We stopped here for a late lunch - 3 pm on a Tuesday. We were heading home from an RV trip to the Valley, so we were towing our fifth-wheel. The huge parking lot made it a convenient and easy stop. We were the only customers there when we arrived. Our server greeted us promptly and took excellent care of us. We both ordered the two meat plate. I got pork spare ribs and sliced brisket with grilled asparagus and cream corn. My husband got double brisket with borracho beans and potato salad. Both meals were served with delicious fresh jalapeno cornbread, sliced pickles and onion. The table had two bottles of house-made sauce: original and sweet heat. Although the sweet heat wasn't spicy, it was so good! The brisket was lean (without being dry) and quite tasty and the ribs were tender and flavorful. The taste of the beans was perfect, but they could have been a little warmer. The grilled asparagus was nicely seasoned and cooked just right. The corn and potato salad were okay, but not anything to brag about. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.
If you say only one sentence to share my experience here, I'd say the owner really loves and know how to BBQ and make sure all the foodies enjoy here The chili is beyond my expectation in terms of the amount of the meats inside. All four of us enjoy it, including my 9 month old. The portion provided here for each dish is so generous. Very high Quality/Price Ration to dine here and great for any occasion.
Stopped in for lunch before heading to the Rattlesnake Roundup in Freer later in the evening. Glad I did they brew their own beer here which is AWESOME🍺. Got the pulled pork and onion rings on the Smokehouse Salad and it was great with my flight of beers 🍻. Definitely will stop again when I’m in the area ✌️
Great food with great prices. I had sliced brisket and pulled pork with sides green beans and baked potato. She had the smokehouse salad with two types of meat. The beer flight (3 beers) was very nice. The chips and salsa were good, but we didn't eat much of it since there was so much food. We were very hungry, and this really hit the spot.
Loved this place! We were on our way back to MO, 13 hours left, stopped here so glad we did! Our server was super helpful, we had a 100 Q’s, and super friendly! Food was great, portions were great, prices fit the plates! Would definitely recommend and stop again! Brisket nachos and two meat plate so yummy!
Food was awesome! Appetizers where amazing, the drinks where well made, steak was cooked just like how we liked it and the dino rib was perfectly seasoned. The sides that came with the rib meal where bland but didnt detract from the main focus of the meal. Will definitely come back again.
I had a great experience here for dinner. I came here on a Tuesday night. It wasn't terribly busy. I sat at the bar and was attended to. I was not overly doted on, nor was I ignored. The service was just the right amount of attention. The ladies at the bar were friendly and available. They both stayed busy the entire time I was there. The food arrived quickly and was all very solid. I had a ribeye with asparagus and a baked potato. I also ordered their homemade queso and chips. Everything arrived promptly. It was all hot and fresh tasting. The steak was cooked the way I requested with perfect grill marks. The flavor was pleasant and smoky. If I was to nitpick, the steak was a little thin cut, but not overly so. The asparagus were fresh tasting and also had a good smoky flavor. The potato was on the smaller end, but it was loaded as I requested. I thought it was pretty good value for my money, too. I really cannot think of any negatives to say. I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner.
It's a random stop and glad we did! I had to try a chicken Taco, and it did not disappoint! I also had to try the brisket sausage hoagie/po boy with sweet potato fries. Delicious. It's always a rule of thumb with Texas BBQ that if you can smell the smoke as you walk up to the building, you know it will be good. This place didn't have a strong smoke smell, but with all new types of smoker, I'm sure it was a heavier smell in the kitchen. Either way the food was great.
I was told about this fabulous place that's always busy. Mmmm, I thought there must be something going that I should find out first hand. So Friday evening I hopped in the truck and met my team there. Okay didn't seem to be anything special from the outside just a giant bull in front and a parking lot filled with cars. Was I amazed at the feeling of welcome to the best little town secret spot. I joined some coworkers who were finishing there meal. Samantha was aware I was coming and already knew what I wanted. She quickly got me a drink and told me my options of sides. Fast forward to my meal. Huge dino ribs with asparagus and fully loaded baked potato. Let's start by saying the dino rib was perfectly seasoned that I will only eat that every time I come here. Hands down that was the best I have ever had. So I spoke to the manager Stephanie and asked if i could share some of the other dishes they had to offer and she was happy to ablige. If your ever in kingsville tx make sure you give them a try you may just be surprised by the best meal and service that won't break your piggy bank. I give them two thumbs up. Loved it.
Would have loved to give a 5 star, but I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with a link of sausage on the side but got chopped brisket with sausage in the sandwich. I like the hoagie bread used for the sandwich, and brisket had good flavor, but because chopped, it was a little dry. Sausage was really good, and macaroni was also creamy and good. Sweet tea could have used more sugar as it wasn't really sweet, but overall, I would return to try different items. Staff was friendly, and service was fast and there is plenty of seating.
The beef brisket and smoked pork spare ribs were excellent. I really like the beans, which are traditional pinto beans, cooked with peppers, pork, and lots of spices. I also enjoyed the cornbread. The sweet heat BBQ sauce is a great addition. The service was fast, and our waitress was very attentive.
We were seated very quickly. We got an order of fried pickles and they were tasty. We then ordered a Campfire S'mores beer which was quite good, it tasted just like a smore. My hubby ordered a mushroom swiss burger and I ordered the vampire taco plate. Both were delicious. We haven't been here since before the pandemic and we are glad that we came for our date night.
Typical small bbq place. Not spectacular, but not bad. Ordered the Vampire Taco as an appetizer. Brisket with a vampire sauce. I figured it was going to be garlicky. To be honest the taco was completely flavorless. Only thing I could taste was the pico on it. For the main course I ordered the two meat plate. Sliced brisket and chicken. Creamed corn and green beans for the sides. The waitress came back and said they were out of chicken. No big deal. That is common at bbq joints. The brisket had a good bark on it. Good flavor. Just really dry. I had to dip it in my green bean juice to moisten it up. Speaking of green beans, they look good. Hunks of sausage and onions. But flavorless again. Tasted like green beans straight from the can. The creamed corn was good. It had peppers in it. The best part was the cornbread. It was great. Had corn and peppers mixed in. Service was okay. Asked to get lemons for my tea twice and never came. Might come back and try the chicken. They were out, so makes me think that is their specialty.
To go order of pulled pork on a Friday afternoon! Pork wasn’t fresh, like it’s was cooked yesterday or day before! It was saturated and hard like it does naturally after a day or 2 of sitting, Not fresh if you know then you know! I won’t write this restaurant off just yet, will try brisket next time, anyway that was my first experience here at Bray’s Smokehouse on Brahma Blvd, Kingsville TEXAS!
Ok...so I ordered 3 meat plate - marbled brisket, sausage, and pork ribs with mac n cheese and green beans. Wife ordered 2 meat - lean brisket and chicken with cream corn and asparagus. Son ordered mini tacos- vampire, Hawaiin, and pork. Daughter ordered chicken tacos. Had a michelada and wife ordered a pina colada. Overall experience... 😤. Bring me michelada. Didn't taste right..well...5 minutes later..brought me my beer. Wife didn't like PC at all. Tasted it... just like a coconut raspa! BUT...we were there for the food... Apps- pickles, mushrooms, and pulled pork egg rolls. ALL GOOD My brisket was cold. Tender... decent flavor, but cold. Rib was good bust salty. Sausage was best piece of meat on plate, but was missing something...mac and cheese was like eating play doh. Way too cheesy...yes.. too cheesy. Never thought I'd say that. And ordered green beans...and gave me borracho beans. BUT beans were very good! Tried chicken...dry. Cream corn was not good at all. Corn bread had good flavor but was very, very dry. Kids liked their tacos very much. I will try again, but was quite dissappointed.
