One of the best meals we had in Ecuador! Tasting menu is truly amazing and the cocktail pairing only adds to the experience. Chef Sebastian and Byron the bartender were so knowledgeable and blew our minds with each dish. Must try if you’re in the area!

Just had the most unforgettable dining experience at an incredible Ecuadorian restaurant! I indulged in their 8-course meal, and every single dish was a flavor-packed journey. From bold spices to fresh ingredients, each course was beautifully crafted and absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend if you’re looking to treat your taste buds to something extraordinary!

We had a great experience here and excellent dinner. If you are going for your first time, the tasting menu is great!

A beautiful old home on the waterfront with views of downtown. The food was creative and grounded. Our waiter Alberto was top notch. Will return if we come through Guayaquil. Shout out to Santi the chef who is curious and cooking with love.

We really enjoyed the three dinners we had at this restaurant. Each night we ordered different dishes and all turned out fabulous. It was a great experience, with a beautiful atmosphere. The decor and setting is outstanding. And by far the best location in Guayaquil to go for dinner, especially before embarking to Galapagos. Would highly recommend. The portions are large and the service was outstanding from Alberto and the two young women hostesses (whose names I did not get) - both were so kind and welcoming. We felt like we were so openly greeted especially on our last night, they even asked how our trip to Galapagos was. Such a nice personal touch, inviting us to come back - we hope to visit again one day!

What a special place! I actually went to see the garden but it was closed due to Covid so I decided to eat here and is was such a pleasant surprise. Extremely attentive staff sat me outside by request and described the brunch they had (it was Sunday) It came with a starter of salmon, eggs, cheese, fruit, bread and pancakes!! Then you could choose as many of the small plates as desired. The food is exceptional, each bite of each dish was a pleasure! Also included was coffee and sangria or mimosa's. I went with the white sangria and it was delicious. I slowly ate and overfilled myself for several hours taking a break for a walk to the river in between. All the staff was so kind and inviting. Even got a mini tour of the grounds where they raise their own meat, cacao and coffee beans. Truly a lovely experience, highly recommend!

Great place for lunch while visiting park. Amazing food quality. We had 5 different appetizers and all of them were excellent. And the chocolate desert is to die for. Ice cream covered with chocolate and passion fruit juice!

We did the 6 course tasting menu and it was absolutely world-class. There was an exquisite balance of flavor, freshness and texture - all with an underlying creativity. The wine pairings were perfectly matched and delicious. All of this combined with the gorgeous outdoor patio and setting made it one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Delicious food and a beautiful restaurant. If you order food that can be cooked rare, medium or well done, make sure to clarify how you want it because they tend to cook things more than normal as this is the Ecuador standard.

This is such an amazing restaurant. The menu/chef is so creative and the food is some of the best I’ve ever had! Our servers were very attentive and ensured we had a great experience!

The tasting menu, "La Perla", was really good! It's inspired by Guayaquil. The flavors and textures were nicely balanced. The staff were very nice and attentive. It's worth trying if you're in Guayaquil.

Had three wonderful meals here over the course of a week. It was outstanding. The five course tasting menu with wine pairing was delicious! The chef took time out of a busy evening to introduce himself and explain all the dishes. Photos are the Coconut cloud dessert and the Ceviche. So beautifully crafted and divine. Definitely a must try restaurant!

Sunday brunch was spectacular! I recommend the “costillar de cerdo” and the shrimps. Also, one of the best ayacas I’ve ever had.

Raul and Gaby helped me so much in my proposal plans. I was able to surprise my fiance and make the engagement everything she wanted with Gaby's help. The food and Raul's service were delightful. All smiles and laughs, thank-you!! :)

This is a destination restaurant. A trip to Guayaquil and even to Ecuador is warranted. One of the top five restaurants I've ever experienced. Inspired by local flavors, the cuisine is both classic and freshly unique. The ambiance of the restored early 19th Century mansion is lovely and not at all stuffy. Attention to detail in everything from drinks to dessert is world class. The Jipijapa Ceviche is perfectly balanced and each bite of seafood is exquisite in preparation, taste and texture. The nod to local use of peanuts works remarkably well. The Osso Bucco is truly extraordinary. Tender and flavorful as it should be, the brown sauce is brilliant. The handmade thin green pasta is precisely al dente in its own brilliant sauce with a seasoned egg yolk that is neither too hard nor soft by exactly as it should be. The in-house-made flight of ice cream is truly extraordinary and features local fresh fruit and other beautifully presented flavors. The inclusion of a beet-flavored ice cream is a bold move and works surprisingly well. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy one of the best meals of a lifetime at Casa Julian.

We visited this place today. Good service and good food, some of it was made very artistically. Stuff doing there best to make you happy, just as almost everywhere in Ecuador. Average price for high end place.good lunch with drinks just under $100 US.

This place is a real gem! We had no idea that we would have one of the best meals ever! The sauces, flavor pairings, and quality of food rivals any 5-star and James Beard restaurant in the States. The tasting menu with wine pairings was delicious. The kids loved their meals as well. Beautiful location. Very friendly. Wonderful service. Highly recommend!

Casa Julian was simply fabulous. The Ceviche Jipijapa with salsa de maní was so unique and a burst of contrasting flavor, it was a top 10 dish I’ve ever eaten. The Cordero was decadent and enjoyable as a pulled meat dish. The service was top-notch. I give this place the highest recommendation.

Great service by Pablo, several vegetarian and vegan options. We had entrees, main dishes and desert with Argentinean wine.

NIce place, good atmosphere. Rib eye was apparently grass fed beef from Uruguay. Best steak I've ever had. I've paid triple for Wagyu beef, but this was better. Tender, flavorful, cooked perfectly. I wish I could get meat like that where I live...

The catch of the day crudo appetizers was absolutely delicious and if you’re not a big eater — enough for an entree. 14 pieces of fish in total. Excellent fish and a delicious sauce. My husband had the ceviche appetizer which was outstanding. The main courses and desserts were very good too. Staff was attentive, service was top notch and atmosphere was very pleasant.

The ambiance of the restaurant is very nicely decorated. We got the 7 course tasting menu and each dish was tasty. The reason they did not get a 5 star was that the food took a really long time to come out. Each dish we had to wait at least 10-15 mins. It would been a better experience if the pacing between each dish was faster since each dish was small so we finished quick. Overall, the food was well balanced.

I think they deserve 4. It was excellent. It is a beautiful restaurant. You should visit this restaurant if you are in Guayaquil. I did not like the pulpo; I felt the cheese overpowered the taste of the octopus. It felt a little expensive, with a lack of presentation, but overall, it was pretty good.

Very pleasant meal. Food was good, if expensive. Service was good. Music was awful for the ambiance - playing lounge techno in a high end restaurant - very strange.

Had the tasting menu. It was delicious but even with my simple Spanish skills our waiter wasn’t able to clearly communicated what fish and flavors we were enjoying. The restaurant is lovely and we stayed at the Hotel del Parque which was walkable, a beautiful century+ hotel that reckoned back to the days of open courtyard 2 story plantations filled with orchids and chairs to laze away to afternoons.

P

a mixed experience. We were a big group. Very friendly service. Easy going, casual athmosphere and clients. Food was from exzellent (langoustinos) to not acceptable (duck) or simply without taste (dessert). Some light would help seeing what you eat. Prices are very high for local standards. The Relais et Chateau Hotel del Parque is nicely decorated and smells humid. There are major (necessary) constructions underway. In summary: attitude and reality do not match.

So, the osobucco was salty and looks nothing like the other pics. They had a wedding and we ended up at the hotel side with some limited menu from the restaurant. We were never informed of this. No wine list, just red or white. The sea bass was over cooked. Overall a disappointment

My girlfriend and I walked in on a Sunday at 3:03 and wanted the buffet but they refused because it was after 3. I wouldn’t have been upset, but all the food was still out and people we actively eating from there. We had to order from the menu and for the price, I just don’t the quality of food matched up. All in all, it’s a solid restaurant, a great venue, and the staff were very good.

Had the 56 usd 5-course tasting menu, and the food was well prepared. Waiters were mostly attentive but not all the time. Portions are very small so keep that in mind. The 15 usd wine pairing is presented “Chardonnay” for example which is not exactly what you’d hope for, and we got the same wine twice. Glasses are scarce, too. Table wasn’t set when we got there and we had to ask for items. Outside seating is nice, indoors is freezing cold.

We were sadly disappointed by the service here and their misinterpretation of “vegan”. We sat for 20 minutes waiting for our ordered water and the vegan menu. Our food order was forgotten (and we had only ordered a couple appetizers) and about 45 minutes after ordering the waitress returned and apologized for the delay and offered us bread while we waited. We assume our order was forgotten and then put in at that time. At the one hour mark the food finally came but one of the dishes was not vegan (it had egg on top, which was not in the menu). Very expensive for very small portions… too bad because the ambience isn’t bad!

I have ate here 5+ times this year. Food has been excellent some days and others disappointing. The inconsistency is an issue for me. Ambience excellent. Drinks ok. Service is good. The potential is there to be truly world class: please make it happen. Work harder on being consistent in your delivery.

I'm going to this restaurant in the afternoon. I better be impressed or I will leave a not so good comment. Anyway, I arrived from California last night and I want some excellent food to eat. Ok, I visited this location. Was not impressed. To get to the restaurant you have to drive on this shitty street that is not paved. Then, after you park, you have to walk on this cobblestone type of street. When we went into the restaurant the people working there were not a friendly bunch. The service lacked a professionalism that other restaurants have displayed as I visited them. Here's a couple of restaurants with what I would consider excellent people serving skills: Central 593, Centro Comercial Plaza Orellana, Av. Francisco de Orellana; Restaurante La Pepa de Oro, 1615, Boyacá y Ballèn just to name a few. No, I was not impressed with this restaurant at all. Aside from not being a friendly atmosphere, the food was expensive yet not very pleasing.

Group of 9 for an engagement party. Lovely ambiance but absolutely terrible customer service and food options on the menu were not even available, absolutely NOT worth the price! Warning, if you don't want to ruin your party plans, then don't go here!! Recommendation to the owner...replace your manager, she could not seem to stop texting on WhatsApp and giggling with whomever she was texting with.

I ate at Casa Julian and Mikka back to back nights. Casa Julian had a perfixed dinner with wine pairing. At both resturants I had 8 courses with wine. The price was similiar however Casa Julian performed poorly compared to Mikka. Mikka, the portions and quality of food was much better the pace of the meal was better with more guests. Whereas Casa Julian struggled to keep pace and the new menu did not excite. In addition, the cocktail pairing was not available and the table was all required to choose the same meal. Casa Julian was not worth it. They served food on mulch and pair popcorn with octopus and potatoes. It tasted disgusting by the way. The staff was given multiple opertunities to correct the issues noted and did nothing.

They were trying a new menu and I Had the octopus with lentils and quinoa but the octopus was hard and stringy… not very nice flavour. The service was nice and they were really emphatic when I said it was not nice offering something else to eat or even a dessert, an offered a discount… I would try again the restaurant as it has a lovely setting… but don’t try this dish!!

My expectations were to high, the ambience and nostalgic feeling of a Colonial Era is on spot. However, one goes to a restaurant for the food, right? My Ceviche de Camarones was bland, flavorless, aji, was not a aji, I tried my other parties meals and it was just okay, I would not recommend this place, Guayaquil has a variety of gastronomical and authentic places were one can enjoy a great meal.

What a pity! - quite honestly we did the reservation for this place just because of the reviews, but will never come back here because the only thing we enjoy was the amazing view of the place. This was a completely disappointment from the beginning to the end. Starting that we had a reservation for 10 they give us the biggest table that wasn’t necessary, since we couldn’t even talk to the other end if we don’t walk around it. So very bad idea. About the menu: we asked for a wine menu and they “are working on it” so they don’t have one so we took the server recommendation, was good but when we ordered the second bottle they didn’t have. So if you know is a table for 10 don’t offer what you don’t have in stock is just not right! Anyways, the food: my nephew is 7 so we ask the server if we can have a special order for him what they did, so BIG bravo for that extra step. I ordered the “tasting menu” the starters were good and innovative, what create a big expectation for the main course but I don’t think the chef was ever in one tasting menu before, the expectations were high but having 1 single shrimp as a main course is not even gourmet anymore and you can call me crazy but I had done plenty of tasting menu and never ever had the necessity to go eat somewhere else after my dinner (so I leave that to consider) another thing we didn’t enjoy was the HORRIBLE timing to bring the food. As a chef I can understand that all the kids are serve first, so they did to my nephew, but after that…. Was a completely disaster, my partner got his starter way before everyone else. Then we start getting our food one by one, so any chef should know that is not enjoyable to eat their meals in the wrong temperature. And as a courtesy is normal to wait for the others to start eating… well we had to screw our courtesy to eat our meals in the other they took them out. Very unpleasant. I give 2 stars because they have the best location but what we pay was not worth it. So the entire table agree not to go back here. Thanks for the unpleasant time Casa Julian. Next day we had dinner at our hotel and I would give 100 stars with service and food. And the price wasn’t shocking as CJ, and we were the same people. The live you learn people! 🙄🙄

We got the 8 course and asked for my friend to exchange the seafood and fish against some other food, the waitress confirmed no problem. So it was a problem every time the brought her the same plate like me. So they served and need exchange the seafood after serving. One time would be acceptable but 4 times is like I don’t care about the guest. Don’t get me wrong the dishes were all perfect and delicious, is just unacceptable to make the same mistake frequent.
