I have literally never had a bad experience here. The food is always impeccable, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the setting is delightful. Plan a visit, you won't regret it!
Beautiful spot hidden in the edge of town. Great decor and lovely warm inviting ambience. Staff are welcoming and provide fantastic service. Good wine and beer selection and food is very tasty. Would recommend the lemon noodles! Very rich flavour
Absolutely one of the top restaurants in the area. The food here is made to perfection and this is our choice for Special Events. The staff here are very fast and friendly, they ask us about our meal without being intrusive. I had salmon that was excellent, with just the right amount of sauce. The atmosphere is great, with lots of photos of old Idaho and some really unique movie posters. Located in downtown Ketchum with plenty of parking makes it very convenient. About pricing - Ketchum is a resort community; prices are always a bit higher. However, the price for 2 person meals with no alcohol was less than $60. You cannot get meals like this in LA or Seattle for anywhere near the price of meals at Ketchum Grill. A "must eat here" if you are visiting from out of the area.
Ketchum Grill has become my "go to" restaurant in Ketchum. Very much a locals spot with an appealing menu, and great outdoor seating at an 1885 historic home. The decor is a low key, authentic historic Sun Valley vibe. My favorite dish, which I've had 4 times in a row, is the warm spinach salad with chicken. Nicely presented with a generous portion of chicken, it's totally satisfying and an exceptional value at $19.
Delicious, unpretentious, very tasty and reasonably priced food. Lovely staff. Everything we had was fresh and prepared quickly and with care. The trout and ziti were full of flavor. Good selection of wine and beer that paired well with the dishes. The sorbet is worth trying! Nice, cozy atmosphere and we didn't have to shout across the table. Would absolutely visit again.
Cozy place with GREAT food and friendly staff. Would definitely come here again if we’re in the area. We loved all of the food from the apps to the entrees to the beer and wine. The ice cream is made there in the restaurant, I recommend the mint chocolate chip cookie.
We've been on the road for a while and had some pretty average and not inexpensive meals. Ketchum grill was by far our favourite meal on this trip. Serve was lovely, nice timing and top it off with strawberry rhubarb crisp 💕
The restaurant was great, though the customer service was exceptional! Our server, Bella, made us feel so welcome and seen. She went above and beyond to give us such a great experience. Additionally, their food is absolutely fantastic! The penne and salmon are great! If youre able to request Bella as a server, I would! I would also recommend the german chocolate cake! So delicious!
Great little restaurant in Ketchum, Idaho. We had the opportunity to dine here tonight and the food was much more than we expected. The dessert was great as well. The waitress was incredibly nice to us too. Highly recommended!!!
Exceeded my expectations. The patio seating is lovely and the service was really good. Halibut was perfect and the duck breast was quite good as well. Worth the visit.
Our experience at the Ketchum Grill was outstanding. Our server Beth was friendly and fast and had a good sense of humor. Everyone's meal was delicious and beautifully presented. My steak was outstanding. We had a amazing meal. The overall experience was very enjoyable.
Great sun valley experience. Tight dining but it didn't feel cramped it felt friendly. 9pm on a Monday and the restaurant still had a wonderful energy from fellow diners.
When a waitress asks you that's it. Or thats all is the most inappropriate thing you can say to someone who is choosing to spend Thier money here. I love their food. All of it is incredible. The duck is fantastic.
Great dining experience. Good food, excellent wait staff and hospitality. Historic home with nice niches to fine in. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the sun setting ambiance. Prices were very reasonable and plenty of parking nearby. We will definitely be back.
Food is really solid. I had a lentil and sausage soup that was amazing. The homemade bread plate was super good, although I wish the bread would have been warm and the butter not so solid. The place is a little quirky, but homey. We couldn’t even really tell it was open until we walked in the door! Overall I will definitely come back for more.
Very cute place, only issue was that we were sat at a very small 2 top. This was only an issue because it was in a small section with 2 other 4 tops and another 2 top. We were blocked into a corner. It was very uncomfortable. The homemade pasta was really good and the duck was also cooked very good. The veggies and polenta was a bit bland but over all very good food. The wait staff was very nice and attentive and I would go there again.
Very cute atmosphere -- an old restored historic house. Service was good. Menu was small, but that's okay. My husband loved his gourmet burger but I didn't really like my salad or entree. There was nothing wrong with it, the flavors just didn't work for me.
This is a very popular restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. Everything we ordered with the exception of the delicious dessert (chocolate mousse in hard shell chocolate) and the mushroom and barley soup (it was good), everything else was just plain, lacking in presentation and taste. Also, the kitchen was very slow and it took the longest time for our main dishes to be served.
It's just ok. Service was good. I had a salad and the fettuccine pesto. They weren't good, but weren't bad. Despite being called homemade, the pesto dish tasted like jarred pesto and was pretty underwhelming.
I was really hoping to love this place after reading all of the reviews. Super cute and cozy atmosphere with delicious sounding options on the menu. However, everything we ordered was bland. I had high hopes for the lamb shank and pesto fettuccine but it lacked so much flavor. It felt as though the chefs were not tasting their dishes as they came out.. I had to add salt multiple times to give it flavor. Yet, the service was great and wine was delicious.
Visited 6 years ago and had a completely different experience. This visit service was subpar. We had two different servers and neither seemed to really care. Never had our water refilled or follow up on additional drinks. We ordered one dessert and after dinner drinks. We were nearly finished with the dessert while drinks sat at the bar for 15 minutes before they were delivered by another person (owner maybe?). Ketchum has a lot of new food options now and probably would not go back here.
Lamb shank is usually mouth watering delicious at Ketchum Grill. I recommended it to others at our table, but unfortunately both servings were bland, tough, and lukewarm tonight. Very disappointing! Ketchum Grill was one of my favorites in the valley but no more. Enoteca, which is owned by the same family, is much better.
Service was a lot less attentive than I would've hoped. We had a large party which I know can be challenging, but our server should've had more help. Plenty of other restaurants seem to be able to handle big groups. It took so long to get drinks that at one point we started going to the bar. Bartender (Krista) was super cool at least. I generally try to be forgiving on service because good people have bad days too. The food, unfortunately, did not save the experience. Several people in my party were disappointed. Ribeye and lamb were both poor cuts, super fatty, and bland. 2 stars seems harsh but I'm unable to honestly say it was okay.
Good food and flavor....however the portions sizes for the $$ are definitely lacking. My husbands shrimp in the pasta were the size of a dime and he only had like 6 of them. My salad with blueberries had 4 total on it. If you’re hungry beware.
Overall, the food was okay. The portion size here is out of control. You would think you are sitting down at a michelin star restaurant with the 8 noodle lemon pasta dish they serve for $25+. When we told the staff this, they did not respond well to critique (which has been noted in other reviews).
We had a 6:00 reservation and it wasn’t overly busy. The service was TERRIBLE. We had 2 servers and waited for everything, to place our order, get our drinks, get our food, etc. It was unfortunate. The halibut special was delicious. The two pasta dishes were a bit bland. (Lamb Bolognese and House Made Ziti). We had the fruit crisp for dessert, and that was enjoyable, however the drinks we ordered to have with dessert sat at the bar as we watched our two servers walk by them more than a handful of times. By the time the drinks arrived, we had finished the dessert and the owner (?) was very snippy with us and not at all apologetic when we said we no longer wanted them.
I was really looking forward to trying out this restaurant. I've been to many of the restaurants in Ketchum. The menu looked great and the reviews are mostly high. However, I was very disappointed in my experience. The hostess & server were borderline rude. My food, which was overpriced for the portion, was inedible. The duck was overcooked and the wild rice was not flavored at all. The server never came back to see how our food was. The hostess walked by at one point asked "how is everything?" And walked off without waiting for a response. Once the server eventually came back to collect our plates, I informed her that the duck was inedible. She said sorry. And took the food. Didn't offer any type of replacement or refund. There was also a very strong teak oil smell throughout the building. The tables were so close together, it was uncomfortable. My spouse had the Bolognese, it was decent, but for the price, not worth it. The bread had nuts, which I wish the server has mentioned prior to ordering. I will definitely not be returning.
The best that can be said was the nice evening weather on the patio. The wait staff recommendation turned out to be pasta with a basic lemon cream sauce that included a few small shrimp, the size normally found on a house salad. Very disappointing for about $25.00 per plate.
This restaurant came recommended to us so we decided to give it a try. Service was lackluster. No server came to our table for some time. We finally got drinks from the hostess. Food came too quickly. We had the mezze plate which I didn't find interesting or flavorful. Second round of drinks had to be ordered through the hostess again because the server was basically MIA for our meal. We ordered trout and duck. The duck was cold and the side of kale was basically uncooked kale. The trout was just ok and nothing to speak of. The server was quick to give us the check. This restaurant will not be on my return list.
We looked forward to going to Ketchum Grill for lamb shank. When we arrived the host was rude...did not smile...no eye contact. When our lamb shank was served it was extremely hot and had obviously been microwaved and the end result was an extremely tough piece of lamb. Very disappointing. At end of our meal we asked for carryout bags to take bones home to our dogs. The owner was impatient and rude to my gentleman friend and rolled her eyes at his request for a second bag. It was completely unacceptable, Our meal was ruined by the toxic attitude of the owner and her staff. We did not see one genuine smile the entire meal. It was extremely disappointing. Whats really sad is a friend forewarned us earlier in the day the place has lost its charm......
Food was mediocre and overpriced. Server was arrogant and condescending especially when questioned about the fingerling potatoes that looked and tasted a lot like French fries. It was an overall miserable dining experience!
Stay away if you are a solo traveller. They were not very busy and refused to seat at a table. The excuse they will get very busy and are short staffed. The logic does not add up.One person would take less service then a group of four. Also I was early and waited around and half an hour later they were still not busy Basicly got refused service as I was a party of one.I can not endorse a business like that.Very inhospitable. Solo Guests are not appreciated.
Didn’t really like this place after I found a long blonde hair in my desert! I told the male waiter and said sorry but not even the manager came to apologize. So, I said no to another desert and told my friends that we’re dining with me and saw the hair, that we will never come back here.
We were in Ketchum for my birthday weekend on December 13th and chose Ketchum Grill to support a local restaurant. Unfortunately, it was a very poor choice. We arrived at 5:02 PM, and even after I mentioned it was my birthday dinner, the host told us that their reservations were the priority and that we would need to be gone before 7:00 PM. Not exactly a welcoming start. Our female server was blunt and dismissive from the beginning. When I asked for a simple recommendation, she responded in a way that made me feel uncomfortable — but I went ahead and ordered her recommendation anyway. What I received was inedible: a well-done lamb burger instead of medium-rare and undercooked potatoes. I took two bites and couldn’t continue. No one checked on us during the meal, and when the server cleared the plate she simply asked if I didn’t like it — yet the full charge stayed on the bill. Afterward, I spoke with the manager, who apologized and even acknowledged that there had been prior issues with this server. But she had not checked on us during the meal, and nothing was done to resolve the situation. For what was meant to be a special birthday dinner, this became the worst dining experience I’ve had. I would not return, and I would not recommend Ketchum Grill.
